UWL: No return to UWL after workitemcompletition

Dear Forum,
we implement ESS & MSS in EP 6.0 SP 13 with KMC.
We have the problem , that after the user selects a new workitem ( approval of absence e.g. )in the UWL and completes it, a "beautiful" ITS-Message shows up ( Thank you for using ITS ) . What we want is, that the Workitemwindow closes and a refreshed UWL is shown.
I have configured the Launchconfig to open the Workitem in a new Window. In addition i have configured the ~ExitURL ( in the ITS Global Service...) to a file which contains the following:

</body>
</html>
What now happens is, that:
the WI shows up in a new window (as desired)
when the WI is finished, this new Window blanks out but does not closes.
( Starting the WI-Processing ITS-service directly in the browser, the window closes after finishing the WI )
In EP 6.0 SP 2 the window closed. How to get this behavior back for SP 13 ?
I've read some other threads regarding similar topics, but found no solution. Also in the UWL-How-To.
Has anybody solved this issue already ?

Hi folks,
i have currently a SAPNet-Message running on this issue, but until now no solution.
The cause for the difference between the behavior of SP2 and SP13 seems to be in the fact , that in SP13 the IAC is called within an IFRAME - even if it is openened within a new window. window.close() then just blanks out the IFRAME. parent.window.close or top.window.close doesn't work , because of "access denied" as the iFrame runs an ITS-Application on another server, and is therefore not allowed to close the window of the Portal.
Has anybody any other solution to achieve the "Return to the UWL" ?
currently this issue is a showstopper for switching to the new portalversion...

I Need to Delete a task in the UWL after approval
Scenario:
I have developed the mss/pcr adobe forms inthe place of standard adobe forms i have configured the customized adobe forms which i have developed in Webdynpro for Java
So in mss/pcr application we have two levels of approval
First
Intiator will enter the data and he will submit the form then it will goto the manager UWL
Second
Manager will click on the task(these task ids i have configured in SWFVISU) .And next one more form will be opened with the updated data and manager will approve it and he will click on the approve button then that form should not be in the UWL
But I dont know what are the settings i need to do for that .
Please help me in this .

Workitem showed up in UWL after 2 days of creation

Hi friends,
I got an issue reg. workitems. A workitem is showed up in users UWL after 2 days of its creation. The workflow will send workitems for the approval to multiple usres when status is changed. Now teh issue is, teh status has been changed on a particular day, but teh user got the workitem to his UWL after 2 days of status change.The workflow is working fine and we didnt find such issue till now.
Could any one tell me what might be the possible reasons and ways to check for teh delay. ( We have checked with the users SBWP- Business workplace and there is only one entry in that. so this is surely not the reason for delay ).

Hi,
The workitem in R3 will not appear in UWL automatically, UWL configuration has to be done for bring the new workitem from the R3 to UWL, the refresh duration in the UWL will be given 2 days in your case.
Sol. Change it to 5 Seconds, then this problem will be solved.

Open the UWL iView, there will be a parameter named 'Path to the UWL iViews' which needs to be set to 'portal_content/every_user/general/uwl'

Sales Return from Customer after 180 days

Hi,
I have a requirement on sales return, if the return is done after 180 days, government does not allow to adjust the respective tax amount relating to that return goods.
For example:/sales invoice:
Customer Dr 110
Tax Cr 10
Sales Cr 100
In case of return this entry will reversed (if it is partial partial amount will be reversed).
Requirement:
If the return is happened after 180 days, tax reverse can not be accepted.
In this case what is the scenario.
1. Is this tax amount goes to Tax expnese account (Dr P/L account)
2. Is this tax amount added to Material Stock value
Please update me which more details.

Perhaps Note 34526 - Delivery free of charge and value-added tax will suggest you a solution. You must handle it with a VOFM in the pricing procedure.

The value of the selected row's Display column ("Choice B", for example) is not stored in the field -- only the value of the selected row's Value column ("2") is. With the DDLB's item list loaded the form is able to translate "2" (Value) to "Choice B" (Display) so you see "Choice B". With the DDLB's item list empty there is no way to translate "2" to "Choice B" so you see "2".
If you do not want to save the DDLB's item list with the form you would need to preserve the selected row's Display column in another, possibly hidden, field then use that to display the translated Value.

