Variable to reference the source dir

Hi,
I want to add a file to my project that can be referenced using a variable like project.sourcepath or something like that so that I can upload the file being referenced to cvs and when it's downloaded I know it's going to be the correct path on whichever machine the cvs is downloaded to.
Is there a standard java method to do this? eg (myApp.TheFilePath)
Cheers,
Geoff

If you can't find something suitable in system properties (see the System.getProperties method), then no.
You can create your own persistent property value, see java.util.Properties and java.util.perfs, and check the java command -D option as a way to set a property when starting java.
If you use Java 5, then you can also set an os environment variable and retrieve it from within Java, see the System class method getenv(varname).

  • "Referenced" Table Cells not copying formatting of the source table

    Hi-
    I have one sheet that has a rental inventory table that is quite large.  On another page, I have a "printable" version that has filtering applied to hide certain columns.
    What I did orginally was duplicate the table on the inventory page, cut it, then go to my printable sheet, and paste it.  I now have a duplicate version of the original.  Then I go and select all cells, hit delete and all the contents disappear leaving me with the correct formating.
    At this point I can type in cells and see that the formating is intact (certain cells are in Bold for example).
    I delete the test contents, then reference the first cell (a1) to the source table, then copy the references across that entire printable table.  Once I've done that, all of the contents of the source table now appear in the "printable" table.
    The problem is, that once I reference the source table, the formatting goes away.  The data shows up correctly:  ie, =Equip List :: B2, but the specific cell formating is gone.
    What am i doing wrong here?
    Thanks
    Matt

    "I delete the test contents, then reference the first cell (a1) to the source table, then copy the references across that entire printable table."
    If you do this by selecting and Copying the first cell containing the formula, that "copy" includes the formatting of the copied cell. If you then Paste, the Paste includes that format setting. You could try Edit > Paste and Match format.
    If that doesn't work, you could try this:
    Enter, then fill the formula as you've done, then set the format of each cell or group of cells to include the attributes you want at that location.

    Hi,
    Please try the following command to check this issue:
    New-MailboxRestoreRequest -SourceDatabase "RDB18" -SourceStoreMailbox "roger Hodges" -TargetMailbox otest -
    TargetRootFolder “folder name” –AllowLegacyDNMismatch
    In addition, when running this cmdlet, the source mailbox in the recovery database needs to be identified using one of three possible values: the
    DisplayName,
    MailboxGUID, or
    LegacyExchangeDN values. Keep in mind that you cannot reference the source mailbox using the Exchange Alias when performing a restore. You can use
    Get-MailboxStatistics cmdlet to find this information.

  • How do I Pass a parameter to a SQL Component Task where the source SQL statement is also a variable

    Hi,
    I have been tasked with making a complex package more generic.
    To achieve this I need to pass a parameter to a SQL Component Task where the source SQL statement is also a variable.
    So to help articulate my question further I have create a package and database as follows; -
    USE [KWPlay]
    GO
    /****** Object: Table [dbo].[tblTest] Script Date: 05/14/2014 17:08:02 ******/
    SET ANSI_NULLS ON
    GO
    SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON
    GO
    CREATE TABLE [dbo].[tblTest](
    [ID] [bigint] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL,
    [Description] [nvarchar](50) NULL,
    CONSTRAINT [PK_tblTest] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED
    [ID] ASC
    )WITH (PAD_INDEX = OFF, STATISTICS_NORECOMPUTE = OFF, IGNORE_DUP_KEY = OFF, ALLOW_ROW_LOCKS = ON, ALLOW_PAGE_LOCKS = ON) ON [PRIMARY]
    ) ON [PRIMARY]
    GO
    I populated this table with a single record.
    I unit tested the SQL within SSMS as follows;
    SELECT * FROM dbo.tblTest
    Result; -
    ID
    Description
    1
    Happy
    DECLARE @myParam NVARCHAR(100)
    SET @myParam = 'Sad'
    UPDATE dbo.tblTest SET [Description] = @myParam FROM dbo.tblTest WHERE ID = 1
    SELECT * FROM dbo.tblTest
    Result; -
    ID
    Description
    1
    Sad
    Within the package I created two variables as follows; -
    Name: strSQL
    Scope: Package
    Data Type: String
    Value: UPDATE dbo.tblTest SET [Description] = @myParam FROM dbo.tblTest WHERE ID = 1
    Name: strStatus
    Scope: Package
    Data Type: String
    Value: Happy
    I then created a single ‘Execute SQL Task’ component within the control flow as follows; -
    However when I run the above package I get the following error; -
    SSIS package "Package.dtsx" starting.
    Error: 0xC002F210 at Execute SQL Task, Execute SQL Task: Executing the query "UPDATE dbo.tblTest SET [Description] = @myParam FR..." failed with the following error:
    "Parameter name is unrecognized.". Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query, "ResultSet" property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly.

