Variables export from Calc Manager

Hi,
I have a list of run time prompts which I need to export from Dev server to Test server. When I take the export, I cannoy see the option for rtp as TRUE in the exported .xml file.
For example, here I defined a rtp with checking both the RTP and the Use Last Variable. The output came as below.
<variable id="4" name="testvar2" product="Planning" type="member" usage="const">
<property name="application">PLab13</property>
<property name="plantype">Plan1</property>
<property name="useLastValue">false</property>
<property name="group"></property>
<property name="dimension">Period</property>
<property name="prompt_text">Please enter</property>
<value>"Jan"</value>
<limits type="list">
<property name="value">"YearTotal"</property>
</limits>
</variable>
Afetr that when I am trying to import the same into a different server, RTP is not showing as checked. Therefore, I cannot use the same in rules unless manually I am checking the RTP checkbox.
Please suggest what needs to be done in this case.
Thanks.

Thanks a million for guiding towards the right path. Just tested the export-import data template. And it worked like a charm!

  • Extract BR's from calc manager database

    Does any one have a SQL code to extract the Business rules from calc manager database in 11.1.1.3?
    I need this for Backup/Restore purpose.

    I don't think you can get it easily Calc manager stores rule as XML file and if you look at the xml file the code starts from something called as !CDATA (I don't know how close i'm, but it is something with CDATA).
    I would recommend to backup all the tables and if you are interested in exporting the code part only, then you'll need a OS based script or even use Oracle XMLTable (I've not tried it)

  • Enable/select/change to Business rules from Calc Manager in App settings

    Hi all,
    Somehow we are Unable to Expand the Planning Node in Essbase Administration Services (EAS) Console When Creating Business Rules. I am not sure is it
    I am not sure, is it because of one of the application has calc settings as calc manager in under application settings in dev environment, but in other environment all applications set it as Business Rules.
    I was trying to change from Calc Manager to Business rules in App settings, but it is grayed out and not able to change to Business rule from calc manager.
    Please suggest me.
    Thanks,

    If it say been set incorrectly then you may need to update one of the relational tables for the application.
    Table - HSP_SYSTEMCFG
    Field - CALC_ENGINE_OPTIONS
    Values - 1=HBR, 2=CalcMgr
    Restart the planning application web app service after making changes.

  • Business Rules Validation when validating from Calc Manager

    When I try to validate a business rule that has been migrated to calc manager, it throws an error:
    Error compiling formula .... Operator expected after ... brname.
    What could be the reason it is throwing such error.
    Thanks

    The thread points to having a file "CDF_STRING.JAR" in  <MIDDLEWARE_HOME>/EPMSystem11R1/products/Essbase/EssbaseServer/java/udf folder.
    However, I do not have this file in this location. There is a file "CALCMGRCDF.JAR"
    Do we need to have the "CDF_STRING.JAR" file as well or just the "CALCMGRCDF.JAR" is good in version 11.1.2.3 calc manager.
    Thanks

  • How do I locate RAW files to export from a managed library?

    I have a decade's worth of managed Aperture libraries. The majority of the Masters are jpeg files but at least 30% of the originals are raw files. I am wanting to change to a referenced library structure which is accessible from other applications. Can anyone tell me how I can tell, from within Aperture, which projects are raw based and how to retrieve these raw image files? I expect there is a simple answer which will prompt a "duh" and a forehead slap but it is eluding me at the moment. I know that if I open the library package and rummage around I can locate raw files but the context is lost and often utterly confusing in the arcane folder structure Aperture uses.

    You can create smart albums or searches in Aperture to find all images with RAW original files.
    Use the command:   File > New > Smart album
    Then add a rule from the "Add Rule" drop down menu to the Smart Settings HUD:
    "File Type is RAW"
    and click the checkmark next to the rule.
    This will show you all images that are RAW.
    Just to be sure, you know, that you need to be careful not to move or modify referenced images in any way by accessing them from other applications, right?

  • Issues while manually exporting from Data Manager

    Hi Guru's,
    When we try to export dat in Excel Or Text OR Access and select/tick Qualifiers for exporting then "Split qualified lookup fields into multiple rows" gets ticked automatically and greys it out,so cant even untick it......
    This causes issues as we want the whole data of record to come in single row  and not in multiple row..
    Any idea/setting which can fix this..

  • Setting bind variable for a view object from the Managed Bean

    Hi,
    i am using JDeveloper 11g, i have to create LOV in the JSF. To show the LOV, it has to populate data using View object and its query parameter need to be sent from the Managed Bean.
    For the View object i want to set the bind variable parameter from the managed bean value. bename is stored in a managed bean (session scope)
    #{beantest.bename}
    But it gives the following exception.
    JBO-29000: Unexpected exception caught:
    org.codehaus.groovy.control.MultipleCompilationErrorsException,msg=startup failed, Script1.groovy: 1: expecting '!',found '{'@ line1, column 2.
    I have followed the link http://kr.forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=615474 like Frank wrote on 8.2.2008:
    But steps are not clear.
    How to input the VO bind parameter with Managed bean variable?
    Any Help

    Hi,
    a bind variable in a VO needs to be exposed as an executeWithParams operation in the pageDef file. Just add a new action binding to the pageDef file (context menu) and select the executeWithParams operation on teh VO. Then in the argument field, reference the managed bean property for the value

  • LCM: Foundation Calc Manager vs Planning Rules Files

    I need to LCM rules files and see the rules in 2 different places, Foundation -> Calc Manager and Planning -> Rules Files. Which one is the correct file from which to LCM, and what is the difference between them?
    Also, files that were brought in via LCM show under Planning -> Rules Files but NOT under Foundation -> Calc Manager. Why would this be?
    Thanks!
    FA

    For this you need to understand the underlying design. Unlike HBR, which acted as the Rules repository, in Calc Manager, rules need to be deployed to Planning from Calc Manager. Once the rule is deployed to Planning, it (Planning) maintains the copy of the rule in it's repository. You can continue to make changes to your rules in calc manager and it will not have any effect on the rule in Planning.
    So during LCM, you will the rules in 2 places, one in Calc Manager (the version can be different from what is in Planning) and also in Planning.
    So you can import the Planning rules via LCM and it will run without calc manager coming in to picture. But if you want to edit these rules and deploy it back to Planning, you would need to import the rule via lcm in to Calc Manager and redeploy to Planning.

