Utilisation de Measurement studio pour VB6

bonjour,
Merci

  • How can I obtain a scope like presentation using measurement studio and VB?

I would like to use the scope active X control provided in Measurement Studio to provide an oscilloscope presnetation of data acquired using the NI 6110 high speed digitizer boards.
    Is this possible?
Some sample code would be helpful.  I am used to setting up virtual channels in the Measurement and automation software and then referencing the virtual channel number in the properties of the active x control in VB.  I can't figure out how to accomplich this with the scope active x control.
    Thanks

    Hello Cubby!
I am assuming when you say you want to use the Scope ActiveX control in
VB6 that you are refering too the IVISCOPE activeX control.  This
control will allow you to have the O-Scope type interface with little
to no programming.   Please notice this will be different
then using MAX because you will need to have an IVI session of your
    scope set up.
After Adding this component to your project simply lay it on the
form.  Next in the property page associated with the control find
the 'Custom' property.  Click on the '...' button inside the
property which will bring up a attribute page.  Finally, select
your IVI scope session that was configured in MAX or if your using an
NI scope board enter the resource in the DAQ::x::INSTR format.  To
verify that everything is setup correctly click on the 'Configuration'
tab and click the Verify button.
    For further help see....

If you have more questions please feel free to ask.  I could not
locate any example code,  but you should be able to get it working
by simply configuring the control correctly.  Have a great day!

  • Why am I getting eval controls with licensed version of Measurement Studio?

I attempted to use the datasocket 4.0 and UI 7.0 control in Visual Basic 6. Both controls are labeled "Eval", and after 30 days, I got the "controls will work for 5 minutes" message. I have a licensed version of Measurement Studio and cannot understand why the contols are evaluation. I tried the ActiveX License Fixer Utility and no controls show up in ANY pane of the utility.
    I have done the following:
    1) Uninstalled Measurement Studio
    2) unregistered the controls and nids.dll
    3) Reinstalled Measurement Studio
    4) Installed Measurement Studio on a new PC with no previuos NI software. The same issue occurs

    kwd,
The reason that you are still seeing the evaluation message is that you have not yet installed licensed controls. You have Measurement Studio 7.0, which is for .NET and includes assemblies with UI controls and analysis functions for use with C# and VB.NET. However, since you have the enterprise edition, you should also have a second CD that says "Measurement Studio Enterprise Support for Visual Studio 6.0" and this is the CD that will install the ActiveX controls for use with VB6. Once you run through the install of this CD, you will then have a license copy of the Measurement Studio controls and if you still get the message, then run the license fixer one more time and you will see the appropriate controls. Please repost if you have any questions. Thanks and have a good one.

  • You have called a function or method requiring a measurement studio

Thought I'd give the CWDSP.FFT a try and I'm getting the following error:
    runtime error 30008
You have called a function or method requiring a measurement studio product for which you are not licensed...
Is it not included as part of the Prefessional edition (rev 009 2009.08.11)?
    TIA,
       Ken

There is some question as to what the version it actually is. The box has a label on it with the info in my first post, the manual that came in the box says 8.5. Add and remove has no version info. But, the control itself when calling the .aboutbox pops up a dialog that says v6 (590).
This is happening in VB6 (SP6).
Note that the same thing is happening on my partners machine. Same version of NI  Measurement Studio. Neither of us are having problems with the .net version of the library.

  • Measurement studio 7 & imaq

does measurement studio 7 make using imaq any easier?

Measurement Studio 7.0 does not include specific support for IMAQ. Measurement Studio 7.0 does include data types that make using ActiveX controls easier, but I assume that you are not asking about that type of general support.
There is an IMAQ/Vision Module for Measurement Studio. This module includes native VB6 support in the form of ActiveX controls. This module also includes CVI support. In the future, we will consider adding support for additional languages.
What language are you interested in? VB6, C++, VB.NET, C#?

    - which  kind of data I will receive over ethernet raw, scaled..
    - is it possible to select one particular board of AI?

  • Measurement Studio help reference no longer works correctly.

I've recently loaded a new version of MSDN (Oct. 2001) and Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0(the latest as of July 2003. Now the hyperlinks in the Measurement Studio Reference give an error that indicates it cannot no longer find the linked information.

The help file problem was due to a missing Microsoft update that had not been installed on my system.
The problem arose because Microsoft had fixed a security vulnerability in the IE. Their security fix caused the "side effects" I described and which needed a patch. In essense, I had one update that caused a problem, but did not get the second update to fix the first problem,.
The missing Microsoft update immediately fixed the help files' non-working hyperlink problem.
Thank you very much for taking the time to look into the help file problem I was having.

  • Synchronization of PCI devieces via the RTSI bus using the measurement studio for Viusual Basic 6

    Hi everyone,
I would like to synchronize a NI 4474 A/D card with a NI 6733 D/A card via the RTSI bus. Is there any way of sharing the timebase using the measurement studio for VB 6.0? It seems like it could be possible using the traditional NI-DAQ .DLL but I would prefer to do it with the ActiveX API.
I am quite desperate, since all my attempts to use the CWDAQTools1.RouteSignal and CWDAQTools1.RouteRTSI command failed miserably :-(
Thank you very much in advance!
    Federico

    Thank you very much indeed!
Unfortunately it doesn't really work... I cannot use the DI options since my A/D card (NI 4474) does not support DI/DO... When using the other option (CWDAQTools1.RouteRTSI) I keep getting an error message that this command is inapropriate for my device (even though it does have a RTSI bus and allegedly it also supports time sharing...)
    Looking forward to your answer!
    Kind regards

  • NiReport not available on Measurement Studio 8.6?

