VDBench 504 Access Denied and Invalid Parameter

I am trying to run VDBench 504 on a Win7 install to apply the Jedec219 workload. My command string is:
vdbench -f jedec219.txt -o output.csv
The Jedec219 file looks like this:

With the drive (E:) formatted, I run in to the 10 error count with errorno: Windows System Error code 5: Access is denied.
With the drive partition deleted, the error changes to code 87:The parameter is incorrect.
If you have any insight, or see anything blatantly wrong with my attempts, I would appreciate your response in how to deal with this.

When writing to a drive letter '\\.\e:' or even a disk drive \\physicaldriveX you must first remove the file system.
This is Window's way of assuring that you do not accidentally overwrite your disk drives.

ConfigMgr uses the site server's AD computer account by default -- which is indicated in the log above by the text using account 'Machine Account' -- so you checking access using your account is meaningless except to prove that the admin$ share exists.
You need to either configure a client installation account or grant the site server's AD computer account local admin permissions on the target system.

Shared folders (Windows file shares) show access denied and do not prompt for credentials

Scenario:
Like other admins, I log on and work as a 'standard user' (usera) with no admin rights anywhere in the domain, to perform admin tasks I have another account (userb) which I authenticate with as and when required. userb has been allocated/delegated permissions
as required.
Problem:
When trying to connect to shared folders on servers (2008 R2) using a UNC patch via Windows Explorer (Win 7 Ent.), I see an access denied error and do not get an option to supply alternative credentials.
If I try to connect to the admin shares on the same server (\\server\C$ or \\server\e$) I get an access denied message AND get prompted for credentials. I supply my admin account and gain access as expected.
If I check share and storage management when attempting to connect, I see that Windows is trying to connect me to each share as usera (which has no access). I understand why I get access denied at this point, but not why it can't just prompt me to supply an
account that does have access. When trying the admin shares I also see the usera account, but I get a prompt to supply a user who does have access.
Share permissions on the folders are for example 'Everyone' Full Control. NTFS permissions are 'userb' has modify (read, execute, list, traverse etc) via a 'Server Admins' AD Universal security group.
Note: If I do a NET USE from CMD and use the /USER switch, I can access the shares fine. But this is not great for accessing shared folders on the fly from various computers.
How can I get the other shares on the server to prompt me, rather than just say access denied?

Severity: 3 Administrative access denied, and lost wireless connection

What does that mean? I am currently watching my Logs file update every other second with a new line that looks like someone is trying to access my Airport.
The date is wrong too, says Dec. 31 when it's May 31. Line is as follows:
Dec 31 19:03:15 Severity:3 Administrative access denied to fe80::21e:c2ff:fec0:4f0d%mirror0/49925.
The original reason why I was looking at the Log was because I got bounced off my Airport again. It happens now and then, when there are a bunch of wireless connections in the building, I can see them listed, but when it happens, my own Airport is missing from the list.
The other issue is that I am not interested in paying for someone else's internet access. I have it password protected, but the person I *think might be trying to hack it, is a computer genius/programmer who's built systems, so I'm a bit worried because I don't know anything about this stuff.
Is there any way I can make sure I'm not bounced off my connection again, and that noone else gets to use my connection?

As long as you're passwords are strong, I wouldn't worry about it. There is always someone somewhere trying to gain access to a router, to get internet access or what have you.
More then likely if someone did try and access your routers, and got denied, they just moved on to the next router he could find and try to access that one.
Just make sure you're passwords are strong enough.

Fixed Access Denied and Authentication Failed errors

I had set up ARD Client on 15 workstations. One workstation would not let me connect, continually returning an "Authentication Failed" error. ARD list indicated "access denied" despite the fact I gace all privileges to an authenticated connecting user. I could, however, connect by turing on guest access upon permission.
Anyway, the solution was to force ARD to re-add the offending workstation by deleting it, quitting ARD, then re-adding the workstation once again.

I am experiencing the same poblem with just 1 machine/client onthe network.
I have removed ARD on theclient per appl service doc # 108021, reinstalled, check and recreated that machines password as admin, removed the machne form the ARD main app , shut down ARD , remopened ARD and recreated the machine and no soap. Still recognized but unavailable.
Strange because I can access the machine unproblematically via the OS directly as Go ==> Connect to server.
I have checked ports. Confirmet UDP setting and the like.
I have exhaused all my tricks...any ideas?

