Creating a video rewind button

Hello,
I'm using the FLVPlayback component and I need a rewind button. I don't want it to go back to the beginning of the video, only go back a couple of seconds everytime the button is pressed.
Any help would be appreciated.

i'm not sure what you mean by "clunky and awkard" but i see no problems when using the seek method. use the trace() function to see if you can pinpoint your problem.
p.s. going back only 5 seconds is not likely to be satisfactory unless you expect users to repeatedly and rapidly click the rewind button.

Dual Radeon video card -- Second card Unknown/4th monitor

My initial plan was to use four monitors on my Radeon HD 6790 as follows:
1 Single-link DVI-D = monitor1 dvi
1 Dual-link DVI-I = monitor2 dvi
1 Display Port = monitor3 dvi with adapter
1 HDMI = new monitor
This did not work as I could not use the hdmi port with the second dvi plugged in so I decided to buy a second cheaper ati card (the 6450) to power the fourth monitor. Well of course that did not work as well since the 2nd video card was identified as UNKNOWN via the Ctalyst control Center(amdcccle).
This is how I currently have my monitors plugged in:
6790 (Main card):
1x dvi
1x dvi via DisplayPort
1x hdmi
6450 (Secondary card):
1x dvi
I tried for two days to get the second card identified by the Catalyst driver and I ended up borking my system in the process. So now I am on week two of getting this setup to work with no avail so I decided to post a new thread.

Notice the fourth monitor is labeled as "1-Default monitor" instead of hdmi (or whatever) and the second card is not listed.
I am literally at my wit's end trying to figure this out. So basically I am wondering if anyone has a clue where to begin trying to get the 2nd video card identified or is it even possible with the current Catalyst driver? I know my hardware can power it fine as it works perfectly on my Windows gaming partition.

I have it working now using catalyst-total but with separate X sessions on each monitor. Not the ideal setup but it works for now.

Flex starting the video every second

So I need some help, badly...
I have a flex video player setup, and it's working great as
long as I am pulling a video from the local drive like so:
this.myVideoDisplay.source = "assets/media/testvidflash.flv";
This plays great, works great, looks great... However if I
change that single line of code to:
this.myVideoDisplay.source =
"rtmp://mydomain.com/media/video/public/testvidflash.flv";
Then I get the video playing, but every second or so it
starts another copy of the video in the background and I get this
ever increasing echo.
As best we can tell, the video file on the rtmp works fine in
every other flash player we have tested, and I can create a new swf
in CS3 and it works fine.
Does anyone have any ideas?

I have a couple of more questions:
1. When you say the network capability, you mean the viewer side or the server side?
2. I read somwhere that the fms 3,5 has a feature of recognizing the users end speed and automatically adjusting the strem rate. So, it's eather I misunderstood the meaning of it, or this feature needs to be "switched on" somehow?

Video 0 seconds

I have always had problems with my Mac and Videos. I have had many videos all decreased to a few kb in size and play for 0 seconds...... after having them in storage for months or years in my Mac´s hard drive. Now I don´t think I can recover these messed up files.
Please help me understand why this keeps happening to my video files and what I can do to prevent it of fix it. I would vey much appreciate it.

In as much as no one here is at your MBP we would have no idea what happened to your videos. Have you tried running them?

Lost Video For Second Movie Clip When Combining 2 files

Good Evening Folks,
I have two rather large home videos I am trying to combine into one. They were recorded on different disks due to time limits per disk.
Both files are in M4V format. I am combining them using Quicktime 7 (a fully registered version I purchased through Apple for just this purpose).
My process is as follows:
1. Open both files in separate Quicktime Windows
2. On the SECOND file, click "Command + C" to copy audio/video
3. On FIRST file, click the >> button to get to the end of the file
4. Hit "Command + V" to paste the data from the second file into the first
5. Save the new, combined file as a new name
NOW, when I open the NEW, combined file in Quicktime, both video and audio work perfectly, and the resulting file is 1.96 GB. BUT, when I add that file to iTunes so it can be played via my Apple TV, the file keeps video and audio for the first half, and kees AUDIO for the second half, but loses video for the second half.
Can anyone think of anything I am doing wrong, or something I can do differently to get this to work (aside from keeping two separate files - I realize that's an option, but not preferable.
Thoughts?

FYI, the final combined file is a .MOV file, not a m4v.

No video to second external monitor but recognized by system

When I connect two external monitors(22 inch AOC) using mini display adapters to VGA or USB to VGA adapter from my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013) with an Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB graphics driver and recently updated to OS X Yosemite Ver 10.10, I only have one of the external monitors showing a picture, the other is a black screen. When going to 'Displays' through settings both external monitors are recognized and shown. I can arrange them how I want. When going into 'About this Mac' and selecting 'Displays' both monitors are displayed as active. No matter which port I use and no matter which monitor I switch around it is always the same. One monitor dark and the other working but both always recognized by the system. Any ideas for me? Thanks

IOS6... How do I see the full screen when watching youtube videos and second the map quality is very poor, foggy most of the time and images overlap to each other... Can I restore to IOS6 if these problems can not be solved?

I just upgraded to IOS6 and I have some difficulties that I never had on IOS5:
How can a see the full screen when watching youtube. Address bar is always in view.
Maps are foggy and some images overlap to eachother.
If these problems can not be solved, how do I downgrade back to IOS5?

No, there is no legitimate way to downgrade iOS to an earlier version.
Be patient, Apple will eventually get around to fixing the "bugs" in iOS 6.

