UTC Warning Message each second in log file

Hi,
i'm running a Oracle NoSQL Store (2.0.23) in a 2 node environment.
In the web admin interface under "logs" i find the message
+"UTC WARNING [rg1-rn2] Exception in ResolveHandlerThread when contacting:rg1-rn2"+
repeating each second.
A more detailled error message can be found in log-file rg1-rn2_0.log, which resides on second node of my store:

When validating/verifying the store (either by web interface or by CLI), everything seems to be ok.
Output from CLI (strangely no performance information from rg1-rn2, which reports messages above):

Is the error message resulting from a slight (< 1 sec) difference of time on both nodes? I'm not able
to sync the time on both machines via ntp, as on one of them i do not have rights to modify time
settings (system is only for training purpose).
If so, can i ignore the warning or do i have to expect some side-effects?
Thanks & Regards
Thomas

I'm updating this thread. Thomas and I have had some offline communication regarding the log files and the store. The brief summary is that it's not yet clear why this situation arose but there are some clues:
1. The 2-node store started off with a clock skew problem that caused it to not work at all
2. Thomas fixed the skew and retried the deployment plans keeping the store intact (most people tend to make a new store when this happens)
3. The store became functional but in a state where an internal thread would log a warning every second
The development team is still looking into this.
Note: the fact that Windows 7 was involved is probably not a factor.
Disclaimer: technically Oracle NoSQL Database is not supported on that platform.

George

    hi
    Looks like the message numbers you are processing in the function module CRM_MESSAGE_COLLECT are only for 'errors'.
    Please go to Transaction: CRMC_MSGS
    Look at the following Application Areas
    CRM_ORDER
    CRM_ORDERADM_H
    CRM_ORDERADM_I
    CRM_ORDER_MISC
    CRM_ORDER_OUTPUT
    Select one of the above and double click 'Single Messages' towards your left side on the screen. Select the relavant message number from the list and check the 'S' flag. Press 'F1' (help) on this box and you will see the following.
    Only error messages are saved in the processing log. If a message definitely should be saved - contrary to this rule - then the indicator needs to be set.
    You need to make sure that a message marked like this can be deleted again - by calling up the function module CRM_MESSAGES_DELETE in the appropriate place in the program.
    When you do these steps, please note the message 'Do not make any changes (SAP data)'. This is not tested and used from my side. Please see if this impacts other functions. I am not sure. Do necessary R&D before you proceed further. Please explore tables CRMC_MESSAGES_S and CRMC_MESSAGES and see if this helps.
    Reward if helps

    also in first error log I found

    Please post the details of the application release, database version and OS.
    I am getting several of these messages in the Apache error logfile.
    File does not exist: $JAVA_TOP (this is actually my physical patch for $JAVA_TOP)Is this the complete error message?
    Is it normal to see this messages or some configuration is wrong?If your application is functioning properly with no issues, then you can ignore those errors.

  • File history stopped working after a warning message in the event log

    I have encountered this twice that File history stopped working, the event log says:
    Unusual condition was encountered during finalization of a backup cycle for configuration C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\FileHistory\Configuration\Config
    If I re-run it, it consumes the backup disk space but still failed to backup.
    I have to manually delete all backup, turn off File History and re-configure it again to make it work.
    This happened twice already, so all my file history lost after re-config.
    Anyone encounter the same situation?

