VI runs from one account but gives an error 37 from another account

I'm still running LabView 5.0 on a Solaris Server, 2.8. This is really weird. I have
a VI that will run just fine under my account, but another user tries to run the same
VI and gets an error 37, device not found. We are using NI Serial Port Init.vi and when
I run it from my account which is unprivilege without using sudo, no errors, but when
this user runs its, error 37 occurs. Any reason why this happens? It sounds like a
permission problem, but I do not know where to look. Suggestions welcomed.

Hey guys, I found the answer in this post. I guess I did not look hard enough before I posted. Sorry.
In the .labviewrc file make sure this line is included.
labview.serialDevices:/dev/ttya:/dev/ttyb: . . . .
This sets ttya as port 0 , ttyb as port 1 etc etc.
You may have them set as root but not as a regular user.
Also for Solaris 2 , Labview expects the ports to be /dev/cua/a , /dev/cua/b ,
etc etc.
You may need to change / add those links. ( I am a labview programmer not a
Sys Admin !!)
Make sure that the line in the .labviewrc matches what ever these are set to.
Note that the first dev listed will be port 0, the next port 1 etc. so you can
set them in any
order that you wish.

Java code runs normally through Eclipse but gives Encoding error thru cmd

Like most IDEs JBuilder too can be configured to not only use several compilers (in fact it can use a lot more than can Eclipse, basically any compiler you want it too rather than just a few built-in ones) and can also be set to accept different language compliance settings for each of them.
So even if your teacher has a 1.5 compiler installed it doesn't mean JBuilder will use it (it has to be told to use it) nor that his project settings will use 1.5 language compliance.
If he has a version older than JB 2005 he won't get syntax highlighting and things like that for 1.5 whatever he does, and won't get 1.5 level language features either (as those versions predate 1.5). He can plug in the 1.5 compiler but the IDE will reject the new language features because it simply doesn't recognise them.
Pre 3.1 Eclipse versions do the same.

Unable to access a certain link by one account but able to access under another account

I use safari on my imac. I was able to access a shared link (to access a briefcase) via a university website. It requires me to enter ID and password to access the briefcase. It also requires me to enter my ID and password whenever I click a new file in the briefcase. The shared link was okay until I let Safari remember my password.
Now when I click the shared link, it says "Error 404! No such item". I am not able to access that shared link.
I tried to log on my imac with another user/account, and found out that the shared link is still working. I also tried to use my macbook and the link is working as well. So i guess that it must be something wrong when I let Safari remember my password the first time when I accessed that link.
I have done Safari Reset and cleared all history, cookies, passwords, etc... but I am still not able to access that link under my own account.
How can I fix this?

1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. All it does is to collect information about the state of the computer. That information goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. However, you should be cautious about running any kind of program (not just a shell script) at the behest of a stranger. If you have doubts, search this site for other discussions in which this procedure has been followed without any report of ill effects. If you can't satisfy yourself that the instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
☞ Paste into the window of another application.
☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.

4. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode, under the conditions in which the problem is reproduced. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.

If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
8. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "syntax error," enter
exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
9. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
10. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
[Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report the results. No harm will be done.
11. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with "Model Identifier." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
12. When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." It means that the forum software has misidentified something in the post as a violation of the rules. If that happens, please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

User cannot send large attachment from one computer but can send it from OWA and other computers

A user cannot send an email with a 22 mb attachment from a computer he uses occasionally, but he can send the same file from OWA at this desk and from outlook at his normal desk.
We've recreated his outlook profile and we've tried re-installing office. We've also tried a new install of windows, but to no avail. We even tried a different network port, but it just seems to be this computer.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Try compressing the file, will it be sent then?
Please also start Outlook in Safe Mode to determine if it's 3rd-party add-ins related:
Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /safe” in the blank box, then press Enter.
If there’s no problem in Safe Mode, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which add-ins caused this issue.

Rejection note work fine from one approver where as throws error from other

Hi All,
I have set up rejection using standard template 139. This work fine and the process completes when the below cases are present
1) User and approver SAP id si same
2) X user set up as approver, Y user as initiator
but fails and throws an error in workflow log when
1) Y user is set up as approver and X user as initiator
I have checked the logs for error and it shows the below
ROLLBACK WORK executed (SWP_CALLBACK_WI_DONE item 8)
Object with runtime number '0' not defined
Step 0000000485 of WS90100030: Binding from workflow to work item aborted
ROLLBACK WORK executed (SWP_CONTINUE_WITH_NEXT_NODES item 1)
Step 485 of the workflow is a Sendmail step where the Standard Object SELFITEM method SENDTASKDESCRIPTION is defined as background and synchronous object method. It is not defined as DIALOG as it is not required.

I think the issue is with the usthorization for user Y. Check the authorizations for user X and Y in SU01.
Also check the binding in the workflow. Do debug the workflow for errors before executing the workflow.

If you turned off Contacts wouldnt that mean that the Contacts would no longer be backed up to iCloud as well? That would make it a pain when upgrading a phone to not easily pull contacts back down.

To migrate her device to a new account, start by saving any photo stream photos she keep to keep to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll. If she is syncing any notes with iCloud that she wants to keep on her device, you'll need to open each of them and email them to her so she can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in her new account. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (which only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud; your devices won't be effected by this), choose Keep on My iDevice and provide the password when prompted. Then sign back in with a different Apple ID to create her new account and choose Merge to upload her data. (If she has multiple devices, she can go through this same process on the others, but choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted as the data has now already been migrated to the new account.)
Once you are both on separate accounts you can each go to icloud.com and delete the other person's data from your account if you need to.
You can continue to share the same iTunes ID. The ID used for iCloud does not need to be the same as the ID used for iTunes.

Only your friend can unlock it, either by giving you his Apple ID and password, or by removing it from his list of devices - please see:

There is no way at all it can be unlocked without his doing this.
