Validation expression for Comparitive check

Hi,
My scenario is to fire a validation error when,
Field A is filled and Field B is not filled.
If Field A and Field B is filled there should not be any validation error.
Can any body send the validation expression to achieve this?
Best regards,
Arun prabhu S

Hi Arun,
According to your requirements and if I am getting it right the the validation should fire in the following cases.
(1) Field A is filled and field B is not filled.
(2)If both the fields are blank.
Correct me if I am  wrong the validation should not fire if field A is blank and field B is filled.
IF(IF(IS_NOT_NULL(Field A) OR IS_NULL(Field A),TRUE,FALSE) AND IF(IS_NOT_NULL(Field B),TRUE,FALSE),TRUE,FALSE).
Reward if Helpful,

  • Regular expression for domain check

    Hi! Im trying to check whether a String actually contains a domain using the following regular expression:
    ([0-9a-zA-Z-]{1,10}[.]){1,6}[0-9a-zA-Z]{1,5}$
    Im testing two String[] with domains. One of them is filled with domains that should be ok, the other is filled with illegal domain names.
    String[] shouldbetrue = {"yahoo.co.uk", "bcker.brsen.se", "begagnadebcker.se", "subdomain.subdomain.subdomain.domain.com"};
    String[] shouldbefalse = {"yahoo.co_uk", "mjlk.brsense", "begagnadebcker@se", "subdomain.subdomain\\subdomain.domain.com"};
    Performing the test with JUnit I get the following output:
    junit.framework.AssertionFailedError: return value for subdomain.subdomain\subdomain.domain.com expected:<false> but was:<true>, but I cant understand why backslash is accepted. Im rather new to regular expressions so I might miss something obvious, thats why Im asking :).
    Thanks in advance,
    Alex

    Sorry, steve, but in a character class, the dot just
    matches a dot. It won't hurt to add the backslash,
    but it isn't necessary.So it won't Learn something about regexes everytime I look at them.
    >
    Alex, are you using matches() or find() in this test?
    If you're using find(), that would explain it, since
    e the part that follows the backslash does
    match your regex. If you use matches() or add a '^'
    to the beginning of the regex (or both), it should
    work right.

  • Regular Expressions for textfield syntax checking while typing?

    Hi all,
    my application has a textfield for entering customer numbers. The customer numbers have a certain syntax which I want to have checked while the user types.
    According to our company's style guide, the textfield's background color has to be
    - RED in case of an error,
    - WHITE in case of correct input,
    - YELLOW when the input is incomplete but the beginning is correct.
    To check the syntax with Regular Expressions is easy for the WHITE and RED cases. But I'm struggling with the YELLOW case.
    public static boolean checkTest(String s) {
         String regExp = "(\\d{6,8},\\d{1,3},\\d{1,3},\\d{1,2})";
         return Pattern.matches(regExp, s);
    }The above method returns true for the following examples:
    "12345678,1,2,3"
    "123456,11,22,33"
    "1234567,123,123,12"
    I now need another method which returns true if the user entered a valid beginning, for example:
    "123"
    "1234567,"
    "123456,123,1"
    Any ideas? I would be glad to get this done...

    @notivago
    In the meantime I also came up with a pattern to
    check the YELLOW case:
    String partly =
    "\\d{0,8},?|\\d{6,8},\\d{0,3},?|\\d{6,8},\\d{1,3},\\d{
    0,3},?|\\d{6,8},\\d{1,3},\\d{1,3},\\d{0,2}";Sounds good to me.
    It seems to work. But my actual goal is to do such
    color-coded syntax checking for other number types
    (other patterns) as well. And it should be easy to
    add or change number types.I cant figure how to do that for now.
    So it would be nice to have a generic way to generate
    the YELLOW-pattern from the other one. Is it
    possible? Probably, but I cannot come up with any idea now.
    Is there a better solution than my one
    ("String partly" above)? Something I can just append
    to the original pattern for example?There are others, but it is hard to say what would be better or worse.

    Hi All,
    I have created payment docuemnt t-code F-48.
    Then for creating check in T-code FCH5, system allows me to assign different House Bank and Account ID.
    How can this be controlled through validation, kindly guide on creating validation for the same.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    In FS00 for bank gl accounts give house bank and account id. By giving this the problem will be solved.
    and also check

  • Using regular expressions for validation in i18n

    Can we use regular expressions for validation of inputs in a java application taking care of i18N aspects too. Zip code for different locales are different. Can we use regular expressions to validate zipcode inputs from different locales

    hi,
    For that shall i have to create individual patterns for matching the inputs from different locales or a single pattern will do in the case of validating phone nos. around the world, zip codes etc. In case different patterns are required, programmer should have a konwledge of difference in patters for different locales.

