Utilizing the Audit Feature in Data Integrator

when using the audit feature within Data Integrator, I am attempting to pass the Label values to a function that would basically insert the value for that label into a column in a table.  I have been unable to pass the label value out of the audit to either a Print function or an 'SQL' function.  Does anyone know if this is possible?  Is there a work around?  Thanks in advance!  -Ken

Ken,
You can use the audit labels in a Print() or sql() function, but you need to do this in the script area in the Audit feature. Outside the Audit window, the variables that contain the audit values are not known. I just did a quick test and it works fine for me.
An alternative would be to query the repository to retrieve this information. Audit labels and their values for each run ar stored in the tables AL_AUDIT and AL_AUDIT_INFO. There's some more detail in the Reference Guide >> Metadata in Repository tables and views >> Auditing Metadata

  • Query on Enabling the Audit Feature

I started exploring DSP a week ago through the help of the sample tutorials which BEA has provided.
But I am not able to figure out how to enable the Audit feature through the Admin console...
My Audit console is emtpy and shows a blank page.I even checkled the audit console in ldplatform>RTLApp which even shows a blank page
Is there need for some kind of setting..Please help me to
    enable the auditing

Audit information will appear in the 'Output' panel in the Test View and the Query Plan View after executing if the application is Audit enabled and the audit 'Severity (threshhold) Level' is set such that audit events are generated. (i.e. if you have the Severity Level set to Failure, then audit events will not be generated for events that specify 'Info')
There is no 'Audit Console' for DSP.

  • Tuning the validation transform in Data Integrator

    Hi,
We have to bring 21 million records from a table to a new table using validation transform.
We are selecting PK and putting a validation condition "Exists in a table " on it. The secondary table selected is the target table and we are taking Failed records and passing them to the target table.
So here we have a source table, we are taking failed records from validation transform having Existing in a table condition. The table selected here is the target table itself.
Its taking a lot of time.
Please pour in some suggestion to improve its performance. We have to track the changes in daily basis in this table and the source table doesn't have last updated/timstamp.

There are two possible problems here:  one is that you are processing all of this data outside of the database when you should be pushing the work down to the database.   If you must use the validation transform then you can try outer joining to the target table prior to the validation step.   Simply add another query transform prior to the validation transform and add the target table in again as a source. Then outer join to the (source) target table (on PK) and add the target table PK to the output from the new query transform.
Then you can check the target table PK for null in your validation transform.  If it's null, it doesn't exist in the target.
The other problem might be related to the database.   Because you are reading and writing from the same table in this dataflow (the target table) you may be experiencing locking and/or some kind of bottleneck with the transaction logs.
To correct this, try staging the data in a different table after you run in through the validation transform and then, in a new dataflow, move the data to the target table.  (you could also use a Data Transfer Transform to accomplish this).

  • ** Regarding Oracle Data Integrator Companion 11gR1(11.1.1.7.0)

    Hi Experts,
I would like to Know regarding..
Oracle Data Integrator Companion 11gR1 (11.1.1.7.0)
Includes: Oracle Data Integrator Application Adapters for Hadoop, Oracle Applications, SAP ERP and BW (Hadoop is Newly added when compared with the older versions)
Which i found in the oracle downloads link and so i want to know the below points
    1) What is the use of Oracle Data Integrator Companion 11gR1 (11.1.1.7.0)
    2) if it is something like an additional adapter tool to be installed to access, where and how we need to install.
I would like to get the complete details and usage of this particular Oracle Data Integrator Companion 11gR1 (11.1.1.7.0).
Request you to kindly guide me..
    Awaiting your inputs.
    Many Thanks,
    Pavan Kumar

    Hi Pavan,
Oracle Data Integrator Companion 11gR1 (11.1.1.7.0) contains additional adapters for use with Hadoop, SAP etc which does not come with normal installation. However, you will need license for industry use of these adapters. This is especially good for a developer. However for server installs you must use one of the normal installers which additionally comes with Java EE agent capabilities which may not be the case with Companion.
Speaking of Installation procedure, this works with a simple extraction of the zip file and does not come with an installer.
Additionally, it comes with ODI Demo Environment with a local HSQL repository which can be used for training and learning purposes.
Functionally, for a developer there is no difference between normal and companion install.