  • FIM - How to obtain pending exports from a MA

    I promised a colleague I would post my script on parsing the "Pending Exports"  from a management agent via the "Log File and Stop" Export run profile.
    The script parses through the XML document and creates a report (which can be loaded into Excel after saving as a CSV) to sort and report on any objects with an EAF or that are being added/deleted/modified in that particular MA.
    This is typically most useful after performing a Full Sync due to deploying a big change, new management agent, adding an attribute-flow, changing precedence or go-live. Since I wanted to explain it more in detail, I posted it on my blog, but feel free to
    add it to the scriptbox if you think its helpful.
    FIM - Export Pending Changes
    Update:
    I ended up writing and posting my c# console application in addition to the script, after working on a project with some ECMA. The script can parse the MA Export XML file and the c# console app can parse the CSExport.exe XML file, for more details refer
    to the blog post.
    P.S. There may be a few bugs; for those of you that use either the script or program, let me know if you encounter any issues.

    I got a memory error (my XML file was 500MB+)
    Error: Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown.
    I tried with and without the showModifications switch.
    csExport doesn't have a notion of -resultSize, so perhaps your parser could?

  • Calc Manager Performance

    Does anyone know any background setting for Calc Manager performance
    We have a number of calcs that are quite long but very straightforward (as in there are no errors). Some of them won't validate before they time out and ultimately my ruleset wont deploy either before it times out.

    I think your reply is related to "running" BR once you have deployed it from Calc manager.
    I am in Calc manager itself. Have created a rule and hit validate. It spins and spins then finally crashes with an error message saying something about time-out.
    I looked at your link and this seems more related to background processes when you "run" a calc from Planning. In my case I'm still in EPMA

  • Issue with substitution variable with @MDSHIFT in BR in Calc Manager

    Hi Experts,
    We have a BR in EAS which is working fine.
    and exported to Calcmanager, now while validation it is giving error "@BaseScenario" is not found.
    the code is
    @MDSHIFT("LFLSalesIncVAT_GBP_C_DHP"->&BaseScenario->"Final"->"CD_FinalPlanPL",-1,"Year",,1,"Period",);
    if i hard code it like @MDSHIFT("LFLSalesIncVAT_GBP_C_DHP"->"P7PP"->"Final"->"CD_FinalPlanPL",-1,"Year",,1,"Period",); working fine.
    is there any limitation with calc manger and substitution variables?
    Thanks
    GP

    There seems to be many issues with validations in calc manager, does the rule run if you dont validate.

  • Define and assign values to variables in calc manager

    Hi all,
    I have created a smartlist in data form for user to select the start month and end month.In BR,based on the smartlist ID,i need to assign the months to a variable,which i will later use it in the same BR.
    For Eg:In data form,from the smartlists,user has choosen "Jul" for start month and "Nov" for end month,hence the smartlist ID is 7 for start month and 11 for end month.Now in calc manager,i have created 2 variables as "DateFrom" and "DateTo" of type "member" for dimension "Period"
    Note: "Jan" to "Dec" are period dim level 0 members
    IF(start month==1)
    DateFrom="Jan";
    ELSEIF(startmonth==2)
    DateFrom="Feb";
    ELSEIF(start month==7)
    DateFrom="Jul";
    ELSE
    DateFrom="Dec";
    ENDIF;
    Similarly for end month as below:
    IF(end month==1)
    DateTo="Jan";
    ELSEIF(end month==11)
    DateTo="Nov";
    ELSE
    DateTo="Dec";
    ENDIF;
    Above method of assigning a value to a variable is not working and no values assigned to the 2 variables "DateFrom" and "DateTo"
    Kindly help me on any additional steps required to use variables in calc manager.
    Thanks!

    Cant you use the values from RTP directly? What is the logic you are trying to build?
    One of the ways to achieve this is to use Calc TP Index member, if you are not sure of this, create a workforce application and you will get the formula for calc TP index member in Essbase.
    Edited: I just checked other question from you, will revert on that in some time.
    Cheers..!!

  • What is the best settings to use in the export manager when exporting from Aperture 3.5 to Photoshop cc.  tiff? psd? 16bit? dpi?

    What are the best settings to use in the export manager when exporting from Aperture 3.5 to Photoshop cc for editing?
    Should I use tiff or psd?
    8bit or 16bit?
    How many dpi?

    That will depend on the photometric resolution of your originals. For jpegs it would be a waste of space to convert them to a higher resolution than 8bit, but if your images actually have already more than 8bit, you will want to preserve this quality. Then he 16bit format will help to prevent color clipping.
    Both tiff and psd will preserve the lossless workflow. With Photoshop as external editor I would use he psd format for better support of layers and transparency, e.g., when you want to create watermark files.
    The dpi will only matter, when you export the file for printing.
