Videodownload stops (err 50)

Hi, I am trying to download a movie and watch it. At 3,79 of 3,8 GB the download stops (Err 50), and when I resume, it starts from the beginning again - to stop at the same point. I've watched the movie now until about 10 minutes to the end, then it stops, presumably because it has not been loaded completely. Any idea? Thanks,
Stef99

  • Errors while downloading purchases 'stopped (err = -3253)'.

I am hoping someone here can offer some help to this problem I am having.
I have had my Mac for over three years and through out this time I have purchased and downloaded a lot of films and music with absolutly no problem.  For over a month now I have been unable to download getting the error 'stopped (err = -3253)'.
I have been intouch with the iTunes store team who say there is no issue there end and have suggested a few things to try but nothing works.  They claim there is a problem with my internet connection.  However I fail continiously to download any large film (small file like song can download with the odd error) to my mac yet I can download the same to my Iphone, stream to my apple TV without fault.  I can also stream internet radio to my mac with iTunes.  I can also use all other internet services on any device without issue including my mac.  I only downloaded some software (about 6.5GB) a few days ago.
Based on this I feel the fault is with iTunes but cannot find the cause.  Steps I have tried include:
    1. Complete shutdown of everything in house.
    2. Use of Ethernet over WiFi.
    3. Creating a new libary.
    4. Signing in and out of iTunes Store.
    5. Added Mac to DMZ on Router
    6. Disabelling Firewall
    7. Changing DNS to various others aswell as my ISP's
I am a little lost what I can check from here.  I plan to visit a friends to attempt to download on their internet connection to rule mine out completly and will update here how this goes.  In the mean time perhaps some of the good people here may have some suggestions.
Thank you all in advance and I hope this will help anyone else encountering the same issues.

Hi, my name is Ralph and I been having this problem for about a month now.   I already contacted apple senior tech about the error code 3253 . They went through all the trouble shooting they had to find out that my computer was ok.  They escalated this to the engineers at iTunes.  I finally got an answer from them after they did the trouble shooting and had to send them a file from my computer while iTunes was downloading and error out .   Listen carefully.    It's not your computer or router or anything.   The problem is at iTunes and there right now investigating this problem.   So relax and hopefully they fix it soon.   I hope this has help you out. :)

After several attempts at "Check for Purchases", after several reboots, these two songs will not download. Any ideas on what to try next?

The iTunes Store has always worked flawlessly for me. Since upgrading to Snow Leopard and iTunes 9, I've had three issues with downloading purchases, once with a music track and twice with apps. iTunes says that the download failed "because the file is corrupt".
Also, iTunes 9 crashes two or three times a day now, and it's always been rock solid in the past.
The support guys immediately ask me to reinstall iTunes 9. Lame. I've tried reinstalling iTunes 9 and also did a clean install of Snow Leopard upgrade on top of a clean install of Leopard - MAJOR HASSLE. Still having the same problems, most recently this morning.
Apple is really screwing up here. iTunes purchases are impulse buys, and if they get to be a hassle I'll just go elsewhere. WAKE UP, YOU ARE LOSING MONEY.
It's particularly irritating to have to deal with overseas support people with a marginal grasp of the english language when we have 10% unemployment here.

  • While downloading purchased items, message pops 'There was an error downloading some purchased items stopped err = 3259'

While downloading purchased items, message pops 'There was an error downloading some purchased items stopped err = 3259'

You'll have to check your security software settings, iTunes has to be able to connect to Apple servers during the download process.

  • Unable to download purchase. stopped (err = -48).  Any help on this?

I purchased an entire season of a TV show.  I was able to purchase, but I get the following error when I go to download to my PC (Windows 7):  stopped (err =-48).  It threw a -50 once, but the troubleshooting for that error didn't solve the problem. I was to delete a folder that didn't exist.
Any ideas?  This is new problem and I have had no issues in the past downloading music, movies, TV, etc...
    Thanks

Please explain how to do that. Are you telling her to create another Apple ID? That would complicate things for her considerably.

  • HT203174 Anyone getting this error message: stopped (err = 12004)? If so, please help.

I've subscribed to The Art of Wrestling with Colt Cabana.
I'm located in Canada, and that shouldn't be an issue.
I'm trying to download episodes, but they won't download.
I'm getting this message in the status:
         stopped (err = 12004)
I need to know how to fix this.
    Thank you.

When attempting to download a podcast I get an error message "stopped err=404.  How can I find out what err=404 is?

404 is a http status code meaning it could not find the link, presumably the subscription link is down or has moved.

  • Sellective Songs Timed Out / stopped (err = -3259)

I can download some iTunes w/ no problems, but certain songs keep giving me problems. I just can not get them to download. I buy the song and it will time out. I get a popup error that says "There was a problem downloading "Name of Song" The nework connection timed out." Under status it says "stopped (err = -3259)". It's really frustrating because not all of the songs I buy do this, only certain ones. I can exit iTunes, go to the Downloads section, pull the songs up, and try to resume; but they just error out again.
This is my work computer and I'm leary of messing w/ settings and firewalls because I don't have much knowledge of what I'm doing. Can someone please help me? The more detailed the instructions the better.
    All help is appreciated.

    USB 2.0 ...
when iphone not plugged in can still seem to 'resume' the download in itunes -> store -> downloads -> iPhone software update. Still having same problem though... managed to get as far as 15Mb, thats it.
Virgin Broadband 3G (Optus 3G) which is known to be flaky (# of drop-outs) but why wouldn't itunes/apple have a download manager that allows downloads to keep downloading during internet connection short interupts. If I click 'pause' in the downloads screen, it goes back to 0Mb downloaded... so resume/pause doesn't work. Have probably tried over 20 times now...

  • What does it mean "stopped (err = -3259)"

    Im trying to Chruch Media Design Tv podcast. But I cant. When I try to Subscribe Im always getting this error;
"There was a problem downloading " Church Media Design TV".
    The network connection timed out.
    And when I choose specific videos, podcast trying to connect than give me this error;
    stopped (err = -3259)
I talk to provider and he said there is no problem! What am I do? What is that mean all this errors?

Well, I subscribed to the podcast from that link, and downloaded and played the latest episode without any difficulty at all. Which doesn't really get us any further: you can download everything except that podcast, it would seem, and I can download it; so there is nothing wrong with the podcast but no global (widespread) fault at your end.
The only oddity I can see is in his 'enclosure' tags, e.g.
    <enclosure url="http://feeds.churchmediadesign.tv/~r/churchmediadesign/~5/TgUCgiNIrzk/Cmdt v-ep125976.mp4" length="1" type="video/mp4" />
Where it says 'length' this should be the file size in bytes; you will notice he says '1' - 1 byte... - if you were using a different operating system from mine (I'm on 10.6.6) I would wonder whether that version if iTunes was taking the 1 byte literally and stopping downloading on that. Are you using iTunes 10? I don't know what iTunes 9 would do - iTunes 10 has no difficulty with it for me.
You could try contacting the author again and asking him to put the correct value in and see whether that helps.

  • Error message stopped (err= -61)

I was trying to download some tracks into my itunes account and when I tried doing that it stopped all of my downloads and said, "stopped(err= -61)" This is under the status section of the songs I was trying to download.

Your post mentioning EHD's as having something to do with it was the clue for me. My library resides on a G-Tech (Hitachi) external. I had tried logging in/logging out and deauthorizing/reauthorizing, ran applejack and cleared caches - nothing worked. Quit itunes, unmounted my EHD, turned it on and off, remounted, and presto! Everything's downloading fine.
