Verify Age in eCommerce

If I am selling a product that has age restrictions (For instance Wine, one must be 21+ to buy.) I have the shipper check the age upon delivery but is there a way to do this before the product is ever shipped.
I have seen this done using Credit Card Data but is this possible on BC?

Thanks for the information. I have done a bit of research and from what I have found there is no real solution. Most banks do not provide personal data to verify age using Credit Card data and JS solutions can be easily fooled.
I did read about one solution where you have them verify their social and name and then asked a series of questions to verify they are who they say they are but that is a lot of work for the user and many would go buy else where without that requirement.

Couple things to try:
check restrictions settings>General>restrictions. Make sure installing apps is not restricted, also verify age restrictions are not set below what the app shows
reset iPad: hold home and power buttons down simultaneously for 15-20 seconds until the apple logo appears, try updating again.
if still fails, you could try restarting your router but that is a long shot.

Itunes asking security and billing info

In NZ, on wifi, using a UK iTunes account. iTunes asking me all kinds of security and billing info n it's never done that before - usually just pwd. Is this normal and, more importantly, is it safe?? I'm definitely receiving the messages thru iTunes so should be ok i guess

So I buy an ITUNES $25 music card but I am still charged on my credit card?

Why am I still charged on my credit card when I buy a redeemable $25 card?
I would think the music card would be used before the credit card.
This is not right and needs to be changed or I will cancel my account with ITUNES and will cancel my IPHONE subscription.
Since there are prepay itunes card I find it a rip off that a credit card was used and in the sign up it says the credit card is only used to verify AGE ONLY.
So by going behind my back and putting purcahses using the credit card is not very honest when in fact I used a $25 itunes card.
APPLE FIX THIS FLAW ASAP!!!!!!! If you can't fix this then you will be hearing from lawyers.

1) Your post is very insulting. You could have told me that deleting your credit card did not work. You did not have to insult me.
2) Unless apple changed their requirements, you can Zero out your credit card information - after it has cleared your account and been removed. However I don not work for Apple and if they changed that requirement they would not have told that to me.
3) I have given you a perfectly working alternative that does work. If you refuse to believe me, that is your issue. I don't have to take your insults and you have no right to insult me.

10.5.6 verifying with DiskUtility can take ages

I recently upgraded a Powerbook G4 to 10.5.6 with a MacBoxSet. Although 10.5 is a bit bigger than 10.4, DiskUtility can often take ages to check permissions. Just the first step, reading the permissions database can easily take over 15 minutes. And I check on a regular basis. Another machine (G5 DP) I also upgraded is usualy a lot faster. How come? And is there something I can do about it?

no. this is normal. permissions repair in leopard takes longer.
Two things.
1. verifying permissions is a waste of time. it does nothing. repair permissions directly.
2. repairing permissions is not something you need to do often that would also be waste of time. once before system updates is more than enough.

As it should have been transferred to your computer when you synced, you can contact itunes support and ask for an exception.

Verify/Repair takes ages & Errors

Hi. When i verify and repair my permissions not only does it take about 5-10mins, when it should take am min or so, it also produces a long long list of unfixable errors which say:
ACL found but not expected on "System/Library/User Template/English.Iproj/Sites"
This happens with almost every folder on my drive somehow. I dont know what this means and how to fix it.
When i try and repair permission on my girlfriends computer (Intel, mine is not), it does the same thing. I dont know what this all means..
Can anyone offer any advice for a newbie to Leopard?

First, repairing permissions in Leopard does take much longer. This is not a sign of anything wrong. Leopard no longer uses the older system of managing users and groups but now uses a system of what are called Access Control Lists (ACLs.) Because of this checking permissions prior to repair takes a considerably longer period of time.
Second, the messages you see are not error messages but simply information. Upgrading to 10.5.2 should result in fewer of those messages appearing. There's nothing wrong.

My sister and I have been having problems with our ipods. We both have the touch and because our dad bought both our ipods and our ipods were under the same name it was starting to sync eachothers music to each ipod instead of seperate. we also wanted to use 2 different credit cards. so we thought the best solution would be to just create her, her own account. Everything went smoothly and i realized there was an option to not add a credit card, being that shes under aged and only buys with gift cards anyway. Now im struggling because i entered her gift cards into her acount and every time she goes to buy a song it says confirm or varify billing information. I have tried re entering her account info, i tried adding a credit card, ive tried several things and it is not allowing me to varify the account and will tell me that my requist is unavailable at this time....
does anyone know how to fix this problem soo she can buy songs

what version of itunes are you using for the restore, Fronzie? to check, in itunes go "help > about itunes" and wait for the version number to scroll up from the bottom of the screen.
if you've got an itunes 7.0.0.70 or 7.0.1.8, try upgrading to 7.0.2.16. does the restore go through any better using a 7.0.2.16?

I have experienced a similar error with the iPhone 4S. The new version of iTunes will not let me restore the phone, it must be updated and nothing appears to be happening. Suffice it to say I am not amused. Apple needs to work this out - I had trouble updating to 8.0.2 as well.

Service Request Aging Analysis

Hello All,
I am trying to create a report in Siebel off the canned aging report. It seems to give me the average age in calendar days which is fine, however I need to report on number of business days.
The data I need specifically is:
Service Request's (SR's) Average Age - This is default
Average age of open SR's business days - This is the tough one, I need to have > 5 business days and < 5 Buisness days
Average age if not closed on the first contact - Buisness and Calender days
SR's open greater then 5 days - Buisness and Calender days
If anyone has any advice if this is possible or how to go about having Siebel create the report for me, that would be great.

I have verified that both formulas are error free when used in the correct subject area... the column that you start with does not matter... just be sure to completely blank the existing formula before pasting in this one.

Hi, i have recently purchased an i-phone 4s and had been merrily playing away and set up an i cloud account. However when i tried to access i cloud from my pc i couldn't verify it. I had to change my apple id because i no longer had access to my old e-mail. I managed to sort out my i-phone and change all the accounts to my new apple i.d (except game centre? don't know how to do that yet.) but when i signed out of my old i-cloud account on my pc and tried to sign in with my new apple id it just tries to connect (i get the i'm thinking about it wheel) for ages; not allowing me to log on.

Content (apps, music, ibooks, films etc) is tied to the account that originally downloaded it, so if the iBooks app was downloaded using the account that you used to share with your ex then only that account can download updates to it. As it's a free app you could delete it and re-download it under your own account - and then re-download your ibooks into it (or copy the books to your computer's iTunes first via File > Transfer Purchases and then sync them back to the app).
