  • Query Performance - Analyzer vs WAD

    Hi experts,
    We've been having user complaints regarding performance in BW.  The queries are accessed using Analyzer/Excel interface.  As a test I've tried comparing opening the query through Analyzer and then through Web Application Designer.  With Excel my load from S900 was taking almost 2 minutes.  With the Web Browser my initial load was just 30 seconds!  This is great however, this number is deceiving because it's only showing me a subset of the data; the first 25% of the data is shown and if I want to view more I have to click 'next page' (called 'Next Rows' on screen).  So the subsequent set of records (say 25-50%) then takes another 30 seconds.  So if you hit Next page each time you will end up getting 4 loads of 30 seconds each thus the same performance as Excel (2 minutes total wait), although maybe less stressful to sit and watch.
    QUESTION:
    It seems like the subsequent loads are taking 30 seconds because they are re-querying the back-end data (the S900 Cube) instead of re-querying the resultset.  Is that true?  Do you see my problem?  Is there a better way to do this to improve performance?
    Thanks for any help you can provide!

  • How to view the sql query?

    hi,
      how to view the sql query formed from the xml structure in the receiver jdbc?

    You can view SAP Note at
    http://service.sap.com/notes
    But you require SMP login ID for this which you should get from your company. The content of the notes are as follows:
    Reason and Prerequisites
    You are looking for additional parameter settings. There are two possible reasons why a feature is available via the "additional parameters" table in the "advanced mode" section of the configuration, but not as documented parameter in the configuration UI itself:
    Category 1: The parameter has been introduced for a patch or a SP upgrade where no UI upgrade and/or documentation upgrade was possible. In this case, the parameter will be moved to the UI and the documentation as soon as possible. The parameter in the "additional parameters" table will be deprecated after this move, but still be working. The parameter belongs to the supported adapter functionality and can be used in all, also productive, scenarios.
    Category 2. The parameter has been introduced for testing purposes, proof-of-concept scenarios, as workaround or as pre-released functionality. In this case, the parameter may or may not be moved to the UI and documentation, and the functionality may be changed, replaced or removed. For this parameter category there is no guaranteed support and usage in productive scenarios is not supported.
    When you want to use a parameter documented here, please be aware to which category it belongs!
    Solution
    The following list shows all available parameters of category 1 or 2. Please note:
    Parameter names are always case-sensitive! Parameter values may be case-sensitive, this is documented for each parameter.
    Parameter names and values as documented below must be used always without quotaton marks ("), if not explicitly stated otherwise.
    The default value of a parameter is always chosen that it does not change the standard functionality
    JDBC Receiver Adapter Parameters
    1. Parameter name: "logSQLStatement"
                  Parameter type: boolean
                  Parameter value: true for any string value, false only for empty string
                  Parameter value default: false (empty String)
                  Available with: SP9
                  Category: 2
                  Description:
                  When implementing a scenario with the JDBC receiver adapter, it may be helpful to see which SQL statement is generated by the JDBC adapter from the XI message content for error analysis. Before SP9, this can only be found in the trace of the JDBC adapter if trace level DEBUG is activated. With SP9, the generated SQL statement will be shown in the details page (audit protocol) of the message monitor for each message directly.
                  This should be used only during the test phase and not in productive scenarios.

    Prateek

  • Is there a way to force a View Object to query the database always?

    Dear All,
    Is there a way to force a view object to always scan the database table to read the latest data?
    Here's my use case.
    I have a page that loads data then I have a button which executes the following code.
    viewObject.setApplyViewCriteriaName("SampleCriteria");
    viewObject.setNamedWhereClauseParam("arg1", "test");
    viewObject.executeQuery();
    RowSetIterator it = viewObject.createRowSetIterator(null);
    while(it.hasNext()) {
         /* More Code */
    }Suppose after page load, I edited some row in the table and then I clicked the button. I notice that my edited row
    was not reflected in the query.
    I am not sure but is there some configuration to check so that when the viewobject executes it will always query the data
    from the table?
    I am thinking that there is some level of caching and I want to disable it. If I restart my application, I notice that it is able to read the latest data.
    JDEV 11.1.1.5

    By default a view object performs its query against the database to retrieve the rows in its resulting row set. However, you can also use view objects to perform in-memory searches and sorting to avoid unnecessary trips to the database.
    The view object's query mode controls the source used to retrieve rows to populate its row set. For more details please refer: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B31017_01/web.1013/b25947/bcadvvo005.htm

  • Screen Pop a View in New Query Mode

    I am doing a Siebel screen pop customization and am having trouble figuring out how to open my desired view in query mode when the call comes in. I have specified my BusComp and BusObj as well as my SingleView in the custom EventResponse but am not sure where and how to specify the mode which I want the view to open in.
    Anyone know how to do this?
    Thanks in advance!

