Video Freezes when overriding flv files on FMS server

I have an flash application that captures a web cam video stream and stores it on the FMS server.
I notice when I create a brand new video, and store it on my FMS server, it works fine.
When I make another video and my application overrides the file with the new video, this is where I get problems.
When I download the flv file from the FMS server, and I play it locally it plays fine, but the timeline is weird.
The web player freezes the video during that first 15 seconds.
A 30 second video, will have a time line of like 45 seconds, the local flv player is smart enough to skip over the paused part of the video.
You will see it skip over the timeline to the good video (from 0sec to 15 secs).  The web player freezes the video during that first 15 seconds.
Any clues that I described that makes you know what is going on?

Great that gives me a big clue, which asc file do you think I need to look in?

  • How to protect your .flv files on a server?

So I have a .swf which references playback of some .flv files on my server....Is there a way to protect these .flv files from access through any means other than with the .swf controls I have created?  Currently I can simply type in the url location of the .flv files and download them completely circumventing the .swf if I so choose, which is not really how I would like them to exist...
I would far prefer that they are only accesible through the .swf.
Is there any way to do this....I know it's not a Dreamweaver specific question, or at least I don't think it is...but I would be interested in any thoughts.
    Thanks,
    James Hooey

Lynda.com uses either Quicktime or Flash...they added Flash playback of movies within a new Flash Player around a year ago. I'm a member of Lynda and use their services all the time.
When I was trying a flash grabber it was on these Flash based tutorial videos.
Just thought you would like to know that Lynda does have a Flash option and the grabber does not work with it.
My initial question is not in any way about me grabbing or copying Flash movies anyway, but rather that I want to protect my own Flash based movies on my own website.
    Thanks,
    All the best,

  • Video freezes when uploaded on LMS

    Hi,
I created a file in Adobe Captivate 7 trial version. Swf output, published it. The motion video was recorded using the 'record additional slides' function in captivate. When I view the .htm files offline, locally, they work fine.
However, after uploading the zip file, and viewing the file, the audio and static slides work fine, but the motion video FREEZES right at the beginning of the video while the audio continues.
    How do I overcome this?
    Thanks!

OK.  Based on this new evidence my guess would be that your LMS server is not set up to serve MP4 video files.  Captivate 5.5 used FLV video for Full Motion Recordings.  Cp6 and Cp7 now record simulations as CPVC files which are then published to MP4 video before insertion into Captivate projects.
By default web servers are only initially set up to serve certain types of files.  My guess would be that your LMS web server permits FLV video files but has not been set to also serve MP4.  SCORM Cloud IS set up to serve MP4 and that's why your content works on SCORM Cloud but not on your current LMS.

  • Quick guide to publishing an FLV file to FMS?

Is there a quick step by step guide to publishing an FLV
    Video for streaming download?

Actually Flash makes this pretty easy when you publish video
from a camera, for this just hook in the camera onto your
    netstream, then use publish: YourNetStream.publish(streamName,
    "record");
For more details just have a look at documentation (primarily
"flashmediaserver_cs_asd.pdf", page 102) and there are many samples
    on the Devcenter
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashmediaserver/
If you're not publishing from a camera, and your FLV files
are already there, there's actually no need to stream these flvs.
In that case the best is to create a web application around FMS and
provide upload capabilities which allow to upload to a directory
where these FLVs can then be streamed from. That's not really FMS
specific and depends a bit on the web server technology of your
    choice.

  • Winfile.cpp-759 error when exporting .flv files

    Hi,
Just got over the P2 file problem (stopped using them in CS5, gone back to CS4) and a new problem has occured.
I have been exporting .flv files since I first installed CS5, suddenly today Premiere crashes when trying to export individual .flv files and so does the media encoder.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

The given problem doesn't have the obvious cause. But it can be avoided.
The problem emerges after Premiere import video clips with attached audio files, while 'confoming audio'. After the conforming, the 'broken' audio files cannot be heard with playback, or incorporated in export.
There are two solutions to this problem.
First: While ripping material, or importnig previously ripped material, import separately audio and video data.
Second: If you, while working, run into audio stream that doesn't hear ( because of the given 'conforming' ), edit audio of original clip in some sound editing program ( Adobe SoundBooth, for instance ) by cuting it to new file, resampling it, saving to *.wav ( for example ) and importing it to your Premiere project, replacing the broken audio data.
That should do the trick. At least, it did it for me.
    Cheers!

