Verizon messaging, moto-g and group texts.

I just got a moto-g. I transferred all my contacts, including group contacts. I downloaded verizon messages to be able to send group texts. I cannot figure out how to send group texts and the verizon messages video is no help. How do I do this?

According to the information online, downloading Verizon messaging would enable me to send group texts by using a group contact list, rather than individually entering each name/number. I did so and as stated above I cannot group text. I have been through ALL of the settings and advanced settings in Verizon messaging and there is NO setting that relates to turning on or off group messaging. Here is additional information. My group contacts show up in contacts, but I cannot send a message, the dropdown only says delete. My phone is a moto-g. Please let me know if the group text function is not available on the moto g. I will need to send the phone back if I cannot send group texts.

I moved from a basic phone to a smartphone. I used to be able to receive group text messages and MMS messages without having to use data or be connected via wifi. Why is it I have to use data or be connected to a wifi sourceto receive those messages now?

The antennae or radios in the Prime are configured differently than most flagship type smartphones and even different still from basic phones. It comes down to difference of hardware.

My pictures and group texts won't send 80% of the time.

My Iphone 5 has lots of troubles texting photos and sending group texts. I have AT&T and have no idea why this is. My photos usually only send when it's to another iphone and it still has lots of issues sometimes.

I am having the same problem. I have an ipod touch that worked fine up until the 4.0 firmware. The only thing I have noticed with mine that it was glitchy when it came to sending mail (which I use yahoo). Then most recently it stopped sending altogether. My isp is verizon & I have an airport extreme. I noticed today I can bounce off of a neighbors linksys wifi. Now I have no clue who their isp is. It's either verizon or comcast. Regardless I was able to send mail using their internet. Mine on the other hand is a no go.
I too am *extremely frustrated*. I have deleted my mail accts several times in hopes of it fixing the problem. I also updated to the latest firmware of 4.1 in hopes of it resolving the issue. I even tried using other smtp servers with no luck.
I hope someone out here has a solution to this problem. It is very frustrating.

Stratosphere- Problem with Screen Capture and Group Text Reply

I have a problem with the side button that locks/unlocks the phone. I don't know why it happens but sometimes when I press the side button to lock the phone it takes a screen shot and send its to my Gallery under the folder ScreenCapture. I can't figure out why it does this sometimes, and when i want to actually take a screen shot I cant.
Anyone know how exactly you can take a screen shot?
Another question i have is with Group Texts. Is there a way to reply all when I receive a text that was sent to multiple people or can I only reply to the sender?

Hello kfeatherstone! I can provide you with instructions for taking a screenshot:
1. Press both the Power and Home buttons briefly.
2. You should hear a “click” sound and the screen will say “Screen captured. Saved as image file
In regards to your messaging, "reply to all" is not an available option. I hope this information helps!

6600 fold and group text transmission

I have been unable to send the same text to groups ..and must seperatley send to each recipient..Groups have been set up in the usual way . Worked on a previous model but not 6600 fold or 51401
Any thoughts anyone.?

change the gmt time to plus one and for future ref always change the gmt and not the clock you will find gmt in time and date settings ,

why is verizon messages+ sending duplicate and blank texts?

Which form of the app does this - the phone app, the desktop app, or the web app? Or all three??
What phone do you have? And if it's a smartphone, have ypu set the Messages + app to be the default texting app, and disabled the other text apps?

Using Verizon Messages Plus App, now Sprint users are receiving blank group texts

Recently downloaded the Verizon Messages Plus App, and now my family with Sprint are receiving blank group texts. I've tried various troubleshooting and can't find a solution. Any help???

Messages: replacing &V1& and &V2& in long text

Hello,
I have defined a message with short and long text.
In the short text, I use &1 and &2, in the long text I use &V1& and &V2& as described in the ABAP help.
I call the message like this:
MESSAGE w050(zmessclass) WITH i_mess1 i_mess2
I get replaced &1 and &2 in the short text but no replacement of &V1& and &V2&. How is it working in long text?

Hi,
Instead of typing the &V1& and &V2& directly into the long text editor yourself, choose the "Insert Command" function (Ctrl-F9) instead. In the popup for this function you will see several types of commands. Within the "Symbols" section type in &V1& and press enter. Repeat this for &V2&.
You will now see that &V1& and &V2& are highlighted (gray). Activate your text and try again. Your long text should now show the variables in place of &V1& and &V2&.

Verizon messaging contacts not showing up?

I've read several posts about this and it appears that there's not a lot I can do to resolve my problem. I really like Verizon Messages, either the web app or the PC app. It makes Txt messaging so much easier which is the main reason I want to use it. My problem is that I only have phone numbers and no contact names, like are on my phone. There are obviously different contact lists on the phone, one that is native to the phone and in my case, one that is from Exchange. I keep all my contacts on Exchange so that I can access them from any device. It only makes sense. The problem as I see it is that Verizon Messages uses your Verizon contact list and I have nothing in there. Could I import my Exchange contacts to the Verizon contact list, probably but then I assume I will have duplicates for every entry which would be unacceptable. The only other option I can see if to somehow export my contact list and then import it in to Verizon Messages. I'm still not clear if that would then create multiple entries. If it won't then I am open to doing it but I'm not sure how as of yet. If I figure that out how to do that then that should solve my immediate problem with the one exception of every new contact I enter will not automatically show up. I will still have to manually add the name to Verizon Messages or upload my list again. In contrast, MYSMS pulls all your contacts and pictures in automatically, even though that are exchange contacts. Clearly this is something Verizon chooses to do, it's not a limitation. The problem with MYSMS is that it doesn't deal with group messages very well which is why I decided to try Verizon Messages.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

You'd have to export all your contacts from the phone and then import them into your Verizon Backup online with either cloud sync or by taking the export file of contacts, moving to computer, then uploading it as an import file on PC site. I have long used an app, free, called MightyText that takes all contacts in the phone and allows MMS SMS and group texting from the PC and links with phone so that I can type on the PC keyboard and use the phone to send and receive with. It also backs up messages as well, has a Chrome extension and a dedicated website all its own.