Getting Error Message "Access Denied" and "Unable to Execute!

Using jmf-2_1_1e-windows-i586.exe on Windows XP. When I open the executable it prompts me if I want to overwrite the existing files. If I do yes, then I get "Access Denied". If I do no, then I get "Unable to Execute!

What am I doing wrong?

Sounds like you don`t have write permissions for that directory. Not a java problem.

CcmEval Scheduled task not being created with "Access Denied" error 0x80070005 only on XP machines

That said, I'm having an issue many seem to have, but I can't find the answer. From what I understand SCCM uses the user context to create the CcmEval task, but in XP users cannot set a task to run as any other user (ie SYSTEM in this instance) so what is
the workaround? I can't just give users Administrator permissions to install the client.

The bolded section is what's telling me it's Access Denied, and manual creation of any program task set to run as SYSTEM tells me the same- users cannot do this; only admins can.
What can I do?

So after sifting through some RSOP results and GPO objects I found a policy that wasn't necessarily prohibiting creation of them. (Not where you think it would be - under
Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Task Scheduler > "Prohibit New Task Creation" -
this was set to allow them) but this one I found was a File Permissions policy that set SYSTEM permissions to READ and EXECUTE.
I've changed this to FULL CONTROL for SYSTEM. I'm unable to get on the machines to examine everything closely, but from what I can see at least one of them has remediated themselves and now has a successful client check in the console. Hopefully the rest
of them will come around as GP updates itself and the client does an evaluation to remediate the Scheduled Task.
Hopefully this helps someone in the future as well.

I am running an swf file that is loaded into an lms. To test this I am using Captivate 5...I have 2 slides...the movie goes through the 2 slides and then gets an access denied on the following:

It runs if I open this swf file up in any of the browsers. Any hints as to how to fix this? I have the appropriate files in flash player security settings.

I do have both apple sharing and the smb check marked....should I have ftp check marked? probably not....it seems the issue is in the access denied and not sure why access is denied.

I have programmed a portal application where I have used a Javascript Library (tinyMCE editor). Everything works fine in Internet explorer and Mozilla firefox when I execute it in the portal we use for development. When I execute this same development in the productive machine it works in firefox but in explorer i received a javascript error: Access Denied and the editor doesn´t show properly.
Please, I need help with this. I don´t know where to look or what to do.

i want to replace the standdard html editor in the Web Page Composer with the tinyMCE. I followed the steps explained in this [document|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/f04b5c5d-3fd2-2a10-8ab0-8fa90e3ac162]. When I launch the editor, for example by creating a new paragraph, I see the TinyMCE UI in the popup window but I can't access the functionality. A Javascript Error is also appearing : Access denied... So I tried to locate the error. I copied the source text of the popup window and created a new html file in km-content with the source code. When I am deleting the function call EPCM relaxDocumentDomain everything works fine. So I tried to implement the following code into the function relaxDocumentDomain:

Access Denied to Catalog Folders Dat Files

I don't know if these files are important to back up, but I have been doing so routinely. For the last two days, the three dat files for one of my catalogs (backupCt.dat, collstatus.dat and tagstatus.dat) have shown up as "access denied" and can't be copied. Adobe Photoshop Elements is not running, and the problem persists after a computer restart. Any suggestions as to what the problem might be and how it can be corrected? And also as to whether these three files are important to back up in case of a need to restore the program?

I'm glad to know I don't need to worry about having those files backed up (both on an external hard drive and online via Carbonite -- which no longer permits backup of files in the Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data folder). I did indeed check Task Manager, and saw that apdproxy.exe was running (the only process that seemed as if it might have any relationship to "Adobe"), but hadn't checked at that point to see what that file was. I now see that it is related to the autolaunch of the Adobe Photo Downloader. I've just deselected the Autolaunch option under Preferences, and have unchecked the corresponding item in the Startup tab of the System Configuration Utility. Since that option had been checked since the beginning of my using the program some years ago, it's hard for me to see that it would be making a difference now, but I'll see if anything changes. I haven't checked any of the other processes running (as per Task Manager) that I am not familiar with, including some that begin with the letter "a" but that don't, at first glance, seem to relate to Adobe. Anyway, thanks for your help. At least I know I can relax about the backup question.
