VI with Several XControls on nested tabs takes minutes to load in LabVIEW 2013

Hello all,
I have a VI in LabVIEW 8.2 that includes more than 400 Xcontrols in nested tabs, which opens in seconds (very fast). The code was upgraded to LabVIEW 2013 and now the VI takes minutes to open and in the meantime LabVIEW is unusable with the CPU at 100%.
I am wondering if anybody has experienced this behavior with Xcontrols.

Please note that I am working with jarcTek on this project where we inherite that UI with so many XControls instances.
It is not like there are a lot of different XControls (there are a total of about 10 different type of XControls), but there are a lot of instances of these XControls (several 100) in 3 levels of nested tabs.
Yes, we both had the time to re-recompile the source code between the two posts that jarcTek made. The various XControls are stored in 4 different llbs. Most of the XControls that have a lot of instances are actually pretty simple (very little code there). Finally, yes the VI property (or the XControl library property general settings) indicate that the code is in LabVIEW 2013 [see image below].
You are correct, the delay occurs after the VI is loaded from disk. The loading time is fine (we see the loading progress/dialog since there are a few 100s vis to load with that main UI), but after that everything hangs for several minutes (cpu peg at 100%). We run the Desktop execution toolkit, and we can see a lot of XControl events (1000s) that are fired during this time.
FYI: Unloading (closing) the VI is also very slow.
To put this in perspective, In LabVIEW 8.2 the same code is ready to run immediately after the UI opens.

Firefox takes minutes to load upon starting up and changing web pages

When I open firefox in Windows Vista, it takes minutes(sometimes up to ten) to start up.Once firefox has loaded and I go to visit another web page, it takes minutes to load that web page. I downloaded Firefox 3.6.7 when it first came out, and it just recently started doing this. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling firefox, but this did not work. It is not a problem with my internet connection or operating system, because internet explorer and safari only takes seconds to load up and load web pages. I have run various scans to see if it was a virus or a bug, but nothing came up. How do I fix this, because using Internet Explorer is really getting on my nerves?

The xml file is 500KB. The dialog pops up very fast in Firefox, but in IE7 it takes minutes to open. When opening it in the page, without the dialog, the performance is fast.
Please help.

Does it open fast when you load the xml file manually in IE (without using it from the ADF / dialog)?
something like http://<host>:<port>/..../xml_original.xml ?

Why my application take longtime to load on Labview 6?

since I'm programming with labview 6, my application take too much time to load. The executable is wrost. Is there a solution to sort out this problem?

I think this is normal behavior. LabVIEW 6.0 performs many more checks on VIs when they load than 5.1. Are you getting the searching for VI window when you load your main VI? Are we talking on the order of 10secs?
Because your VI loads and runs properly, I do not think there is a problem with the installation of LabVIEW. You would reinstall if you wanted to make sure. You could see how fast the code loads on another machine for a benchmark. You can also improve the overall performace of your computer by adding RAM. This would speed loading and reduce the amount of virtual memory in use.
Finally, you can always contact tech support at www.ni.com\ask. Be sure to send them a VI so that you can compare load speeds.

Hello. I have windows xp sp3,and latest firefox, i think 26. And sometimes, not all the time,but most of it,my web browsing is so slow, i mean google search,web pages load,etc. Like minutes before it loads,and when finally does,sometimes i see only text ,in web pages,not images.
I have speed,as i can download torrents with 7 Mb/sec. Just web surfing is slow,painfully slow.
My question is,if you bear with me, is this a browser problem or a windows one ??
(i dont exclude even the possibility for the nice guys at microProose to inject a thing in windoze to make it slow,so we upgrade,in the light of recent discoveries:) .

I have windows 7, perfect connection to the internet, but it takes forever for firefox to load pages, sits and thinks for minutes before loading. what can i do?

i have windows 7, the internet connection is perfect, i use other computers with no problem loading pages. With this pages take forever to load, worse then if i had dialup. I think internet explorer is the same, but i don't use it and it's very out of date. I tried a system restore, it worked for a day then back to the same thing. How can I build a LabView application that uses the 2012 runtime, on a development system with LabView 2013 or 2014 installed?

I need to build a LabView application .exe to run with the 2012 Runtime, for legacy support. I currently have LabView 2013 installed on my development system, and have 2014 available. How can I build an application that uses the 2012 runtime on this development system? Do I have to downgrade to 2012? Thank you.

We have existing customers that have installed our application that was originally built with 2012 (provided by a contractor that is no longer available). Due to IT regulations, it is far easier to update these customers by simply replacing the .exe file, than creating an install that their IT department must run.
If I have to downgrade to LabView 2012, where can I get the installation for this?

Is it possible to open several tabs at once (with certain websites on the tabs) by just using one icon?

