VIA Hyperion 4 in 1 drivers

I have recently tried to install the VIA 4 in 1 drivers 4.1.53 but, each time I try and install them, I get the message that the system file "isapnp" cannot be found ! I manually browsed and found the file and the Hyperion 4.1.53 install completed.
However, after re-booting I went into device manager, system devices and checked the VIA PCI, CPU to AGP and Host Bridge driver details and they are all dated the year 2002 or 2003.
Surely if the new Hyperion drivers had been installed these drivers would be dated 2004 ?
Any helpful comments would be much appreciated.

AGP driver recommendation:
To deliver a quality user experience, a universal standard for AGP drivers, UAGP35, is being adopted by all chipset vendors
with AGP 3.5-capable hardware. VIA have worked with Microsoft on this issue for a long time and continue to do so. There are
many VIA AGP3.0/3.5 devices which are supported in SP2. VIA's AGP driver contained in the latest Hyperion 4in1 drivers will
work properly with Windows SP2, however, the default Microsoft driver is recommended. Please follow the advice below,
depending on whether you are installing WinXP and SP2 on a clean system or installing SP2 on top of WinXP SP1.
Clean system install:
(1) Install Windows XP
(2) Install SP2
(3) Install VIA Hyperion 4in1 4.53 driver but untick the AGP driver so that it is not installed.
System Upgrade:
If your system already has Windows XPSP1 installed and the VIA Hyperion 4in1 4.53 driver then:
1) Install SP2
2) Install VIA Hyperion 4in1 4.53 driver
3) Uninstall the VIA AGP driver. Go to Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager > VIA CPU to AGP Controller > Driver > Uninstall.
4) Restart the PC. SP2 will automatically install the UAGP (Microsoft default driver).
By removing the VIA AGP driver you will then be using the recommended Microsoft default AGP driver from SP2.

I was able to set my fsb to 138 with no problem with the 4.43 but when i installed the 4.45 windows reset when running 3dmarks2001se. set fsb back to 133 and no problems. Not sure if it was just a one time deal but dont want to chance setting the fsb back up. +/- 8000 is good enough for me. for now anyway

VIA bus master ide drivers

hi,
I just installed winXP on an MSI 6368 motherboard, but when Windows load, it keep asking for VIA Bus Master IDE drivers. Those drivers aren't on the CD that came with the motherboard and I'm not seeing IDE drivers listed on MSI website. What should I do?

Having recently re installed XP to new hard drive thought I should update the VIA chipset drivers so have installed 4in1 Hyperion 451v.
Am having some lock up problems transfering files from 1 hard drive to another on the same IDE channel.
Power supply problem identified and new Antec on the way.
Looking for some opions guidance around standard XP drivers vs Via and as this is quite old board should I be using retro Via drivers for stability.
Views, thoughts experience appreciated.

Some kt266 chipsets requires the VIA latency patch.
Fixes file transfer issues, corruption and stability issues.
Improves PCI bus transfer rates and crackling sound issues.

VIA Hyperion 4in1 v4.48

Is anyone else havin problems with the new *hyperion* 4 in 1 drivers?
Since VIA changed the name, back at v4.44 or 4.45, i have been unable to update my drivers.
Everytime i do, it starts out ok, gets right up to the point where its about to ask me to restart my pc , and the dam thing locks up.
When i restart it, it goes thru the usual start up routine, but wont boot fully, and just leaves me with a black screen, and a lil flashing cursor in the top left corner of my screen. Because of this, i am stuck at v4.43 (not that they cause any trouble, i just like to keep my drivers updated regularly)
I then have to take my case apart so i can get to the CMOS jumper, and reset it just to get the pc to boot normally, then reinstall the older 4.43 drivers to insure it has a full set.
system spec is:
MSI kt3 Ultra 2C
XP2000+ with Globalwin CAK4-88T hsf arrray with arctic silver thermal paste
MSI Gf4Ti4200 128mb 4xAGP
512mb DDR333mhz ram
SB live 5.1 Sound Card

Aardvark is right, for Win98/ME users, it is better off to stay with the older 4 in 1 Driver. You'll get better stability.
Probably it's time to move on to Win2k or even better yet WinXP.

try downloading and installing the chipset driver first if you've not already done it. Saying it need an IDE Bus Master Driver, the sistem seems to search them!

VIA 4 in 1 Drivers

In the past I have installed v4.43 (recommended for older chipsets) but I don't see much evidence of them in Device Manager.
The only driver I can see is the VIA Cpu to AGP Controller which is listed as v5.1.0.3430 dated 24/07/02. That doesn't appear to be the v4.43 driver although I can't be sure.
All the other drivers with the exception of graphics and on-board sound are provided by Microsoft.
Exactly where would I expect to see the other 3 drivers not shown?

You have probably seen these already at viaarena but in case you missed then you can see what changes have been made. BTW for your guide it is my understanding that v4.43 added 8x agp and 133ATA.

VIA Drievrs or MSI Drivers

Hi ,
if u have ever gone to the VIA ARENA web site, uwill find that teh dirvers listed there are more recent than the MSI Drivers listed with the respective motherboards. I just wonder if one should go for the VIA Drivers or stick with the older MSI Drivers.

Most here go for the VIA drivers, as they are more recent then the MSI ones....

