Veteran NEO users please help me analyze my current situation: IS my system STABLE?
Alright, after some woes with my CDROM, I believe my system is running at 100%.
Below are the final specs that will not be changed:

Here are my reports:
The bios reports reports my CPU temp to be 65-69C and the mobo temp to be 45. Do you pple think its a bug? My HS feel slightly warm to the touch most of the time.
I installed AquaMark and ran it at the highest setting for 4 loops w/o any crashes, errors or BSOD
I ran Prime95 Torture Test for 12 hours without a single error.
My Questions: Are those a good indicator that my system is @ 100% stability? Under heavy stress? I left my system on for the past 2 days w/o a single crash or BSOD, reboot etc.
I've seen pple here with lockups during 3D gaming(Other than the PB issue) and general lockups now and then. Before I proceed to OCing and Imaging the drive, i want the re-assurance that my current setting 100% stable and no hardware is defective.

In that case only the previous owner can unlock it, either by providing you with the account ID and password, or by removing it from his list of devices (as he should have done before selling it) - please see http://support.apple.com/kb/ts4515
If you unable to contact him to do this then I'm afraid you will not be able to use the device - there is no other way of unlocking it at all.
You should if possible return it to wherever you bought it and ask for a refund as in this event the device is completely useless.

MMS is a carrier issue... contact Verizon and ensure your account is provisioned correctly. I would think that someone would be intelligent enough to do that before buying a new device, but......
iMessage could be an activation issue or a network issue.
Have you tried Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings?
Does iMessage work consistently on Wi-Fi? -

step1 : i have taken SRM client 810 and named it as CHINNISRM
step2 : i have taken r3 client 810 and named it as CHINNIR3
step3: During material master replication i maintained tables like crmconsum,crmrfcpar,crmparoltp in r3 and smofparsfa in srm client and filtered the objects and loaded the objects through r3ac3,r3ac1,r3as.
step4 : And later i have checked in r3 queues to activate the objects,but i have seen a message like "LOGICAL SYSTEM CHANGED:SEE 588701".according to the oss instructions i have checked in CRMPRLS table in se16 in R3 .there i found out there is one logical client named with T90CLNT810.

Solution
There are different cases in which different forms of processing are
required or where several options exist:
- The logical system name of an R/3 Backend client was changed in
current operation. In this case, the data hangs in the outbound
queues of the R/3 Backend system as specified under point 1 of
the symptom. In this case, the logical system name must be
changed back to the original value. Then the outbound queues
can be reactivated. If no data was transferred to the EBP/CRM
server before the change, also a correctioin of the check table
is possible.
- The same logical system name was used again in a new client of
an R/3 Backend system that was linked to the EBP/CRM server. In
this case, the data is in the inbound queue of the EBP/CRM
server with the exception GUID_FOR_LOGSYS_CHANGED. In this
case, the queue entries which have status SYSFAIL must be rejected, however, not the entire queues. If the new client of the R/3 Backend system you have linked has exactly the same
data as the old client and if it is meant to replace the old
client (that is, this was deactivated), also a correction of
the check tables is possible. In this case, the inbound queues
can be reactivated after the correction.

I am trying to download iTunes on my new desktop computer (Windows 7, 64 bit). It starts installing, and then stops with the message- "The System Administrator has set policies to prevent this installation." This is a stand alone computer and I am the sole user. Please help.

I would say 4.9Mb/s on such a large file is good....
1GB = 1024Mb
1Gb = 2.5 mins to transfer
Therefore 4.9Mb are transferred every second...... If you are looking for the 100MB/s that's PEAK and not actual......

Itunes library locked!!!! new mac user please help!!!!!!
i just got a new macbook pro.. i was transferring my music from an external hardrive to the itunes library, i have a lot of music, itunes stopped working so i forced it quit, and now when i try to open itunes i get this message that the itunes folder is locked or in a locked disk and i don't have permission to access it... What can i do??? im a new mac user.... please help!!!