How to automatically actualize UWL after return from WebDYNPRO?

in the universal worklist (uwl) i have configured a workstep to open a Web Dynpro application instead of the SAP GUI. This works fine and i can process the Workflow.
But after processing of workstep I returns to the UWL using
WDPortalNavigation.navigateAbsolute(          "ROLES:portal_content/tm.eop.fd.eop_root/tm.eop.fd.content_root/tmcz.eop.fd.tmcz_root/tmcz.eop.fd.my_workspace/tmcz.eop.ro.my_workspace/my_workspace/tmcz.eop.iv.uwl",          WDPortalNavigationMode.SHOW_INPLACE,

In the UWL there is non relevant item (item that was processed in WebDynpro) and it angers users.
It is possible to actualize UWL automatically after return from WebDYNPRO application? WebDYNPRO is opened in the same window and frame as UWL.

Followed what vinay and Timo sugguested:
One solution is to use a af:dialog in the popup where you define a dialogListener to catch the outcome of the dialog and if it's OK you call your other method.
I wrote method code in back bean like this:

And it works: the adf table(Bill4NewReceiptPending) in the calling page will be refreshed after the dialog popup was closed!

What's more, I found even if I use bounded workflow calling instead of using popup dialog calling, the returnListener wasnot executed either.
And there is still a issue in the popup Dialog: The strange behavior of checkbox selection, see the thread:

I tried and put aside for some days, and have no idea yet.

GP Work Items are not coming in UWL after refresh the cache.

We are facing strange problem. We have cleared the UWL Cache for the GP connector and after that workitems releated to GP are not showing up into the UWL.
Any Idea.??

Hi Dheerendra,
Are you using Federation by any chance? I mean, your GP runs on one server and you are using the UWL on the other server via federation? If yes then please check if the federation has been configured correctly and is working fine.
The other thing you can check is that the GPConnector is deactivated by mistake. If yes, then activate it.
Another check can be done in the System Configuration of the System Alias you are using for the GPConnector. Check whther it is pointing the correct sustem configuration. check whether the connection tests to that system are successful.
Also check whether the GPWorkItemProvider Web Service is working.

Cannot see SWFVISU tasks in Portal UWL after re-registering

I am using EP7.01 SP3, ESS 1.0 SP 15, ECC6.
I do not see the tasks listed in SWFVISU in UWL even after registering the system alias in UWL Administrator. I have registered the alias on webflow connector, cleared cache. Logged off,
logged on and I still dont see the tasks.
I additionaly went to R3 transaction SWU_OBUF and synchronized the runtime buffer.
Then registered on UWL Admin, cleared cache.
Any ideas on this?

I have restarted the portal, but it still does not show the tasks especially the ones for leave.
The portal landscape is a Global Portal as the consumer and the HR Portal(ESS MSS and other packages are installed) as the provider.
Im trying this directly on the HR Portal.
Do you think the Global portal has an effect on this?
I need to find a solution for this, but as a workaround is it possible to add the leave itemtypes(there are 3 item types for leave) to the current UWL. For example:

New GP Task Items do not appear in UWL after clear item cache of GP System

HI, SDN Expert.
After I made some minor change in the GP configuration xml (changing the "createdate" format from "date" to "datetime"), I went to the Cache Administration Page to clear the item cache of my GPSystem. I went to register the item types for all system in the UWL Configuration Page.
After clearing the cache and register the item types, I started initiate some GP tasks, but now all the GP tasks are not appearing in the UWL any more.
I remembered last time the same thing has happened, but the GP tasks started appearing only after a few hours.
Now, it has been two hours wait, I still don't see my GP tasks re-appear.
I wonder any of you know whether this situation is normal? What is the root cause for this situation? And how do I fix this?

I appears that if you could get an instance of the system object then you could use the IAttributeSet interface methods:
"ISystem inherits the interface com.sap.portal.pcm.admin.IAttributeSet, which enables manipulation of its attributes. "
