Various T61 software issues and finding a local service provider

Hi all,
just got t61 two weeks ago, already have several problems, 1, can't open task manage, virus??2, internet connection takes 1/2 hr, 3, can't into share network, 4, no revorery CD, either didn't come with it or didn't creat one at begining. 5, how to format, back to original ? anyone can help me out? thanks

Hello J,
It sounds like you've got a handful of software issues alright. Those are rather difficult to diagnose over the phone, much less the internet.
I highly recommend you to take a look at our Welcome and FAQ board, where a lot of frequently asked questions & answers are compiled for easy rereference. If you look at the "Frequenty Asked Questions" thread which is locked at the top of that board, you will find a lot of good information including how to create your recovery CD's. I would recommend you do that first thing and go from there.
You also seemed indicated wanting to find a local service location. You can find this information at http://lenovo.com/support and click "Find a service provider" under "Related Links" on the left side of the page.

    Having a similar issue with my MacBook Pro w/Retina 2012.
    I did the reinstall my self and incrementally did the updates by downloading them from Apple's website instead of using the App Store.
    I found that the problem occured after updating to OS X 10.9.3.
    The issue is in a 4k resolution update for mirroring displays.  Not that you should be doing that from an iMac but your packaged update may have been similar even though the update was meant for 2013 MacBook Pro's.
    You can try reseting the Nvram chip during boot up by pressing "Option + P + R" keys.  You may have to do this after entering your password to log in if you have that set up on your computer.  However this only works on certain models of Mac hardware and may not do anything at all.
    After you get your second opinion from Apple, if they again confirm it's a software issue, then you should reinstall OS X Mavericks and download updates from the website instead of the app store.  This way you control your updates.  You will find the OS X 10.9.2 update as well as a seperate security update prior to the released update of the dreaded OS X 10.9.3
    Again if you don't want the issue to occur again, then hold off on updating to OS X 10.9.3, but be cautioned that you do so at the risk of leaving your computer less secured even though it will seem to run better.

It turns on, but Freezes on the LG Logo. it currently goes into the LG Download Mode, and When I restore with LG's Mobile Support Tool, It finishes, reboots, and stays at the boot Logo.     It may be a situation where we all wait for things to clear up.  The Verizon Cloud has been having issues for a very long time.  Have you tried backing up contacts to your Gmail account, if you have one?

    I am travelling to the UK and have 2 old World Phones. Can I buy a Vodaphone "pay as you go" SIM card and activate these phones under local UK service for my kids while we are there? I really only need phone and text or BIM service.

    No, it wont work on 3G networks in U.S, it only supports WCDMA 2100 and 900, Whereas to work on U.S 3G networks a device should support atleast WCDMA 850 or 1900 look here

  • Trackpad is clicking by itself and a local Service Provider tells me to "adjust my fingers" what should I do?

    I have this Macbook Air 2011, and now, one or two months before warranty expires, trackpad started acting up, when I move a mouse it register clicks, when I scroll the page it registers right-clicks all the time.
    I have brought it to the only service provider here in Phuket, Thailand - Phuket Alpha. First time I brought it in they claimed the notebook was in repair because the serial number in about my mac was missing. No idea what was that - I bought it boxed. But ok, they have said they have fixed the issue with trackpad, but as soon as I started to use the notebook I realised that nothing have changed basically.
    After a few days I brought it back - next day they called me claiming that there is no issue and asking for the user password, but I demoed it with a Guest user, so they gave me the notebook back claiming that they have cleaned up contacts. Of course nothing had changed.
    So I came again, and they told me to "adjust my fingers" and refused to accept it as a problem.
    What can I do? There is a Thai number at Apple support site, but they speak Thai there, I don't understand anything. Also the support site for Thailand is in Thai as well. I can testify that trackpad is not all right, but how can I get them to accept the issue? Call to US help line? Write to Tim Cook?

