UWL - preview area : display KM feedback

Hello everyone,
we have implemented the UWL to display only KM approval notifications. Most of these documents have received end- user feedback.
When a user selects the item in the UWL iView, the preview shows 'review: document_title', with the approve / reject buttons, as well as a 'display feedback' button.
However, we wish to show the document's feedback in the preview area, as soon as the item is selected in the UWL
Can this be achieved, and how can we modify the preview area?

Hi Roman,
you can overwrite the uwl XML element for this view.
if you want to have the preview closed, then use the correct action. You can see the possible actions, when you show the additional UWL information.

"Display Form" button not visible in UWL preview

Hi Friends,
We are implementing Travel module. The standard Workflow WS20000050 has a single level of approval. However, we wanted 2 level approval and so accordingly this was implemened.
Now we want a 3rd level of decision step to be approved by the traveldesk on recept of tickets.
Even the pdf form, which contains the travel details, needs to be visible. In the standard task TS20000118, the "Display Form" button is automatically visible in the UWL preview apart from the usual
"Approve" and "Reject" buttons.
However the content that needs to be shown to the traveldesk is different. To achieve this, i copied the standard task TS20000118 and changed only the task description. Rest everything including the parameters and binding remains same.
But for this task, the "Display Form" button is not visible.
1. Please advice on the possible reasons why this is happening ?
2. Is there any setting or any SPRO configuration wherin we need to
specify the tasks for whom the button needs to be displayed ?? or
Is it some portal side configuration ?

Hi Vijay,
Goto:
Universal Worklist Content Configuration -> Click to Administrate Item Types and View Definitions
In the table under the "Current Configurations" tab, select the standard travel configuration provided by SAP -> "com.sap.pct.erp.mss.tra".
Here, search for the code of the task for which everything is working fine; in our case it was TS20000118. Copy this piece of code.
Now download the currently active XML configuration. In the saved XML file, search for the task code which is not working as expected. Replace this piece of code with the code copied in the above step. Save with a different name.
Upload this new configuration with HIgh priority.
Reregister the connector and clear the cache.
These steps solved my problem. Probably it should work for you too.

Remove UWL information areas under preview

Hi UWL Experts
I need to remove some of the information which is shown when a preview of a workflow item is displayed like Attachments and You can also links.
This part is easily fulfilled by use of the ivew parameters; but is this possible to customize on work item level instead? Because I only need to remove these information from some of the items and not all?

Thanks for the input, we have some tasks form the backend which is actually does not contain attachments but are displayed in the portal as attachments.
I have looked into the standard uwl.webflow configuration and found an item called uwl.task.webflow is guess that this is the one which the rest of my tasks receive the standard configuration from; if I want to create a new set of settings for some specific tasks then I need to copy this ad add a new prefix like costumized.webflow and add this prefix to the specific task that I want to change?
From this configuration I can see that it is possible to remove links from the you can also section, but is it also possible to remove informations from the details display of items as well (in the same way as it can be controlled globally from iview parameters)?

How do you change the fields that are displayed on the email preview list after a search?

How do you modify the fields that are displayed in the mail preview list in the center column of Mac mail after you conduct a search of your email? All of a sudden the displayed fields changed on me whenever I do a search in mail. When I have not filtered my email with a search, the default field shown in bold at the top of each message's preview is the "From" field. However, when I do a search this changes to the "To" field. But why would you want this?
iTunes is responsible for the File Management, let it get on with it, you do your organisation in the iTunes window. And everything you need to do, you can do via the iTunes Window. Want to find the file of a track quickly? Right click on it in the iTunes Window and select Show File: A finder window pops open with the file already selected.

Arabic letters are displayed as junk character in PDF preview

When we try to view (HFR Financial reports in PDF preview Arabic letters are displayed as junk character. While the same is shown correctly in HTML view.
Oracle EPMA version we are using 11.1.1.3, please provide some solution on this issue

This could help if you are connecting to essbase or planning:
1.Set the ESSLANG environment variable on the Essbase server to
ESSLANG= Arabic - Saudi Arabia (ISO)@Binary
2. In Financial Reporting, you must use the Essbase APS ADM driver rather then the Essbase Native ADM driver. Set the driver in \Hyperion\products\biplus\lib\fr_global.properties by setting the parameter
UseEssbaseEDS=1
3. In \Hyperion\products\biplus\lib\fr.env, set the ESSLANG environment variable as follows:

