Viewer crashes if any data exists in field

Hi there,
Wonder if you would be able to help me out. We are doing a very simple query onto the database using a Data Template (see below).
We've set the 3 parameters and Auto Generated a Layout.
When viewing this report (clicking View) all is fine when (any of the fields) COMPANY_BACKGROUND or FOCUS are empty. As soon as we enter any value - doesn't matter how long, or which characters - we get the error ("The report cannot be rendered because of an error, please contact the administrator.") when viewing the template in any, but Data output format. When outputting to Data, we do see the data in the database represented in the xml.
The columns have the following specs:
- S_ORG_EXT.DIRECTIONS is a long of type Data (Public).
- S_ORG_EXT.FOCUS is a Varchar 700 of type Extension.
Can anyone help us finding out why filling any of the fields with data makes the viewer crash?

Large Varchar
Does the viewer have a max length size for bringing in data from fields/columns > (f.e.) 300 characters?

Views not displaying any data

Hi,
We are experiencing a strange issue with views in production server.
Views created off of one query is not working where it is displaying "NO Data Available" ,
When the view is executed we fill in the company code and date and leve the remaining 10 selections with out filling, and we are getting "No Applicable data" ,but there is data for that selection.
When we go and try to refresh the variable screen it is filled with date in all selections which are not date fields, and that is causing the problem. " Not sure why the date is filled in all the selections"
Views on different query are working fine.
But the views on same repot are working fine in Development server. But not in Production. We didnt make any changes to that query. We also regenerated the query.We have bounce the java server. We have retransported the query and nothing worked.
We are on SAP BI 7.0 SP 22

XL Reporter not getting any data

Hi
When I am using XL Composer and generating report using it, I am getting data what the fields I have dragged. Not getting any data when generating same report in organizer from composer except the Title field names. Before I got but now I am not getting.
STEPS Taken
 XL Reporter Composer Tool bar
 Generate
 Generate(Window)(Name: given Sample & checked Generate report then ok)
And having another problem when generating sample reports I am getting data and when editing that report are preparing new with some fields, I am not getting any data.
Example: I have made Edit of Bank Book and placed extra field Document No, saved the report and generated I am not getting any data except titled fields.
 In new report I have taken BP Code and sales Employee I am not getting any data.
Please Can any one help me, It is urgent.

If you did not select any "total" field (quantities, totals, etc), XL Reporter will show data only at report composer. It will not work at final XL Report itself.
This is a normal behaviour of XL Reporter, unfortunetaly.
If you are trying to create a simple list of records, I suggest to use Query Generator, combined to PLD in order to get a formatted report.

BI Publisher Word Template The report does not contain any data fields.

I have OBIEE BI Publisher report (10.3.4) working fine using BIP but using MS Word 2003 I want to create new template and want to add charts etc.
Step 1. In MS Word I successfully login Oracle BI Publisher as Administrator
2. Oracle BI Publisher -> Open (I open the report)
3. Go to Insert -> Table Wizard
I get this error:
The report does not contain any data fields. Please make sure that the reports generates data with the default settings or provide a valid XML file.

MM - Material master data - move standard field to another view

Hi everyone,
ÉCC 6.0 - release 7.0.
I've been adding many custom fields in Material master data MM01/02/03. Now I got a problem because we have to use a standard field in another view.
The field MARA-HERKL is set up to 'SV'(attribute V_130F-PSTAT):
Warehouse management = S
Sales = V
I want to add 'K - Basic data' in this field's attribute at OSMR Tcode , but this attribute is disactivated. I can not change this value.
I've check this note 306966 that mention: You cannot create new entries and delete entries in client 000. This client contains only the entries delivered by SAP which are used for distinguishing customer-specific fields and SAP standard during the maintenance of the other clients.
Is there any problem whether I delete this field and afterwards create it with the new values?
I'm not in client 000. So, I want to just make sure I will do a legal change.