    errors.
    SSIS package "Package.dtsx" finished: Failure.
    I also tried; -
    Name: strSQL
    Scope: Package
    Data Type: String
    Value: UPDATE dbo.tblTest SET [Description] = ? FROM dbo.tblTest WHERE ID = 1
    However I received the error; -
    SSIS package "Package.dtsx" starting.
    Error: 0xC002F210 at Execute SQL Task, Execute SQL Task: Executing the query "UPDATE dbo.tblTest SET [Description] = ? FROM dbo...." failed with the following error: "Parameter name is unrecognized.". Possible failure reasons: Problems with
    the query, "ResultSet" property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly.
    Task failed: Execute SQL Task

    the number specified in MaximumErrorCount. Change the MaximumErrorCount or fix the errors.

    Kind Regards,
    Kieran.
    Kieran Patrick Wood http://www.innovativebusinessintelligence.com http://uk.linkedin.com/in/kieranpatrickwood http://kieranwood.wordpress.com/

    Tried; -
    Name: strSQL
    Scope: Package
    Data Type: String
    Value: UPDATE dbo.tblTest SET [Description] = ? FROM dbo.tblTest WHERE ID = 1
    and; -
    Result; -
    SSIS package "Package.dtsx" starting.
    SSIS package "Package.dtsx" finished: Success.
    Therefore the answer was to put the parameter number rather than the parameter name under the parameter mapping tab-> parameter name column.

  • How do I use a OS (Windows) Environment Variable in the source path of me ActionScript 3.0 settings

    I'm sure this can be done as I know we used something similiar at my old work place, below is an image showing what I am attempting to do.
    We used this to create more portable / shareable assets files which when symbols are linking to code, the code was very often in different directories on different machines.
    So we had set up environment variables in the OS to point to source directories and then used these variables in the source paths.
    As long as everyone had these variables set up then it would all work.
    Anyone know the correct way to do this in Flash CC
    Thanks in advance!
    Best Wishes
    Rhys Thomas

    sinious the problem with doing that is that the changed path gets into the code repository as well, so you wind up with everyone going back and forth changing it to their own value, which is a hassle. If you use relative paths and a standard project setup, then it all "just works" without a problem.
    For example, this is the setup I use:
    .dev
         .thisProject
              .Flash1
                   Flash1.as
                   .Flash1
                        Flash1.xfl
                   .view
                        .audioAssets
                        .customViews
              .SoundLib
                   SoundLib.xfl
              SoundLib.swc
         .bin <swfs are output here
              .xml
         .core
              .control
              .model
              .service
              .view
    We have a "base project" that you check out to start a new project (we do heaps of similar work), and the paths are already set up to be relative. Having each project point to its own copy of the core code allows for fine-grained control of which revision you're using--we've even pointed deliberately to old versions or branches on rare occasions.
    The bin folder is actually shared with the website repository, which is in a different directory from the Flash source code (in the website, it has a different name). This allows the generated swfs to be easily updated and ensures that the latest XML is being used both for development and on the site.
    The "thisProject" folder actually includes a Flash Builder workspace with all the standard shortcuts, etc., already set up. This is primarily because of how the "default path" works when you create a new Flash Pro project in FB. Because we output a level up from the workspace, we hack the .metadata folder every time, but that's a small change.

  • URL Variables used to set the source property for the VIDEO COMP.

    Can you take a url variable and have that variable be the value for the source parameter of the video playback component in flash CS4 or CS5?
    Example:

    var videoFile:String = [who do I get the url variable's value here?]

  • Is there a way to reference a variable name by the value of a String?

