UWL Task: Approve/Reject

Hi, take a look at following XML code. This task can either be approved or rejected by the user:
<ItemType name="uwl.task.webflow.decision.TS90100029.HR_System"
          connector="WebFlowConnector"
          defaultView="DefaultView"
          defaultAction="viewDetail"
          executionMode="default">
  <ItemTypeCriteria systemId="HR_System"
                    externalType="TS90100029"
                    connector="WebFlowConnector"/>
</ItemType>
Following is the code for defaultView. I don't understand how the Approve and Reject buttons show up in this view? And where are the actions that are linked to these buttons defined?
<View name="DefaultView"
      selectionMode="SINGLESELECT"
      width="98%"
      supportedItemTypes="uwl.task"
      columnOrder="statusIcon, subject, creatorId, createdDate, detailIcon"
      sortby="priority:descend, dueDate:ascend, createdDate:descend"
      tableDesign="STANDARD"
      visibleRowCount="10"
      headerVisible="yes"
      queryRange="undefined"
      tableNavigationFooterVisible="yes"
      tableNavigationType="CUSTOMNAV"
      actionRef=""
      refresh="300"
      dueDateSevere="86400000"
      dueDateWarning="259200000"
      emphasizedItems="new"
      displayOnlyDefinedAttributes="yes"
      dynamicCreationAllowed="yes"
      actionPosition="top"
      referenceBundle="tasks">
  <DisplayAttributes>
    <DisplayAttribute name="priority"
                      type="user"
                      width="10"
                      sortable="yes"
                      format="default"
                      referenceBundle="priority"
                      hAlign="LEFT"
                      vAlign="BASELINE"
                      maxTextWidth="0"
                      headerVisible="yes">
      <Menu>
        <MenuItem name="Low" actionRef="priorityLow" referenceBundle="menu_priority_low"/>
        <MenuItem name="Normal" actionRef="priorityNormal" referenceBundle="menu_priority_normal"/>
        <MenuItem name="High" actionRef="priorityHigh" referenceBundle="menu_priority_high"/>
        <MenuItem name="VeryHigh" actionRef="priorityVeryHigh" referenceBundle="menu_priority_v_high"/>
      </Menu>
    </DisplayAttribute>
  </DisplayAttributes>
  <Actions>
    <Action reference="refresh"/>
    <Action reference="defaultGlobalWizard"/>
    <Action reference="addToNavigation"/>
    <Action reference="removeFromNavigation"/>
    <Action reference="personalize"/>
    <Action reference="launchSubstitutionManager"/>
  </Actions>
</View>

Ok, but I don't see where I have to specify this. If I take a look at the XLM for this task, all it says is: view="defaultView", action="viewDetail", where the viewDetail action is defined as follows:
<Action name="viewDetail"
        groupAction="no"
        handler="UIActionHandler"
        referenceBundle="view_detail"
        returnToDetailViewAllowed="yes"
        launchInNewWindow="no">
  <Properties>
    <Property name="image" value="icon_detail.gif"/>
    <Property name="display_order_priority" value="-2"/>
  </Properties>
</Action>
so there isn't even a UserDecisionHandler to begin with?

  • Calling ADF page Custom Listener (Ex: ActionListener) from BPM Process Task (APPROVE/REJECT)

    Hi All,
    Jdeveloper version - 11.1.1.7
    I am very new to BPM / SOA development, but I have very good development skills on ADF.
    I am not using ADF BC, using EJB for business services and also using custom ADF pages for HumanTasks.
    Usecase:
    From the BPM Process task, when process submission (APPROVE / REJECT) , I need to invoke a Custom listener (Ex.Action Listener - a EJB call) in the ADF page.
    I am trying to use BPM APIs.
    Please clarify me how this will achieve using BPM APIs. I need detail guidelines to do it. Please make to understand this process.
    Provide some useful documentation or links to understand the following:
    1. Custom Human task pages
    2. BPM APIs - 11.1.1.7
    3. Call a BPM process task from ADF Listener and Call a ADF Listener from BPM Process task - Using BPM APIs.
    Please revert more clarifications needed.

    Hi Joonas.
    Plese let me explain me better for your understanding
    A big summary for what I meant it's the following:
    1- In the procces you made, when you add the HT activity, you have to implement it, this means declare the input(s) parameters you want. This implementation create the .task file.
    2- Create an application, and projects as HT you have. Each poject are based on the .task file, and automatically create a Data Control (for each project based on a .task) with all you need.
    This w'll be an empty application, so you can customize it all you want. The task selected should have all the parameters previously defined. Those parameters can change if you want.
    2- Create a page(s) in the task flow for the task implementation. You can even split the the payload of the task in differents pages, create your custom pages and any logic you need.
    3- An important aspect is how to match these application with the HT implemented in the process. It's possible, it's a configuration en the Enterprise Manager.
    4- Deploy your application
    All these are explain in the book I mentioned
    Th book you can find it here:

  • UWL Mass Approval XML changes or Custom App

    Dear Gurus,
    Please help us in understanding the solution to mass approval issue. Shall we go for XML changes or go for a new custom development in wda/wdj
    I have tried modifying XML method for leave approval but the issue is :
    1. Tasks drop off from manager UWL with success message but the workflow goes to cancelled step and does not update the status of the employee request from sent to approved. can this be handled by workflow guys.
    2. On doing XML changes in both views(normal and subview for mass approval), I lost hyperlinks on my workitems , so I could not launch any application even in the main view where approver shall approve items one by one.
    I need help to understand if the above 2 issues can be addressed.
    Further we have more than 10-12 types of approvals in our UWL down the line. So is it a good idea to configure XMl or just go and create 1 Master custom applicaiton to address all approvals and give mass approval facility in that alone.
    Kindly help

  • How to redirect after task approved?

    Hi All,
    I tried to redirect after task approved/reject like:
    %Current Task:Form_URN%]&Source=http://sharepoint/sitename
    This technique is working in dev site but not in production. Its redirects to task list only. Is there any other work around for this issue?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to redirect after task approved.
    In order to solve the problem more efficiently, can you descript more detail that how you create the workflow and where you add the action you mentioned?
    In addition, please refer to the official article related, hope you could find something useful from it:

  • UWL Approve Reject button not visible

    Hello Experts,
    We have implemented Portal 7.0 SP 18 and configured UWL. All task items are appearing correctly.
    But approve and reject button is not visible in UWL. The same is visible in ITS screen when we click on the task.
    Kindly help.
    Regards,
    Nirmal Sivakumar G

    Hi Soral,
    All workflows from ECC is causing this problem. To be precise I have configured a webflow connector to pull the tasks from SAP Inbox. The approve/Reject button should appear in UWL ivew when we select the task item. But only forward and resubmit options are visible.
    I guess the problem is with SP 18 itself. Coz there are similar threads with the same scenario in SP 18.

  • UWL Approval/Reject buttons above the List

    Hi all,
    How can i place all the action buttons in UWL which appears for a particular work item above the UWL table . Presently they are present below the Description of the work item.is this can be done in XML configuration ?
    Thanks
    Prasad

    Hi Prasad
    I hope you are well and many thanks for using the SAP Discussion Forums. In relation to your query you mentioned the following:
    How can i place all the action buttons in UWL which appears for a particular work item above the UWL table . Presently they are present below the Description of the work item.is this can be done in XML configuration ?
    You are correct in your observation as this resolution comes down to XML configuation. I have outlined a sample below for your cross reference and convenience. The property you should be highlighting and reviewing here is "ActionPosition".
    Firstly - Do you have the action defined in the view?
    SAMPLE:
    <Views>
    <View name="com.sap.pct.erp.mss.tra.view.TripCheckView" selectionMode="SINGLESELECT" width="98%" supportedItemTypes="uwl.task.webflow.decision.TS00008267"
    columnOrder="statusIcon, subject, priority, creatorId, createdDate, dueDate, processor, forwardedDate, attachmentCount, detailIcon, APPROVE,REJECT" sortby="priority:descend, dueDate:ascend, createdDate:descend"tableDesign="STANDARD" visibleRowCount="10" headerVisible="yes"queryRange="undefined" tableNavigationFooterVisible="yes"
    tableNavigationType="CUSTOMNAV" refresh="300" dueDateSevere="0"dueDateWarning="0" emphasizedItems="none"displayOnlyDefinedAttributes="yes" dynamicCreationAllowed="yes"
    actionPosition="bottom"referenceBundle="com.sap.pct.erp.mss.tra.TripCheck">
    <Actions>
    <Action reference= "<ACTION BUTTON NAME
    REQUIRED>"/> </Actions>
    </View></Views>
    Where I have <ACTION BUTTON NAME REQUIRED> you should have something
    like forward, etc.
    Now a point to highlight there are two principals to remember when you are working with XML files.
    Before making changes the XML files should be copied so changes can be reverted easily if required.
    XML files follow the concept of precedence. So to realize changes in terms of visual display the newly edited XML file needs to be re-uploaded with a new priority of "High". After doing so clear the UWL Cache.
    Kindly update me as per your findings.
    Kind Regards

  • Can not see the details of the task approved in UWL of ESS

    Leave approver can not see the detail of the task approved such as the start and end date of the leave, number of days used, leave quota details of the applicant when he approved it.
    Please give your advises!
    Regards,