    MICROSOFT is plagued by idiots!!!!
    - Just turn it off
    - then click  "select drive"
    - and when it asks you the retarded question... just click >>>>>"NO"<<<<<<<    -_-
    Seriously... this is the answer.... frigging retards at microsoft... to think it takes an army of programmers and billions of dollars to create such idiocy!
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-performance/cannot-change-drive-in-file-history-windows-8/6dbeca54-d05e-4f93-9262-45a56d6a82d1?page=2&msgId=f1792c5e-c5d0-4163-b449-c7165d72f88d&tab=question&status=AllReplies&status=AllReplies%2CAllReplies
    I cant believe these morons put everyone through such hell and then don't even bother to follow up with the correct solution.
    To top it of the moron moderator marks this as an answer??!!!
    What a pathetic joke - I hope everyone reads this message before being punished by the miles of bullcrap in this thread -_-
    Microsoft = ridiculous
    Thanks! I guess the TL;DR version is "to change your file history drive you need to discard the current temp files."
    Exactly :)
    It's the bad wording in the messages.
    the first message (which I can only vaguely remember so can't quote exactly) that gives you the impression you can continue
    something but doesn't make clear that to so will need the "old drive" configured the way the "old drive" was.
    Then the next message is just confusing:
    “we can't copy files to this location.  Your current File History drive is disconnected.  Reconnect the drive and try again”
    sounds like
    “we can't copy files to this location. [because there's a problem with the new location]
    Your current File History drive is disconnected. [the new location is disconnected]
    Reconnect the drive and try again [reconnect your new location and try again]”
    When it should be reworded to say something along the lines of (in more formal language):
    "You asked us to continue...give us the drive you were previously using...or if it's no longer available, click here to start from scratch"
    (I know that's all the opposite of tldr but I'm trying again to put into words what I think was happening).

  • Warning message when saving a ppt file

    Hi I have a ppt file that I have added some presenter features (audio etc).  When I save the file I get this message. have tried saving to a new file but......get the same warning.  Has anyone encountered this before and can advise what is causing it?  My version of Presenter is 6.1
    thanks in advance

    I am having the same problem,  (Presenter 7).  and I have since I installed this  add-in a month ago, honestly I am wondering why people use this  product.  Others around me are not having this issue so I don't know  what is going on.
    I have called Adobe 3 times,
    I  tried uninstalling and re-installing Presenter - no luck
    I tried  disabling and enabling the add-in - no luck
    I updated to version  7.0.5, http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=153&platform=Windows   (make sure you install 7.0.1, then 7.0.2, then 7.0.5 in this order)  still  had problems - but I did just find this post from 2009, and I am going  to try starting a new presentation (updates would not help a current  PP), which really is not great because I have a 60 slide class at this  time.

    Give  it a try and let me know if it works or if you find a solution!

    Hi,
    I'm not sure what operation are you trying to, can you please confirm that ? Please check what kind of messages did you try to log, is it only errors ? or all errors & warning or all messages ?. If it were only errors and warnings, then there is a possibility that the server did not encounter any of this, due to which the log file can be empty.

  • How to create different log files for each of web applications deployed in OC4J

    Hi All,
    I am using OC4J(from Oracle) v1.0.2.2 and Windows2000. Now I want to know
    1. how to create different log files for each of my deployed web applications ?
    2. what are the advantages in running multiple instances of oc4j and in what case we should run
    multiple instances of OC4J ?
    3. how to run OC4J as Windows2000 Service rather than Windows2000 Application ?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Kumar.

    Hi Avi,
    First of all I have given a first reading to log4j and I think there will some more easy way of logging debugging messages than log4j (If you could provide me a detailed explanation of a servlet,jsp,java bean that uses log4j and how to use log4j then it will be very helpful for me). The other easy ways (if I am not using log4j) to my problem i.e creating different log files for each of web applications deployed in oc4j are
    I have created multiple instances of OC4J that are configured to run on different ports and so on each instance I have deployed a single web application . And I started the 2 oc4j instances by transferring thier error/log messages to a file. And the other way is ..
    I have download from jakarta site a package called servhelper . This servhelper is a thread that is started in a startup servlet and stopped in the destroy method of that startup servlet. So this thread will automatically capture all the system.out.println's and will print those to a file. I believe that this thread program is synchronized. So in this method I need not run multiple instances of OC4J instead each deployed web application on single instance of oc4j uses the same thread program (ofcourse a copy of thread program is put in each of the deployed web applications directories) to log messages on to different log files.
    Can you comment on my above 2 approached to logging debugging messages and a compartive explanation to LOG4J and how to use LOG4J using a simple servlet, simple jsp is appreciated ...
    Thanks and Regards,
    Ravi.