    Hi Veena,
    To find a BADI for a given tcode follow the below steps.
    1. Go to the TCode.
    2. Menu Item System -> Status.
    3. Double click on the transaction Name (For ME21N double click on ME21N).
    4. Check the Package (e.g. ME)
    5. Go to TCode SE80
    6. In the drop down choose Package and type the Package Name (e.g. ME). Dont forget to Hit Enter or display.
    7. Object Name Enhancements -> Business Add-ins (Def.) (You will see all the BADI's available here ).
    In your case, you need BADI : ME_BAPI_PO_CUST.
    Go to SE19 to implement the BADI.
    If you put your conditions in Create Purchase Order(ME21N), you will not need to add them in Release PO(ME28N) since the conditions will be checked when PO is created.
    Regards,
    Jovito.

    I can't help wondering if a simpler solution would involve creating a java.net.URL object, passing it the string to be checked, and let URL do the parsing and an initial pass at checking the syntax. Then you could query URL for individual components for further checking (e.g., getting the transfer type to make sure it's one of the kinds you want). This approach would probably be more self-documenting, if nothing else.Nice idea, but java.net.URL doesn't actually do much work at all. It basically takes the protocol part, looks up a handler for it, and delegates everything else to that. The handlers themselves are down in the sun packages (or whatever your Java impl is) and since there isn't one for the OPs protocol, he'd have to write and register his own anyway, which kind-of negates the entire purpose of leveraging it.
    @OP: Paul's suggestion can still be of use. Apache, Codehaus and the like will have written their own protocol handlers, it's worth grabbing the source code for, say, Apache HttpClient, and seeing if they've got anything useful in there. Then again, who's to say that what's a valid URL for this 'norm' protocol, other than whoever designed the protocol?

    I am in need of the Regular Expression for
    IPAddress...
    "[0-9]{1,3}\\.[0-9]{1,3}\\.[0-9]{1,3}\\.[0-9]{1,3}"
    ....is the expression i wrote..But it is taking
    0.0.0.0 as a valid IPAddress. (0.0.0.0 is not a valid
    IPAddress)Your regex matches "999.999.999.999", which (of course) isn't a vaild IP address as well.
    This one is closer, but still allows 0.0.0.0:
    \\b(25[0-5]|2[0-4][0-9]|[01]?[0-9][0-9]?)\\.(25[0-5]|2[0-4][0-9]|[01]?[0-9][0-9]?)\\.(25[0-5]|2[0-4][0-9]|[01]?[0-9][0-9]?)\\.(25[0-5]|2[0-4][0-9]|[01]?[0-9][0-9]?)\\bBut why not roll your own method which checks an IP address?

  • Validation option for Vendor payments

    Hi Everybody,
    We have about 150 vendors for whom we make cheque payments (manual payment processing). Now, we started implementing online payments and currently we are making online payments for about 30 vendors.  We want to create validation process for these 30 vendors in payment transaction code F-58 not to allow for cheque payment processing.  If these vendors are selected in t code F-58, an error should be thrown saying these vendors are not for cheque payments. Please advice on this option in SAP in detail.

  • Process_order api - Validation Failed for Field Bill To

    I am relatively new to the EBS world and I'm having some issues with calling the OE_Order_Pub.Process_order API. When I call this API I am getting a return error of "Validation failed for field - Bill To".
    For a background...I have an APEX application where users can choose parts from a small part master list to add to an existing order. The existing order will not have a status of Closed or Cancelled and there will be atleast 1 line in the order before the new parts are added. The parts will be added as new lines to the order with some of the new line data defaulting to the same information as the first line. I am using EBS version 12.1.3 with a multi-org setup. It seems that the orders under one org (id=3) are working fine, but another org(id=569) they never work and keep getting the error. I am setting the context to the org of the order and initializing the apps user information with the responsibility "Order Management Super User".
    Do you have any idea what could be wrong or how I can debug the error to get a little more detail?

    Try the following
    1) Check if any processing constraints are applied to customer/location
    2) Try to create a new customer and associate internal location.
    Create a new order to reproduce the issue

  • SCCM 2012 R2 reporting error: "The DefaultValue expression for the report parameter 'UserTokenSIDs' contains an error: A specified logon session does not exist. It may already have been terminated. (rsRuntimeErrorInExpression)"

