Verisign Class 3 Certificate Mobile Me?

I was online chatting with Mobile Me and noticed the certificate from Mobile Me was not Apple.  It was a Verisign Class III cerificate but stated it was Valid however the company it stated I recognized previously as CO.... and was a "private organization".  I have had problems with Mobile Me and also noticed that I am unable to verify my account via gmail.
When I go to verify it states that the account is associated with another account. Also, how do I access Mobile Me iDisk. Lasly, I am concerned about compromise because Facebook Security Notified me that a device was logging into my account from a location in another state which is not mine.
Thanks

That is an intermediate certificate and should be send by web servers who are using a certificate that have a VeriSign Class 3 Secure Server CA-G2 certificate issuer.

If the server isn't sending the certificate and you haven't visited a website that sends it then you need to install it yourself.<br />

Verisign announced a new CA certificate in October 2010, Verisign Class 3 Secure Server G3. When will this be included in the CA list of the browser? It is in other browsers already (IE, Safari, etc), yet in Firefox you're currently prompted with a security warning for a trusted CA.

  • Was "VeriSign Class 3 International Server CA - G3" certificate authority removed from FF 3.6.12?

We have a site that has a SSL certificate with this authority and now we are seeing "Untrusted connection". This was working fine with older versions of FireFox.

It is the responsibility of websites to send all required intermediate certificates. If websites do not send them and Firefox hasn't stored them from a past visit to other websites that send them then you get then not trusted error message. Firefox is a multi platform application and every platform would require a different approach for each supported feature. That would require a lot of extra code that the devs want to avoid, even if APIs for such an enhancement (don't know about this one).
You can also check certificates via other test sites.

  • Verisgin Intermediate CA class 3 certificate problem

On Iplanet messaging server 5.2, I did install the Verisign Intermediate CA class 3 to have update certificate expires on 2011. But I am evaluating the migration to SUN JAVA messaging server 6.0. I did migrate the SSL certificates as well but IE showing the certificate is invalid because intermediate CA is not updated. I tried to upload the new intermediate certificate as its is available at verisign site. I am still getting the invalid certificate message. Might be I am not upload the certificate properly because the name its saying certificate name is invalid at messaging server console under manage certificate. Any body has idea how to load the Verisign Intermediate class3 CA on Sun Java System messaging server 6.0.

Nothing is in logs because on IE at https access security alter is popping up saying The security certificate has been expired or not yet valid. Our server SSL ID is valid and that was problem on IMS 5.2 as well and I did updated the intermediate CA and it start working fine.
Password is correct and I am following the instruction form verisign to update the intermediate certificate. According to there instruction this certificate should be installed as server certificate chain and I cant see this option at Sun Java messaging server 6.0.

This certificare will expire in dec/19/2006.

VeriSign Class 3 Public Primary CA
    - Verisign Class 3 Secure Server CA
    -server.dom.com
In SGD version 4.3 have the reference list in URL http://docs.sun.com/source/819-6255/what_certs.html, but I dont find any similar reference in SGD 4.20.983 verion
My question is about SGD 4.20.983 will be direct recognized by access in browser mode and by native client mode?

  • How can I get an up to date Verisign certificate??

For an app I need the Verisign certificate. I downloaded one from a link provided in this forum but once installed I see it valid until "15-07-2009" -- no good for me, I'm in August.
Trawling the Verisign site didn't help ease the frustration.
    Any pointers?
It's a VeriSign Class 3 Code Signing Certificate. I've already updated the Nokia firmware to the latest version.

I can't seem to find any other place to put this but here.
I have the same exact issue as the person who started this thread.
I have a valid VeriSign Class 3 code signing certificate and when trying to do a OTA for a E63 phone the message shows "certificate not recognizable".
    VeriSign blames Nokia.
What can I do for this?

  • Importing your new verisign/thawte certificate

When you get your certificate from one of these companies, when using the keytool -import option, must you chose the 'trustcacerts' option?? When i have been importing the cerificate i get the error its not trusted......

