View output should popup the lov containing EXCEL,Browser etc

Hi,
We are on 11.5.10.2 and the other instance is on 12.0.4,
We have one requirement in bothe the instance, When we are opening a "view output" to open the concurrent requests output file, We need to get the popup (LOV) to choose excel, browser etc
I got one doc:184375.1 but i am not sure, This is the perticular doc
Please help me out to make this setup.

Steps are
A.

2. INSTALL > VIEWER OPTIONS
3. Created valid MIME for Excel
Format Type     MIME               DESCRIPTION
Text          application/vnd.msexcel     11i Excel
B.
1. System Administrator Responsibility
2. PROFILE > SYSTEM      -
3. Check the PROFILE > SYSTEM OPTION - Viewer: Text
This can be Blank to continue using the TOOLS > COPY FILE function or it can be set to browser to be able to choose a Viewer Option.
Now the Required functionality is working.

How to view Output Messages in the LabWindows UI?

In my LabWindows/CVI I would like to view the output messages that are sent from sequences:
"RunState.Engine.NewOutputMessage(Parameters.Message).Post()"
I thought there might be a TS UI Control like the one in the sequence editor called Output - but I can't find one.
So far I have managed to catch the message type (TS_UIMsg_OutputMessages) but I can't actually get the string from the event.
Does anyone have an example of doing this?

Ok, let me see if I can explain how to do it more clearly then.
1) Create a new OutputMessages collection using TS_EngineNewOutputMessages(). This collection will store your own private copy of the output messages. You can hold onto and add to this collection if you want to store them. If not you can just close the handle to free it once you are done with it.
2) When you get the UIMessage you need to get the ActiveXData property of it. I think the CVI function should be called something like TS_UIMessageGetActiveXData(). The CAObjHandle you get back from this function is a different OutputMessages object that you should NOT hold onto (because of multithreading reasons), you should instead close the handle before returning back from your UIMessage handler. Before doing that though, you should use the TS_OutputMessagesCopyMessagesToCollection method to copy the messages from this OutputMessages object to the new one you created in step 1) above (i.e. you are making your own private copy of the messages and leaving the ones in the UIMessage unchanged (again, it is for multithreading reasons that it must be done this way to avoid race conditions).
3) You now have a copy of the output messages from the event in your own private OutputMessages collection that you created in step 1) above. You can now access it to get the info for the output messages. You can get the number of items it contains (and it might contain more than one), by using the TS_OutputMessagesGetItem() function and using CA_VariantInt(index) to package the integer that you pass for the index parameter.
4) Getting the item gives you an OutputMessage object (notice no plural). You can get information about the output message using the methods and properties of the OutputMessage class (see the online help for more info). There is more to an output message than just the message text. There is also a timestamp, category, location, icon, id, severity, color, etc.

You can use tools like JD-GUI and the see the code. If you want to customize a cartirdge, you can always extend the class and add your stuff to the contentItem.

I would like to Disable 'OUTPUT' Tab in SRM PO (Web browser) for different users who are assigned to SRM Employee Role (who has PO Display Authorization) to restrict PO Print Preview only (not to restrict displaying PO field values in SRM Web Browser). I have to have BBP_PD_PO activity as 'Display' to display field values in SRM PO Web Browser - Under SRM Employee Role.
Let me know the solution for the above requirement.

I have the same problem with the PO Output tab.
I would like to disable the Output tab for any user without modification.
SCREEN BADI is not working, because with screen BADI you can only influence position fields, here we ve got a TAB /Field on header level.
CHECK BADI: I did not get the message here. How should I block the user to change the output format only by throwing a message within CHECK_BADI?
The only way I see is a modification to disable the whole Tab.

User view output in IE and the output is in portrait but should be in landscape

No issue create BI template. Completed successfully run in oracle 11.5.10.2 and able to print it out in landscape as expected.. BUT when user click the "view output" button. The IE pop up open the output file. when user either save it or print it, it will save and print in Portrait even the BI template is landscape. Anything I can do to "fix" it so user save and print the output from IE stay in landscape?

First, I would try disabling any Add-ons like Adblock Plus, or NoScript.
Second, possibly try disabling anti-virus
Third, if that didn't do it, I would then Restart FF in Safe Mode, and see if that worked.
Then, re-enable each individually, to see which is causing it.

How to change Alt text for the Popup Key LOV Image in Apex 3.2.1.00.10

we are using Application Express version is 3.2.1.00.10
There is an icon to click on to popup the lov search box, the alt text for that image is currently "popup Lov"
would it be possible to change the text to something more meaningfull e.g. "Lookup Person name" or "search Directory for Person names" .
I have tried by updaing them
from
Shared Components>Templates> Popup List of Values Template > Popup Icon Attr --> width="13" height="13" alt="Popup Lov"
(under Popup List of Values)
to
alt="#CURRENT_ITEM_NAME#"
it didn't work.