Via 4 in 1 Drivers and Bios for KT6 Delta

Below is my current setup. My machine either freezes or shuts down when I try to install the Via 4 in 1. Any suggestions?
Also, what Bios should I load? I've heard of problems with the most recent release.
What is everyone else using and what do you recommend?

Are you sure you have installed the right VIA drivers (they're are different driver types for different system setups)? Sounds like you have put on the wrong VIA drivers.
The VIA drivers that you should use can be found on the MSI website:

Always look under the driver section and you will find all the suitable and current driver updates for VIA chipsets for your motherboard.

"Games Crash" Via Hyperion 4in1 drivers_Windows X64

I have recently noticed that in ATI's Catalyst settings, it does not recognize my AGP card or settings, but games seem to work fine. I downloaded and installed the hyperon 4in1 package which includes via's AGP driver V4.50D. Now catalyst recognizes my AGP card and settings, but games e.g. "call of duty 2" crash hard at menu screen. video is gone forcing a system reboot. I am running directX 9c. Is there a need for via's AGP driver? what is its purpose ?

I'm not sure I understand your question. If you are refering to system info. Windows x64 does list an AGP controller. Its just that the ATI software (catalyst) does not seem to recognize this. AGP settings are greyed out w/in the ATI panel, and I'm not able to adjust the AGP speed, and fast write/read etc. w/in the catalyst software. I'll have to do some research on ATI's forum. Like I had mentioned above, games run fine w/o the VIA 64 bit AGP driver installed. I have no Idea why VIA released a 64bit AGP driver. I'm assuming its something to do with the AGP hardware on the mobo vs. the actual video card? All I know is when I installed the VIA AGP driver for X64 It really screwed up my system for gaming? Good thing I had a system back up !

I dont know of any performance increase or the like,I'm just one of those blokes

Not Receiving Email Notifications via Hyperion Workflow Process

Hi All,
Configuring SMTP for workflow process in Hyperion planning.
I did the following steps for the above process.
1--> I checked whether SMTP server is running or not using Telnet command in the machine where the application is running-->*[Its working fine]*
2-->Then I logged in to planning application with admin credentials and set the Email server details as follows
2.a) *[Planning-->Administration-->Application-->Settings-->I entered the Email server details]*
2.b) *[Planning-->File-->Preferences-->Planning-->I mentioned the Email address for administrator]*
3--> I created several users using shared services console and I set the security Access type as Descendents Inclusive for each and every dimensions.
4--> I set the Email address for every users which are created in the above step *[Planning-->File-->Preferences-->Planning]*
5--> I created a Planning unit Hierarchy.
6-->I logged as a Planner and I entered the budget in the Data form .
7-->I promoted this budget to the Higher official for verification process.
8-->But I didn't get the status mail for the above process.
Kindly guide me whether I am following the right procedure to config SMTP in my application.
How to get the status of the notification mail through relational tables.
Kindly mention the location of log files regarding this issue.
Please guide me to overcome this issue.

Anonymous in the sense that you mean like Unauthenticated connection. Yes my mail server is unauthenticated server, hence it doesn't require any username and password.

NX 8600GT - Constant BSODs

I just bought a NX8600GT, a K8V-XE motherboard and a 650W PSU did a fresh install of XP, so far so good.
But as soon as I install the Nvida drivers the computer will crash with a bluescreen if I as much as dare to open the browser, change refresh rate or try to open the Nvidia control panel.
This a known issue and does anyone have suggestion for a fix?

The PSU is a Corsair TX650W the amp on the 12V is 52A, I installed the Via hyperion 5.15 drivers before installing 169.21 Nvidia drivers. Earlier I tried the drivers the MSI live update suggested with no luck.
Err one little thing though. The quick installation guide mentions a SPDIF internal cable I couldn't find one in the box, is that needed?
Quite green when it comes to this hightech PCI-express stuff :P

Installing Audigy Drivers on XP pro via group polic

We have a suite of machines in our music dept which run XP Pro and which contain Sound Blaster Audigy Cards. Our normall practice is to create an msi package from a machine which works, then use that to push drivers/software whatever out to the other machines. I can create an msi for the SD Audigy drivers and software ok, but when I try to install that on an machine via a GPO the drivers will not install.
Has anybody else had this problem and solved it's Becuase otherwise I'll have to install the sound drivers manually. If I do this then I have to install all the music apps the same way as they will all require the drivers to install. I'd rather not do this: we have 7 now, but when we have 30 ........

Have you asked in groups which are focused on system administration of XP, too? I think that's more likely to be fruitful than here (you should ask here as well, because someone else could indeed have direct experience with the Audigy case).

KT3- problems w/via drivers, memory

I made a pc for my friend.
Specs: KT3 Ultra
1800+
PC 2700 (generic)
40 gb maxtor
300 watt generic
win98se
Two problems:
1. When i go into the bios and change the memory to run at 333, when rebooting it doesnt give me a screen.
i know! i was trying to keep it cheap so i went with cheaper memory
2. when i install the via 4-in-1 drivers, the computer hangs constantly. then after the first reboot, it restores the original bios :O .

1. use "load BIOS setup default", change CPU FSB to 133Mhz. In the DRAM Timing, set all to the slowest but with HCLK+33. Set DDR Voltage to higher too, 2.6 2.7 2.8.
2. Use 4.38 or 4.41. Or don't use any either.
3. Get a better power supply. Or else set your RAM to 266Mhz if you still face any stability issues.