Question about the certificate you are importing... Did you generate a key, export a request, submit it to Verisign and are now importing the response. Or are you trying to import another type of Certificate from Verisign like an HHTPS SSL Cert for a web site?
When you import a certificate (not a signing response) from verisign in general it should look like:
    Owner: C=.....
    Issuer: CN=Verisign....
    Serial number: 3294872342984...
Valid from: Tue Sep 25 20:00:00 EDT 2001 until: Thu Sep 26 19:59:59 EDT 2002
    Certificate fingerprints:
    MD5: D4:3D....
    SHA1: D3:4E:F1....
    Trust this certificate? [no]:
When you import an un-verified cert is should look like:
    Owner: CN=x, OU=x, O=x, L=x, ST=x, C=x
    Issuer: CN=x, OU=x, O=x, L=x, ST=x, C=x
    Serial number: 3bd99f85
Valid from: Fri Oct 26 13:38:13 EDT 2001 until: Thu Jan 24 12:38:13 EST 2002
    Certificate fingerprints:
    MD5: A8:D4:94:A3:23:2C:D5:CA:9D:AA:F0:66:50:43:EB:33
    SHA1: D2:E0:DA:4D:DA:8F:EC:1B:CA:B3:5C:C0:B0:F4:F2:DC:44:3A:0F:A1
    Trust this certificate? [no]:
When you import a response it will look like this:
    Top-level certificate in reply:
    Owner: CN=VeriSign Class 3 CA - Commercial Content/Software Publisher, OU="www.verisign.com/repository/RPA Incorp. by Ref.,LIAB.LTD(c)98", OU=VeriSign Trust Network, O="VeriSign, Inc."
Issuer: OU=Class 3 Public Primary Certification uthority, O="VeriSign, Inc.", C=US

Valid from: Wed Dec 30 19:00:00 EST 1998 until: Wed Dec 31 18:59:59 EST 2008
    Certificate fingerprints:

    Does anybody know,
what that means for ssl ?
Is there a Patch or a new cacerts file for download ?
    Thanks a lot.
    Ede

I would assume that there are not that many certificates still
being used that use those CA certs for their CA.
As you probably noticed, there are a bunch of newer Verisign
CA certs in that trust store (cacerts). The newer CA certs are
probably the ones being used by certificates that are currently
    in use.
I suppose you have to ship the older CA certs until they become
invalid. I doubt that Verisign issued any certificates with those
    old CA anytime recently.

  • Verisign Certificate Renewal - Help!!!

    Hi Guys,
I am a beginner in Adobe Flex.
The digital certificate from verisign got expired which I used in my flex builder 3, packaging it while exporting an AIR application.
My organisation renewed it and gave me a certificate .p12 file stating that it is a renewed one.
I used that renewed file in place of the old .p12 file in the application package and exported it to an AIR application.
But, I was not able to install that application anymore as it results in "The installation of this application is damaged. Try re-installing the application or contact the publisher for assistance." error.
Later, I double clicked that .p12 file and registered it with trusted enterprise certificates. Now the application installed fine. But it did not work in another PC. Later It worked when I did the same process in that PC also(i.e. I double clicked that .p12 file and registered it with trusted enterprise certificates in that PC).
In that process I found that the previous certificate was "VeriSign Class 3 Code Signing 2009-2 CA" and the renewed one is "VeriSign Class 3 Code Signing 2010 G5". Is this the reason???
Or am I doing something wrong while exporting the release build???? Somebody please help me ASAP.
FYI -  I am using this verion SDK "<application xmlns="http://ns.adobe.com/air/application/1.5">" in my app.xml file.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Raj

What do you mean by "Call" a certificate? A certificate is not "called". It is a container for an asymmetric cryptographic key. What you normally do with the certificate is "extract" the key so that you can use it
for a cryptographic operation. In .Net, you typically use the classes in System.Security.Cryptography to do this. See example here:

  • VeriSign Certificate  OR Unified Testing Initiative (UTI) root Certificate?

    Hello everybody!
I've signed my J2ME application with a Verisign Class 3 Public Primary CA but it seems that wasn't a good deal!
Indeed, once signed, this application no longer is supported by my Samsung SGH-D840 even if on a Nokia6300 all still run well.
The difference between these 2 handsets regarding the signing aspects is that the SGH-D840 is not JSR-177 SATSA compatible whereas the Nokia6300 is.
A friend told me that the Unified Testing Initiative (UTI) root certificate is available on more handsets than the VeriSign certificate. He seems be right because all the handsets marked with a (+) in the list at [http://www.javaverified.com/docs/Table_of_Supported_Devices_1.20.pdf|http://www.javaverified.com/docs/Table_of_Supported_Devices_1.20.pdf] support the UTI Certificate.
    My questions:
    1) Has anyone ever used the UTI certificate to sign a J2ME application? If yes, could the person tell me if he recommend it instead of VeriSign Certificate?
    2) Could you confirm if UTI certificate is supported by many more handsets (regardless to the manufacturer) in relationship with VeriSign Certificate?
    Thanks you in advance,
    arkienou

    Finally solved it
Followed the instructions of note 694290 to import the certificate chain
Essentially, I needed to export the already existing private key to a .p8 file named exactly after the already existing private key entry. Then, I delete the private key entry and  hit Load, put the .p8 file I just exported and then import my certificate file (CSR response), the intermediate CA certificate and the root CA certificate
    Regards
    Andreas