    I realize my title may not be expressing the question accurately so...
    In perl I can do this:
    $varname = "nIterations";
    ${$varname} = 27;
    which is the same thing as
    $nIterations = 27;
    Is there a way to do this in Java?
    eg I want something like
    String varname = new String( "nIterations" );
    How can I refer to a variable programmatically from the value of the varname string, or is there not a way to do this?
    Thanks!
    -Andy

    Thank you, I'm very new to java and am not sure I am seeing the big picture. I searched the forums and found this example:
    Map textFieldMap = new HashMap();
    textFieldMap.put("1", new JTextField());
    textFieldMap.put("2", new JTextField());
    JTextField textField = (JTextField)textFieldMap.get("1");
    textField.setText("some value"); // text field associated with "1"
    What I am confused with is how those textfields correspond to the 48+ textfields I have already placed on my applet canvas. I understand the example above as far as using the map to access specific textfields, but I am not sure how those textfields will match up to the ones I have ( which are named right now S11 , S12, ..., S116, ..., S31, S32, .., S316
    I am sure I am missing something.
    Thank you

  • How to reference the Parent view Object attribute in Child View object

    Hi , I have the requirememt to generate Tree like struture to display Salary from joining date to retirement date in yearly form.I have writtent two Pl/SQL function to return parent node and child nodes(based on selected year).
    1.First function --> Input paramter (employee id, retirement date , joining date) --> return parent node row with start_date and end_date
    2. 2nd function --> input paarmter(employee id, startDate, end_date) --> return child node based on selected parent node i.e. start date and end date
    I have created two ADF view object based on two function return
    Parent Node --> select * from Table( EUPS.FN_GET_CONTR_SAL_BY_YR(employeeId,retirement Date, dateOf joining)) ;
    Child Node --> select * FROM TABLE( EUPS.FN_GET_CONTR_SAL_FOR_YEAR( employeId,startDate, endDate) ) based on selected parent node.
    I am giving binding variable as input for 2nd function (child node) . I don't know how to reference the binding variable value in child view from parent view.
    Like I have to refernce employeId,startDate, endDate values in 2nd function from parent view object. some thing like parentNode.selectedStart_date parentNode.employeeId.
    I know we can achive this writing the code in backing bean.But i want to know how can we refernce parent view object attribute values in child view object using Groovy or otherway?
    I will appreciate your help.

    I have created view link(ContractualSalYearlyByYearViewLink) betweem two view by giving common field empId, stDate , endDate.(below is the view link xml file).
    I tried give the binding attribute values using parent object reference like below in com.ContractualSalaryByYearlyView xml file but getting error

  • How to reference the value of items in a generic report

    Hello
    I have created a generic report. The source is a PL/SQL-Function returning a query stored in a package of the parsing schema, using the apex_item package. I set the p_item_id values depending on p_idx and rownum. In the browser I can see the unique (id="...") of the items. The report works well.
    One column is an analytical funtion and shows for every row the same value. The column is hidden. Depending on that value I want to show or hide buttons.
    How can I get the value of this column. Apex_application.g_fxx don't work. Apex_application.g_fxx.COUNT =0 for all possible columns.
    So how can I reference the value in the report.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

  • Implementing an Effect that looks ahead in the source

    Hello all,
    I need to create an application which reads from one AVI file, processes each frame with a special effect, and outputs the result to another AVI of the same format. Fairly standard stuff.
    I am fairly new to JMF but I think I have the basic methodology right: creating a Processor, and then during the Configured state, adding a new Effect to the Codec chain of the Processors first TrackControl.
    The thing I am unsure about is this: the Effect I am programming needs to 'look ahead' in the source i.e. it needs to see frames 1, 2 and 3 before it can write frame 1 of the output.
    Does the process(Buffer input, Buffer output) method of Effect is called for each frame of the video, providing a Buffer for each frame at a time? In this case can I buffer the first three frames for myself, and withhold output until the third frame?
    Or is process(Buffer input, Buffer output) called once by the Processor, with the in/out buffers represent the entire stream and able to be read and written to 'asynchronously'? In this case, when I use javax.util.BufferToImage to get my actual frames to apply the effect, do successive calls step through the frames, how do I reference specific frames from this context?
    I'll stop speculating now - I hope someone can nudge me in the right direction... Thanks very much for any advice.

    Hello Darkmoon_UK,
    Your problem seems similar to my one.
    I want to implement a slow motion effect with jmf. I also read from an avi file.
    First thing I hava to ask is, whether your effect simply plays the original video into the new file, if you only add
    output.copy(input);
    into process()-method.
    I dont't know if it is important, but I add the new Effect to the codec chain AFTER ConfiguredCompleteEvent, not during Configured state. And this works (at least simply playing the video works, not my slow motion effect ;-) ).
    Next thing is you should insert some System.out.println()s into your process()-method code to discover that it is called several times (for each frame of the video).
    I think it is possible to buffer all the frames into an collection out of java.util.* and make a specific variable (int frameCounter) count the frames by calling frameCounter++; at the end of the process()-method. Same effect is using input.getSequenceNumber(), I think. With the help of a Collection of java.util (ArrayList or something else), it should be possible to access any frame out of the video.
    Well, I'm also still learning and trying to force JMF to do what I want, not the other way round, as it is at the moment. I hope this little bit of information I gave you could help you solve your problem or at least nudge you in the right direction.