I'd like to make several groups of website tabs that would each open up by double clicking on a single shortcut.
For example: when I am going to do my online banking I would like to open a single shortcut, and then that would open all of my banking websites, each on a different tab.

Do you mean starting via a desktop shortcut?
You can add all URLs to the command line separated by a space.<br />
If the list gets too long then you need to use a firefox.cmd file to start Firefox with all the websites.

Yes, it's possible.
First create a folder of bookmarks containing the pages you want to have appear as tabs when you start Safari.
Once you've got that bookmarks folder set up, go into your General Safari preferences. At "New windows open with:" select "Choose tabs folder ..." as per the following screenshot:

Quit and restart Safari. Do the contents of the bookmarks folder open in tabs in a new window?
(To change what tabs you have opening in a new window, just change the content of the bookmarks folder you've selected in your preferences.)

When I minimize ff with several tabs I can maxamize the one I was on straight away but any other one I have to click twice, why?

when I minimize my ff with several tabs it goes to my task bar with a number of shadows equal to the tabs I have opened if I mouse over it I get small previews of the tabs open and I can open the one I was on last straight away but if I click on any other I get a beep and then nothing so I have to do the same thing again before it will open to a different tab, why?

One master with several detail in tabs

Does anyone have any tutorial or example on how to develop form (insertable and updatable) that links the master table to several child tables in tabs and has commit button on it - something similar to what you usually do in Oracle Forms. For example, in the form, you may see an employee's profile at the top and his job history in one tab, performance appraisals in another tab, and trainings in another tab, etc. All of them must be presented in the same form and, when the form is saved, updated records in any of those tables will be updated. Any idea?

File encoded with x264 takes forever to load in Encore CS 5.5

I use Encore mostly because it takes h.264 video encoded with the x264 compressor, which provides much higher quality than any other compressor. The problem is that these files take forever to load. For example, right now I'm trying to load a video that is about 1 hour and 20 minutes long, encoded at 38 Mbps, and the file is 20.9 GBytes. Now it's 3 PM and I imported this file along with the AC3 file over an hour ago. The Encore process shows as not responding, but when I open the Windows 7 Resource Monitor, in the disk tab it shows that it's reading the video file at a rate of about 45 MB/s, so I didn't kill the Encore process. I know eventually it's going to stop and load the file, but I don't understand why it takes so long. The encoding parameters that I used in x264 are these:
x264 --level 4.1 --bluray-compat --preset slow --bitrate 38000 --keyint 30 --min-keyint 2 --open-gop --weightp 0 --slices 4 --vbv-bufsize 30000 --vbv-maxrate 40000 --rc-lookahead 40 --tff --output "output" "input"
This comes from a family video that is 1080 59.94i. This time these two parameters appeared because I selected Blu-ray as the target: --bluray-compat and --open-gop, which I don't normally use, but still, even when I don't use them, video encoded with x264 takes forever to load. Does anybody here know what could be the problem?

What's weird is last year I encoded a file that was almost two hours long and Encore took it without trouble, although it was CS5, not 5.5. Since I had kept the avs and bat files, and also the x264.exe from that encode, I brought them into the current working folder and I just modified the file names in the avs and bat files to point to the new avi and encode to the new h264 file. So I encoded this file, I imported it into Encore, and it still hangs. Maybe it was a change from CS5 to 5.1 that introduced a problem. x264 has been certified to be Blu-ray compliant since over a year ago, and I already put this file to a Blu-ray with TSMuxer, since it was a family video and I didn't really need menus, and it plays perfectly fine in my Blu-ray player.
But I'm sure there must be something, one or two parameters that would make it compatible. For example, after encoding the file again the last time, now I can import it into Encore, and it doesn't stay frozen forever, but it doesn't show me the video and as soon as I try to move the timeline cursor it freezes and doesn't let me do anything for several minutes. So still it's not usable. But it's a change from the first encode where the progress dialog would be there for several hours and do nothing at all.

The apps downloaded from the Mac App Store are written by third party developers, not Apple. If you have problems with those apps you need to visit the support area for their websites. Launch the App Store, locate the app name. You should see a support link.

Go to ~/Library/Preferences. Move the com.apple.helpviewer.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash. Restart your Mac, try the Help menu.
If you need help finding that file, hold down the Finder icon in the Dock then click: New Finder Window. From the menu bar top of your screen click: Go > Go to Folder. Type this in exactly as you see it here: ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.helpviewer.plist That will take you right to that file.
(.plist) files stores information about a particular app or in this case, the Help viewer. Often times deleting the .plist file resolves the issue.

Having trouble with dreamweaver cs 6 spry tabbed panels, all content in each tab showes through like it was all created on one page, plus mouse over doesnt work on them.
This started all of a sudden.
The entire website is a series of spry tabbed panels.
