View all rows

Hi,
I want to view all rows of a workbook in Discoverer Desktop but I can't. I have a worksheet where I can view 10000 rows. But when I select Sheet --> Count all rows the answer is 83165.
How can I view the rest of rows? I have the Sheet --> View all rows option disabled.
Thanks.

Hi there,
Look at Tools-->Options-->Query Governor. The "Limit retrieved date to" is set to 10,000. Change as required or de-select the option.

John

  • Vertical Scroll bars in analysis - View all rows

    Users want to see the whole report displayed in one page with only a vertical scroll bar. They do not want the up/down arrows. Is this possible in OBIEE?
    Thanks.

    To implement the solution, please do:
    1. Change instanceconfig.xml file in <biee11g_install>\instances\instance1\config\OracleBIPresentationServicesComponent\coreapplication_obips1 as following
    <Views>
    <Pivot>
    <!--This Configuration setting is managed by Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Manager-->
    <DefaultRowsDisplayedInDelivery>75</DefaultRowsDisplayedInDelivery>
    <!--This Configuration setting is managed by Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Manager-->

    <MaxVisibleRows>500000</MaxVisibleRows>
    <MaxVisibleSections>5000</MaxVisibleSections>
    </Table>
    </Views>
    3. Note the new elements added are the following to both <Pivot> and <Table>, the Pivot part controls Pivot view, and Table part controls Table View, my testing was done with Table View.
    <MaxVisiblePages>2500</MaxVisiblePages>
    <MaxVisibleRows>500000</MaxVisibleRows>
    <MaxVisibleSections>5000</MaxVisibleSections>
    4. Restart Presentation Server from EM, then run your request, do excel export to verify.

  • Update all rows in a View Column via one Apex Form field

    Appreciate any helpful answers to this query.
    I have an Apex App (4.x) where I have a view: PRICE_MODEL_CRA_V
    In the view, I have the following applicable columns:
    COUNTRY
    GRADE
    SALARY
    In the form I have the following fields
    :P16_COUNTRY (DROPDOWN)
    :P16_GRADE (DROPDOWN)
    :P16_SALARY (Number)
    In my app, I have a form with an Update button. I am simply trying to get Apex to update all rows in the salaray column in the view, where the country and grade match.
    I've the following code for the Update button:
    UPDATE PRICE_MODEL_CRA_V
    SET SALARY = :P16_SALARY
    WHERE COUNTRY = :P16_COUNTRY
    AND GRADE = :P16_GRADE
    The option I have chosen in condition type is:
    Value of Item / Column expression is NOT Null (as there are values in the column)
    Also tried SQL Expression and it does not like..says that there is No Expression.
    Thanks again if anyone can help :)

    Hi,
    Sorry I realize now that piece of information was not well supported.
    If I choose SQL Expression for Condition Type in my Form Page and I try to Apply Changes
    Apex says this..
    •Failed to parse SQL query!
    ORA-00936: missing expression
    I was assuming that I need to have the colon for the items in the form where I am wanting Apex to grab the values entered by the user. I tried them without the colons with the SQL Expression condition and same result.
    UPDATE PRICE_MODEL_CRA_V
    SET SALARY = P16_SALARY
    WHERE COUNTRY = P16_COUNTRY
    AND GRADE = P16_GRADE
    I did put 1-1/0 in my expression field and applied changes and then tried ot submit the form and it does not produce an error, so perhaps it is not being called? Where would I start with troubleshooting that?
    Thanks,

  • Can't View All Records if Max Row Count is null

    Hi,
    There are over 2500 records in a table and if Max Row Count is set to nothing in report attributes, the user is restricted to view only 500 records. And If Max Row Count is set more than 2500 then user is able to view all records but taking more time to display report.
    What to do to minimise process time and allow user to view all the records. ?
    Pagination Scheme : Row Ranges X to Y of Z (with pagination)
    Number of Rows : 100
    Number of Rows (Item) :     <empty>
    Max Row Count :           <empty>
    Thanks,
    Ven.

    Hi Ven,
    Apex restricts the number of rows returned by a report to 500 by default. You can change this by setting the Max Row Count. Apex does this so that the amount of data returned over the network to the browser is kept to a reasonable amount. The reason it is done this way is because a user in apex does not maintain a stateful connection to the database and as a result, rows returned from a query can not be cached in the database and fetched as required.
    From a usability point of view, I'm not sure why a user would want 2500+ rows returned to a screen. They would have to scroll and paginate to find anything of use and network bandwidth would get chewed up in the process. Why not provide the users with query options so that the number rows returned to the browser is restricted to a more manageable amount? If the users require a full hardcopy of the data then you can handle this with csv and pdf options.

