  • Slides have very low fps and laggy input for first few slides.

We are creating a project in captivate that is 50 slides long. The first 4 or so slides are very laggy and are very slow to respond. They have flash animations and they do not play at the full 24fps. After awhile (usually by the 6th or 7th slide, the lag stops and the animations start playing at 24fps, although they often pause in the middle of the animation). The first few slides do not lag if you manually jump to the first slide once the project has got up to full speed.
We are using flash animations, custom widgets that are modified versions of the "Flash Button" widget that comes with captivate, and text to speech audio on almost every slide. We are running the project locally, from the hard drive. The problem seems to happen only when there are button widgets (custom or the default Button.swf) on any slide. It goes away once they widgets are removed. The problem seems to still exist, but load faster when there are less slides in the project. I'm wondering if it has something to do with loading the button widgets, as it eventually goes away, like they are done being cached or something.

    Hi
Can you tell me which version of CAPTIVATE and OS you are using? and provide me the screenshots of SWF SIZE AND QUALITY under PROJECTS in PREFERENCES

  • AntiAliasingEnabled - very low FPS

    I have a problem with sprite("world3D").antiAliasingEnabled = true (AAE = true)
I have only 1 box and 20 spheres in this world.
Is it possible that when AAE = false my FPS is about 200 and with AAE = true FPS is about 35 ?
AAE really slows performance so much ?
Or is there any other way/method to have 3D models anti-aliased faster?

    Dear necromanthus
    Thank You for your reply.
Good new for me is "AntiAliasing enabled is a frame rate killer in any 3D application"
I didn't know about monitor limitations too.
But still my "200 fps" isn't about how much my eye can see but how much my processor can do without Anti-aliasing.
So... I'm still at the same point.
How to get Anti-aliased (or pseudo-AA) models in any faster way?
Im using D11 and graphic card is not important because I want to have this effect on any computer.
    Any Ideas please ?

  • MSI HD 7950 very low fps and scores

Hi I just bought a new pc and theres something wrong with my msi hd 7950, I've tried crysis 3 in every settings available and it's extremely slow, also tried 3dmark and got a score of 3000 +/- and fps of 10 and 20... Already tried msi drivers and amd drivers, and it's the same...Everything is new can anyone help me?
    my specs are
    ASROCK z87 Extreme6

    MSI AMD HD 7950 3GB
    Thanks in advance

Try removing current driver in safemode using >>Driver Fusion<<. After reboot install latest AMD one. If still no help use >>MSI Afterburner<< to check with OSD monitoring if it runs at expected clockrates and temps under load.
    Also please list psu details.

  • Getting low FPS on MacBook Pro Retina 15" (2012) even after resetting SMC

I am getting very low FPS on Guild Wars 2 (between 25 and 40) and on Dibalo averaging at about (30 FPS) when playing on 1440 Resolution and Medium Settings. I've seen videos online with much better FPS using the same configuration as my Mac.
I've reset the SMC, PRAM and made sure that the nVidia card is running using gfxCardStatus
Anyone knows if this could be a faulty GPU Card?

I would make sure it's not running the game in the screens native res as that would be soo high even a gaming laptop would struggle

  • DOTA2 low fps during hero picking phase

Usually I have ~50FPS rate, but when I picking hero in PvP game (with bots it works great), my FPS downs to 9-10 and sound is cracking.
Before I played well, in common I use proprietary driver, but some days ago, when I reinstall system with encryption, I also tried non-proprietary driver, which was bad idea for my NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GSO (too many artifacts and very low FPS).
So I deleted "free" driver and installed proprietary driver. Mb I forget to delete some free-driver packages, or forget to install some non-free driver componets, mb some libraries (provided by Steam) are conflicting with system`s librararies. Anyway I dont know what to do, my attempts to find a solution in Internet led me here.
I`ll be very greatful if you help me! But you must know that I`m not a Linux-guru, so write me all commands I need.

First of all, whether you have  1GB/512mb/256mb of vga memory doesnt mean much in terms of performance, it all depends on your specific gpu unit whether its a 5650M, 6570M, etc. In your case your gpu does seem to be able to run most older games okay. Measuring fps in lobbies doesnt mean much either since there's hardly anything there for your gpu to render. You say you begin with 60fps and then drop to about 20fps midgame, presumably when the action is getting most hot. You could perhaps try lowering your graphical settings a bit or maybe your resolution. Alternatively the problem may also lie with your internet connection.