    Hi!
    Maybe these attributes are not being shown due to the fact that they might have been specified in the "List of Display Attribute to exclude from Preview/Detail area" attribute of the UWL iview currently being used.
    As you can see in the Help page:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/de/0a/ad68c125ae496f8c04a25090bd2e3c/content.htm
    It states the following about this attribute:
    "Enter the names of the attributes which you want to hide from the display in the preview area. These names should be comma separated."
    Maybe for the UWL iview currently being used it has been specified some values for this attribute, and so some information for the items such as the start and end date of the leave (along with the others you have mentioned) are not getting displayed in the preview area.
    Hope this helps!
    Best regards,

    Second
    Manager will click on the task(these task ids i have configured in SWFVISU) .And next one more form will be opened with the updated data and manager will approve it and he will click on the approve button then that form should not be in the UWL

  • Approve/Reject buttons in UWL workitems

    Hello,
    We are on EP7.01 SP 7 implementing ESS/MSS. We configured UWL Connector under System Admin.-> UWL Config. to pull workitems from R/3 Inbox.
    The workitems are coming fine for 'Travel and Expense' , but there are no Approve/Reject buttons there for the Manager to Approve or Reject the Travel Request.
    Please help as to why this is happening.
    Any help would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Did you apply 1133821?  95% of the time this will resolve the issue with the buttons.  If you are still experiencing the issue after applying this note, please also check the following:
    - Check that after applying Note 1133821 the destination names and the
    UWL connector names exactly match, even considering case-sensitiveness.
    If your portal system alias (=UWL connector name) is for example
    XYZCLNT100, then the rfc destination name should be exactly
    XYZCLNT100$WebFlowConnector. Please correct the rfc destination
    accordingly.
    - After you have checked/prepared the RFC destination for the future use
    please delete that connector in the UWL config UI (Portal->System
    Administration->System Configuration->Universal Worklist) with which you
    would like to use this RFC destination.
    After that
    - restart the portal cluster
    - recreate and reregister connector
    Now retest.  Are you still seeing the issue?

  • UWL Approve/Reject - Workflow Container Element

    Hello,
    I have a custom WF which uses a task copied from a standard. It is a User Decision task based on TS20000135 (Check Trip Facts).
    If the user rejects the trip he will need to Add a Memo which will be bound to container element AttachObjects.
    To test the existence of an attachment, I have a completion based on this field but I also need to check if the user pressed the "Send trip back for correction" or "Reject" button, otherwise he will also have to enter a memo in case he approves the trip.
    Anyone knows what is the WF Container Element that will contain the action value?
    Moreover, does anyone know what are the values for each action? (i.e. Approve, Reject, Send Back).
    Thanks in advance
    Antonio

    This value will appear in the task container of a decision task. I think it is of type SWD_LINES-RETURNCODE. I feel the container element is RESULT. This element gets created default in a decision task. Check the standard Decsion task 8267. Generally it returns a 4 digit number. Suppose you have 3 decision it will return 0001,0002 and 0003. Just analyze that Container Element in the task and you will resolve Ur issue. Test and find out which number returned is corresponding to your decision.
    Thanks

  • Approve/Reject/Suspend task in Humanworkflow without BPMWorklistApp

    Hi,
    A SOA process creates a work item , and I need to perform the UserAction without logging into BPMWorklistApp to my Human WorkFlow. Infact I should not create a new UI for my task. I need to use my own Approve/Reject buttons in my application. Now the challenge is, that work item needs to be Approved/Rejected/Suspended through the buttons in my own application.
    Should I update the Cube_instance table with the relavant status code?
    Should I access the workflow API by creating a new Java project?
    By any chance can I close the running instance using correlation sets?
    Can some one please provide me with the efficient and easy way to implement this. If possible with the reference URLs.
    Thanks in Adv.

    Got it done with the worklist API.

  • Outcome Sequence of Human Tasks changed REJECT,APPROVE once deployed

    Dear All,
    We have setup the human workflow, and the outcome list we choose as APPROVE,REJECT and in our Jdeveloper it is in the same order. But once deployed, the order gets changed to REJECT,APPROVE in the tmp folder of the server, and accordingly the approver gets REJECT as the first item in the select list.
    Kindly show us the light to disable this conversion.

    Hi,
    hope you are using 11g Jdev..
    What is the mode of deployment you are using?
    you said some temp folder, will that present in Project file? or you are refering to server folder??
    If you are using Scripts to deploy then try to deploy the service usig tool itself or import it as jar. and check this.
    then if u r not facing any issue, check your deployment script properly.
    Thanks,
    Santosh M E

  • UWL: Mass Approval functionality is not shown

    Hi Gurus,
    I have done the required config to call my ABAP webdynpro leave approval screen when a workitem is clicked in UWL and its working fine.
    Now I want to have a mass approval functionality for the leave approval screen. I have added the below Item types and Views in UWL.STANDARD.XML file and uploaded it to the system with high priority and then refreshed cache. When I login to the system and access the UWL, the MASS Approval functionality is not show. Do I have to do any other steps apart from this. Please let me know how to resolve the issue.