  • Is there a way to reference the property node value of a control in another VI?

    Let's say that I have a situation like the one shown in the attached image.
    I have an interlock system which is basically a bunch of booleans
    If for example the "RF Enable" button in the "interlock VI" is true, then I should be able to flick the ON switch in my other VI (in the back), but if the value is FALSE, then it shouldn't allow it.
    In other words, how do I check the value of a control across 2 separate VIs (running simultaneously)?
    Thanks!!

    Is one VI launched by the other, or are they launched independently? If it's the former then you just need to pass the control reference to the subVI via terminal node. If it's the latter there are a variety of ways to handle this:
    Use a global variable - somewhat "sloppy" as it requires a global variable, and can lead to race conditions. In the "Interlock" VI you just set the value of the global variable when you change the value of the Boolean. In the other you're just reading it.
    Action Engine - Ben wrote a Community Nugget a while back. Similar concept to a global variable.
    Queue - The "Interlock" VI simply pops an element onto the queue with the value. The other VI just monitors the queue for a new element. It just needs to have something like a shift register to keep track of the last state.
    Use the VI Server to access the controls of the "Interlock" VI. You can do this by accessing the "Interlock" VI's pane and get the control references. With the control reference you just need to get the value with a property node.
    ... (I'll let others chime in)

  • How do I reference the data object in a DataGrid to show an image correctly in Acrobat?

    I'm creating an inferface for an Acrobat application  and I'm having a issue with displaying an image in a grid.  When I hard code the source="statusNONE.png" it works as intended (with an image, not the image associated with each grid item), however, when I try to use the source="{data.@icon}" to reference the dataProvider (XMLListCollection) I get nothing.  Not a broken image or anything.  I think I may just not be referencing the XMLListCollection correctly, otherwise I don't know why it would work with hard coding vs. fetching the string from the XML.

    Additional information.  I'm using the resources tab for the flash embedding in Acrobat for my images. This works when I am hard coding the file name string works for the source without having to add a full path, the images are not technically bundled into the swf.   I just don't understand why using the data object to get that same string would show different results.
    tl;dr: GridItemRenderer works to show images when hard coded but not when using {data}.
    UPDATE: Figured it out, needed to add a toString() to the data.@icon.   I had assumed it was a string being handed over, I assumed wrong.

    Probably because data.@icon isn't a String, it is an XMLList, and source property is an Object not a String so the runtime doesn't automatically convert it.

  • What are differences between the target tablespace and the source tablespac

    The IMPDP command create so manay errors. But the EXAMPLE tablespace is transported to the target database successfully. It seems that the transported tablespace is no difference with the source tablespace.
    Why create so many errors?
    How to avoid these errors?
    What are differences between the target tablespace and the source tablespace?

    Short of trying to then reverse-engineer the objects that are in the dump file (I believe Data Pump export files contain some XML representations of DDL in addition to various binary bits, making it potentially possible to try to scan the dump file for the object definitions), I would tend to assume that the export didn't include those type definitions.
    Since it looks like you're trying to set up the sample schemas, is there a reason that you wouldn't just run the sample schema setup scripts on the destination database? Why are you using Data Pump in the first place?

  • How can I either move or view the source of a JAVA CLASS user object?

    I am using Oracle 8i and I have the following JAVA CLASS objects in my database. I need to move some of these objects to a different database.

    2) How can I view the JAVA source code since these are classes?
    My knowledge of Oracle is limited. I have searched and searched and I can't find the answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated

    The source far java class objects that are not derived from java source objects
    (which is the case here, and is typically the case, such as when one loads
    classes into the database using loadjava on a jar that contains only .class
    files) does not exist in the database (just as it does not exist in a jar which
    contains only .class files). So there is essentially no way to view the source, short of extracting the bytecodes and using some decompiling tool. I don't recall what methodologies exist for extracting bytecodes in 8i. As for transferring
    the classes to another database, the standard Oracle import/export tool can do this.