  • Video freezes when exporting to Full Quality

[Background: I've been working on a video project in iMovie HD that I'm doing in pieces - exporting each section of the video at full quality when it's done, so that later I can put them all together in a new project.]
Lately I've been having major problems exporting to full quality Quicktime files. The exported video freezes a few frames in, though the audio continues to play normally. This does not happen if I save it to a smaller quality, say, Web Streaming.
I'm having trouble seeing a pattern in how/why/when this happens, too. I have successfully exported movies to full quality both before and after movies that export incorrectly. The first project that had this happen, I decided to reassemble bit by bit to find out if something specific was causing the problem. Turns out that Full Quality exporting started having this problem if I had added titles. After jumping through something like 50 hoops - exporting little pieces, reimporting, exporting just the titles, etc., etc - I managed to work around the issue. Bit of a headache but all seemed to be well.
BUT, the frozen video problem soon happened again. The next time I had this trouble exporting, there were no titles in the project at all, and the problem instead occurred once I added music. So there does not seem to be a pattern within iMovie itself. This makes me think it's either a Quicktime problem or something to do with my computer itself. I have 2GB of memory, 37GB of space left on my hard drive, and I'm running Quicktime 7.4.1 and iMovie HD 6.0.4.
Please help! I'm on a bit of a deadline, too. This is driving me crazy!

Thanks Matt. I am in the same boat as many people have obviously been in - trying to burn a DVD to a film fest deadline of tomorrow, and after 4 hours of trying to make a disk image, getting 'error during burn'.
    I have one question.
    a) In imovie, I clicked the 'create iDVD' button to create this project - which has problems burning.
    b) Now if I simply try to drag that .mov file into the iDVD pane as you suggest, is that identical to what I have done in a) - in that we're operating with the same basic animal. Of so
    c) I should try the process of exporting to .dv, reimporting to new imovie, redoing chapter markers and THEN dragging the package .mov to the iDVD pane - hoping that chapter markers are preserved.
Oh ... someone said one should try to save the .mov as a sel contained file. is that necessary?
Thank you for sitting in front of you Mac!

  • Audio quality degraded when imprting FLV file to Flash FLA

    Hi,
I have created a FLV file using Adobe Media Encoder CS5.
I have played it back on Several Media players and it sound fine.
I import it into a Scene in Flash CS5 aand when I preview the Scene the audio has degraded and sounds terrible.
The audio is mono at 48 kbps.
I cannot find any controls or options to edit the audio of the video.
I have rendered it out several times using different settings but it alway plays back the same highly compressed tinny sound.
    Any advise?

Try with your publish settings in flash to adjust your audio quality while publishing, look into the below screenshot:

  • Error message when inserting .FLV file

I have Captivate 6 and have downloaded all updates that appeared when I went to the Help menu > Updates.
I am going to Video > Insert Video and browse for my .FLV file (this is a Multi-Slide Synchronized Video). I then select "Modify slide duration to accomodate video" and click OK. I am prompted with the following error:  "Video encountered an internal error"
The .FLV file was downloaded from a Virtual Classroom recording in Adobe Connect and is 49,329 KB.
Can anyone help me with this?

    Hi Vikram -
    Thank you for your reply.
    I have  version 6.0.1.240
I receive the same error when I try to insert the video as an Event Video
The error happens in all projects. I have tried several blank projects, and a few existing to test it out.
Below is a screenshot of the options I select when inserting a video, along with a screenshot of the error message I receive after clicking OK.

  • Video freezes when recording

video freezes and stops recording causing me to miss many important moments.  I have to close the app and reopen before starting up recording again.  Has anyone else had this issue and is there a fix?  It started a few weeks ago when every time I hit the red record button, the app would close.  i ended up recording that day in slow mo because  I couldn't get the regular video to work at all.  Now it has happened 4 different times that I'll be recording and the screen either goes gray or just freezes and I have to close out the app and go back in to start recording again.  Help!

My problem was caused by my manual editing of the smtube.ini file.