  • Macbook Pro Retina mid 2012 low fps in bootcamp

    Hello,
My English is not so good, so sorry if it's not correct, but I hope anyone could help me.
I have a Macbook Pro Retina mid 2012, 2,3 GHz Intel Core i7, 8 GB ram, 250 GB SSD.
My problem is when I go to bootcamp for gaming I get realy low fps. The most games start at 30 fps, but then they drop immediately to 8/9 fps and a second later back to 30 fps.
It's like a car, when you drive to hard you have to slow down, but then you drive to slow so you need to go faster. He speed up and a second or 2 later he kicks on the brakes and a moment later he speed up again and kicks again on the brakes.
Even with al the game setting on realy low and the lowest resolution. And that al the time in every game. My bootcamp is Windows 8 but in Windows 7 did I have the same problem. I did already a SMC reset and Pram reset and 5 clean installs. But nothing works. I installed al the updates in OS X en in Windows. There al alrealy some forums about this problem, but by them was a SMC reset enough. Maybe something is wrong with my Nvidia grapihc card. The problems starts everytime when the Nvidia card need to do this work.
it's quite an annoying problem, it's not a cheap laptop, but my old laptop ( 2 years old ) are the gaming performs better compared to this one. I think the problems start after this SMC update http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1559?viewlocale=en_US but I'm not quite sure.
Are there more people with this problem, please let me know. And maybe how you solve it.
I hope realy if any one could help me.
If you know a anser, please give it in a comment

  • Rendered video very low quality

My camera shoots in MTS format. I converted the file to mp4 and edited it. I then imported that footage into After Effects and when I tried to render the video it was very low quality. I made sure the composition settings and render settings matched that of my video. I tried saving it as H.264, mov, avi, m4v, and mpeg2 non of which were good enough quality to use. The avi format came close in quality for the video but everything seemed to move in slow motion. The audio played perfectly though. I also tried rendering video directly from the MTS file and it still didn't work.
Is there a specific way I should convert or encode the file? I tried some different settings within Adobe Media Encoder but when I brought the file into AE and tried to render I got the same issues of it being low quality.
This is for a client so it's very important that I get the needed effects added to this video. Thanks in advance for any help!

I understand how After Effects rendering works and different file types. I just wanted to try rendering in different formats just make sure I hadn't missed something. I figured something out that came close to the quality I need so I guess it will have to work.
My original MTS file is 1920 x 1080 and 29 fps.
I rendered it with these settings originally
    NTSC, 1920 x 1080
    29.9 fps
    Bitrate CBR 30 Mbps
The file came out choppy and noticeably lower quality.
The last time I rendered it with these settings:
    NTSC, 1280 x 720,
    59.94 fps
    Bitrate CBR 20 MBps
The quality was much much better. It still had a little distortion with a lot of movement but it was much more bearable so I guess that's what I'm going with. If anyone knows of any better settings it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

  • Low FPS / Choppy Gameplay after hard reboot

I have been having a problem for the past few weeks regarding significantly reduced FPS and choppy video while gaming.
Everything was running great up until about a week ago. I was playing a game in windowed mode and watching a DVD when my PC locked up. After a hard reboot, I logged back into the game and started seeing choppy video and very reduced FPS in certain situations. I am using the latest drivers for my video card and have tried a clean install of windows along with the game but the problem still persists. The choppiness can be seen at even the lowest resolutions with low detail settings. I have also noticed this while playing other games as well.
I do not believe that overheating is an issue. I also do not believe that system resources are a problem. If you look at my hardware specs below, you will see why I am so surprised by this issue..
Is it possible that a hard reboot could have damaged some hardware? Is there any way to check if something was damaged by the reboot?

Video Card: Geforce 8800 GTX (tried latest release and beta drivers)

Please also check your temperatures.  If CPU Core temps are too high, the processor will automatically clock itself down to avoid overheating + shutdown.  This may cause lags and reduced FPS rates as well.