How do I get contact names to appear in the Verizon Messages browser version?

I just got the S5 and was giving the Verizon Messages app a shot since Mighty Text is acting a little wonky with Kit Kat and won't sync outgoing browser texts with the phone. With the VZW Messages app sending and receiving texts from my phone and browser works fine but I wanted the contact names to show up in the browser window. I figured Verizon was pulling the data from the cloud storage and not directly from the phone so I synced my contacts with vzw cloud but it only synced 35 out of my 350 contacts. They all originated from Google Contacts and seamlessly imported to my new phone from my old one.
Any ideas?

Having the ability to access your contacts via Verizon Messages is very important JoeVoorhees. I am happy to inform you that with Verizon Messages, you do have the ability to import your contacts. To do this, simply sign into your Verizon Messages online>on the upper right hand side>click on menu>manage contacts>import contacts>on the top right hand side of the page you will see a picture of your phone and sync. Click on sync.

Messages getting reordered in the Verizon Messaging app

My text messages are getting reordered within the Verizon Messages app. For example, I'll send a text message, and someone will reply, which will display correctly. Then when I send another text, the other person's reply will get moved above my original text. It seems to happen if the texts occur within the same minute.

Jayohdee, Did deleting the old conversations work for you? This just started happening to me in Verizon Messaging as well, and I noticed that the date of my sent messages AND received messages was off, like yday was the 25th of Dec. My messages back to everyone says 12/12/2014... instead of 13/25/2014... I checked my phone's clock and date and it is all correct, but what you explained above is still happening to my messages.

Can't get the updated Verizon Messages app to work on wifi as the update claims it will

I received the update to the Verizon Messages app yesterday and when I opened it, it said the smartphone will now send and receive text messages over wifi when the cellular network is not available. I have been unable to make this work and I contacted Verizon and the tech said that obviously it will not work on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, but it said it will work on my device when I look at the app store. Any ideas?

Yesterday morning, the icon appeared telling me that Message+ was connected to WIFI, however, all day today, I would have it show that I had messages, I would look on my pulldown and it would show that I had messages, but when I went to the app, the messages had disappeared. The same thing has been happening with my email. The native email app would not pull down my mail folders, so I had to load a 3rd party app the does pull them down, but then it loses emails. This is the 2nd Note 3 I have had. My original started giving me a black screen when I tried to answer a call and I would have to reboot the phone and call them back. Now this replacement loses email and messages. In my business, these are very important. Not sure what I am going to do, not happy with my choice of phones at this point. Thank you for offering to look into the problems for me, I appreciate it.

Group texting issues

My IPhone friends have all checked the appropriate SMS boxes in IMessage but I still dont see the replies to group messages. What can I do to fix this??

Help has arrived! When did this issue begin? Have the iPhone users attempted to disable the iMessage feature and test again? Are they still able to receive your responses to them? Are they receiving any error messages when sending a group text?

Cannot send or receive group text if someone is not on an apple phone

Does anyone else have this problem or have a solution to this issue? Has been like this since I got the phone and Apple says it is Verizon AND Verizon says it is Apple! I cannot send or receive a group text! Help!

i have the same issue with AT&T. My phone receives picture and group texts just fine, but responding to group texts fails.
Disabling MMS allows you to send texts to multiple people at the same time but doesn't set up the group chat environment so that responses can be automatically sent to everyone as well. you end up receiving text responses from each recipient in a separate thread.
AT&T has also stated that it is an iPhone issue, but I have yet to ask apple what they think the problem is. Since the issue sounds identical to KKONO's, I'd assume the response would be that I should speak with AT&T about it. :\
It doesn't really make sense that the carrier would be the one at fault since if MMS were really dysfunctional it would have much more widespread affects than just disabling group chat response. Send/Receive picture text and receive group chat should also be disabled. Since the problem is isolated only to responding to group chat, I'd think it's more likely an issue with apple iOS.
Any thoughts?

Verizon messages app doesn't work over wifi....

Hello, all,
Until recently, I used the verizon messages app to send/receive texts over wifi on my gs3 when I had no cellular/data reception. Now it will only send/rec when there's cell reception.
But...the app does still work over wifi onmy galaxy tab 2 7.0.
Why could this be? Did a recent app update break txt over wifi for the gs3?

This does NOT work on the Galaxy S3.
Airplane mode ON, Wifi ON, No network mode is available in Airplane mode. So...only wifi is available. When I try to send a text with only wifi available I get "Network not available. The message will be sent when the network is available"
BUT...On my Galaxy Tab 2 (non-verizon), This DOES work. On the tab 2 with only wifi available, I CAN send text messages using Verizon Messages.
So....again...
On Galaxy Tab 2 with only WiFi available...texting with Verizon messages DOES work.
On Galaxy S3 with only WiFi available...texting with Verizon messages DOES NOT work.
Please fix Verizon Messages to work over WiFi using Galaxy S3.