4. Re-start the Essbase and Financial Reporting services.

I'd like to get all these '-1 suffix' files together with their associated Develop adjustments into one folder (if they aren't already) so I can see them in Grid view in the Library module, which I use as my basic starting point for everything else at this early stage of my Lightroom 'career'.
To see what folder these are stored in, right-click on a photo and select "Go to Folder in Library".
Advice: if you are going to use Lightroom effectively, you probably want to stop using folders as your method to create a grouping of photos that are already in Lightroom; there are plenty of built-in tools, such as keywords, collections, color labels, etc.
I don't understand why the search on the entire catalog picked up apparently the same two file versions but also got the Develop adjustments when going to the relevant Folder didn't show the adjustment black squares against each image in Grid view nor were they there when the images were opened in the Develop module. Perhaps if I understood this, I'd be a bit more confident of moving forward myself.
These are most likely different versions of the same photo, in different folders. Lightroom stores the edits in its own catalog, and so it knows that one folder's photos have edits, and the other folder's photos do not have edits. Please understand that Lightroom is a database, it knows where the photos are at the time you import them (or add them to the catalog by synchronize), and then if you move things around in your operating system, Lightroom does not know anything about that and problems begin. Thus the advice to organize using Lightroom tools and methods and not operating system tools and methods.

Adobe PDF Portfolio - Preview Mode Displaying Incorrect Pages

I have created a PDF portfolio using the “Grid” template in Adobe Acrobat XI Pro. The Portfolio contains three pdf files. I am getting the following problem when I open the pdf Portfolio in Adobe Reader X and XI and Adobe Acrobat Pro XI.
Open the PDF portfolio
Click on pdf3
Preview mode displays the correct document and pages.
Close the preview of pdf3
Click on pdf2
Preview mode displays pages from pdf3,not pdf2 (see screenshot below).
Some observations:
If pdf1 has two pages, and pdf2 has ten pages, pdf2’s preview contains pdf 1 (pages 1-2) and then pdf2 (pages 3-10).
If I continue to open pdfs the preview contains pages from all the pdfs I have opened in the portfolio (this depends on how many pages the document I am currently previewing has). It is not just caching the last pdf opened.
Preview mode always displays the correct NUMBER of pages (i.e., if there are ten pages in a pdf, there will be ten pages in the preview. They will just be the wrong pages).
Turning off local page cache (preferences > page display) does not fix the problem.
Adobe Reader is up-to-date and Flash is up-to-date. I have replicated the problem on different computers, and in Adobe Reader X and XI, and Pro XI. I have also created muliple pdf portfolios from scratch to confirm the pdf portfolio itself wasn't corrupt.
Does anyone have an idea what is happening? Users are getting very confused when their preview shows them a completely different document.

We have the same problem. Everything's up to date. Adobe needs to address this issue!! The portfolio feature is a great idea, but this glitch basically ruins it. If you come by this page with the same problem, make sure you leave a reply. Maybe Adobe will actually pay attention if there are enough complaints.

My preview site displays correctly but my live site changes when I publish it

My issue is that the preview site displays correctly however when I upload this information to the live site, the format changes and displays incorrectly.

Are you creating the site in Muse and publishing it to BC.
If yes, can you go to File > Export as HTML, export the file to a folder on your computer and check it if you are getting same issue.

Previews not displaying in split view in Aperture

Recently Aperture has stopped displaying previews for a number of photos (but strangely not all) when in split view. If I switch to browser view the previews are all there, and if I then return to split view they are back to being displayed. But if I move to another project and then return to the first they are gone again. I have repaired the Aperture database with no change, but not yet rebuilt it. This change in behaviour was not concurrent with an Aperture update. However there have been lots of updates affecting 10.8.2 since the most recent version of Aperture. Any thoughts?

You are not speaking to Apple here. So none of us can "fix it."
TRy try quitting the Photos app followed by a reset of the ipad. To quit an app double click the Home button to reveal the row of recently used apps. Flick up on the page preview and it will fly away and disappear. That quits the app. Then Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button continuously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the button and let the device restart. You will not lose data doing this. It's like a computer reboot.

