Validating only digits

Hi All
I want to validate a field with digits only ( 0 to 9) . If it contains other than 0 to 9 digits like special characters then it should fail.
  for e.g. : 384746 should be true
             384-746  should be false.
  If I use CA operand then it throws true even for 384-746  value
Can anybody let us know how to achieve it ? is there any FM available .
I got it with some extra logic to find it out whether it is a numeric    or   not   BUT  I need a direct method , one step validation
Responses are highly appreciated .
Satya

Try like this:
[code]REPORT  ZTEST_NP.
parameters: l_text(10) type c.
data: l_num(12) type c value '-+=@#$%^&*()'.
if l_text ca l_num.
  write: 'false'.
else.
  write: 'true'.
endif.[/code]

  • Validating a digital signature in an xml

    Hi,
    Im working on validating a digital signature from an xml file . Im using the below code to get the value of signature node from the xml file.
    NodeList nl = doc.getElementsByTagNameNS(XMLSignature.XMLNS, "Signature");
    I'm getting it as nodelist object . When i try to get the length of the signature element it says 0 and hence it throws me an exception .
    I have to pass this nodeliest object to validate the xml file. Im attaching the xml file as well as the progarm to validate the xml file . Can somebody help me on this.

    // Instantiate the document to be validated
    DocumentBuilderFactory dbf = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    DocumentBuilder db = dbf.newDocumentBuilder();
    dbf.setNamespaceAware(true);
    Document doc = db.parse(file);Your problem is that you've instantiated the DocumentBuilder before you've made the factory namespace aware. As a result, does not know against which namespace it is parsing the XML file.
    Change the lines of code to have the factory be namespace-aware before you instantiate the DocumentBuilder and then parse the class. You'll get past your "node not found" error to receive a number of other errors which you need to correct.
    DocumentBuilderFactory dbf = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    dbf.setNamespaceAware(true);
    Document doc = dbf.newDocumentBuilder().parse(file);As a practice when generating an XML document, you should try to validate it inside an IDE like Netbeans/Eclipse before trying to do anything with the document to ensure you've not only got a well-formed XML document, but also one that is "schema-conformant. Your XML signature is not (the Object element cannot come before the KeyInfo element, and the SignatureProperty element is missing the required Target attribute); as a result your Signature element will fail to pass validation even if your code is correct. A cursory review of the XML Signature specs and its XSD is always helpful: [http://www.w3.org/TR/xmldsig-core/].
    Finally, please use the {code} tag for source-code to make it readable. Thanks.

  • I livecycle process verifies the validity of digital signatures

    Hello, I have to create a process that I livecycle verify the validity of digital signatures in PDF format. can you help me?

    hello thanks for the reply, I tried the process and works in part, the only problem in the variable verificationResult
    process output tells me <identityStatus> UNKNOWN </ identityStatus> though I imported the certificate in to livecycle
    how can I fix this?

  • Sound - My built speakers do not show in the output section in sound system preferences area only digital out hence unless I connect external speakers I have no sound - can anyone assist?

    on my IMac the internal speakers have ceased working - in the sound preferences area only digital out sound is there no internal speakers to choose so unless I connect external speakers I have no sound

    Hey Jack (woofman jack)
    Sounds like the micro switch inside the output jack that switches the audio from internal to external is stuck on external. Try plugging a set of buds, headphones or digital Toslink adapter in and out a few times to see if it will unstick the micro switch. You also might try jiggling a tooth pick around inside the audio output jack to see if that unsticks it? If not then you'll need to make an appointment at your Local Apple Store or Apple Service Provider and have the jack serviced.