Deleted music video and second season of lost

i have heard that once you plug in your ipod it automatically updates your ipod and deletes whatever is in itunes how can I change my itunes from autoupdate to manual update without having my my ipod connected to my computer or is their away you can change it to manual update before it automatically updates my ipod and deletes everything on it.

when your ipod is on auto update, it will automatically start updating your songs as you know. at the top of itunes in the middle there is the screen that shows the now playing song and all that. when you plug your ipod in it will say "updating ipod" or something like that. there should be an X on the left of right of that. click that X to stop the updating. Then to turn auto update off, go to Edit at the top left of itunes, then preferences, and then click the tab that says "ipod". it will say automatically update all songs and playlists near the top, closer to the bottom it will say manually manage songs and playlists. check that box. NOTE: the ipod window that has these options will only come up when your ipod is connected. have any questions ask.

How to "hold" a title across several seconds of video?

Hi -- I'm using Imovie '08 (ver. 7.1.4) on my MacBook pro. And I'm having a problem with titles. I'd be grateful for any insights.
1a) I was able to edit a short video (30 seconds) that I made, but am
unable to have a title (1/3 down the page) that "stays" on each frame for the last 5 seconds. The title only appears as a quick blip and then disappears.
I can't see anyway in Imovie to keep the title across each frame.
1b) Perhaps if I were able to replicate a still with the title (since it's going to be the last thing in the video) for 5 seconds, that would also be useful. I want to take the last image of a section of video of imovie and extend it. Can this be done? If so, how?

Just to experiment, I tried inserting a title card with the text I wanted at the end of the short video.
Therein, I experienced the same problem I originally had: which is the title on the title card would "fade out" so the screen text would "dissolve" just as the title I added earlier would dissolve at the end.
See, what I'd like to do is leave the view with a screen that has a website and other textual info. But it seems to disappear no matter what I tried to do.
I was able, however, to get the title to appear across the clip by manipulating the bar as you suggested. It's just that last split second that I can't get.

Unable to capture video with MSI StarForce 822 GeForce 3!

I have a MSI StarForce 822 GeForce3 graphics card with 64 MB DDR SDRAM on it. I have VGA Out, as well as TV-out (AV), TV-out (S-video), and TV-in(?) (S-video).
This brings me to two questions:
First, I have NEVER been able to figure out how to use the TV-in (S-video) port. I have tried numerous programs designed to capture video, including the one that came with the graphics card, and none of them recognize the card's TV-in. Do you have any recommendations as to how to use this port to capture video?
Second, in reading through the online manual for the graphics card on the company's website (under the name G3 Pro-VT64D MS-8822), I saw that the card supposedly has the capability of "High-quality HDTV/DVD playback" (8822 v2.0.pdf, page 8 ). However, in playing back DVD's through the card's s-video output onto my HDTV-ready monitor, I definately do not see HD quality videos. Could explain why this is the case?
I have an assignment coming up where I must do some video-editing work, and thus I am posed with a situation where I need to capture video using this card (and I can't afford to buy something new for the moment).

If you have the Video Capture Driver installed then the video capture program should see it. On MSI site version 1.16 of the driver is available for download.
If you still have problems (e.g. too many frames lost) you can try using Virtual VCR (worked best in my case).

Premiere Elements 7: track matte key video effect does not work?

I want to use the track matte key video effect to fade out some cropped video clips. So I did a test:
first track: video clip
second track: PNG file, black with white circle
third track: video clip with FX with second track (here: Video 5) and luminance
As you can see in the picture the small preview pic above the effects shows the effect like I expected: a circle with the content of the third, lowest, clip. But the large video preview shows the first clip.
What did I do wrong?
I tested other settings and track orders. No efforts.

But I can't help. The white area stays (see screenshot top left corner). Only some of the small blurred area around the shape shines through as I could see playing around without blurring the video clip.
I used:
title with white (it is 100% white) shape and blur effect above
video clip with track matte effect and matte alpha on the title track, reversed (blur effect on whole clip like in the tutorial)
Rendering and export does not change anything.
I'm feeling a bit stupid.

Videos won't download properly from my digital camera

I recently bought a 7.2 megapixel digital camera and on any of the video settings that I record a video, the videos don't import properly into iPhoto. The thumbnail in iPhoto is just a black square and it shows the length of the video in seconds. when I click on it to play in quicktime, all i see is a white screen. In the Finder, the thumbnail is a white box. In QuickTime, the sound works fine, just no images. Any ideas???

check your camera specs and see what the file type is of the video clips.
How long are your video clips?
Have you tried using Image Capture and see if the clips download correctly?
Using Image Capture to download images and video clips:
Open up Image Capture which is found in the Applications folder.
When it is opened, go to Image Capture/Preferences
Under the General button choose
Camera: When a camera is connected, open Image Capture.
The next time you connect your camera Image Capture will open.
In the window that opens you will see an Options button. Click on that button to set your options.
To find out more about Image Capture (it can do a lot more) Click on Help in the menu bar when Image Capture is open.

I just got a new Canon S2 IS. It can take a video for as long as you have a card that can hold it. I don't use iPhoto to download from from camera. I use Image Capture and have no problems. The file type of the videos is AVI

How can you share a large (HUGE) video?

I created a 1:07:21 iMovie that is comprised of 3 short videos (20 seconds each) and LOTS of photos with an audio track of music. I was able to make a DVD of the iMovie but I have not been able to share it on You Tube or any other site. I have accounts with You Tube that will let me upload very large video files, but it's still not working. Any suggestions? My goal is to share the higher quality iMovie v. the DVD that has lower quality pictures (i.e. not HD). Thanks!

If you are uploading directly from iMovie and that doesn't work try just exporting your project to a format and then uploading it to the YouTube site.
