I am trying to build an EXE from a customer's code. They use the analysis library (NI_AALBase.lvlib).
It runs fine on my dev machine. When I build the EXE and pass it to a target machine with LVRuntime on it, I get the error:
Missing external function lvanlys.dll: Mean_head:C NI_AALBase.lvlib:Mean.vi.
I explicitly added the lvanlys library to the project. I added the library as a source file in the build. Finally I added the DLL itself to the project and as a source for the build.
Always the same error. The DLL is located in the data folder after the build. I tried to move it into the same folder as the EXE, and into the system32 folder. Nope.
I just changed the DLL's extension to dllx and tried again, and I get the same error, so it looks like it can't find it.
Do I need to register this DLL or something? Does it need a support file?

It is even more clear in the newer versions, where the minimum run time version has been renamed into web browser plugin. The description is:

Since installing LTR 5.4, which I've now upgraded to 5.6, I've encountered repeated slowness and malfunctions in operations, especially when using the Compare View function and the Tab key to open and close the right and left side panels. Such problems never arose during two years of using LTR-4 and nothing else has changed on my computer. I have a pretty simple system with only a few plug-ins, which are usually not in operation. I have 12GB of RAM in my Windows 7 PC. I could illustrate these problems with screen shots if you would tell me how to submit screen shots. Otherwise I will try to describe the problems in words.
The problem is clearly cumulative, growing worse as usage time passes. Compare View feature gradually slows down and eventually seems to choke as my work session proceeds. If I Exit LTR and re-enter and start all over, things will work normally for maybe 30 minutes, but then the Compare View feature begins to become very slow to respond. In a recent example with my screen full of thumbnails in Library mode I highlighted two images to compare. LTR started to open the Compare View screen by first having the top row of thumbnails disappear to be replaced by the "SELECT" and "CANDIDATE" words in their spaces (but no images), but Compare View never succeeded in gaining control of the screen. After some seconds the top row of thumbnails reasserted its position and the Compare View windows disappeared. But LTR kept trying to bring them back. Again the top row of thumbnails would go away, Select and candidate would reappear, try again, and give up. This went on for at least 2-3 minutes before I tried to choose File and Exit, but even that did not initially want to respond. It doesn't like to accept other commands when it's trying to open Compare View. Finally it allowed me to exit.
To experiment I created a new catalog of 1100 images. After 30-40 minutes, the Compare View function began to operate very slowly. With left and right side panels visible and two thumbnails highlighted, hitting Compare View can take half a minute before the two mid-size images open in their respective SELECT and CANDIDATE windows. When the side panels are open and two images are in the Select/Candidate spaces, hitting the Tab button to close the side panels produces a very delayed response--25-30 seconds to close them, a few more seconds to enlarge the two images to full size. To reverse the process (i.e., to recall the two side panels), hitting Tab would make the two sides of the screen go black for up to a minute, with no words visible. Eventually the info fields in the panels would open up.
I also created a new user account and imported a folder of 160 images. After half an hour Compare View began mis-placing data. (I have a screen shot to show this.) CANDIDATE appears on the left side of SELECT, whereas it should be on the right. The accompanying camera exposure data appears almost entirely to the left of the mid-screen dividing line. Although the Candidate and Select headings were transposed, the image exposure data was not, but the data for the image on the right was almost entirely to the left of the line dividing the screen in two.
Gurus in The Lightroom Forum have examined Task Manager data showing Processes running and Performance indicators and they see nothing wrong. I could also send screen shots of this data.

Missing 'open view' functionality in 0ADHOC_TABLE (0ADHOC), web template

Hi - it appears that the 'open view' functionality is missing as button in web template 0ADHOC_TABLE (0ADHOC), despite there is 'safe view' functionality (button).
Did someone add this button/functionality to 0ADHOC_TABLE?
What is the correct Javascript coding as we already tried to incorporate the 'open view' Javascript from template 0ANALYZER what does not work in this matter!

as described in the documentation you have to add first HELP_SERVICE and HELP_SERVICE_CLASS to your Web Item

This is done in Template 0ANALYZER with the TITLE Web Item. Just copy those 2 parameters from 0ANALYZER to 0ADHOC Template, then it should work.