  • Huge system.log file filled with over a million messages about NSATSTypeset

    Hi,
    I just happened to notice the system.log file on my MacBook Pro laptop was absolutely huge - over 1.2 GBytes in just one day. Almost all of it is messages like this:
    Mar 31 12:26:23 macbook quicklookd[228]: <NSATSTypesetter: 0x146b40>: Exception * table 0x1473caa0 has block 0x147b3040 rather than 0x147b4850 at index 7573 raised during typesetting layout manager <NSLayoutManager: 0x124140>\n 1 containers, text backing has 16461 characters\n selected character range {16461, 0} affinity: downstream granularity: character\n marked character range {16461, 0}\n Currentl

    and there are over 1.3 million of these messages!!!! There is a tiny bit of variation in some of the numbers (but not all). That is just a little bit more than the total number of files I have on the hard drive in the laptop, so it would appear that the quicklookd is doing something to each and every file on the computer. Any idea why all of a sudden these messages appear and why so many. I only have about 7 versions of the system.log files and none of them are even close to this big, but the one one thing I did do today that I have not in a few weeks is reboot my laptop because of another problem with the laptop screen not waking this morning from being put to sleep last night (was just black but computer was running and could login to it from another computer in the LAN it is attached).
    Any ideas why this is happening, or is this something that always happens on a reboot/boot rather than waking from sleep. Why would the quicklookd be printing out so many of these messages that are almost exactly alike???
    I have only had this MacBook for a few weeks, so don't have a good feel for what is normal and what isn't yet.
    THanks...
    -Bob

    Bob,
    Thanks for your further thoughts and the additional information. My guess is that Quick Look does its file processing independently of whether or not or how recently the computer has been rebooted. The NSATSTypesetter messages filling up the log file are almost certainly error messages and should not occur with normal operation of Quick Look. I suspect that your reboot doesn't directly have anything to do with this problem. (It might have indirectly contributed in the sense that either whatever caused the need for the reboot or the reboot process itself corrupted a file, which in turn caused Quick Look to fail and generate all those error messages in the log file.)
    In the meantime I may have a solution for this problem. This morning I rebooted in single user mode and ran AppleJack in manual mode so that I could tell it to clean up all user cache files. (I'd previously downloaded AppleJack application from http://applejack.sourceforge.net/ . To boot in single user mode hold command and s keys at startup chime. ... Run the five AppleJack maintenance tasks in order. The third task will give you the option to enter numbers of users whose cache files will be cleaned. Do this cache cleaning for all users.) In the six hours since I ran AppleJack I've seen exactly two NSATSTypesetter error messages in /var/log/system.log . This compares with hundreds of thousands in the same period yesterday. I just set an iCal alarm to remind me to report back to this discussion thread in two weeks on this issue.
    Best,
    Chris.
    PS: Above you mention 7 log files. Are the older ones of the form system.log.0.bz2 ? If so they have been compressed. Just because they are small doesn't necessarily mean there are not a lot of nearly identical error messages. Uncompress to check. I haven't tried this because large files are very inconvenient to work with on my old iBook.

  • Warning Messages to the log

    Hi Experts,
    I want to send a warning message to the order log , for this I used
    CALL FUNCTION 'CRM_MESSAGE_COLLECT'
            EXPORTING
              iv_caller_name = 'ORDER'
              iv_ref_object  = iv_guid
              iv_msgno       = 002
              iv_msgid       = 'ZMSG'
              iv_msgty       = 'W'
              iv_cumulate    = 'X'
            EXCEPTIONS
              not_found      = 1
              appl_log_error = 2
              OTHERS         = 3.
    MESSAGE ID 'ZMSG' TYPE 'W' NUMBER '002' .
    But the problem is order is not saving at all, I want order to be saved and the warning message to be in the log.
    Please help me out in this.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Praveen