  • How to codepages in Data Integrator

Data Integrator sets the codepage at the job server and the datastore layer. Each job server, which is the Data Integrator "engine" where all of the processing takes place, has a single codepage. In addition, each datastore has its own codepage. The datastore codepage is set via the "locale" of the datastore. Because Data Integrator allows each datastore to have its own codepage, you can build a single job which will read from and/or load into datastores with multiple different codepages.

1st step: create your schema on your database, you can create one schema for both repositories (master and work) or you can create one schema for each repository.
    2nd step: execute repcreate.bat
3rd step: run topology and create one or more work repositories.
You can also read the "Installation Guide" let us know if you have any issue.

  • Data integrator and informatic

    Hi There
does any one know the difference between informatic and data integartor? if someone has informatic skill, could it be easy to transfer to data integrator?
    thanks

First of all, Data Integrator is not a reporting tool, it is an ETL tool from SAP BO.
    1) When we go for Data Integrator and Rapid marts
    2) What is the importance of Data Integrator
    3) Can you give a scenario for Data Integrator and Rapid marts..
Rapid Mart is a pre-built information component, that use DI as an ETL tool which extracts data
from different source systems like SAP, Peoplesoft, Oracle, Siebel & JD Edwards, integrating and
    loading into datamarts.
The analytic datamarts(pre defined data warehouse application) focused on different subject areas..
such as Sales, HR, Inventory, Accounts etc..
    4) what are the basics required to know Data Integrator
    Data Warehouse and ETL concepts.
    5) What is the land scape of Data Integrator
    6) What are Advatages and Dis advantages of Data Integrator.
Data Integrator allows to develop data warehouse applications in both Batch and Real-Time job mode
Data Integrator manages the data from heterogeneous and homogeneous sources and transforms the data
according to business logic, integrates into single data source for analysis.
It extracts the data from operational source systems and external source systems typically like RDBMS,
Flat files, XML files, XML Messages, SAP IDocu2019s, PeopleSoft, Siebel etc

  • Data Integrator & SAP BW

    Hi Expoerts,
What's the advantage of using Data Integrator to load R/3 data into SAP BW instead of the BW ETL process?
    Kind regards,
    Andrew

    Hi,
I don't know the actual version. at that time the name was acta works.
    advantage? I don't know someone.
    You dont' have
    - a nice monitoring
    - a integration to process chains/to your data flows (eventing)
    - you must install/control a new server/system
    - you must learn a new development
    - the generated abap is very bad.
    - you come quickly to the development limits of the tool

  • Real Advantages of Data Integrator integrated with SAP

    Hi
Can anybody please tell me what is the real advantages of Data Integrator reading from SAP R3 / ECC and performing ETL to SAP BW 7.
I do not know enough on the intergration between the two systems. I have a perspective client looking at the solotion but needs some motivation.
    Thanks

I would definitely not go down that route. There is good R/3 to BW integration, without BODI in the middle. In this scenario I would see BODI as overhead only, which will slow your development down and will show your day to day load processes down. I can't see any benefit at all.
If you have complicated transformations, use ABAP in your transformations. That is much more powerful than scripting on the BODI side.
If you do use BODI you will find it a struggle first to extract data from R/3 and then to load data into BW. You probably end up creating a lot of extra objects on both sides just to make BODI work. BODI will certainly not make your load processes better performing and from a maintenance point of view I don't see any benefits at all.
Maybe in the future when BODI has a better integration with both R/3 and BW it might become useful, but at this point in time I fail to see any benefits.
I would only use BODI if I wanted to integrate data from various platforms, not for a single (SAP) platform.
I would advise against a scenario using BODI for loading R/3 to BW.
    I hope this helps...

  • Migrating from flash CS5.5 - Advice re: data integration

Hi I am used to using flash and now I am moving to Flex. I have been told its for real developers and the best route for data integration.
I have an online learning management system where all the data goes into a mysql database. I want to create a dashboard that clients(schools) can log into and see information about their students progress.
I am about to go through tutorials on lynda.com but there seem to be so many differentt ways that I am confused.
Do I use Flex through flashbuilder + php or zendserver with php etc... I have read flex services, php services, web services, http services and I am confused.
I only want a simple dashboard.
Thanks for any clarification in advance. I am also a total newbie so will have to learn xmls from scratch. I am pretty good at OOP AS3.