Calling functions in dll

Dear all,
I'm facing an issue when a java program (ProgA) calls some functions in a dll, it works fine. But when I use another java program (ProgB) to call the method in ProgA that is calling the functions in dll, it prompts errors (please find the error message at the bottom of this mail). The following scripts are my programs. Please advise.
Can anyone experience the same situation? Please advise how to cope with external library? Should I miss any configuration?

Make sure that the dll is visible to LoginOn
You can do so by adding the DLL directory to the Java runtime library path, i.e. pass -Djava.library.path=<dll dir>(alternatively, copy the DLL to Java program's working directory). If the Java code can't find the library, you will get a java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError

I am unable to use the Live View function when working with JavaScript in Dreamweaver.

I am currently trying to set up my own website with dreamweaver and am very familiar with Java and JavaScript. However, whenever I try to use the Live View function it never lets me. Additionally, I am unable to preview my work in a browser as the option to do so is greyed out.
However, I have noticed that when using html in a project, all these functions are available. Any ideas how I can be able to use these functions?

Is it possible you meant to say you were "very unfamiliar with Java and javascript" in your initial post?
Javascript doesn't do anything without an html page to affect.
Java and javascript are not the same thing, they're really not even related other than browsers can be made to render both. Java is its own programming language while javascript is basically html's helper monkey. I don't think it's even feasible to "understand javascript" without knowing html. My last post still stands, if you are coding javascript, you need an html based page to turn it into anything but plain code to a browser, so the option to view it will never come up. When you preview the page it's attached to, it will function correctly (as long as it has been attached to the page correctly).
Java on the other hand can create programs that run without a browser at all and I've never gotten close to touching that monster.
You may need to explain what you're trying to do and post the code here to get the help you need.

Database Refresh with (data + metadata including views, functions etc)

PROBLEM:
I want to refresh data + metadata (tables, views, function, procedures, packages, triggers, package body etc) from one database to another database.
Now if objects already exists in the TARGET database, then we have option as TABLE_EXISTS_ACTION=REPLACE for TABLE.
But, do we have any other such option for OBJECTS OTHER THAN TABLE (LIKE VIEWS, PROCEDURES, FUNCTION, TRIGGER, PACKAGE, PACKAGE BODY).?
Because I dont see any such option. Currently if the Object is already there in the TARGET Database, it errors out without importing as OBJECT ALREADY EXISTS statement.
As we have lots of migration, number of objects changes & new objects coming up in Production very frequently.
And due to this, we cannot put big list of INCLUDE and also even keeping that we have to prepare that list very often as number of objects changes very frequently.
Please help me with some better solution.

I understand that you are Newbie , let give me simple steps.
Follow the steps on testing envi.
1. Drop only Application users that you want to refresh from Prod(Do NOT drop users system,sysaux.. or tablespaces)
2. Create the users that you dropped.
3. using import or import data pump import the data.
In case you want to import user"A" data to "B" use REMAP_SCHEMA option.

The user function manager DLL (ufmanager.dll) could not be found.

Hi Everyone,
I just spent two horrible days getting a Windows 2003 server to run our .net 2008 asp Crystal report. It was all because of the unknown.rpt error. The final answer was to give the NETWORK SERVICE account full control to the C:\ and then remove that permission.
Now, I'm up to my next challenge:
Error in File C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\CrystalReport {2A76C903-674A-4A7B-AA04-44FC7E206C3F}.rpt:
The user function manager DLL (ufmanager.dll) could not be found.
That dll is there on the server. What should I do?