    I am using it in the BADI_ORDER_SAVE, when I do not add this message to the log the pop up message is coming out fine.
    In this FM if I send E to iv_msgty ,its working fine too.The problem is coming only for warning messages.
    Your time in replying to this thread will be appreciated.
    Thanks in Advnace,

  • Warning messages in system log after upgrading to SP4

    Hello there, I am starting to see quite a lot of warning messages in the system log saying the following:
    Failed loading JDBC Driver class com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver - Exception:java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver
    Failed loading JDBC Driver class com.sap.dbtech.jdbc.DriverSapDB - Exception:java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.sap.dbtech.jdbc.DriverSapDB
    Failed loading JDBC Driver class org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver - Exception:java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver
    We are using MSSQL as the underlying database, so maybe something needs to be unchecked somewhere? Any ideas?
    Best regards,
    Anders

    Anders,
        I just updated to SP4 and tried a user creation (my database is also MSSQL). I did not see any warnings in the system logs. Like Thomas said you must have extra entries in the Tools/Option/Java/JDBC driver names.
    All you need is just one entry "com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver".
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks

    Your elapsed time is roughly 2000 seconds (31:55 rounded up) - and your log file sync time is roughly 10,000 - which is 5 seconds per second for the duration. Alternatively your session count is roughly 250 at start and end of snapshot - so if we assume that the number of sessions was steady for the duration, every session has suffered 40 seconds of log file sync in the interval. You've recorded roughly 1,500 transactions in the interval (0.91 per second, of which about 13% were rollbacks) - so your log file sync time has averaged more than 6.5 seconds per commit.
    Whichever way you look at it, this suggests that either the log file sync figures are wrong, or you have had a temporary hardware failure. Given that you've had a few buffer busy waits and control file write waits of about 900 m/s each, the hardware failure seems likely.
    Check log file parallel write times to see if this helps to confirm the hypothesis. (Unfortunately some platforms don't report liog file parallel wriite times correctly for earlier versions of 9.2 - so this may not help.)
    You also have 15 enqueue waits averaging 1.2 seconds - check the enqueue stats section of the report to see which enqueue this was: if it was (e.g. CF - control file) then this also helps to confirm the hardware hypothesis.
    It's possible that you had a couple of hardware resets or something of that sort in the interval that stopped your system quite dramatically for a minute or two.

  • Silverlight fills up system.log file

    In order to watch the NBC Olympics, I had to install Silverlight. I had hesitation and now know why. While the player seems to play just fine and all, it is kicking massive error messages to the system.log file. It fills many megabytes and therefore the daily syslog rotation runs bzip2 for a long time each night.
    Here is a sampling from my system.log file, using Safari 4.0.4 on OS-X 10.6.2.

    Notice it exceeds over 500 messages a second. Anyway to mute these messages???

    The problem with just deleting the file, is two fold.
    First, the system needs this file to continue to post system messages. If you delete it, or just trash it, the system will just continue to add to the trashed file using the open file pointers, or simply create a new one.
    Second, Silverlight will continue to generate messages, and ultimately still go into the system.log. Deleting the file is not such a good idea while the operating system is still using it.
    I recommend doing the following to clear the file without deleting it:
    You'll need to Enable the root user on your computer if you haven't yet. Search other threads for how to do this on your version of OS-X.
    In Terminal, log in as root.
    username$ sudo -i
    Change to the /var/log folder.
    root# cd /var/log
    Use the truncate function to simply zero out the file.
    root# >system.log
    You'll need to do this everyday, after running Silverlight, hopefully BEFORE the daily log rotating cron scripts try to rotate the logs and perform a bzip compression of the file (which will tax your system for a few hours). You may want to find any log files ending in .bz2 and remove those. You can delete those, as they are just archives of old system log files and are not used any more.