    Hi,
    I have two SCCM environments under same active directory domain and one service account have been used for SCCM configurations on both the environments (QA and PRODUCTION). I am facing similar error as mentioned above while trying to fetch reports on
    PRODUCTION site, but the QA site is working fine, though same service account have been used for configuring both. While looking at the reportserverservice_<date> log on my Production DB server i see the following error
    "processing!ReportServer_0-3!2124!01/02/2015-09:09:30:: e ERROR: Throwing Microsoft.ReportingServices.ReportProcessing.ProcessingAbortedException: , Microsoft.ReportingServices.ReportProcessing.ProcessingAbortedException: An error has occurred during
    report processing. ---> Microsoft.ReportingServices.ReportProcessing.ReportProcessingException: Cannot read the next data row for the dataset DataSet1. ---> System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Conversion failed when converting the nvarchar value 'Override
    Default' to data type int."
    My DB and SCCM primary site are different and the reorting services point is installed on remote DB server. Please help me resolving the issue.
    Troubleshooting performed:
    1.Disabled the registry key 'EnableRbacReporting' from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS\SRSRP to 0 and then restarted SSRS service and the reporting worked for some minutes after that the registry key reverted back to 1 automatically and
    reporting started throwing errors again.
    2. Checked with the permissions on DB whether or not 'sysadmin' role is assigned to the SCCM service account.
    3. re-registered the SQL management Provider WMI class.
    mofcomp.exe “C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\110\Shared\sqlmgmproviderxpsp2up.mof”

    Hi All,
    Finally found exact solution to the reporting error.
    Error: while launching SCCM reports (both from Console and web based) an unexpected error occured with error message as "The DefaultValue expression for the report parameter ‘UserTokenSIDs’ contains an error: A specified logon session does not exist.
    It may already have been terminated. (rsRuntimeErrorInExpression)"
    Solution: This is password replication issue for the domain account used to configure reporting services point in SCCM. If your SQL SSRS reporting services instance and databse runs with local default account whereas the reporting services point on SCCM
    primary site is configured with domain account, (As in My case) you need to perform the following in order to get rid of the error.
    Launch 'Reporting Services Configuration Manager' from the SQL SSRS box(either Local or Remote), Connect to Report Server Instance->Go to 'Execution Account' tab->Specify the 'Execution Account' as domain account and password which is used to configure
    Reporting Services Point in SCCM Primary Site, and then click apply.
    Now Lauch the report either way (Web based or from Console), the error will disappear and all your default reports will execute perfectly as before.

    Is there a way to turn the wireless capabilities off on an AirPort Express?  I have an AirPort Extreme as my main router and use the express to just extend it. I only really want to you use the express for hard ethernet connections. For whatever reason when I have my express extend my wifi at home the download speed from just the express is absolutely terrible, drops to about 1.5 mb compared to when it's on the extremes part of the network the speed goes up to 50-75mb. These terrible download speed really only affects the iPhones as my MacBook Pro usually gets the good speed no matter where it is. I don't believe there is anything wrong with my phone because if I am in the part of the house that uses just the extreme the download speeds on the iphone goes up to 50-75mb. As a note I have an AirPort Extreme on the top floor of my house (second floor) that's where my modem is located. On the first floor that's where one airport express is located. I also have another airport express in the basement that is accessed by my landlord. Any thoughts on how to fix this would be helpful.

    It appears that your networking goals with the AirPort Express is to use it as a wireless Ethernet bridge instead of using it to extend the wireless range of your AirPort Extreme. The latter requires that the Express Wi-Fi radios be enabled.
    If you intended to use the Express as a wireless bridge, you just need to reconfigure it to "Join a wireless" network instead of "Extend a wireless network."

    In an extended network, the placement of the extending base station is critical as it can only extend the wireless network at the bandwidth at which it receives it.
    Please check out the following AirPort User Tip for details on optimal base station placement.

  • How to pass column header as a parameter in Validation Expression (APEX4.0)

    Hello
    I created a new Page validation in APEX4.0 ( not 4.1 ).
    (1) Type : Function Returning error text
    (2) Validation Expression 1 :
    begin
    return validate_name ( p_c=> #COLUMN_HEADER# ,p_c_value=> to_date(:p26_LEAVE_FROM,'dd/mm/yyyy') );
    end;
    note: the validate_name is an oracle pl/sql procedure which takes two input parameters ( column header name and actual value ) and return a specific error message ( to that column ) or NULL.
    (3) In the Error Message section, I left Error Message blank ( as the app ignored the mssage but used the one returned from the above function)
    However, I chose "The Error display location" to be inline with field and notification" and Associated Item to be "p26_LEAVE_FROM".
    My question, it worked if I hard coded the actual column header "LEAVE FROM" , but it didn't work if I used the above #COLUMN_HEADER# in Validation Expression. Can I avoid hard coding as the column header might be changed one day. Is there a better way to deal with multiple column validations with different error message for each column ? It seems that I will have to create similar page valiation for each column to be validated.
    Thanks for your advice.

    You want something like this:

      li_sel_id := NUMBER;

      li_dep_id := NULL; -- or some number
      li_sel_id := NULL; -- or some number
      li_date DATE := sysdate;
      lio_return_message.col1 := somevalue;
      lio_return_message.col2 := somevalue;