So based upon your answers it looks like I may be better off in flash as I know it pretty well. I can use the datagrid component etc...
I was worried if I got up to more than 100-1000 concurrent users (school networks) etc... it might make a difference.
It just seems that I read so much about flex being the way to go for data handling.

  • How to use the "identify" feature in new 6.3.1 airport utility?

how to use the "identify" feature in new 6.3.1 airport utility?
so you can find the basestations in larger networks?

There is a workaround, which is to use Airport Utility 5.6.
I can confirm that 5.6 will run on 10.8.4 Mountain Lion, it will recognize the new 2013 Airport Extreme Base Station (A1521) running firmware 7.7.1, and it will give you access to view the device's Log & Statistics, DHCP Clients, and Profiles.
    Four caveats:
    1) The easiest way to install it is to download the app itself, not an installer or through the App Store. There is a page here where you can download the app: http://coreyjmahler.com/2013/03/08/airport-utility-5-6-on-os-x-v10-8-mountain-li on/ This way, you still have both versions, Airport Utility 6.x.x and 5.6.
    2) When you launch 5.6, you'll get a message saying a newer version is available and asking if you want to update. Click Cancel to proceed into the utility.
    3) When you click the Manual Setup button in 5.6, you'll get a warning dialog that "This version of AirPort Utility doesn't support this AirPort wireless device and might improperly configure the device if you continue to use it. Check www.apple.com/support/airport for the latest version of AirPort Utility." You can click Continue to get into the utility without issue.
    4) You should probably only use 5.6 to view the additional status details. I have not tried to modify and save any AEBS settings using 5.6. There are other discussions here in the forums indicating that attempting to save settings via 5.6 that are no longer available in 6.3.1 will not actually save the settings to the AEBS even if both utilities indicate that the settings are changed. See https://discussions.apple.com/message/22677993#22677993
So, even though you can't use it to modify settings no longer available in Airport Utility 6.3.1, using Airport Utility 5.6 to view DHCP clients, Logs and Statistics is very useful for troubleshooting network issues.
PS - There are two ways to get to the DHCP Clients list, neither of which is obvious The first is to go to the Airport pane -> Summary tab and click on the "Wireless Clients:" label in the Summary display. All of the labels from "Wireless Mode:" down on the Summary display operate as links to view/edit the corresponding info/settings, which is also not obvious at first glance. Also not obvious, clicking on "Wireless Clients:" actually brings up a new pane with three tabs: Logs, Wireless Clients, and DHCP Clients. You can also get to the same pane by going to the Advanced pane and clicking on the Logs and Statistics button.
I hope this is helpful information. Took me a while to find out how to do this.

  • HT4356 Fillable pdf in Adobe Acrobat Professional X but when I try to use the Airprint feature the form print minus the field data, have anyone been able to resolve this issue?

I have developed a fillable pdf in Adobe Acrobat Professional X but when I try to use the Airprint feature the form print minus the field data, have anyone been able to resolve this issue?

    Hi,
I had a similar problem and found help for it. Go to the "Advanced" menu and select Extend features in Adobe Reader. That will enable rights which may resolve your problem. If that doesn't work, there is a really helpful guy in here, Robert Levine. You may want to ask him directly.
    Good Luck

  • Validate Date if it falls within 30, 120 and 365 days of the audit date I enter on any given day

PDF Forms in Acrobat 9 Pro
When auditing a file, I enter the date I am auditing it.
    Example: 02/18/2015
I then enter dates of when information was last verified. Some of these dates need to fall within 30 days of the audit date I enter on any give day and others need to fall within 120 days and another within 365 days. If they don't fall within the specified number of days for that field, I would like it to give an error message in that filled.
    Examples:
    College Grad Date 01/15/2015
    Certification Date  12/23/2015
License Date  02/13/2014 - This is over 365 days so I do not want the date, I want it to display "Need to re-verify"
I do not have any inkling of an idea of how to write this. Your help would be most appreciated.
    Thank you.

Solved the problem- I contacted apple on their support line found on this page... http://www.apple.com/uk/support/mac/ and they were really helpful and talked me through what to do on the phone, I now have all three productivity apps. Hope this helps