Expand UWL preview via variables without editing .XML

I know it's possible to enhance UWLs (preview) via Enterprise Portal configurations. But does somebody know whether it is also possible to define or modify additional variables for the UWL workitems without editing the EP .XML files. For example via SRM customizing?
What i want to do is enhance the preview screen with additional information for approval workitems generated from an EBP workflow. I'm on an SRM 7.0 system.

Tried setting up descriptions, multiple types of descriptions can be maintained from transaction PFTC. The 'Task Description' already contained the underneath description but as you have seen in my previously attached screenshot this description does not show in the Enterprise Portal.
You are responsible for the approval of shopping cart "

You can use decision buttons to approve or reject the shopping cart.
I've also configured the other 'Descriptions' types available with some test data but these don't show up either. I'll keep these up untill tomorrow to see if anything changes.
I'm guessing this would be an SRM_SERVER / EP_Portal issue: EP/UWL is not picking up the maintained description. I'll search for notes..

Customizing of Universal Worklist (UWL) Preview

Hello,
i have to customize the UWL preview, that is shown in the portal for every work item below the list view.
The customization shall be done only for the current project, so there are only a few worksteps involved that should use the customized preview.
I already read the UWV configuration documentation, but i hav absolutely no clue how i can do the customization if it is possible at all.
What i have to achieve:
- remove Buttons from the workitem preview (e.g. forward)
- remove attributes from the workitem preview (e.g. priority)
- the configuration shall only be done for specific work items because other projects want to see the preview.
Can you please help or point me to some documentation/ guide?

Previews are splotchy

Hello, I've been having trouble with Lightroom for awhile. I have a Sony Vaio laptop which is fairly new, my old one died, but I used Lightroom 2 on it with no problems for a long time. I'm not sure if the trouble started with this new laptop or not, I can't remember but I just upgraded to Lightroom 4 and I'm still having this problem. My problem is that the dark areas of my photos in the previews are splotchy, for a lack of a better word word. I can view the image in Picasa and it looks fine, if I export it as a jpg from Lightroom it's also fine. I've tried deleting previews, optimizing the catalog, changing various settings, but nothing seems to work. I've also tried changing various display settings on my laptop but I have yet to find an answer. Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about. Instead of a nice green gradient behind the flower, it's very pixelated and splotchy. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

I always suspect a broken monitor profile when I see something like that. AFAIK Picasa isn't color managed and just ignores the monitor profile, so it wouldn't be affected.
Is it calibrated in any way? If so, recalibrate. I've no idea what sort of monitor profile a Sony Vaio would set up as default, but you can try to replace it with sRGB (if it isn't already) and see if that clears it up. Go to Control Panel > Color Management > Devices. It should look like this:
But to be clear, the proper way to do this is to use a calibrator to make a new custom profile. Even though a laptop screen is never ideal for image editing, calibration should improve things.
EDIT: I see you have PS CS4 there too. Does it behave the same way?

I am not being critical, but you seem to want Safari to behave exactly like Chrome. Every software developer has a plan. Sometimes features in one product parallel other products - sometime not. There might be some things available that would help you. Do not hold your breath, however, for suggestions from people who use these forums. Most of us use (and like) Apple products. If you wish to make suggestions for future improvements, there is a feedback area on this web site that Apple employees read/review.
Candidly, your approach would be akin to suggesting that Apple emulate the "features" in Windows (heaven forbid).
I use Safari (and have for years). I use Firefox (not a bad product) as my alternate browser.
Sorry for what appears to be a pedantic lecture. However, I think most of us adapt to different products if we really want to use them.

Preview not displaying List View Data past first row

I guess this is a simple question. I have my Excel model working the way I wish it to. The components before preview are functioning accordingly. When Preview is run, the data in the two spreadheet tables is not displayed past the first row.
Basically, is there some gremlin within Flash that is ignoring or deleting the functions (VLOOKUP) in the targeted display area? By all rights, this should be working, and I am kind of surprised that it isn't

If the data is static, it will display. My research turned up that VLOOKUP and HLOOKUP functions will not display after the first row of data.

My problem is that in making the data dynamically selectable, and using multiple functions to bring results to the top of the spreadsheet instead of their respective locations; it has created a situation where I have an Excel model that works, but an Xcelsius model that does not.
Doesn't look like there really is a solution to what I am trying to do, short of completely rebuilding the model, which I do not have the ability to replicate.