You could try changing the permissions of the file/folder where the iTunes library is stored

Find where the library is probably within the Music folder of your users home folder. Right click it and then Get Info
Go to the the Sharing and Permissions section at the bottom and make sure your user has rear write permissions. If not click the padlock change it, click the gear wheel and then apply to enclosing items, and OK.
I think that worked for me last time this happened...although I have now just upgraded to Snow Leopard, and the problem has just re occured and it has not worked this time. Maybe a re boot will help
You could also go to the Disk Utility (type Disk Utility in Spotlight) and try a repair permissions and Repair Disk

Can't Unpartition windows disk. New user please help!
Hi there,
I am a new user to MAC. Everything was working just fine until I decided to partition my drive using bootcamp for Windows XP. The disk was a little scratchy but I thought I would try any ways. If it worked great if not whatever. Well Mac partitioned the drives nicely to 32GB. However when I tried to install my Windows XP disk with SP2 it failed. So I said whatever. I went to eject the disk and it wouldn't eject. So I turned off the computer and turned it back on then ejected the disk again which worked.
The only problem is I had a Volume called BootCamp and a Volume called Disk0S1. I tried to use BootCamp to delete the partitions and it told me; "Back up the disk and use Disk Utility to format it as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume. Restore your information to the disk and try using Boot Camp Assistant again".
I wasn't to sure what that means however I went to Disc Utilitiy, Erase, highlighed Bootcamp(which is now called Disk0S3 I don't know why) and went to security option, Zero Out Data came back and hit Erase. The Volume Format says MS-DOS(FAT) and the Name says Disk0S3.
So off it goes and the disk is erased, unmounted and then mounted and put right back. I am assuming I am doing something wrong. Do I need to change the Volume Format to MAC OS EXTENDED (JOURNALED)? If so do I change the name? If so to what, Macintosh HD?
Everyone at work says mac ***** I don't wan them to be right so can someone please help me. Also if I can't get back to one partition do I just reboot the mac with the disk that was provided? Of course I would loose all my info but that is okay I only got this mac on December 25.Get a bootable, external HD (preferably FireWire, since it's 40-50% faster than USB 2 and designed for data transfers), make a bootable backup/clone of your current installation, and ensure that it's bootable and works like the original.

Hello everyone, i recently got a 30gb ipod video and i am really enjoying it. although the video portion is kind of odd. Podcasts are no problem, but when it comes to dvd's or just movies stored on my computer there seems to be a lot to choose from. I am running a windows machine but i am not sure as to what to use, sorry about the post(i know there is a lot). but i am looking for a good program to convert dvd's for use on my ipod. I dont know what to trust on here. Could someone please help me with what they use for windows. any help is appreciated, thanks
I have a windows system as well. I use two programs that work quite well and are free. First to get them (dvd's) on my computer I use decrypter. It works great, then I convert it with streamclip. There are a lot of great programs out there and most work well.
I will leave you with one bit of advice, there is a Spammer that goes under several different names and is pushing a program called cucosoft. I would not use it just because the person goes under like 8 different names pushing this program. It is not free and he must be in the envolved with the company in some way shape or form. Right now he uses cindyzz or meggicc or collins... any many other names... so beware -

1. We are going to migrate data center, we going to move physical server BUT we are going to purchase new Hitachi Storage.
2. We are going to use Hitachi TrueCopy to clone all the OCR, Vote Disk and ASMDisks
In the server I have following softlink created:
/dev/rdsk/myrac/ocr -> /dev/rdsk/myolddisk1d0s0
/dev/rdsk/myrac/votedisk -> /dev/rdsk/myolddisk2d0s0
/dev/rdsk/myrac/asmdisk -> /dev/rdsk/myolddisk3d0s0
What I am going to do is to recreate the softlink to the new LUN, then change the permission to either root:oinstall and oracle:oinstall and 640 or 660 accordingly.
/dev/rdsk/myrac/ocr -> /dev/rdsk/newdisk1d0s0
/dev/rdsk/myrac/votedisk -> /dev/rdsk/newdisk2d0s0

I cannot advise on the detail of your proposed method, but may I ask one question: are you certain that you have the best approach? If it is possible to mount the old and the new storage on the same node(s), then you can move the disk groups to the new storage by using ASM to relocate file extents, and you can also move the OCR and vote devices. All with zero downtime, -
Well after recieving an idea to fixing my underclocked CPU (2.4 Intel Northwood running at 1.99) by increasing the bus, I've tried it, more than once. Every time the computer just doesn't boot. Should I lower settings or anything, like voltage? Also, every one of my programs crash randomly, and its not fun =/. Anyone know a fix to this? BIOS change? CMOS change? Anything? Please help.
Like ASSAF said you need some faster ram. Preferably ddr400 so your ram and fsb will run synchronously. First time compressor user, please help!

