Using XPATH to populate a drop down with custom text enabled?

Hello,
I am using the custom state field provided by Adobe Form Designer 7.1, and I checked the option to allow custom text entry.
Within my workflow, I have script that will access the XDP path and set the state to a string. I get the _state value from a DB query (where _state = _rs.getString(#)), but here I'll use a static value to provide a good example:

When I received the form from the workflow (via email) my other fields were set properly, but the state field was blank.
Should I use setProcessDataStringValue?

Hi Rob
I don't believe using StringValue will make any difference. If you're passing a string, it should amount to the same thing.
Some things to try:
Try setting the value using the SetValue QPAC - does that work?
Try testing your form by setting an XML file containing "Fl" in the state field as your preview data (In Designer, File/Form Properties)
Try using the Variable Logger to check the data in your form is set correctly.

Are you using Reader 8.1. We've experienced several problems with DropDowns in 8.1. Try using 7.0.5 or greater.

you can try this ,
1.after creating the attribute which you wanna populate in the context of your node .
2.Go to do inint method of your view and try using the code below with node and attributes which you need.

Create a fragment with web service to populate the drop down list

Can any one please advise/suggest on how to create a fragment in LiveCycle Designer ES with web service to populate the drop down list so I can re-use it for another form. I already have a drop down list to populate the data from the web serivice but need some advise on how to create a fragment for this drop down list so I can start to embed it in other forms as well.

Populate updatable drop down list based on files in the folder path

Hi,
I am a beginner in labview. I am stuggling on where to start.
Here's what I need to do.
I want to create an updatable drop down list. It can be automatic upon opening the program or manually update by clicking an update button. The drop down list will list all the filenames that are in .cvs format. These files are stored in a folder path. Insider the folder, they are stored in different subfolders, the drop box should be able to find those files inside the subfolders. Once the user select a filename from the list, the program will read the data inside that file and import into an array so I can display the data.
I have an idea on how to display the data, but I don't how to populate the drop down list based on the files in the folder, make it updatable and then import that user selected file's data into the the array.
Can anyone help me with this?

Yup, ListFolder with a pattern of *.csv. Then use a property node on a combo box or ring to set the items in the drop down. Here is some free training if you are interested in learning more general LabVIEW tools.

How do I populate a drop-down list from a schema variable

I'm a novice programmer and new to the LiveCycle environment. I need help to populate a drop-down list in LiveCycle from a hard coded variable within my form's schema. I have a list of 28 names (the number of names and actual names change annually). That list is used over 30 times within a form for different selections. Since the list rarely changes, I would prefer to hard code it and make changes to the schema when they occur.
If I can't find a solution, I will be updating over 30 separate drop-down list objects each time there is a change to the list.

Can you post your schema to [email protected] and I will have a look. You will also need to indicate which node in the schema is supposed to populate the dropdown.

Connecting drop-down with check boxes?

I am making a document which provides information about retrieving documents for several countries. The user will use this form as a reminder for himself, this way he can see which documents he needs and which documents he still needs to make, or recieve from someone else. Whenever he recieves a document he can check the checkbox. The document is made in InDesign so it is a simple PDF. I have made this in to a form. It looks like the following example:
Select country: Drop-down with items/countries: Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.

The main lead is the country which is build from a drop-down. For example: you can select the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. Whenever you select a country the checkboxxes(made in Acrobat) should apear.
But here's the thing: Not all countries need the same documents, so whenever a country does not require (for example) document 3, all checkboxxes of that line should not be visible for the selected country. And on document two the checkbox of the bank should not apear as well.
I have some experience with creating forms, but not in javascript so I was hoping some of you could help me creating this base for the document?

i have a HTML BSP page. with 2 drop down with SELECT and OPTION tags. i need to populate the second drop down based on the first drop down value.
i tried HTMLB script they work good as stand alone when i try to embed the HTMLB with HTML it does not work.
Please can you give me a solution only with ABAP script and HTML.

You can have event handler for first drop down . Then populate the data for 2nd field when the event triggers on first field.

Where is this example spreadsheet? Without seeing it I can only guess at what you are asking.
To make a drop-down list (a pop-up menu in Numbers-speak), format the cell as a pop-up then edit and add to the list of items.
If the example spreadsheet is pulling in a dollar value based on what car you chose in the pop-up, it is probably using LOOKUP or one of the other lookup functions, getting the information from another table (a lookup table). If, instead, these dollar values are what you are choosing in the pop-up, then you need to create a pop-up with these values in it.
The Help menu includes a link to a page where you can download the Numbers Users Manual. It also has a link to the Formulas and Functions guide. Both are useful to new users.

A drag and drop game with dynamic text response

I am a teacher and my school has recently upgraded to Adobe Design Premium. Our previous version was about 5 versions out of date.
I teach A Level which requires students to create an Interactice Multimedia product.
In the previous 6 years, I have taught students how to create simple drag and drop game with dynamic text responses.
Since the upgrade to Actionscript 3.0 the dynamic text response has ceased working.
When creating the game from scratch, I need to move to Actionscript 2.0 as 3.0 does not allow me to add actionscript to objects - I know and am sure that this is a better way of doing things, but I would prefer to keep working the way I am used to.
I use a switch case statement which I have copied below to make the drag and drop work. The objects I apply the code to work in that they can be dragged, however, my dynamic text box with a variable name of "answer" is no longer displaying the response when an answer is left on a dropzone (rectangle converted to a symbol and given an instance name).

