I can't get the short URL to work within a workflow. There is something with the combination of letters and numbers and other characters that when the link gets created, it fails.
Short URL just comes from the Portal.

I solved the problem.
It is not possible to view the ebook with IE 7.0. So I removed the new Internet Explorer and everythink is working fine.

Workflow and Portal Short URLs

Hi all,
I have created a custom link for a workflow that uses a portal short URL. if I run the URL by itself, then it works fine. When I add it to the URL link in the workflow, it doesn't show up in the workflow e-mail. Something is confusing the program and changing code so the URL doesn't get added properly. I know that it works if I use say a direct link to an iView (using the URL if you were to click the Preview button when viewing the iView in the Portal Content Directory).
Anyone have any suggestions on how to get this to work? I like the anonymity of the short URLs.

Report to transport vendors for a plant and material type

I have checked these tables but my issue is to get the list of Material numbers in the table along with a field for Class type.
So this does not happen in these tables.

Event Linkage for custom Workflow and Custom BO

Hi Friends,
I have created one Custom Module Pool, Business Object and Workflow Definition. In Business Object I have created one Business Event and the event is triggered from Custom Module Pool using function module SWE_EVENT_CREATE. I have created event linkage in transaction SWETYPV and receiver type given Workflow Template No: (WS*) and receiver function Module SWW_WI_CREATE_VIA_EVENT_IBF and checked Event Linkage Active checkbox. Finally I have activated the Triggering Event in the Workflow basic data section. But the Workflow is not getting triggered. Can anyone of you give me a solution for this or tell whether i missed any of the setting for the workflow?

Report for outstanding workflows and the agents responsible

I need a report that shows all leave request workflows , with userid who created them and approver (agent), and approver's org unit and personnel number.
is there a standard SAP report that can show that? or I need to develop one?
I was looking at the SWI2_FREQ, this report shows the leave request workflows and userid who created them, but it does not report on the agent.

I think by making use of SAP_WAPI_WORKITEMS_TO_OBJECTS you can get all the workitems who created the leave wokritems.

Hi different vendor for goods supplier and main vendor

There are two vendors one is main vendor and second vendor is goods supplier.How to use these two vendor when ordering material.
Whether we have to create two purchase orders one for the main vendor and one for the goods supplier?
What is process the process to be followed in this scenerio?
and what are teh settings required?

the question is: do you really need to mention the good supplier in your PO?
The partner role GS good supplier is used in European Trade reporting like INTRASTAT, because there you have to report the goods movement, dispatch and arrival country. The dispatch country is then determined based on GS partner and not from VN partner.
if vendor is different from good supplier, then you need an extra vendor master for the good supplier, then you need to allow this GS role in your partner schema.
Then you need to maintain the GS partner in the vendor master partner view of your main vendor.
From there is will default to your POs .

Is it possible to procure goods and services (eg, freight services) from the same vendor?
If possible, are there any settings to be done in the vendor master or in the POs?

Hi,
You can procure material and service (Fright) charges from same vendor.
At the time of purchase order creation you can assign condition type for fright charges at item detail level >> Condition tab of purchase order.
After enter material detail go in condition tab and select condition type for fright charges.

Building a PC for faster rendering and real time workflow

Hi guys - need help if possible since I'm not into hardware all that much...
I have a few problems when using Premiere Pro CS6 which resulted in thinking of buying a new computer:
1) Exporting a one hour full HD video takes about 23 hours (no effects except color correction)
2) When making a color correction it is impossible to preview it on timeline even in 1/4 resolution - video starts to jitter so I have to export it to realize that some scenes are too dark, too light, too something, etc. And, as said, it takes around 23 hours... So this makes it 46 hours...
3) Using a multicam view is extremely jerky and so - pretty useless
All in all - I need a computer with a lot more muscle. So, I went through many forum discussions, read on the Internet, blah, blah.. and decided to build a PC rather than MAC since I get more "bang for the buck" when considering the same budget (around 3000$). Speaking of this, please consider that I live in Croatia and 3K$ here are not the same as in USA or many parts of Europe - it's a little more pricey here...
So, here's the setup so review it if you're into hardware and CS6 compatibility/optimization and please comment/advise, having in mind the problems I have previously stated out.
Just one thing - please, please, please don't get too complicated because I really don't know that much about hardwareing and I'm pretty fed up with exploring hundreds and hundreds of posts, opinions, forums, etc....
Make it simple - is it a good choice or not for CS6 workflow and which component should I potentially change for a better one (but staying in budget).
I use Premiere for editing full HD videos (sometimes I get nearly 500GB of raw material) and I frequently use After Effects for various animations.

i tired to login portal user with ias_Admin password but there is no gain
and also how to find the INTEGRATED EBS SUITE with Application server in application console.

Allow PDF for one user and expire after 1 year?