    Andre

  • Problem with "Uncommited changes" when viewing certain rows in detail group

    Hi Guys,
    When I try to view an row in a detail group I get a popup box saying that there's uncommitted changes. This will happen even when there's no changes in the master group. It will also happen for all rows in the detail group except for the first row listed.
    e.g.:
    Master Group is department
    Detail group is employees
    The detail group will display:
    Employee 1
    Employee 2
    Employee 3...
    If I select to view the details for employee 1 it will go to the form view without any problems, if I select any other row (2,3,4..) I get a popup box warning that there's uncommitted changes on the current page.
    If I go into the form view of employee 3 (confirming that there's uncommitted changes on the current page as I do) and then use the breadcrumbs to go back to the department screen then Employee 3 is the only detail group row I can go into without getting the uncommitted changes popup.
    How is it possible that different rows in a detail group can cause this popup to happen?
    I am using JDev 10.1.3.2
    and the pages where generated by JHS 10.1.2.26
    Is it possible that when the radio button that is used to select a detail group is changed that this is showing up as an uncommitted change in the javascript?
    I need a fix for this urgently so a fast response would be greatly appreciated
    Bar

    Im using a custom method to stack the detail groups and Im missing the line that adds the radio button to the ignore list:
    #if (${JHS.service.generateJavaScript})
    <afh:script text="addToIgnoreChangedFields(['${group.name}:${group.name}Table:selected']);" id="${group.shortName}IgnoreChangedFields"/>
    #end
    is there a certain place to add this in the template?

    Hello.. I´m using Jdev 10.1.3.2
    I have a table with 5 columns and N rows.
    I need to create a backing bean method to count the value of all rows of a specifc column.
    I use
    JUCtrlValueBindingRef selectedRowData= (JUCtrlValueBindingRef)myTable().getSelectedRowData();
    to get an attribute from a selected row. but How can get from all rows?
    Thank you
    Vandré

    Hi Vandré
    I think this example of Steve Muench will help you.
    "Recalc Sum of Salary at the View Object Level
    This example illustrates a technique where a transient attribute of a view object is updated to reflect the total sum of some attribute of all the rows in the view object's default row set. The code to recalculate the sum of the salary is in the getSumOfSal() method in the EmpViewImpl.java class. The custom EmpViewRowImpl.java class for the view row implements the getter method for the SumOfSal attribute by delegating to this view object method. The EmpViewImpl class extends a base DeclarativeRecalculatingViewObjectImpl class that contains some generic code to enable declaratively indicating that one attribute's change should recalculate one or more other attributes. The EmpView defines the "Recalc_Sal" property to leverage this mechanism to recalculate the "SumOfSal" attribute. If you restrict the VO's results using the BC Tester tool, you'll see the sum of the salaries reflects the subset. If you add a new row or delete an existing row, the sum of sal is updated, too."

    Do you also as a librarian for an overview of all the books? :-)
    Have you any idea how much information, knowledge, bug-reports, questions, patch-lists, documentation etc..etc. is on Metalink?
    That would give you a list of millions of rows. And how do you want them sorted, by version, by OS, by what??

  • Downloading All Rows in OBIEE 11g

    Hi all,
    I'm just starting using OBIEE 11g, and found out the difference between 11g and 10g on the downloading of query result from the Answers.
    In OBIEE 10g:
    (1) Default rows shown in the table view is 25.
    (2) Clicking on "show all rows" will show all available rows.
    (3) Downloading to Excel will download all available rows, no matter what I'm currently seeing. So even if I'm seeing row 1-25, all available rows will be downloaded; if I'm seeing row 100-125, all available rows will be downloaded; and so forth.
    In OBIEE 11g:
    (a) Default rows shown in the table view is 25.
    (b) Clicking on "show all rows" will only shows 500 rows.
    (c) Downloading to Excel will only download the rows which are currently shown. So if I'm seeing row 1-25, that's all that will be downloaded; if I'm seeing row 501-1001, that's all that will be downloaded; and so forth.
    I've looked at some blogs about this, and found out that it is possible to increase the number of maximum rows shown by adding <MaxVisibleRows>500000</MaxVisibleRows> and changing <DefaultRowsDisplayedInDownload>500000</DefaultRowsDisplayedInDownload> in the instanceconfig.xml file. It solved the problem (b) above. So now, clicking on "show all rows" will show 500000 rows. It's not really show all rows, but it should be enough.
    However, problem (c) still exists. I can only download all rows after clicking "show all rows" first. It means, I will have to show the maximum 5000000 rows first so that I can download them. Which is different from 10g, as mentioned in point (3) above.
    I'd like to be able to download all available rows without having to show all the rows first. Because if I have to show all the rows first, when there are a lot of records, it will make the browser hang. Is it possible to achieve the same method as what was done in 10g? Any advice?
    Thank you very much.

