Video In troubleshoot

hello guys... i need some help.  First, some background info on my cpu.  I have an msi kt4 board, 2200xp, and an msi ti-4200(ms-8894) 128mb vivo with the 9 pin set.  I installed all the relevant drivers from nvidia and msi, including the video capture software.
Heres my problem:
i want to hook up my xbox via the 9 pin wire so i can play my xbox with my computer monitor.  I either dont have the correct software/driver, installed improperly, or i cant find the option (i looked through properties, etc.) to allow me to do this.
On a side note, i tried installing the intervideo winproducer/wincoder that came with my card, but it asks me for a serial number.  Where is this serial number located, cause its not on the cd.
Any help or suggestions would be great.  If you have any questions for me to be more specific, please post.
Thanks in advance.

Just reinstall Divx.

Trying to edit video taken from nikon D90.    Video editor says that the file is not supported or is missing a "codec"
    Any advice?

Do you have Premiere Elements 11 as well as Photoshop Elements 11?
How are you importing your video into Premiere Elements 11 (assumed Windows)? Add Media/Files and Folders/Project Assets? Or are you moving it from the Elements Organizer into the Premiere Elements 11 Expert workspace? Does the video play back OK on any of your computer players (Premiere Elements not involved)?
Bottom line may very well be a problem with the availability of the MotionJPEG video codec to Premiere Elements.
The 3 remedies that one frequently sees:
    a. file conversion
    b. download, install of MotionJPEG codec
    c. grabbing appropriate codec from a camera utility if the camera has such a utility.
Please review and let us know if you have any further questions.
    Thanks.

  • Video card troubleshooting

In the last couple of days, I have begun having serious but intermittent (I know, I know) video artifacts on my early-2009 Mac Pro. I am running 3 displays on 2
NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 video adaptors. Basically what's happening is one of 2 phenomena: in 1, the image "shatters", or goes to pieces, with small blocks  of whatever was on the screen being scattered around the screen. Each block is maybe 3/8" wide and 5/8" tall. In the second case, moving a window around the screen leaves a trail of the border portion of the window, as though the card were having trouble keeping up... except that it doesn't then "catch up" as sometimes used to happen with older technology.
Is this a simple "fail" for which I should seek warranty replacement, or is there perhaps something that can be done to troubleshoot or further investigate first?
As background, I have not yet upgraded to Lion, so I am running OS-X 10.6.8, with weekly or better updates and so forth.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Right. I did this while I was awaiting replies. As with all things intermittant, it seems to have resolved once I re-arranged the monitor-card assignment. And then vanished for the last while.
Interestingly development, when I swapped the monitor cables. The rear fan came on quite loudly and stayed on, as it sometimes does with Mac Pros. I followed the ususal routine to fix the situation by putting the machine to sleep and waking it. After the first "fix" the fan started again after a few minutes. I repeated the fix overnight, and now both the noisy fan and the video glitches seem to have vanished like dew on the morning grass once the sun is on them. I hope this continues, though I have my doubts. A few re-starts earlier did not resolve the video glitch.
    Thanks.

  • Video port troubleshooting

    Hi,
I've just received a new mini-vga to rca/svideo adapter to replace what I tought was a faulty one. Once I plugged it to the tv, nothing happens. It seems that the computer recognises it (the screen blinks for a second when I plug the adapter), but the video won't show on the tv. I've used the same connection that worked before and checked the cables, and everything seems fine. I have to hypotheses: either my video port is failing or I don't have the right adapter. Can I test my video port to see if its working properly and would an innapropriate video adapter (like dvi to rca/s/video) fit in the mini-vga port? Thanks, waiting for your advice,
    Dan

    Hi Dan,
The mini DVI and VGA ports are slightly different so one wouldn't fit in the other. Your iBook came with Apple hardware Test on the disk. Put the install disk in the drive and restart while holding the option key. Select AHT and click the straight arrow to access the test.