My company produces ~300 page medical reports that we deliver in PDF form. We feel we are losing money because some companys purchase one report under a single license (instead of a corporate/multiuser license) to save money and share it with their entire company anyway.
Is it possible to have both of these features:
1) Have a PDF be locked to whatever computer opens the file for the first time, so it can not be opened from another computer?
2) Have the PDF expire after one year so it can not be opened?
I currently own Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional and Adobe Acrobat 9 Professional. If there is additonal software/addons that can be purchased to acheive both these features I will pay for it. Please advise!

What you're asking for goes beyond what a document-based feature can deliver. Items like audit trails, document expiration, etc. usually require a server in the workflow. LiveCycle provides those features.
As far as document locking goes, in order to lock it you need to provide the end user with a key. You still need to end up trusting the end user with that key whether it's a certificate (for sig workflows), passwords (for encryption workflows), and so on.
I'm not up to date on what Adobe is offering in the Cloud, but perhaps there's a way to store the doc online behind a password and with no download capability but with a set expiration date. Still, if your clients are not trustworthy, then . . .

Workflow and General Use Questions

Hello,
I'll apologize right off the bat for these novice question because I'm sure the information is probably somewhere in the forum, I just haven't been able to find it. I just purchased Aperture after completing the demo as my library is getting too large to manage using standard file folders. I'm now trying to figure out the best practices for workflow and general use before I invest some serious time into importing and keywording all my pictures.
1) Store files in the there current location, or in the Aperture Library? It seems to me that once they are moved to the Aperture library, you can only access them from within Aperture. I'm thinking I would be better off leaving them in their current location. For one, if I want to quickly grab a picture as an attachment to an email or something it seems easier to grab it from the standard folders. Second (and more important) I do not have room to keep all my pictures on my Macbook, thus most of them are stored on the Time Capsule.
So... Keeping photos in their current location appears to be the best choice for me even though it adds an additional step every time I bring in new photos from my camera. Does this sound right?
2) Is there a way to mark the photos that I have uploaded to my website (Smugmug)? Ideally, I would like to badge photos that have already been uploaded so I can quickly recognize them and ensure I'm not duplicating. I've considered using the rating, or keywords to indicate that a photo has been uploaded but both methods have disadvantages.
3) Any suggestions for general workflow and organization resources (tutorials, books, websites, etc.)? I've looked at the videos on Apple's site but they obviously didn't get that detailed.

I recommend to Manage by Reference with Master image files stored on external hard drives (note that Aperture defaults to a Managed-Library configuration rather than a Referenced-Masters Library). Especially important for iMacs and laptops with a single internal drive. The workflow as described below in an earlier post of mine uses a Referenced-Masters Library.
I feel pretty strongly that card-to-Aperture or camera-to-Aperture handling of original images puts originals at unnecessary risk. I suggest this workflow, first using the Finder (not Aperture) to copy images from CF card to computer hard drive:
• Remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into a memory card reader. Faster readers and faster cards are preferable.
• Finder-copy images from memory card to a labeled folder on the intended permanent Masters location hard drive.
• Eject memory card.
• Burn backup hard drive or DVD copies of the original images (optional strongly recommended recommended backup step).
• Eject backup hard drive(s) or DVDs.
• From within Aperture, import images from the hard drive folder into Aperture selecting "Store files in their current location." This is called "referenced images." During import is the best time to also add keywords, but that is another discussion.
• Review pix for completeness (e.g. a 500-pic shoot has 500 valid images showing in Aperture).
• Reformat memory card in camera, and archive originals off site on hard drives and/or on DVDs.
Note that the "eject" steps above are important in order to avoid mistakenly working on removable media/backups.
Also note with a Referenced-Masters Library that use of the "Vault" backup routine backs up the Library only, not the Masters. Masters should be separately backed up, IMO a good thing from a workflow and data security standpoint.
Max out RAM in your MB and keep the internal drive less than 70% full.

Please guide me for user authentication and authorization in WebDynPro App

I just study the WebDynPro to develop the SAP Portal. I've ever developed the Web-based App using J2EE. So when i developed the Web-based App i have to develop the control of the user authentication and authorization on each page for example ,checking the session of the user whether they can access this page or whether session is expired or not,. So i have no idea with the WebDynPro and the SAP Portal because i never had experience for both WebDynPro and Portal.
I need to ask you some question to clarify my doubt :
1. SAP Portal is web page that include every enterprise application with in one page and user log-in to them just on time, isn't it?
2. If i integrate WebDynPro with SAP Portal, which one will do the authentication and authorization?. I mean that, Do i have to develop the code to check authentication and authorization in the WebDynPro App or Let the SAP Portal manage them?
3.Could you please suggest the best practice for authentication and authorization in webDynPro.

in most case you don't have to write code to deal with session, authentication and authorization.

2. no, no code needed. you just set an attribute to your application, which make the the authentication required. when user access this page, portal will display the logon page
3 you can put some authorization related code in web dynpro for specific requirement, search this doc "Protecting Access to the Web Dynpro Car Rental Application Using UME Permissions"
