Using Yosemite My incoming mail server changes by itself and means I can't access my email. When I go to preferences the new incoming mail server is greyed out. I then have to remove the accounts and get new ones.
Using Mail with Yosemite 10.10.2.The incoming mail server keeps changing by itself and means I can't access my mail. I go to preferences and find that the new incoming server is greyed out . I then have to remove the accounts and then add them again with the correct server. The incoming server which is greyed out is imap.gmail.com
Try Mail/Preferences/Accounts - select the account, then go to Advanced and deselect "Automatically detect and maintain account settings".

i receive a lot of emails when i start to setup the account . How can i deactivate this option ?
I opened settings and selected mail,contacts, calendar option
but on my iPhone 4 (v 6.1.3) I did not see that option.

I Have two email addresses...one on my work ipad and one on my home ipda. Can I copy all my emails from one to the other.
Put the same accounts (work/home) on both iPads.

Genuis had to reboot my ipad do to software Crashes unfortunetly deleting all my apps. Now I can't access my email,when I attempt to sign in it says account is already added to iPad. I cannot receive any mail,or even access my account. I have gone thru the troubleshooter, with no resolution .
I would go to managing your Apple ID at this website and see if your information is all correct, first ...

You'll see if you can sign in on managing your Apple ID, and then if you can, you can see if your information is all correct, and then ... you should be able to go back and do it, since you've verified your information. -
gmail on iphone was working fine until yesterday when it prompted me with the message "cannot get mail user name or password for gmail is incorrect", i have tried deleting the account and re-created a new account, same problem, can anyone help?

I am using a mac mini 2011 an 3gs i phone 2010 macbook white 2008 and a new 2013 apple tv box. When i check info on the cloud I get 'upgrade your operating system to the latest. My question is is it possible to use the icloud system without an upgrade

I upgraded to IOS 7 and now I can't get my Hotmail account on my phone. When I type in all the information, I get "Unable to Verify Account Information". How do I get to use my Hotmail account using this software????
I have had the same problem as yours on my Ipad after upgraded Procreate 2.01. My iOS is 7.04. I tried to find solution from internet for weeks. Fortunately, the problem was resolved a few minutes ago. It is very simple,
1. Lunch outlook.com to confirm you can access hotmail mailbox. It means your account is Ok.
2. Go to setting>Mail,Contacts,Calendars.Delete your hotmail account from your device.(my device is Ipad)
3. Turn off your device, then turn on again.
4. Go to setting>Mail,Contacts,Calendars and create your hotmail account by tap outlook.com. Be sure the incoming mail server is pop3.live.com.
5. Waiting for validation.

I can't access my email. I have joined iCloud. When I press mail I get a series of providers. I click iCloud. It asks for my Apple id and password. I provide these to be told this account already exists and I can get no further. What am I doing wrong?

I recently updated my primary email address associated with my Apple ID account.
Now when I go to App store on my iPad it still tries to login to the App store using the old email address I had associated with the account, and naturally my password doesn't work. I can't figure out how to tell my iPad to login using the updated email address.
So in effect I'm locked out of the app store and I currently have 26 updates waiting.
I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting my IPad to iCloud with no luck.. However I cloud happens to show the correct/updated email address.
Does anyone know how to resolve this?
ThanksDid you change the email for the Apple ID or did you create a new Apple ID? A new Apple ID cannot be used with content that was bought using a different Apple ID.

i have apps to be updated but when i try to update them a message pops out saying "You have updates for other accounts, please sigh in with the other id". Can some one help me how can i still update the same with the new apple id ive created. As i dont have the access to the earlier id anymore.
You cannot. The apps are assigned to that Apple ID and there is nothing you can do to change that. You could choose to download them again with the new Apple ID, any paid apps will need to be purchased again.

Just bought brand new new iMac. When browsing in Safari, sometimes the text suddenly gets super large. I'm doing nothing except reading the screen, tho I usually have my hand resting lightly on the mouse. I can get back to normal size by clicking "actual size" in View. But then it does it again a minute or two later. What gives? Something seems defective--but what?
From System Preferences, Mouse, Point & Click, Secondary click. Go to it hover over Secondary click and watch the short video sequence change it left right, left right, you will see exactly what is does. No I do not think your Mouse is defective, you simply need to take control of your Mouse finger.

I keep getting an error pop-up when I try to access my email. The pop-up says Cannot Get Mail The connection to the server failed. I get this pop-up on both my iPhone 5 and my iPad. I can still access my email, but the pop-up is real annoying. Can someone please help me with this? -Stu

It sounds like you're seeing an alert message when opening Mail on your iOS devices. Do you have multiple email accounts setup on the devices? I can't launch Safari. When I right click on the icon, the "Application not responding" is grey and no matter what method I use to Force quit, I get no response.
Do a backup.
Quit the application.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart the computer, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

I have been using Elements 12 without a problem for 9 months. Now when I try to open the program, I get an error message "Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 quit unexpectedly" and it will not open at all. What can I do to open the program?
Thank you for responding. Nothing actually worked! After reading the posts online, I called Apple. They indicated they have seen problems with some software after their upgrades. The technician was able to fix the problem on my computer remotely, but I have no clue what he did! But, it was definitely related to their recent upgrade to my computer.