I deal with raceway video and have recently switched editing platforms. I've figured Final Cut out O.K., but every time I use compressor, my video comes out looking horrible. My projects are usually two hours long. What I've been doing is going to the best quality 120 minute setting. What I'm confused about is when I go to the Quality tab after I've selected that option, at the bottom of the tab it says "allows up to 94 minutes of video". Now, I've never tried compressing on the best quality 120 minute setting without changing the bitrate because it seems to me the file size would be too big if the bit rate "allows up to 94" minutes. My usual action is to adjust the average bitrate until it says "allows up to 126 minutes of video" to give my self a little room, but the video looks HORRIBLE. I've heard many different things from different people and I think I'm officially lost. My previous editing platform didn't have a problem putting two hours of video on a dvd without much quality loss, but the video I'm getting from compressor isn't acceptable.
All I want to know is how to get two hours of video and a menu onto a DVD without horrible quality. I know I have to be doing something wrong.

Many people who use these systems are not putting out such long programmes and obviously they do not understand these problems and so this is a neglected area.
I have posted on this before and no one up to now has satisfactorily explained this:before the mac I have made DVDs of longer events (1.5 -2 hours) using a stand alone DVD recorder on SP. I am not saying the pics were perfect but they are a jolly sight better than what I am getting out of this system. No one can explain why the compression seems to take so much out of the quality. And the way you have to calculate what settings to use to try to get as much on in the best quality is bizarre and very hit and miss. You never really know whether it is going to fit until you see that little icon in DVD pro with the total gigabyte count and even that is a bit vague.
As a newish user, this has been my only gripe with the mac system which otherwise is fantastic. However, the customer only sees the finished result so this issue is important.
If you are not bothered about fancy menus for your kind of work, you might be better just playing out through a break out box into a stand alone DVD recorder - the Panasonics are excellent (PAL)- however be warned that there is a problem with the Miglia Director's Cut box on the G5 - my only other frustration!
So like you, at the moment I am putting out inferior quality to what I was doing before and not finding many answers. Your problem is made worse because you will have a lot of fast moving stuff.
There has been talk on the forums that compressor is not that good and we should be looking at other software - can someone recommend something specifically?

Right, there are the two things I can do with my Windows XP machines and can't find a valid solution on Mac OS X yet:
1. Folder Sync
I use 5 computers everyday, 2xMacs+1PCs at home, 1xMac at school and 1xPC in my office (part-time sys admin). It is obvious that i will need the folder sync feature so that I can keep working on one project on different computers. For windows there's a very neat feature called Briefcase, it bascially allows me to create two folders in different locations ( one in PC1, one memory stick for example ) and will automatically make sure these two folders sync with each other once connected . Just wondering if there's any software that allow me to do this on a Mac? and if it allow multiple sync (i.e. keep folders stored in 3+ locations up to date with each other, via network or portable storage device) that'll be even better.
2. Backup.
Since WInNT microsoft provides a Backup facility that allows me to perform regular backups of the entire system. except for the first backup which will copy my entire partition / harddrive content, the later ones will only add changed/newly created files to the existing backups (to save space and speed up the process). Carbon Disk Copy etc are merely GHOST-like utilities in Windows terms and does not have any advance features nor do they provide supports to exterenal hard drives (USB2, say). So, is there a good back up utility that I can use for my Mac OS X. ( i don't want to burn my 100G hard drive on 50 dvds every week )
thanks.There are various solutions for both items. Smart Folders coupled with an Automator action or a Folder Action can be used to mirror folder contents. You can also sync contents using various backup or sync software such as Deja Vu, Synchronize! Pro X, Super Duper, Retrospect, or one of dozens of other similar utilities. They can be found at www.versiontracker.com or www.macupdate.com. These utilities can be used both for individual folder syncing as well as complete backup solutions. Some will work only on connected drives and others will also work across network drives.
If you can't find a satisfactory solution for OS X you just haven't looked hard enough because there are literally dozens of alternative solutions available including Unix commands that run from the command line such as rsync, psync, and ditto. Use the Terminal (Utilities folder) and explore the man pages for these commands to learn their usage. There are also freeware GUI wrappers for rsync and psync - RSyncX and PSyncX.