Is it possible to add elements to the lov dynamically?

I'm using forms6i.
I've one record group which fetches data from the table, and based on that recordgroup i have one lov.
But based on the values entered by the user at runtime,(which wont be there in table till it is saved),
I want to add those items to the already exisitng lov. Is it possible?
Say i have one column pack_serial, for which i've attached thie above said lov.
And in the table pack_serial have values 1,2
In runtime, user entered one more value say 3 to the pack_serial, which is not saved to the table yet
and the for the next record, user wants to view the elements in the lov. 1,2 is already there since it is saved in the table.
In addition to that i want to show 3 also(just entered value) in the lov.
So i may have to add this value,3, to the list dynamically, may be in when-validate-record trigger or something.
Is the above said possible? if yes please help me do it

As i explained above, the item should be added to lov for the next record irrespective of whether it is saved to the table or not.
Like the form looks like this
PACKSERIAL SERIAL PACK TYPE WEIGHT VOLUME.....

3                1           ...Now suppose the first three records are already there in the database, (with packserial 1 and 2)
and when user try to view the lov from the 4th record, the lov will contain 1 and 2 , as per the recordgroup query which fetches from the table
But instead he is entering new packserial 3, so serial becomes 1, and then he fills all the other details.
Now agian user wants to add another record in same packserial 3 with serial 2.
So this time we should show the lov with values 1,2 (which is already available ) + 3.
So everytime user tries key-listval may be i need to retrieve all the additionally entered pack serials in the form and add to the lov, before showing the lov.
Hope it is clear, Please suggest the best way, i'm not v much aware of the multi user environment

Validate from list pops up the LOV

Hi, everybody.
I have a text item attached to a LOV and the validate from list property is set to YES.
Despite this, i just write into the text item the text '01' .
Anytime i use go_block('my_block') the LOV pops up and asks me to choose again the value for my text item from the LOV .
Is this because my text item is connected to the first column of the LOV and
the first column of the LOV has more than one values of '01' in the list, more than one record that has the first column '01'.
In case this is the reason, how can i solve this to avoid poping up of the LOV.

Ok.But all i want to do, is not to show my LOV.
If i set validate from list=NO, my LOV doesn't show.
I still want to validate from list but only in the cases when i put a value that is not in the LOV.
in this case i put a value that actually is in the LOV, so the LOV should not show.
I don't understand why LOV shows when the value i put in the text item is equal to one of the values of the LOV, only that the LOV contains this value more than one time.

View logfile or view output hangs in 3 node environment

Briefing the environment:
Database -- ERPDB001
Conc + admin -- APPS001
Forms + web -- APPS002
Some times when we try to see view log or view output after running the Concurrent requests. The system seems like hanging and it will display following error after. If you check in the next minute, it will show the output/logfile. looks like a strange behavior
"An error occurred while attempting to establish an Application File Server connection with the node APPS001. There may be a network configuration problem, or the TNS listener on node APPS001 may not be running, Please contact your system administrator."
Is this the Oracle Apps issue or the network issue between two node.

We found not much errors.
One time the error is

But I used to get above Original error (Core issue) lot of times in the Application.
Even users are complaining about this.

Error Message when LOV contains no entries

Hello,
I am using Oracle and Forms 10g. I have the following problem.
I have a textfield with a WHEN-MOUSE-CLICK trigger that displays a LOV.
I want when the LOV contains no values to see an error message on the status bar below only. My problem is when I click again on the textfield an error message displays saying that the LOV contains no values.
What I want, is to display the error message on the status bar ONLY and not on a message.
I have tried to do it by setting the :System.Message_level but this method also deletes the message on the status bar.
How can I solve my problem?

Hello,
If you know the corresponding error message number, you can addd a ON-ERROR trigger on the item that supports the LOV, then trap this message and display yours with the Message( '', no_acknowledge) built-in.

It gives a blank page
We are trying to view an xml report

Is the issue with XML/PDF concurrent requests or with all requests?
Can you find any errors in Apache/Database log files?
Is the application listener up and running? Can you find any errors in the listener log file?
Have you tried to run AutoConfig and bounce the services and see if this helps?

using office outlook under parallel desktop double click on an Excel attachement does not open the document in Excel.
double-click opens Excel Office 2011 for mac without the document.
It should open the document in Excel 2010 for Windows.

In Parralells, choose the file you want to open.
Right Click on it and choose Properties.
In the General Tab you will see "Opens with:"
Click the "Change ... " button.
Then choose Excel 2010. The checkbox below should be set to "Always use ... "