  • Online video playback is severally laggy/choppy on my macbook pro 2011?

hey guys, got a bit of an issue here. I've been noticing some SEVERE lagging issues whilst viewing online (streaming) video, from various sites, including, novamov, youtube, and others. the videos rarely stop to buffer as i have a fast connection, but yet they still seem to lag wildly. what i mean by this, is the sound will continue as normal, the the picture will freeze sometimes for a good 5 seconds or so before resuming, this is happening increasingly more and more..
i am running Mac OSX Lion (latest Update) on my:
    MacBook Pro
    17-inch, Early 2011
Processor 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB
    Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 (11D50b)
If it helps my hard drive space is:
    Macintosh HD
    Capacity: 664 GB
    Available: 179.79 GB
The browser i am using is the latest version of Safari, although i have tried firefox and chrome and i experience the same issue.
I have Sophos anti-virus installed and run regular scans on my system (all clear)
i really can't think of anything else which could be causing an issue here. I haven't installed any additional software for a while, not in the time frame since the error started to occur.
I am quite surprised to be experiencing such issues as lagging on something as simple as a youtube video when my £3000+ computer handles heavy applications such as Final cut pro and Photoshop with ease...
i MUST be missing something here,
I really would appreciate any help i can get here.
thankyou very much for your time

    Hi Ben...
I am quite surprised to be experiencing such issues as lagging on something as simple as a youtube video
Try troubleshooting the Flash plugin required for most YouTube video.
Quit all open browsers. I'm using Safari as a test.
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Storage tab. Click: Delete All
Now uninstall the Flash plugin then reinstall new >  Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
Make sure and uninstall the current plugin first.
Then launch Safari. From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty Cache
    Now try a video.
BTW... if you have the ClickToFlash extension installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.
And check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to:  Open in 32 bit mode  is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari.

  • How to get rid of black screen when playing videos

  • How can I d/load videos now?

After following all recovery routines I could research - incl. blank profile restart, re-installing Video Download helper, installing two other d/loaders, and obviously restarting firefox each time - I still can't get any extension add-on to download videos in Firefox. Video DownloadHelper has worked for years, until yesterday! And I haven't installed any new programs apart from the two d/loaders above, or visited 'weird sites'.
Using Firefox Profile Manager, I could get VD-H to recognise and download 20-sec. commercials that preceded the Youtube videos I wanted - but NO recognition at all of the main video!
With a normal Firefox launch, the VD-H icon is present as a gray, inactive icon, even when videos are playing. I have followed all Video Downloadhelper troubleshooting routines. I have also, as I said, tried other Extensions from the Firefox site, without success, whatever sites I attempt to download from.
Can you suggest anything I could try?

I am having problems downloading from DownloadHelper as well. It was all going fine the past couple of days then, all of a sudden, the DLH stopped working, the icon goes silent, nothing... not even downloading a YouTube video.
I have installed the latest Adobe Flash Player (15), checked to make sure that my cookies and history are cleared, uninstalled FF and re-installed version 3.1, and still can't get DownloadHelper to work.
Is there a bug in the program?
I'm using FF on Windows 8.1
    Any help can be appreciated?

  • Why will Divx not play video with sound on Firefox but will play with sound on Chrome?

Divx will play web based movies with both sound and audio on Chrome.
Divx will only play video on Firefox.
I have removed and reinstalled Divx on my computer.
I have a desktop computer running Vista.
I just became aware of this problem yesterday. In the past I have had no problem running these videos on Firefox with both sound and video.

I was having this problem with videos at home yesterday as well.
I also saw this conversation [http://veehd.com/forum/viewtopic?f=523714] and it may be a codec issue? No one confirmed this yet.

    Hi Daniel,
Azure unloads your site if it is idle for the standard 20 minute timeout, which can cause slow responses for the initial site users after it is unloaded.  Enabling Always On essentially causes Azure to automatically ping your site periodically to ensure
that it remains in a running state.  Always on is not an available option on lower end plans.
However in Basic or Standard mode, you can enable Always On to keep the app loaded all the time.
It is not a known issue, I suppose in theory it could consume more CPU cycles and thus could require the deployment of more infrastructure.
Couple of things you might want to check :
    - Increase the Instance count
    - Check the Monitor Tab in Azure Website to see how much of CPU, DataIN and Data Out time is taken for a request to the site.