  • Calls to MCU 4215 with low fps

    Hello,
Just installed a MCU 4215. When i call from my endpoints (SX20), the video quality is very poor. Checking the info of the call (attached img) the only thing that comes to my attention is the low fps rate...
The endpoint and MCU are connected to the same switch.
    Ideas?

  • Very Low 3dMark2001 score w/ MSI GeForce4 MX440SE-T

    HELP!!
    My System:
    AMD Athlon xp 2000+
    ASUS A7V333
    256 DDR 333MHz Kingston RAM(Latency 2.5)
    (MS-8878)MSI Geforce4 MX440SE-T
And With that system I am getting very low scores about 4070 at 3Dmark2001 SE! It seems to me impossible, it is near to my old Geforce 2MX.
I think there is some problem with my configuration, but yet I couldn't find anything.I tried alot of things, checked all drivers they are all up to date.(Via 4in1 drives:latest hyperion thing,NVidia WHQL certf. 40.72. etc..)I enabled fast write, enhanced agp performance control from bios and eveything I know from display settings i.e. Antialiasing disabled, d3d tweaked and still the problem persists.
I need someone who can help me under these hard and strange conditions.. ?(

I have to agree with sqersch, I've run at 60 mhz and got way more than 60 fps, refresh rate doesn't have alot to do with card performance.  Sure you get a fps boost when you increase the refresh rate but nothing significant and it certainly doesn't "cap" the frame rate, it can just improve it slightly.  Besides about the only thing you would want to increase the refresh rate for is so that it would be easier on the eyes, (less flicker).  As for the guy complaining about his benchmark, what exactly do you expect to get with an mx version of a geforce 4?  I'm not saying that score isn't wrong, just wondering what score you hope to achieve with an mx card.

  • Msi gtx 970 4G low fps

    Hello,
    Been struggling with this for about a week now. I took the offer on the Far Cry 4. I upgraded my card from a GTX 660ti single card. I have played FC 3 on the old card with no difficulties. I have loaded the newest drivers and upgraded my BIOS. I have Bench marked the card  on 3DMark and Unigene. I am getting very low readings and not even reaching 30 fps. When I play Far Cry 4 I barely get 12 fps. I am not sure if I have done something incorrectly here via the installation or I have a faulty card. My setup is as follows;
    i7 - 3770k @3.50 GHz 4 core
    16 GB of RAM
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
    BIOS American Megatrends Inc 2014
Any insight here would be very much appreciated.

    Hi Dave,
I have the same card as you this is what ive found to be my best setttings. There by no means a fix just helps.
1 uninstall the driver suite using DDU in safe mode .
    2 download drivers 344.11.
3 install ONLY 344.11 not the package install what you need later down the line.
4 go in the bios and see if you can enable x.m.p in your ram  also when your there check pci is on next gen 3 .
5 back in windows go to nvidia control panel and set ( this is the best one for  me ) change down from the native resolution to one lower that works for you . eg i use a Sony bravia native is 1080p 1920x1080 iv'e changed to 1080p 1600x900
6 go to manager 3d settings
max  pre rendered frames  use 3d
multi display single display use performance mode
    power management prefer maximum performance
    vertical sync use 3d application
virtual reality pre rendered frames  1
msi after burner overclock  your gpu
    core voltage  +20
    power limit  max
    clock core  +200
    memory clock +250
    fan speed auto
In game  set  all  graphic settings to  max (for some strange reason you don't see any fps improvement if you set them to low )
turn v sync on  in all games or cap fps
use fraps software  to monitor your fps
    my games
Bf4 multi player  in use bf4 settings editor to cap my fps at 60  . have micro stuttering but is  is 95% 60 fps every where
cod blop2 frame in game caped at 45  very  little problem
    crysis   totally unplayable
    far cry 3  working ok
    just cause 2 good
batman arkham just started playing seams OK
    Hope it works for you