  • Force only digital or only analogue video output?

    is there any script or terminal command to force the mac mini to only output analogue video signal or only digital video signal? I have a dvi Y splitter that splits the DVI out to VGA and DVI. When using windows XP under bootcamp I can choose which signal to output (digital or analogue) under the graphics control panel. If i choose digital the video signal only gets sent to my DVI monitor, leaving m LCD with no signal. If i choose analogue the video signal only gets sent through VGA to my LCD TV. Is there a way to do the same thing under Mac OSX Leopard? This way I do not have to constantly unplug cables when switching between doing work on my monitor and watching movies on my LCD tv.
    Also, if this is not possible does anyone know where i can buy a DVI A/B switch box. Something that allows me switch between two displays when outputting video from the mac mini. I have looked around the net and all I find are things that split the signal between two displays or KVM switches that allow one monitor to use computer sources. These are things im NOT looking for. All im looking for is a simple DVI A/B switch so that i can switch viewing between two monitors when using my mac mini.

    Details about the sound system can be found in the relevant document here.

  • How to make permission to enter Only Digits in String Context Attribute?

    1. It is necessary to allow entry into InputField only digits.
    2. The number of digits is limited to 5.
    There is a context attribute "Code" of type string.
    I have a code:
    ISimpleTypeModifiable attributeType = wdContext.nodeCreateParams (). GetNodeInfo (). GetAttribute ( "Code"). GetModifiableSimpleType ();
    attributeType.setMaxLength (5);
    But I do not know how to allow entry only digits.
    I would be grateful for your help!

    Hi Vitaly
    The problem is you cannot apply a format pattern to String based simple type.
    The restriction can be overcame if you make the attribute Calculated. Then in setter-method you can perform the string parsing according to your 5-digits rule. For the purpose you can use Java class MessageFormat.
    If the input string coming to the setter does not follow to the 5-digits rule, report the corresponding error message using method:
    wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager().raiseInvalidContextAttributeMessage(...);
    Hope this will help you.

  • Analog audio unavailable - only digital out

    Hello, I'm having a problem where my audio isn't functioning. Only digital out. I didn't even know my macbook had digital out. When I look in the headphone jack there is a red lazer beam shooting out. I don't want lazers. I want an analogue signal. Thanks.

    Hopefully one of these steps should solve the problem.

    Hi,
    As a further test to identify whether this is a hardware or software issue, try the following.
    1.  Create a bootable Ubuntu CD - a guide on creating an Ubuntu CD and the download can be found Here.
    2.  When created, follow the guide on the link below to Try Ubuntu.
    http://www.ubuntu.com/download/help/try-ubuntu-before-you-install
    The 'Try Ubuntu' option runs the OS from the CD without the need to install on your HDD.  It will be slow running from a CD but let me know if you get audio.

  • Acro 9 Pro/CS3 new install - "action valid only for product that is currently installed"

    Hi,
    I successfully installed CS3 on XP/SP3 followed by the Acrobat 9 Pro upgrade to 8 that was included. The install seemed fine, and I activated Acrobat 9. However, when I click the start menu icon created by the installation, the got the message "action valid only for product that is currently installed". In addition, the standard IE integration is not present. Starting a repair from the Acro Help menu doesn't seem to do anything, and the product does not appear in Control Panel Add & Remove programs.
    I can start Acr 9 by navigating to the .exe in Program Files, but really need to fix the install.
    Has anyone seen this and fixed it?
    Also, if I (hopefully not) have to manually uninstall and reinstall, does anyone know
    - how to manually uninstall Acro 9
    - if uninstall destroys the activation I've already completed?
    Thanks much,
    Gordon

    CS3 comes with AA8, not AA9. I don't know where you got AA9, unless it was a trial. As far as I know, there was no packaged upgrade to AA9 with CS3. Others can confirm that I guess. You probably need to uninstall AA9 and reinstall AA8. Then update AA8 to the current version, AA8.1.4. Bill

