UWL Customization to get selected Work Items

Hi,
I am trying to get only selected Work Items in my UWL. I have tried modifying the XML file as per the link below but that didnt help . I am still getting all the work items in my UWL. I am using EP7 with SP13

Hi all,
Is there any function module which would return parent work item ID base on child work item ID?
My situation is that I have a workflow W1 which starts sub workflow W2. I know the id of currently u2018In processu2019 work item of the sub workflow W2. Now I would like to get two things.
- Work item ID of the parent sub workflow template W2
- Work item ID of the top level workflow template W1

Info when you need to find Manually is as below
Goto SWI1 tcode, enter the work item id that you have.
Then select the workflow log(Shift + F8) from the menu.
In the workflow log, select the "List with Technical details"(Shift+F9).
This provides you all the details with work item IDs that you are looking for.
However if you are looking for this info programmatically.
A function module like SWW_WIS_HEADER_READ can help getting the info.

Webpart - Get selected list items

All,
I have a SharePoint list and a webpart located above it. In the webpart, I have a button. Is there a way to know the selected list items when user clicks on the button?
For example, I have a Company list which contains Company A, B, C, and D. User has selected Company A and D. When user clicks on the button of the webpart, could the webpart know that Company A and D has been selected?

UWL - direct URL needed for work items

We have NetWeaver Portal EP7 and use the UWL for work items from the ECC6 backend system. The work items appear as expected and users can process them correctly.
I now have a requirement for a direct portal URL for each work item that appears in the UWL so that it can be accessed directly instead of via the UWL. However, I'm struggling in my attempts to find or construct such a URL.
I would appreciate any help to resolve this.

We have an ECC 6.0 EHP3 with a EP 7 (Netweaver 2004s SP18). We use the UWL.
The issue is when we try to open a taks in the UWL that launch a transaction in the ECC, it can´t open, show this error:
Transaction SWK1+WI_ID=000000005 is unknown
This is because in the parameter "DynamicParameter" it pass the value "wi_id%3D000000005004". It can´t resolve "%3D" and change it for "=" so lost the last 3 characteres, try to opens the WI_ID=000000005 instead the WI_ID=000000005004.

Hi,
This looks like an OBN error, Check the standard note 1386141 for this type of errors.
Did you applied any new business packages or upgraded the portal.?

Hi Anusha,
This error is related to OBN (Object Based Navigation) but not pertains to UWL actually. Please firstly check Note#1386141 - There is no iView available for system "XYZ", object "ABC" see if it applicable.
In addtion, make sure the following notes from PA-PD-PM component are implemented in case they are applicable:
Notes:
1408243 - Configuration for object-based navigation.
1416756 - OBN Configuration in Performance Management.
For further investigation:
1. What is the OBN target that the user expects to be launched as result of the OBN action ? Let me know the target iView name and its full screenshots of iView Editor in the Object-Based Navigateion view.
2. Ensure the relevant operation appears in the table.
3. Please refer to Note#1558903 to collect a HttpWatch trace while reproduce the issue again, save the trace as .hwl format and attach here.

Displaying URL (in work item description) as Hyperlink in UWL

Hi experts,
I have successfully configured my UWL to retrieve and display work items under "Tasks" tab.
However some of the work items contain a URL which I would like to display as a hyperlink (i.e. clicking on the hyperlink opens a new browser window and takes the user to the specified location). Currently the UWL displays these URL as plain text.
I tried to add HTML tags: <a href="http://www.abc.com">http://www.abc.com</a> to denote the URL as a hyperlink. The URL was correctly interpreted as a hyperlink on SAP inbox (transaction code SBWP). However, when it is accessed via UWL, the HTML tags are incorrectly displayed in plain text.
Please kindly advise whether any configuration can be done to the UWL such that it will correctly recognize and display the URL as a hyperlink. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Lionel,
You can't directly do what you want with the workitem text, but there is perhaps a workaround. If you make the URL available as an element in the workitem container and include it in the text that way, you will preserve the original functionality, but more importantly you will then be able to configure a custom action in the UWL which refers to this URL. The result will be visible to your users as a seperate link or button in UWL.