    Thank you Fuzii,
    I am a Siebel newbie and am trying to figure out how to do a few things with custom screen pops.
    My EventResponse looks like this:
    [EventResponse:AnsweredInboundCall]
    QueryBusComp = "<busComp>"
    QueryBusObj = "<busObj>"
    QuerySpec = "[<fieldName>] = '{<variableName>}'"
    SingleView = "<viewName>"
    So the specified view will show when there is a match on the variableName. In case that variable is empty or a match is not found, then I would like to have the view open in query mode. I am doing this directly in the Siebel Admin Configuration but it doesn't seem that there is a way to tell the applet which mode to open in here.
    If I set the Auto Query Mode to 'New Query' in Siebel Tools, will my specification for SingleView in EventResponse override it and show the view with that record found?
    Thank you for the help :)

  • How to view a BI query with anonymous user in the portal

    <b>Hi Gurus,</b>
    Does anybody knows how to view a BI query in the portal with anonymous user?
    Cause when i try to view a query the portal always ask for authentification. And i don't want to sign with a user cause my portal is for everybody and if the user logged in it shows the roles that previously were assigned.
    I have the Netweaver 2004 with SP9
    <b>Thank you Very Much</b>

    do you have sso configured between portal and BW server, if yes the authentication pop up should not come.
    if you dont want to do sso between portal and bw server and still want to logon to BW query with anonymous user,
    in you bw server go to transaction sicf and navigate to DEFAULT_HOST->SAP->BW->BEX and double click on bex node in the resulting window, log on details section provide a default userid/password

  • How to Create a View of a Query and assign it into my web template?

    Hi All,
    I need to create 3 views for my query and show that on my web template. I have never done this before. Can you please let me know step-by step procedure to create views for a query and how to show it on my WAD report?
    Thanks,
    Satyam

    Hi Satyam,
    Include the Dropdown Box web item in your web template. In the Web Item Parameters tab, select the Data Binding type as Query View Selection. Assign the Dataprovider from Selection of Query Views button below the Data Binding Type. You also have the option to Display Specific list of Query Views or all views based on that Query. For this you have to choose Selection of Query Views button. Here you can turn on Specific List of Query Views checkbox and select the Views depending on your requirement.

  • How to see views created on query in a report.

    Hi
    Could you please help me out urgently?
    I have a question regarding how to see views created on query in a report.
    Is there any table or query through which we can see views created on Query?
    Thanks & Regards
    Neha

    Hi,
    If you created a view on any query,
    What is view ?
    once you execute the query and save the output as view right ?
    But we can not see the view in query output.
    Insted of executing the query, directly we can execute the view which you have saved as query output.
    Open the BEX and search for the view insted of query then it will give you the out put directly.
    I hope it will help you.
    Regards,
    Yerrabelli.

  • Viewing the physical query in OBIEE

    In the NQQuery.log file the physical query executed on the database is not logged. I have changed the logging level of the user to "2" in the Administration Tool. What else is needed to view the physical query?

    Hi ,
    if the caching is on your sql runs from cache and you can see 'cache hit' in your NQQuery.log file.If you turn off your caching property from nqsconfig.ini file and purge your cache files from administration tool or manually deleting from its directory then you should see the physical query.
    If your caching property is off, I dont have an idea about it.

  • Generic Extraction - query view and infoset query difference

    Hi Guys,
    I want to know the Generic datasource difference between Extraction from view and Extraction from Query .I have read some threads and documents, still i am not getting the exact difference.
    My understanding :
    Views: combination of tables to view the end result , we use views.
    Infoset query also with help of SQ01, 02, 03  : we combine tables to see the result.
    both use primary key to select the data.
    Please help me.
    Thanks ,
    Nithi.

    Hi Nithi ,
    When we build the datasource on the View
    View is basically a table in which you can take data from many table combniation  .
    in view you can specify the table join condtion and selection condtion
    View data gets updated as the data in the source table gets updated
    When we build the datasource on the Infoset
    Data source str gets filled from the infoset query .you need to use SQ01 and Sq02 transaction for this
    in infoset you can define the tables from which you want to read the date .There is also facilty to write ABAP code which will process the data and fill the the data source str using infoset query
    infoset query read the data from infoset and transfer to data structure
    Thanks

  • Convert SAP QUICK VIEWER to SAP QUERY

    Could any one pls tell me to convert the SAP Quickviewer to SAP Query. Also tell me how to make the other users to view this SAP Query or Report using the Custom Area Menu.

    Dear Neelu,
    go to QuickViewer (SQVI), create and save an object, go to Menu "Environment" in SQ01 and switch to Standard Area(client-specific). Next, u go to Menu QuickView and push "Convert QuickView..". Finish!
    EDIT: Regarding your question about queryview for other users:
    [U must create a user group|User Groups for Queries; in SQ03 or choose a existing one and then u can assign it to a query. If u want to see different user groups in SQ01 go to 'Edit' -> 'Change usergroup'.
    Hope this helps!