  • Port issue with j2ee engine, http service provider

    hi gurus,
    on two of our standalone j2ee servers, the j2ee engine is up and running fine. from the mmc everything shows green including messager server.
    but when i connect to the j2ee page using browser either from the client machine or  on the server it never gives me an error message but the status bar keeps processing. never throws any sort of dispatcher or 500 error messages.
    There were some GRC-Virsa components deployed over the weekend not sure if that had changed something.
    After intial research the port information in the HTTP service provider showed 80 for http and 443 for ssl (https)so i had manually changed it to 50000 and 50001 from config tool respectively , restarted the server.
    After the restart the j2ee page came up and the very second http request it goes to the loop again with no error message, whats the reason behind this sort of behavior. i have made the port changes over the whole cluster and restarted.
    surprising it works only for the first time after restart, the very second http request never accepted by dispatcher/server process , no error message though.
    environment, nw04s with plain j2ee, windows 2003, sql2008
    please assist.

    thanks sean for responding, infact the issue is resolved yesterday.
    Reason due to insufficient application threads and make sure the right port defined in HTTP service provider. So fixing these two things resolved the issue

  • HT4061 is it possible to unlock a japan iphone and to know the service provider bought it second hand

    A friend of mine have received a second hand iphone bought in Japan and we try it here in the UAE unfortunately it was locked and we don't know the service provider.  Is there any possibility to check the service provider and have it unlock so he could use it here.  I will come back and check the phone details

    If the phone originated in Japan, then you are out of luck because none of the Japanese carriers offer unlocking for their phones.
    Bottom Line:  You can't use the phone in the UAE and you will have to buy another phone if you want to use it.

  • Where can I find an Apple service provider in Lebanon?

    I bought a new MacBook Air in September, and now it seems like the inside of one of the USB ports has been bent, so I cannot use it anymore. Which effectively leaves me with only one functional USB port, which is not cool when the storage on the machine is so low.
    I live in Lebanon now, and wonder if there is any certified service provider for Macs in Beirut? The Apple support gives me zero useful information on this topic.

    You will be charged for an International SMS everytime you "ACTIVATE" iMessage or FaceTime service. Using iMessage and FaceTime thereafter is free. It informs you through a pop-up window stating this fact everytime you try to activate any of these services.

  • Software issue, not finding network

    My powerbook g4 (10.4) cannot find the wireless network in my home, however my pda finds the network fine. I booted the powerbook off of an external hard drive running 10.3 and it finds the network fine. Any ideas for what to do about this? Any help would be appreciated.

    While booted from 10.4, check to see that the OS is recognizing the AirPort Extreme card in your PowerBook by using the System Profiler utility. If it shows up there, then try the following:
    Move SystemConfiguration folder
    (Note: You will have to reestablish your network connections settings.)
    - Go to /Library/Preferences
    - Move the SystemConfiguration folder and com.apple.networkConfig.plist file to the desktop.
    - Restart your Mac. (Note: OS X will rebuild the files that are now sitting on your desktop. If this doesn't resolve the issue, you can move the folder & .plist file back to it's original location.)

  • Suddenly no Software Opens and finder acts weird. Hacked??

    Hi, I have a Macbook pro 15" 8,2 with Lion 10.7.3
    What happened is that suddenly all programs stopped working,
    -Photoshop
    -Skype
    -Archicad
    -Safari (opens and crashes)
    -Firefox (opens and after sometime it gives a script error and crashes)
    -Sophos Anti-virus is running in the backround, but everytime I open preferences it crashes... the same as others.
    -Parallels
    -Clean My Mac
    All the above and more that I didn't opened, syntoms: they lagged the all system when starting, crashed by themselves and issued reports, that I've sended.
    -Finder: any file I try to right click, when I right-click the finder crashes and restarts (and if files are moving from one folder to another they stop)
    I've rebooted severall times, and the problem persisted, even in single-user or safe-mode.
    Mail, calendar, contacts and Disk Utility open with no problems.
    Started OS X LIon recovery USB and failed (apple logo passed to a forbiden logo)
    For the moment I succesfully backedup everything, and the only thing I could do was was reboot and do the cmd+r ... recovery assistant.
    It booted, downloaded Lion and installed it above the other one, has soon it rebooted, everything worked fine again, supposely for the moment.
    Now I'm going to boot with OS X Lion Install in a USB, format the HD completely (I use HTFS+ with Password) and install Lion from scratch.
    Now, I don't know if this was an Issue with the latest safari update or 10.7.3, or ... and this is what I'm afraid of, with so much level of security:
    -Firewall, encrypted HD and account, sophos anti-virus, is it possible by I've been connected to a public wi-fi, to have been target of hackers?
    At home I use the Internet with the Network cable, and sometimes the wi-fi, it depends.

    For a start uninstall Sophos anti-virus. Not needed and known to cause many conflicts, then we can work from there. Make sure you uninstall it with the uninstaller that came with it or as per the developers instructions at their site.