  • MSI GT70 2PE LOW FPS

My brand  new MSI GT70 2PE DOMINATOR 880M with 8GB of video memory was working just fine, after about 3 weeks of usage, roughly 2 hours a day of Call of duty it started giving me low fps after 10-15 minutes of playing.
These are the following which I have tried to fix the problem:
Changed advanced power settings for maximum performance.
Changed 3D settings for each game individual to have maximum performance in power settings
Changed 3D settings globally to have maximum performance in power settings.
Obviously I have chosen NVIDIA GPU to be used.
When none of these worked, I tampered the void sticker and changed thermal paste, some of the paste was off the GPU and CPU but mostly it was there, so changed it, for both, screwed it back together, and NOTHING HAS CHANGED,
Temperatures before changing the paste and after did not change as well, while playing are around 60 celcious for GPU and CPU, 140 Fahrenheit.
So after 5 minutes of playing with new paste FPS drops again to 10 FPS per sec in COD, and this is the case for every game that I have, total war series, cod series, poe, skyrim, every game.
So does that mean that my GPU is faulty ?
One thing I've remembered; while I had this issue already, I switched off power plug and played on battery i Played total war 2 on strategic map mostly so fps wasn't noticeable there, after power for to about 28% I switched power back in and started playing COD, for 2 hours while it was charging and I was playing FPS was perfect. Next day problem was there again, I tried to do the same, switched it off till it got to 30% switched power back to play in hope that FPS will be normal, but it was never like this agian, same 5FPS problem.
And also during 3 weeks of playing I noticed that my power button was mostly of white color, it was changing sometimes to red but mostly white, right now it is only red, if you guys can help me out, id really appreciate it, really this is most powerful notebook there is, i saved for year to get it and I got this crap, I am very very

So I might have something here, during 10 minutes of play with normal FPS and also while not running anything, 4 cores gave readings:
    0:3692-3791
    1:3592-3692
    2:3592-3692
    3:3592-3692
So not numbers in between, just these 2 figures for each core
While not running anything readings on CPU temperature would change randomly between 48c and 55c every 1/3 of a second on every core, every core had different readings in between these ranges.
After FPS drop readings changed at once to:
    0:3292-3791
    1:3292-3692
    2:3292-3692
    3:3292-3692
CPU clock would change every 1/3 of a second and also ratio would change rapidly 33,36,37
I closed the game, for 20 minutes leaving notebook turned on, readings stayed the same giving "after" fps readings, I tried to launch the game again, there was
    immediate low fps
Consistency of readings on CPU temperature while running the game before and after FPS drop look the same and would change randomly between 54c and 60c every 1/3 of a second on every core, and for every core temperature would be different
I left notebook for 30 minutes, turned off power fan, and temperature would be between 60 and 64 on some cores and 64 and 69 on others, while not running anything..can that mean that I applied new thermo paste incorrectly ?

  • Low FPS and high contrast footage suffering on TVs

There are two problems I'm running into here:
One is that the motion on cuts with low FPS becomes very "choppy" ONLY when viewed on a TV. You could also describe it as having ghost trails or "flickering." This applies both to cuts which I've slowed down (without using frame blending) and to cuts which I've deliberately lowered the FPS (to give it a certain look) without slowing them down.
The second is that certain cuts seem to cause the picture to randomly... resize when viewed on a TV. I've noticed it mostly occurs on cuts with some very bright areas combined with very dark ones. I noticed it when the artificial widescreen that I applied to the cuts seem to shrink for a few frams at a time and then "revert" to it's natural position. I later confirmed that the entire image, not just the black matte, was resizing. On certain cuts where the resizing is more abrupt (like when gun flashes are present) it can make you VERY sick!
Since I use NTSC DV at 720x480, I went ahead and manually set the field dominance region to the lower. That didn't help, so I raised the bitrate (quite substantially too, although still under 9.8) and told it to do a Two Pass VBR. Still no luck.
Some other things I've tried: Setting motion detection to best, using iDVD, using different DVDs with differing quality, using different TVs, using Build/Format with a new folder instead of just Burn, and other random things that never really had any hope of succeeding.
This is my first time asking a question here for DVD Studio Pro, so if you need any technical information about the project itself just ask.

A side question (still eagerly awaiting an answer to
my original): How do I force DVD Studio Pro to
    re-encode?
First try deleting your video_ts folder.
Following is conjencture based on a similar problem I had and what worked for me, but truth is, I don't really know why it worked -- If deleting the video_ts folder doesn't do it, see if there are .m2v files created by your project. DON'T DELETE THEM, just hide them. If DVDSP asks for them, put them back. If DVDSP doesn't ask for them, it might force a re-encode.