  • Video freezes when switching from window mode to full screen mode

I have seen repeatedly that when I play a video (downloaded via iTunesU) and try to switch to the fullscreen view, the video freezes at the frame I hit "fullscreen" on. The audio, and the file, however, continue to play but the video is frozen. To fix this, I have to keep hitting Pause/Play for the video to resume. It also happens when I go back to windowed mode.
    Any solutions?

Same problem, as soon as I 'upgraded' to 9.03.15. At first I thought it was only a problem with older videos, but as I checked out videos, even a recently downloaded TV show exhibits the problem. Some videos, however, work fine? If I play around with a problem video until I get a green screen I can get it to work.

  • Videos freeze when Ziio charges

It was a quest to find out why the videos(.avi) were freezing while playing. The frustration level was high. I unplugged the Ziio from the charger, and no more video freezing while playing the same videos that froze when Ziio was plugged into charger. Anyone else experience this?

#I Jumped the gun. It actually froze because there are over 300 short videos I use for my job as a performer. These have lyrics and imbedded .mp3 files. After leaving it on for several minutes, the freezing went away. My conclusion: The unit is doing a search when there are so many files. This is expected for a not so fast unit. Anxious to see the next generation Ziio, hopefully with a faster processor...

  • High CPU usage when playing flv files with flash

As more and more FLV videos are moving to HD, I'm noticing
high CPU usage and lots of dropped frames when playing FLV video in
web browser with Flash 10. This is true even if the video isn't
full screen. I've tried a variety of browsers (Firefox, I.E.,
Chrome) and the problem occurs on all of them so it's pretty clear
    it's a limitation in Flash.
Now my PC isn't high end (it has a Pentium M 1.86 GHz
processor), but I can take those same FLV files and load them in
something like Media Player Classic or Windows Media Player (when
using ffdshow) and play the FLV files full screen with little or no
drop in frames and an acceptable CPU rate.
This is especially annoying on sites like YouTube where I
actually have to save the video and play it back in something other
than Flash to have it play back at an acceptable rate. This doesn't
work for other sites like Amazon.
Why is the CPU usage so high when decoding and displaying
videos when compared to other media players?

I've been doing research about this excessively high CPU usage problem (100%!) for weeks because I have also experienced it with my vista home premium laptop. Just recently, I have finally found the solution. The problem is not your browser or your OS or your pc's memory. The problem is caused by authorization for flash player.
Read the link (posted below) carefully and follow the steps accordingly. If you have already done steps 1 through 6 with your computer, you can go straight to step 7.

  • Mini-DVI to VGA - online video freezes when dragged from MacBook to LCD TV

I connected my MacBook to my LCD TV this morning via Mini-DVI to VGA, and am trying to stream online video. The video works fine when the browser is on my MacBook screen, but when I drag it over to the LCD TV, the video freezes. I tried setting the screens to mirrored as well, and the video wouldn't play (on either). I'm not really sure what else to try. Any help would be appreciated!

    Try this...
With the TV connected, go into Displays Preferences and click on the Arrangement tab. You should see two blue rectangles meant to represent the two screens. One of the rectangles will have a white bar across the top, meant to represent the menu bar. Drag the small white bar from one blue rectangle to the other. This will move the real menu bar to the TV, making it the primary display. Now see if your video will play on the TV.

  • Video Freezes When Playing Locally

    Hello,
I just purchased a used 2012 Mac Mini i7 2.3GHz which has been upgraded to 16GB of RAM and has a 1TB HD and 500GB SSD, functioning as a fusion drive, and is running the most recent OS (10.10.2) with updates. While playing a video on the Fusion drive (desktop), I am experiencing random freezing where the computer is not usable and the mouse becomes the spinning wheel. The freezes last about 20-30 seconds and then the video resumes once the freeze ends. When I play videos from my connected external HD (connected via Thunderbolt or USB) I get no freezing at all, which makes me rule out the video card or processor.
    Is my fusion drive failing?
Was there possibly a cord that was damaged when the SSD installed?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. I paid top dollar for the Mac Mini and was very excited to get it. I am not worried that I may have purchased a system that has problems.
    Thank you in advance!

Open Activity monitor and set it for CP and then memory. Have it showing when yo are playing the video. When it freezes look at the CPU and Memory usase and see if something is using up those.
Also not the exact time of a freeze and that when OK open the Console app in Finder>Applications>utilities and look for log entries at the time. Post suspicious one here.