Ok, here is where the fun begins as the issue you are getting is not something I've run into before. A few clarifications and suggestions re. troubleshooting.
I used the latest runtime.msi
- confirm this was CRRedist2008_x86.msi (just want to be sure)
pdf about the unknown.rpt.
- do you have a link or name of the pdf?
To troubleshoot let's do this:
1) Download the depends utility. I want to see if there is a missing dependency. depends is here:
http://www.dependencywalker.com/
open the ufmanager.dll in depends and see what it reports.
2) Run Process Monitor utility. ProcMon can be downloaded from here:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-ca/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx
Make sure you filter ProcMon for your process as this will shrink the log file. Then look for ufmanager.dll and see where the app is trying to load it from.
3) Check this registry entry:
HKLM\software\business objects\10.5\crystal reports
See that CommonFiles is pointing to c:\program files\business objects\common\2.8\bin.
4) Copy the ufmanager.dll from c:\program files\business objects\common\2.8\bin to your app directory (this is just a test as I want to see if we can load the dll from anywhere...)

DISABLE VIEW, FUNCTION, PACKAGE

Hi all,
My export/import is having error in its logs becuase there are invalid objects like views, functions, packages, etc whis is caused by a missing db_links.
This dump was taken from PROD so the link there exist. But we are importing it to the DEV server and we do not need the db_link and so with all the views, functions, etc
that are associated with it. But i do not want to drop them just to clear the error because it is tedious.
Is it possible to disable the views, and other invalid objects so that my export/import logs are clear of errors?
By the way I know this is no big deal, but the auditing group do not want to see errors in the logs.

I would suggest that instead of taking schema exp and imp ,
do it just for the tables only.
exp system/pwd file=backup.dmp indexes=y grants=y tables=schema_name.table_name log=table_export.logand then import using
imp system/pwd file=backup.dmp ignore=Y statistics=none tables=table_name fromuser=A touser=AThis will it will import only the tables.

I want to add a discoverer viewer function to my menu to load all available workbooks shared with a user.
I can use the seeded AMS_LAUNCH_DISCO to load specific workbooks but what would be the parameter to view all workbooks the same as if you'd logged in to Discoverer Viewer seperately?

Can't get the view function to work properly...

For some reason, I no longer can get the VIEW function to do what I want. Specifically, everytime I try to get ARTIST to show, it shows ALBUM BY ARTIST instead. This does NOT happen in my downloaded file, only in the entire library. Anyone else have this happen to them? Please advise.

In the Masked Artwork folder go to a photo with the keyword "food". Does it have a check mark at food?
I have had situations where the photo had the keyword printed under the title, but the check mark is not present. A search with that combination for the keyword yields "no image found".
Go to bottom of your keywords panel and look under Other Keywords. Is Food there and checked? If so you can right click on this keyword and Find will work. If you have the type of situration where keyword has no check mark in your tree, except for at Other, I found you have to delete them and then re-enter them. It will then work.

How to use Call library function node for a function in dll with VOID data type

I would like to ask for your kind help,
I am facing an issue with the call library node.
I have a C++ function(stdcall), which has void as data type
error code XXXX(hwnd, lID, getValue, *void data1, *void data2)
the data1 and data2 types are always changing depending upoin the value of "getValue".
Primarily i can use call library node multiple times and adapt each node according to the data types of data1 and data2, and extract the values and use in the code. Here is no issue. Real question is:

How can i just use one time call library node and make a case depending upon the "getvalue", which will control the data type of data1 and data2. Here i really looking for solutions.
My trials:
i used varaints as input to the call libray node for data1 and data2, and selected Parameters in call libraby node as " Adapt to type". here labview just crashed.
i really appreciate your feedbackand suggestions.

A variant is a very specific LabVIEW datatype (really a C++ type object internally) and trying to pass that to a function, which excepts a flat memory pointer there, for sure will crash very quickly.
As to endianess, yes Unflatten will be able to adjust for endianess, which in this case however is most likely exectly NOT what you want. So make sure that the you select native type for the endianess input on Unflatten from String. LabVIEW internally works with whatever is the native endianess, as will most likely your C++ DLL. The platform independent big endian format does only come into play when you receive data streams over some streaming interface like a network connection. Here it is desirable to use an endian format that is independent from the actual platform that generates and consumes the data stream. LabVIEWs default endianes is big endian here.
But as long as you pass data directly to native components like DLLs there is no difference in endianess between what LabVIEW uses and what those components use.