Alert navigation is working but without any data in the views

Hi Experts,
                   Currently I am working with CRM 2007(6.0), I am facing issues regarding the Alert navigation. Below are my comments.
1. Created an alert with navigation objcet specified as FICAACCBALANCEDISP:B for Account balance display
2.Created a rule policy with required condition.
3.During the confirmation of Business partner alert is getting displayed in the alert information bar along with hyper link for the alert.
4. When i clicked on the navigation link it is navigating to the account balance display page but with out any data.
5. If i Check the account balance from the l-shape navigation, i could find the data in the respective views.
Please provide your suggestion why when i try to navigate to the accound balance display by clicking on the hyper link it is not displaying any data?. Thanks

Fact-gathering services are OK to get data used in alert configuration, but I also observed that alert framework does not allow to pass key of navigation entity when alerts are clicked for navigation.
This is why you should use an action-handler service instead ! Check existing classes implementing interface if_crm_smf_action_handler. There are some delivered by SAP that produce alerts.
In your own one class implementing that interface, you can control what data is passed during navigation, like in following code snippet:

Hi, Im not a frequent forum poster, as most of my questions can be found already answered on them!
This is a question Ive had for a long time and it amazes me that no-one else seems to ask it. I check at each OS upgrade but its never there...
Is there any way of dragging and dropping an iCal event showing in week view across to a date in the left sidebar monthly calendar?
I was able to do this years ago in MS Outlook, and utilized it all the time when I needed to push things back, now I have to open the event and select an new date in the drop-down calendar for each & every event I want to move to a new month at the end of the month.
If its definitely not possible, how to you ask apple to consider including it - it doesnt seem like a particularly difficult task.

No, but you can use cut/paste. Cut (⌘X) the event, then click on the week where you want to move the event, and Paste (⌘V).
If you have a suggestion for Apple to change that method use: Apple - Mac OS X - Feedback.

Is there any way to prevent fields from being overwritten when importing data via xdp-file?

In an pdf-form designed with LCD everytime the form gets merged with an xdp-datafile content of all fields get overwritten, regardless which data-binding (normal, global, none) is assigned to the fields and regardless if the fields are exluded in the xdp-datafile. Is this normal behavior and is there any way to prevent fields from being overwritten?

The xdp-file is first exported from Acrobat Professional 8 (export data as *.xdp) to get the complete structure. Then in the xdp-file some fields are removed manually and other fields are filled with data. When the modified xdp-file is opened again with Acrobat Professional 8 it grabs the original pdf-form and merges the manually filled fields into the form. With the merge all other fields in the form are overwritten, even if they are not defined in the xdp-file. And that is what I want to avoid. I want to merge the xdp-file into the form and keep the data in fields not defined in the xdp-file.

VD02 or VD03 - Change / Display Customer - Sale and Distribution( With out Company Code Data.
From Technical Point of View:
SE11 or SE16
Table Name : KNA1 or KNB!
From here you can view all the customer data.

Hi, i am trying to extend the purcahsing view from a template material for a new material using BAPI BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA. Both these material belong to the same plant and the template material has a purcahsing view defined.
But after the extention process, when i open the purchaisng view for the new material in MM03 , i get the message "No plant specific data exists".
what can be the reson for this. ?

Are you passing your plant number in your file ?.It seems you are not passing plant data ,Check your data.

Lead's Indexedpick fields are not returning any data throught Cast Iron

I am trying to fetch data from lead indexedpick4 and indexedpick5 off lead object through Cast Iron, no data comes back and I know there are data in those fields. All custom picklists in the same query are fetched correctly. Any ideas?

Problem solved.
Issue was with the Record Delimiter. I had kept it as newline as I saw the contents in an editior where everything looked proper.
The moment I switched to a much simpler editor, I could see the records ended with a different character which looked like a square to the naked eye.
Upon applying the record delimiter as 0x'0a', the file translation started to work correctly.

In versions of Acrobat prior to version 9, selecting a particular form tool (Textbox, Checkbox), etc. would only display Fields of that particular type in the Acrobat Designer (not LiveCycle).
If one wanted to change a particular property of all check boxes for example, one would select the Checkbox Tool, Click Edit>Select All>Right Click one of the Checkboxes and Set the Property for all of the Form's Checkboxes.
Selecting a particular form tool in the Acrobat (not Lifecycle) Designer in version 9 appears to no longer filter the display to that particular form field type. Is there any way to display only 1 particular form field type in or set a particular property for all existing Form Fields of a particular type (Check Box, Text Box, etc.) in Acrobat 9?

HANA view as source in Data Services

Hi Gurus,
I have a data flow in Data Services where an attribute view is used as source. That is data flow is running fine as of now.
As per an updated requirement, we have added couple of fields to the view additionally and have to use them in our data flow.
But, when I try to re-import the view into HANA, it is not allowing to do so. It is throwing an error that the table does not exist.
However, if I delete it from my repository and import it as a new one, it is working fine.
Could you please let me know if there is any specific way to re-import views from HANA into Data Services.

SAP does not provide officially an SAP R3 connector for Data Federator 3.x.
There is a prototype though that you can download and use. Keep in mind though that this is no official SAP product yet..