    Hi!
I have updated my development environment to Microsoft VisualStudio 2008 and installed as well measurement studio.
NiReport is not recognised anymore in this version.
I was using before Microsoft Visual C++ 2003 and Measurement Studio 8.1.
My programs are not compiling anymore because of this missing file.
Has NiReport been deprecated? Is there a way to make it working with a macro?
Thanks in advance for your help!

  • How can I use Measurement Studio components in SharpDevelop?

I tried to use NationalInstruments.UI.WindowsForms.Led in sharpdevelop (http://www.icsharpcode.net) and I got a message about the product not being licensed for use with this program. Is it possible to attain licensing for use with sharpdevelop or is Visual Studio .NET required?

SharpDevelop does not support the .NET Framework licensing model (particularly LicenseManager and LicenseContext), so unfortunately there is not a way to use licensed controls in the current version (0.99b) of the SharpDevelop Windows Forms designer.
Visual Studio .NET is the recommended environment for the Measurement Studio UI controls. Another option is Borland's C# Builder, which also has a Personal edition that is free for non-commercial development and can be downloaded from the C# Builder downloads page.

  • Measurement Studio with TFS Build Server

    Hello,
I searched for both a FAQ and specific answers, so I hope I'm asking my question in the correct place.
I am using the Enterprise version of Measurement Studio, and want to start a continuous build process using Team Foundation Server.  Adding the NI DLLs to my repository and setting the references isn't sufficient.  I get the following error:
    (CompileLicxFiles target) ->
Properties\licenses.licx(4): error LC0004: Exception occurred creating type 'NationalInstruments.Restricted.AnalysisLicenser, NationalInstruments.Analysis.Enterprise, Version=9.0.35.292, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=18cbae0f9955702a' System.DllNotFoundException: The NI License Manager client DLL was not found. Reinstall NI License Manager.
Hence my question:  Is there a best practice or documented method to configure Measurement Studio to compile with the TFS Build Server?
    Thank you,
    Mike

i recently began using jenkins as a build system (we develop not only in c# but also java, python and php for websites) and installed the full measurement studio on the buildserver. the only problem that occured after that was, that LC.exe sometimes stops working, so i wrote a 10 line autoit script to automatically close that window and now everything works as expected.
maybe you should try to install measurement studio on your buildserver?

  • Measurement Studio

    Nat. Inst Folks -
I can't believe you're not getting dozens of complaints about this. Your Measurement Studio .NET installer is toasting the normal include paths for Visual C++. This makes Visual C++ unable to find system include files like , and hence unable to compile anything! This is a serious bug and needs to be corrected immediately.
To see the problem, on a machine without Measurement Studio installed.
    1) Open Visual Studio 2003 .NET.
    2) Select Tools->Options, "Projects" tab, "Show Directories For" pulldown to "Include," platform to Win32.
Note that there are at least five install paths there, $(VCInstallDir)include and several others. Also select the "Show Directories For" pulldown to "Libs" and note that there'
s several library paths in there.
These are critical for Visual Studio's proper functioning in C++. Without them, even the most basic Visual C++ (or even C) program will fail to compile because it can't find it's system headers.
    3) Now quit VS, install Measurement Studio, then look in the same places again. Note that Measurement Studio has not APPENDED its paths (as it should), but has instead REPLACED the paths that were there with its own. This is a fairly small bug, but with serious consequences.
This is not something that most Visual C++ programmers will know to check, and manually restoring them is REALLY tedious, since cut-and-paste doesn't work in that dialog and it involves typing precision path names in small hard-to-read fonts.
Please address this issue promptly: Because of system work on our tools, we end up having to reinstall the software multiple times a month; this issue dramatically lengthens the amount of time and effort necessary to do this (the 40 min
ute Measurement Studio install process doesn't help much, either).

    John,
we have not heard of any other customers having this problem, nor have we been able to reproduce it here. However, I have some suspicions about what might be causing the problem.
Visual Studio looks for C++ directories for include, lib, and executable files. It first looks for a file called VCComponents.dat, located in the directory
    :\Documents and Settings\\local settings\Application Data\Microsoft\VisualStudio\7.1
If this file does not exist, or is empty, Visual Studio looks in the registry for its directories at:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\VisualStudio\7.1\VC\VC_OBJECTS_PLATFORM_INFO\Win32\Directories
If the VCComponents.dat file does not exist, viewing the C++ directories in the "Options" dialog and clicking "OK" causes it to be created. When the file is created, Visual Studio populates it with the directories from the registry. Note that if the file exists and is empty, this process will not change the file's contents - it will still be empty.
MeasurementStudio appends its directories to those already existing int the VCComponents.dat file. I believe what is happening on your system is this:
    1) You have a VCComponents.dat file, but it is empty. This causes visual studio to look in its registry keys for the directories.
    2) After installation MeasurementStudio sees that the file in present, and appends it directories to it. Since the file was empty, the only things in it now are the MeasurementStudio directories.
    3) Because the VCComponents.dat file is no longer empty, Visual Studio relies solely on its content for the include, lib, and path directories from then on.
To confirm this, can you send me a copy of your VCComponents.dat file BEFORE you install MeasurementStudio on the system? The file is located at:
    :\Documents and Settings\\local settings\Application Data\Microsoft\VisualStudio\7.1
This will help us to get a better idea of why your system is ending up in a strange state.

  • Is it possible to statically link the MFC lib with a Measurement Studio App?

I get the following link warnings, and the app jumps off to code-never-never-land (0xFFFE...)when it exits.