To drag in as3
blie_btn is the instance of the object drawin on the stage. In AS3 you have to assign a even listener, in this case MOUSE_DOWN, and MOUSE_UP, as we want the drag to stop if the mouse is not clicked. Then we fire the functions, and tell the object to start drag.

if you want to make the text do what you want then something like this might work.
In the function, you could add a text box onto the stage, give it a instance of something like outputText
and then:

PS. I am currently a A-level student

ITunes opens but without any text showing. Drop down menus have text but not the app itself. I have a Mac Powerbook Pro running Windows XP under Boot Camp.

Running under Windows XP, a few upgrades ago iTunes started opening without any text showing in the application. Clicking on PLAY will play music but no text shows to indicate what's playing and no text to show music library. Drop down windows show text but not the app itself.
Subsequent upgrades and reinstalls have not corrected the problem, When I run under iOS (Snow Leopard), iTunes opens with text and runs correctly.

Because I created FAT32 partition using Boot Camp tool few days ago I installed my custom copy of Windows XP with SP3, IE7 and WMP10 integrated using nLite (for WMP10 integration use RVM Integrator). I did not use Boot Camp tool this time - I just booted CD using Option key. Then I installed Boot Camp 2.0 drivers you can find on Mac Disk 1. After this I installed Boot Camp drivers 2.1 update. In Add or remove Programs I checked drivers - I uninstalled old drivers which call identical, but you can skip this. Everything works fine BTW it is better to format your partition to NTFS - you have much less disk errors, you do not waste time for disk errors scans during Windows startup, your data are much more safe. If you need NTFS write permissions use great tool Paragon NTFS for Mac OSX or open source NTFS driver.

Drop Down Menu Over Text The Opposite Way

I’ve just read the Drop Down Menu Over Text: How? Topic
posted by Cpt-K but it appears that he was trying to do the
opposite of what I want to do. My problem is that I have created a
drop down menu in Flash which I have imported into Dreamweaver. I
now want to be able to write HTML code below the menu and have the
sub menus drop down over the top of the HTML. Currently the menu
sits above the text leaving a large white space where the sub menus
drop down. I have tried using the wmode parameters transparent and
opaque but neither has worked. Is there anyway to fix this?

F4-Help (drop down) in customer search via Tel. No.

HI,
F4-Help (drop down) in customer search used to have a search functionality which allowed 'Customer' search via 'Telephone Number'. For example, in tcodes: xd03, vd03 or where ever there is a customer input field is.
Now in 4.7 this does not exists. Does anyone knows how to restore it?

I found a note 195508 which states that modify two views in SE11 (V_CONTACT and VKNK_CONTACT). The second one does not exists in 4.7. The instructions for first one is incomplete.
I am still searching for answers.

We would like to use cyrilic language characters in ECC system with custome

We would like to use cyrilic language characters in ECC system with "customer reserve" language (Z1).
We have positive experience on one system for certain business partner in Macedonia (there is no Macedonian language to install as SAP standard) by using "customer reserve" language (Z1).
Now we are about to introduce other system with same approach. The trouble is that after entering Macedonian language on an cost center with language Z1 on first language and transfering it via idoc we get hashes("#") instead of characters on second language
What could be the reason? I suplemented with english (as on the first system where everything is ok) the "Customer reserve"(Z1) language normaly(with default settings).
On first system this was not done by me.
Should supplementation be done specificly?.(how to find settings for supplemention on first system?)
Please give me a hint

Problems with customer text objects in ZDEBMAS definition

   We have a Z* version ( ZDEBMAS ) of std customer chg pointer msg type DEBMAS - this ZDEBMAS is a shortened version of DEBMAS
We notice that whenever customer related texts are changed in customer master, change pointer objects with CD class - CUSTTEXT, TABLE-STXH get generated for the DEBMAS msg type. No such change pointer data gets generated for my ZDEBMAS.
I do not see any CD class with 'CUSSTEXT' entry in the definition of DEBMAS message type -bd52.
I basically want to replicate the customer text data change pointer generation functionality for my 'ZDEBMAS' msg type too ? Any pointers so to what I am missing ?
We are at a very critical stage of implementing the Z* solution - any pointers will be rewarded right away ....

         Thanks for the quick response. Yes the change pointers are activated globally ( bd61 ) and the change pointer is activated for ZDEBMAS ( bd50 ). The problem here is that - change pointer data gets generated in ZDEBMAS for other customer related fields - the problem is with customer text fields - the change pointer data does not get generated for customer text fields in ZDEBMAS - whereas it gets generated for DEBMAS - I am wondering why and how ?? ( since DEBMAS does not have an explicity CUSTTEXT - object class in its definition ) . Also, when I try to add this object class as a part of ZDEBMAS , I get an error message that this object class does not exist

I have a problem with a PDF form: There's a drop down list that I populate with Excel data that I've put in an XML file through an XSD file -- no problem here. The drop down list has a data binding to the XML file, so that a choice in the drop down list can be associated with an object in the XML file. So, when I make a choice in the drop down list, a corresponding object value is fetched from the XML file and put in a text field on the form.

There's a snag, though, and to describe it more clearly:
The XML file contains three types of objects: role, role number, and role cost center. Of these I use the first and the third, i.e. the role and the role cost center. The drop down list contains the roles, and when I select a role, the corresponding cost center is filled out in the text field. So far, so good!
But -- if the cost center has the same value for two or more roles, all of these roles "bounce back" into the drop down list, that is, they are all selected in the drop down list. How many of these you can see depend on the height of the drop down list -- if it's low you'll only see the first one.
If I modify Stefan Cameron's data in his example I get the same behavior, so the problem seems to have to do with how XML data are fetched.
I'm sure there's a workaround, but I can't find it! I've spent many hours browsing the web without finding anyone with a similar problem.