  • View object Rows

    Hi,
    I am extending an OAF page. In which I am trying to get access to all the rows of a view object. This view object is used in an advance table. The advance table shows me 15 rows. 10 rows at a time(Advance table functionality).
    Now when I write this code, it return me 15 as a result.
    String.valueOf(vo.getRowCount()But when I try to run this code to iterate to each and every row, it just returns me 10 rows.
    AwardLineVOImpl vo = (AwardLineVOImpl)am.findViewObject("AwardLineVO");
    AwardLineVORow vorow = (AwardLineVORow)vo.getCurrentRow();
         while(vo.hasNext()){
            vorow = (AwardLineVORow)vo.next();
            oapagecontext.putDialogMessage(new OAException(vorow.getBidNumber()));
         }I want to know how can I get access to all the rows in the view object. As I can see the advance table shows 10 rows at a time. And when you click next, the next 10 rows are shown.
    Regards,
    B

    The "row state" is only meant for entity object rows, not for view object rows.
    For further details and a possible solution, please check How to identify inserted/modified row(s) in a VO
    (Not related) Mr. "73012", I noticed you posted lots of answers on this forum lately. Nice of you that you want to help, but much too often (IMHO) you are not explicit enough to provide a useful solution. Or, sometimes, not quite attentive to the question...
    If you are an Oracle employee, please take a bit more time to read the question; and maybe make your name public... If not, the same ;)

  • Navigation issue in an analysis expanded to All Rows

    I have noticed strange behavior in OBIEE 11.1.1.3 when navigating from analyses which are expanded to All Rows.
    For example: when the user navigates (collapses) a parent object in a hierarchy the expanded analysis reloads and returns to the default view of 25 rows, so the user has to expand it to All Rows again to be able to scroll down to the place of drilling.
    Is there a way to keep the expanded view when navigating from analyses displayed in All Rows?
    Changing the default number of records displayed per page in the instanceconfig.xml file doesn't solve the problem.

    After upgrading OBIEE to 11.1.1.6 version this issue still remains, but it is 'masked' with the larger bug in the Navigation in Parent Child Hierarchy.
    Does anyone know if this 'object expanding' from All Rows and reload to the default view of 25 rows has been registered as a bug?
    Is it included in one of the patches available for 11.1.1.6?

  • Count ALL rows in databases

    Hi experts!
    I need the total number of ROWS in EACH database i have (All schema)
    I've tried this for each DB
    select sum(num_rows)
    from sys.dba_tables
    where owner like '%%'
    i obtain the number of all rows for all schema in database.
    I have many database, i use agent g10.0 and enterprice manager to query them.
    I
    've seen that in Enterprise Manager, when you select a Database Istance, then go on "administration" tab, and u click on TABLES link, you can see number of rows and last time the table was analyzed. How are they have been calculated? With table dba_tables? How can i query to obtain these values?

    > I know it's a stupid task but my boss wants this info :(
    Tell him two gazillion. Also tell him that the gazillion scale has been specifically created for managers like him with heads firmly stuck up the back side.
    Anyway, here's some sample code. Note that you cannot use DBA_TABLES view. Object tables are not listed in there and they can contain rows (obviously). There is also the case of dealing with case and "weirdly" names tables - thus double quotes are needed.
    I only did the first 10 tables.. It is stupid to just one, never mind all of them in database...

  • Select ALL rows in ALV by an ACTION

    Hi All -
    Is possible to have a button with an Action "select all" and when the user trigger that action all the records in the ALV are selected?
    i.e ALV has 10 records (lines or rows) and user click on a button with text "SELECT ALL" and once they click that button all the rows/lines are selected.
    Thanks!
    Jason P-V

    Hi ,
    yes it can be done....
    here is the procedure to do it.....
    first we need to make the context node "selection" property equals to "0..n"  you can find this property at your component controller level.....where you set your "cardinality" as well...
    than create a button in your view layout where the alv is being displayed and write the following code for button action:
    DATA lo_nd_alv_table TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_node.
    navigate from <CONTEXT> to <alv_table> via lead selection
       lo_nd_alv_table = wd_context->get_child_node( name = wd_this->wdctx_alv_table ).
    DATA counter TYPE i.
      counter =   lo_nd_alv_table->get_element_count( ).
      DO counter TIMES.
          lo_nd_alv_table->set_selected(
        EXPORTING
        index = sy-index ).
      ENDDO.
    I just tested this...and it worked for me....
    Thanks...
    AS...
    Just forgot to mention....if you want to de-select them all...you can use the method:
    lo_nd_alv_table->CLEAR_SELECTION(
    the above code can be put in in the btn action method.....say you have two btns one to select all rows and one to de-select all....
    this code can go under de-select all btn action method.....
