Validation for the transaction OY03

Hi Experts,
I want to add a currency validation in the transaction OY03, since OY03 is transaction for table maintenace I have to add an event to vaidate the data entered in the sm30 screen. Since it is a standard table SAP is not allowing me to add an event. Please let me know how to overcome this problem, is there any way to add events to a standard SAP table maintenace?

Thank you very much for your reply.
I tried to add an event in the maintenace using SE54 transaction, I am able create an entry for the event. but it is neither allowing me to include that particular part of code in any of the available includes nor creating a new include.
This is the issue I am facing.

Hi,
When you are doing the recording in SHDB, and in the same screen where the TCODE to be recorded is given, there are options that you can choose called "Recording Parameters"...Select the checkbox which says "Not a Batch Input Session", this will set the sy-binpt variable to " "(in a recording by default it is "X")...and you will not get this error...
Also make sure while writing the BDC program to make use of the "bdc options" parameter which has this property to switch of sy-binpt...

Running BDC program in background for the transaction VL02N

Hi All,
I have coded a BDC program (call transaction method) for the transaction code VL02N. I can able to run the program manually & successfully. But if I execute the program in background(SM36), it is going to dump giving CNTL_ERROR.
Note: I am not using any of the GUI_UPLOAD, GUI_DOWNLOAD funciton modules in the program. But I am using the FTP command funtion modules like( FTP_COMMAND, FTP_CONNECT, FTP_DISCONNECT and FTP_SERVER_TO_R/3).

VL02N is an enjoy transaction. You cant run it in background. Please try VL02.

ok well like lllaass said, most apps require 4.3 or later iOS software. chances are since the apps worked before, the apps themselves got updated and will no longer work with your software version.

How to Disable client side validation for the message text input

Hi,
I have scenario where i need to by pass the client side validation for a message text input
Scenario is
I have a message text input field(say XYZ), i set the max length for the item as 20
Now when im trying to enter the greek characters into it, it is allowing me to enter till 20 characters
But when i try to submit the form ..my client side validation is firing..
The Error says the XYZ is too long
The problem is, in greek each character takes two bytes.(In english it is only 1).While entering the content it allowing 20 characters and when validating it is checking for bytes(if we enter in greek the length will be 40 bytes not 20)
I cannot increase the max length .coz i have restrict the character length to 20 only.(english or Greek).
Please help me in this regard.

Message no. V1 198

You have tried to carry out a business transaction for this sales and distribution document item which, for this item, is not allowed.
This may be due to the fact that this item is not part of a make-to-order production with cost management in the sales order."
I have used an item category which is copy of TAB and the sales order line item is attached to WBS element.
can any one guide me what needs to be done.

If you want the sales order creation to initiate a PO creation automatically, check if the "Create PO Automatically" button is ticked on for the item category in Transaction flow tab in tcode VOV7
This will solve your problem, provided your configuration for PO on the MM side is fine.

How to create a validation for the project coding mask

Hi,
Would just like to ask how to create a validation for the project coding mask wherein the WBS elements hierarchy will be checked against the template saved. For example,
project coding mask is XXXX-XXXXX-XX-X-X-X-00-X
mother WBS should be XXXX-XXXXX-X and lower level WBS would be XXXX-XXXXX-XX.
The validation should not allow a mother WBS to be XXXX-XXXXX-XX.
How can we go about this?

You can use validation with the combination of the level and the coding mask.
In the validation:
Pre requisite: WBS level = 1
Validation: Prps-posid = prps-posid :1-12:
Message : Error
If required you can give the parameters for your detail error message.

XML Parser Message: Element series is not valid for the content model

I work with FrameMaker 8 and DITA.
I change the element prodinfo in the topic.edd from:
General rule: (prodname), (vrmlist), (brand | series | platform | prognum | featnum | component)*
to:
General rule: (brand | series | platform | component)*
When I import the element definition to the template everything is okay.
When I insert the elements metadata, prodinfo, brand, series, platform and component into a topic I get the XML Parser Message that the element brand is not valid for the content model (prodname,vrmlist, ((brand|series|platform|prognum|featnum|component))*).
When I delete the element brand in the topic I get the XML Parser Message that the element series is not valid for the content model (prodname,vrmlist, ((brand|series|platform|prognum|featnum|component))*).
I change the element prodinfo in the topic.edd to:
General rule: (brand)?, (series)?, (platform)?, (component)?
...and get the same Parser Message.
I do not understand that. Is not it allowed to change the EDD this way without changing the DTD?

Hi Nina... In general, the EDD and DTD need to sync up. You can remove elements from an EDD element definition's general rule, as long as the resulting elements are still valid to the DTD. But if changing a general rule creates an invalid structure, you'll need to also change the DTD to allow the revised structure. With DITA, it is common to remove inline elements from block-level elements. For example, you might want to remove the <msgblock>, <msgnum>, and <msgph> elements from the general rule of the element .. this can be done easily in the EDD and the resulting structure remains valid with the DTD. However, what you're doing leaves the <brand> element as a child of <prodinfo> .. which is invalid. You'll get these errors when saving a file, since this is when the file is validated against the DTD. I do not recommend modifying the structure in such a way that requires you to modify the DTD. If you really need to do this, then you should consider making a specialization to support your revised model. I hope this helps. Cheers and Happy New Year! ...scott

 Go through the following steps.
 1 . Go to the transaction NACE.
 2. You will be able to see the Application and description tab over
 there. Select the Application for which you need the output type.
 3. After selecting the Application..on the top you can see the tab--
 output types...click in that..here you will be able to see all the output
 types for that application.
 4. Now select a output type ..and on the left side u will be able to see
 the tab for processing routines...double click on it...
 5. Here you will be able to see the standard SAP program...the form
 routine...the form..attached to it..

I want to cancel an invoice for the transaction MR8M but when canceling the system displays a message blocking « No reversal possible. Reverse value must be reset », Can you help me please ?

Pl use RPR_TRIP_HEADER_DATA programme for getting general trip data, which will have details about number of KM travelled by employee for each trip, amount to reimbursed to the employee etc.

BAPI replacement for the transaction VT02

Hi All,
We are doing upgrade from 4.6C to ECC 6.0 version where we need to replace existing BDC with BAPI or a function module.
In a program we are using BDC for the transaction VT02 to update the fields End date (VTTK-DATEN) and End time (VTTK-UATEN) for the given shipments. Please suggest a BAPI or Function module to replace the existing BDC for VT02 transaction.
The BAPI 'BAPI_SHIPMENT_CHANGE' is not released officially in ECC 6.0 version. Can we use it in ECC 6.0 version? If yes, please let me know how to call this BAPI with only these three fields(Shipment number-TKNUM, Shipment end date-DATEN and Shipment end time-UATEN).

Reg : Enhacement for the transaction code MD04

Hi experts,
I have implemented an user exit for the transaction code MD04 where in the stock/requirement list I am supposed to add a new column for the exception number which displays the exception description for the corresponding exception number.
The coding part for fetching the exception description for the corresponding exception number is done in the include 'ZXM61U03'.
The problem is in the importing parameter IMDEZEXIT in which all the screen data will be present basing on which the data fetching is done .The AUSKT(Exception number) value is not getting populated . All the other data in the row is getting populated.
Please suggest e a solution for this.