  • PE 7 memory and export errors

In Premiere Elements ver 7, I have put together a 4 1/2 minute video made up of mpeg4 HD 720p mixed with regular avi digital footage. I am having memory errors and export errors when trying to render into a wmv or mpeg file.  When working on previous videos with non-HD footage, I didn't have these issues. I also recently put together a 1 minute mpeg4 HD 720p video rendered into HD 720p wmv file without any issues.
    1) memory errors - I got these when I was putting the video together and when rendering. After a lot of restarting the PC and reworking the video, I was able to finally complete in pre-render format.  It includes music soundtrack and transitions/effects.
    Here are my PC's specs:
Dell Inspiron 530 with Intel Quad Core CPU 2.66Ghz processor
    4 GB RAM
    32 bit OS
    Windows Vista SP1
When rendering, I get the "caution - low memory, save your work" message. I have since set the virtual memory paging file size per Technote kb404939.  This seems to have helped a little bit but still getting the message even though it continues to render....but then I get the export error message....
    2) Export errors - I first tried to render into a wmv HD 720p 30fps file. In the first 1 of 2 rendering phase, I got the "Export Error - failed to return a frame - cancelling operation" message. I checked for gaps in the timeline and there are none. Even though I do have some black space/dip to black sequences, I can "page down" through the entire movie without any pauses or hiccups with the CTI (Current Time Indicator).
I then tried to render into a smaller wmv LAN speed file, and it went through the first 1 of 2 phases rendering (with the low memory message but it kept on going). Just after it started into the 2 of 2 rendering phase, I got an error message saying "Export Error - Unknown Error".
What to do? I'm very frustrated at this point after a great deal of time invested in this video and troubleshooting the issues. Please help. Thanks.

What are the sources of your video? What types of camcorders did this video come from?
Premiere Elements supports AVCHD video, but does not work well with video from Flip and webbie camcorders, which use proprietary codecs. They can also use non-standard frame rates. Conversion is usually necessary before the files can be edited in Premiere Elements.
And does your DV footage come from a miniDV camcorder captured over FireWire? And what project settings are you using in Premiere Elements.
I would also not recommend mixing HD and DV footage in the same project. This could also be contributing to your problems.
I also recommend you visit Windows Update and manually download any (even non-critical) updates. Vista should be at least on SP2. You may also want to download the latest version of Quicktime.

  • Always on doesn't appear to work properly after downgrade from Standard to Basic

I was running a Standard tier setup for my webapps, with the always on option set to "on" without issue - sites would respond almost immediately even after not having been accessed for more than the 20 minute sleep period of the lower subs.
However, since I downgraded to basic (due to simply not making use of any of the extra features) I've found that my sites seem to take a while to load again after a period of inactivity. I've double checked the always-on option and it is on, and I've also
tried turning it off and on again.
Is this a known issue and does anyone have any suggested solutions?
    Thanks, Daniel.

  • Output 1440p through MDP to HDMI 2?

    Hello there,
I have a mid 2011 27" iMac, and I recently bought an LG 4k TV. I have everything (iMac, Xbox, cable TV, bluray) running through an Onkyo TX-NR636, which is a 4K AV reciever, and then one HDMI cable runs to the TV. It's all very fancy.
MY question is this: If I have 4k capability in my receiver, tv, and correct HDMI 2 cables; why does my iMac only output 1080p resolution in dual screen?
Now, I'm very aware that I won't get a 4K out of it, but I was at least hoping for an iMac equivalent of 1440p, so what am I missing?
    Thanks

    Hi ddp86,
Sorry to hear you're having problems with your new machine. Troubleshooting this issue can be a little difficult for a couple of reasons:
1.) As you're using a 3rd party adapter, Apple technically doesn't support the configuration. While it SHOULD work just fine, if it doesn't then you can't call Apple or visit a Genius Bar for assistance.
2.) Have you tried the adapter with another TV to take that out of the equation? From a troubleshooting perspective, if you had a MiniDisplay Port to DVI or VGA adapter (one of Apple's) that would also be helpful in troubleshooting. Then we could determine if it's the Moshi adapter, the TV or the machine itself.
My vote, in supporting issues like this, is to try a different adapter. You can always bring in the computer to the Apple Store, every Genius bar I've visited is equipped to offer support with portable computer / video adapter troubleshooting.