  • Email cannot be read when it is only digitally signed

    I, and my boss (using a Curve) have been having continuous trouble with reading emails that have been digitally signed.  Now, before people start running down the basics, here's what I have done so far:
    1.  Installed latest ROM for both devices, still waiting on 4.5 for my 8830...
    2.  Installed S/MIME application on both devices
    3.  Installed latest Desktop OS on both machines and synchronized certificates from desktop to device and back
    Here is the systems we are using:
    1.  Exchange 2003
    2.  BlackBerry Enterprise Server (version unknown, not my department)
    3.  Verisign certificates, managed on-site
    Here are some of the caveats we are experiencing.
    1.  We can read signed and/or encrypted messages from Outlook (03/07), Entourage (04/08), and Thunderbird problem-free
    2.  We can read signed AND encrypted, or encrypted ONLY, messages from Mulberry, but we cannot read signed ONLY messages from Mulberry
    There is no error message, in fact everything "looks" normal, we are just unable to view the body of the emails.  What we do see is similar to this:
    Received Using: <mailbox> (S/MIME)
    Message Status: Opened
    To: <me>
    Sent: <date>
    From: <Mulberry User>
    Subject: <subject>
    <img><img> Trusted
    [1 Attachment]
    application: Unknown (2K)
    The <Mulberry User> did some research and sent me the following information:
    This is a signed message sent from Outlook:
    MIME-Version: 1.0
    Content-Type: multipart/signed;
            boundary="----=_NextPart_000_00CE_01C99022.D841F9A0";
            protocol="application/x-pkcs7-signature";
            micalg=SHA1
    This is a signed message sent from Mulberry:
    MIME-Version: 1.0
    Content-Type: multipart/signed; micalg=sha1;
     protocol="application/pkcs7-signature";
     boundary="==========45CF5864B8BBBF80D9D4=========="
    See any difference between those two?
    According to the RFC, the "application/x-pkcs7-signature" MIME type is supposed to be handled, by clients, the same as the "application/pkcs7-signature" MIME type, which is the "correct" MIME type.  So Mulberry handles it correctly.  Outlook does not.  And neither does the Blackberry.  Because *all* clients *should* honor both types.
    http://www.ietf.org/proceedings/05nov/RFCs/rfc2311.txt
    "C.1 Early MIME Types
    Some early implementations of S/MIME agents used the following MIME types:
       application/x-pkcs7-mime
       application/x-pkcs7-signature
       application/x-pkcs10
    In each case, the "x-" subtypes correspond to the subtypes described in this document without the "x-"."
    "This memo also discusses how to use the multipart/signed MIME type defined in [MIME-SECURE] to transport S/MIME signed messages. This memo also defines the application/pkcs7-signature MIME type, which is also used to transport S/MIME signed messages. This specification is compatible with PKCS #7 in that it uses the data types defined by PKCS #7."
    3.4.1 Choosing a Format for Signed-only Messages
    There are no hard-and-fast rules when a particular signed-only format should be chosen because it depends on the capabilities of all the receivers and the relative importance of receivers with S/MIME facilities being able to verify the signature versus the importance of receivers without S/MIME software being able to view the message.
    Messages signed using the multipart/signed format can always be viewed by the receiver whether they have S/MIME software or not. They can also be viewed whether they are using a MIME-native user agent or they have messages translated by a gateway. In this context, "be viewed" means the ability to process the message essentially as if it were not a signed message, including any other MIME structure the message might have."
    This means that the Blackberry is required, by RFC, to be able to read a signed message even without the aid of S/MIME capable software.  The fact that it does not is a failure of the Blackberry.
    The above email was in reference to the fact that all of these emails that cannot be read on the devices, can be read in Outlook, and when a signed message is sent from Outlook, it can be read on the devices.  Furthermore, this is not to say that the information above is 100% valid and correct, but I am hoping that it sparks some discussion and hopefully a resolution can be found.
    Thanks for your time in reading this.
    Andrew
    BB8830

    Well not 100% sure but in my experience the following setting is the problem "Enable S/MIME Encryption on Signed or Weakly encrypted messages". This setting is a per server setting and is found in the general options of the server.
    When this is set to true the BES encryptes the message again over the signed message...but then for some reason unknown it doesn't decrypt it back when the client reads it.
    Maybe you could ask your admins and try it out and see if it works...