You are not a receiver of the work item in ESS Leave

Hi,
We are using standard ESS leave application in our portal, where employee can raise leave and his manager can approve/reject his leave. But I want in case manager rejects the leave, the rejected leave should not come into MSS UWL of employee, we will send a mail to employee and he can again login to ESS leave application and where he will see the rejected leave and he can re apply/change/delete the rejected leave. We do not want rejected leave to come in UWL of employee as a work item.
As of now when manager rejects the leave rejected leave of an employee , it is coming in UWL of the employee which we do not want, so what we did, we went to standard leave work flow template WS12300111, in that we double clicked on Task (TS12300116, Process Request by Employee) and in that we clicked on agent assignment icon and than we clicked on attribute and we selected General forwarding not allowed radio button, by default general task radio button was selected.
After selecting General forwarding not allowed radio button, even when manager rejects employee leave, rejected leave is not coming in UWL of employee which we want exactly, but another error is coming when employee goes to ESS leave application again and change or delete this rejected leave he is getting the error You are not a receiver of the work item .
But if we select general task radio button in agent assignment in work flow , than eveything is working fine but employee is getting rejected leave in his UWL, that we do not want at all, so why after selecting different radio button this error is coming ?
Why employee is getting this error, why employee can not reapply/change his rejected leave. Is this portal error OR workflow error OR HR configuration error and what is the solution for this..

If you need this option then you need to change the WF Task.
General Forwarding Not Allowed
This indicator enables you to determine that work items for this task can only be forwarded to users who are agents for the task.
If this indicator is not set, a work item for this task can be forwarded to all users.
The best way to take care of User
Forwaring authorization is the Task Classification (PFTC -> Additional
Data -> Classification). Classify tasks with General Forwarding Not
allowed, will give you the oppotunity to let the user allow to forward
items JUST to the Possible Agents Assigned to the task
(Additional Data -> Agent Assingment -> Maintain)...
Clear that everything depends on How you have developed your workflows
definitions. In that cases the best think to do is
create Different Tasks definition (TSxxxxxx) and let they start
depending on Company Code (That can be driven via Conditions steps in
the workjflow definition, for example). This will allow you to define
Just the responsible Agents per each task, depending on the Companny
Code. This definitively Resolve the Forwarding frelated Question.

How to stop workitem complete or how to keep work item in inbox based on conditions even if it completed

my requirement is to call webdyn pro screen from workflow..
i am calling webdynpro screen by using FM :CALL_BROWSER from workflow.
when webdyn pro screen is called user will enter some values . if user closed webdyn pro screen with out entering any values we need show this workitem in his inbox. so that user can again open it and enter values in the webdyn pro screen.
Please help how to stop work item complete based on conditions.

As per my understanding, this is not a proper approach toy call web dynpro using FM CALL_BROWSER. is the web dynpro screen being called when user clicks on the work item from portal UWL OR from SAP SBWP ?
if you are calling web dynpro screen from portal UWL when user clicks on work item link, better you achieve it using SWFVISU tcode. in SWFVISU tcode you can maintain which web dynpro. application to call when particualr work item task come in user's inbox. in your web dynpro code, then you can write your buisiness logic when user clicks for example SUBMIT/SAVE button. on action submit/save button you can use FM SAP_WAPI_WORKITEM_COMPLETE to complete the worktiem once the user clicks on final submit/save button. in this way the workitem will get removed from user inbox only upon clicking on submit/save button.

HCM Processes and Forms: Work Item is not opening

Hi,
We are implementaing HCM processes and forms using NWBC (EHP7 - HR Renewal 2.0 FP1) and after using configuration of POWL inbox for MSS and HR Admin, We are not able to launch the Work Item.
1) In MSS Work Book, while launching, we are getting message -
Failed to resolve Object Based Navigation target ".MSS_WL.NAVIGATE_FORM_WD". Use transaction PFCG to define this OBN target in a role or contact your system administrator to assign a role with the relevant OBN entries to your user.
2) For HR Admin, we are getting message - Work Item can only be open using Portal and UWL. and it is displaying back end transaction SWNWIEX.
Detail configuration steps are shown as below -
Workflow Task used in configurations -
1) Entries in IBO_C_WF_TA_P_SC (Assign Task ID’s to POWL Types)
2) IBO_C_WF_ACC configuration - (Define Tasks and Actions)
3) IBO_C_WF_APC configuration (Provide Details of navigation parameters)
4) IBO_V_WF_TTAC (Assignment of Actions to the Tasks)
5) IBO_C_WF_TAC (Specify Default Action)

How to determine (sub)work-item in bpm

is there a way to determine the actual workitem in a bpm. I want to map this workitem in a xml-structure and send to a receiver just for log function.

i dont know any standard way to get the work item no into the XML. But for your case should the message ID enough, coz you select the message and click on link PE to navigate to the work item.

I am Displaying work items with some details like work flow item text ,user ,agent and all
Her along with these i need to display responsibility object(OTYPE = RY) mapped with work item ..
For this i have Responisbility (HRS1000-stext) and responsibility object(HRp1240-objid) on selection screen .
So finally i need to relate these responsibility and responsibility object and work item ..

And when i go to HRP1218 No records for the OBJID from HRP1001.Is it the data problem ..
If i have the records in HRP1218 ,if we pass the TABNR in HRT1218 ..can i get the work item with TABNR.
Becuase when i see in HRT1218 all records have PLANT as re field .
