Viewing video in browser on computer before uploading to webpage?

Details:
I shot a video using Sony XV2000 camcorder.
Using firewire I uploaded to PE7
Edited the video in PE7 down to a 3.5 minute demo.
When it came time to "Share" I chose to share to "computer"  rather than online directly to my website on my server.  My website did not yet have a page designed to receive the video. So that did not make much sense to me.
So I shared to computer in hopes of loading to my website once the page was designed.
I placed the video in a folder on my computer. An icon appears there that looks like a small film clip with the letters on it: MPEG.
When I click on that icon the video automatically plays, and very nicely, in Windows Media Player.
I then designed a page using HTML. But I cannot (don't know how) to get the video to appear on that page. I would like to see the completed page with the video on my computer before loading to my webpage on my server.
What do I need to do? Is there possibly an HTML code to accomplish this? The "img" tag doen't do it.
Anybody's help would sure be appreciated.

Charles and Wine Snob, thanks for your help.
I have partial success accept for one thing explained below:
After editing the video in Premiere 7 I saved it to a folder on my computer  as a Quick Time (.mov) file.
It showed up in my documents and played fine.
I then posted the following into the html page where I wanted the video to play:
<object classid="clsid:02BF25D5-8C17-4B23-BC80-D3488ABDDC6B" width="320" height="256">
<param name="src" value="monademo.mov" >
<param name="controller" value="true" >
<param name="autoplay" value="falce">
<object type="video/quicktime" data="monademo.mov" width="320" height="256">
<param name="controller" value="true" >
<param name="autoplay" value="falce">
</a>
</object>
</object>
I uploaded to my website and works beautifully ACCEPT FOR ONE THING:
Strange! When opening the page on the web there is no "skin" around the player ( I think "skin"  is what you experts call it.)  I mean there is no framed player. Just the Quick Time control bar. When you click on the start triangle on the control bar it plays fine. But with no "skin" it looks kinda' strange.
Appreciate any and all suggestions.

    The best thing to do is download the trial of Lightroom and see if it works for you. The trial is the complete program. The only thing different about the trial is that it expires after thirty days. Your images stay in the folders you already have so there's little risk. Good luck!

    these are really important videos of my daughters first steps etc so really need to get this right! and as phone memory is low i cant do much on phone till i get rid of the vids!!!!
    thanks in advance

    Plug your iPhone into your PC, when it is connected open my computer and you will see your iPhone under devices. Double click on your iPhone and a window will open and display a dics drive called "internal storage", double click on internal storage and a folder will appear (might be named DCIM), double click on that folder and another folder should appear. This folder(s) (their may be more then one) should contain all your pictures and videos taken on your iPhone. Simply select the video(s) you want to save to you computer by right clicking on the video, select copy and then paste it where you would like to save it on your pc (click and drag will also work). After you have transfered the videos to your pc see if they play properly.

  • Viewing video in browser

    if you view a video in safari is there a way to adjust the size if it is playing with quicktime.

    depends on the site - youtube ( which uses flash video) lets you size up the movie.
    if you have QT Pro, you can save (most) movies to you computer, and play fullscreen if you wanted to.

  • How do we view videos on our Mac computer?  We keep getting the message, "Blocked plug-in".

    We have a Mac desktop computer.  We suddenly can't watch videos.  We keep getting the message, "Blocked plug-in".  Please help.
    Thank you

    That is because Apple shut down Flash Player due to a security alert.
    You need to download the latest version.
    You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS.
    You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
    and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.

  • Sharpen video footage before uploading onto YouTube

    Basically I'm wondering whether there is any way to sharpen up the video footage in iMovie '08 before uploading onto YouTube to compensate for the 'softening' of the video by the YouTube rendering.
    I've compared the video's I've uploaded to the same ones uploaded by a few other users and it seems to me that my versions seem to be a little bit blurred. I've tried most of the tricks like resizing the video to 640 x 480 so YouTube compression doesn't have to do too much work and the 100MB limit can be consumed in the quality of the video.
    For info, the video footage looks sharp enough in iMovie '08 viewer, I can't seem to find any method to tweak the sharpness from within iMovie.
    If this cannot be achieved from within iMovie '08, can the sharpness be adjusted in '06 or in Final Cut Express (which I am REALLY struggling with!), or does anyone have any other suggestions. Any idea on when the upgrade is due out?
    Any help and assistance as always is much appreciated

    I can't see any options from within Streamclip to sharpen the video further.
    Since you are in MPEG Streamclip here (and not iMovie '08), you would have to go through the alternative "Export to other formats..." File menu option to access the original QT structure "QuickTime" option window which includes access to the built-in "Filter" options.
    PLEASE NOTE: I'm focusing this particular exercise on uploading pinsharp video footage onto YouTube rather than general video editing.
    While the use of different settings and compression formats may help reduce the YouTube loss of quality, IMHO there are just too many issues with both the transcoding of files by YouTube and their on-line player to justify the use of this site where quality is your major concern. Use this site when widest distribution to the most people is more important that the final quality. If you must use YouTube, you may wish to review the following Ken Stone article: Encoding for YouTube Using Compressor.

  • Checking filename length in File Browse item before uploading

    I have a File Browse item from which users can upload files into the database. Within APEX, the file metadata and content first get uploaded into the view WWV_FLOW_FILES. By design apparently, the underlying table for this view has a NAME field which is limited to 90 characters. I would like to test the length of the Name field and provide a warning to the user if the name exceeds 90 characters, but any validation I write to that effect does not "fire" until after the file has been uploaded to the WWV_FLOW_FILES view. That attempt to upload apparently is the first thing that happens when you Submit with a File Browse item, even before the validation. If the name of the file exceeds 90 characters in length, the attempted upload errors out with a generic Page Not Found error. Is there any way to capture the length of the Name of the file with a File Browse item prior to the attempt to upload to the WWV_FLOW_FILES view, or is my only option just to put a warning banner on the page?

    Hello Mike,
    >> Column NAME in WWV_FLOW_FILES is VARCHAR2(90). It does not include the local filename path. It include a prefix like "F1521676842/" in the front of the filename.
    Yes, you are correct. I spoke from memory, and it seems that I remembered one of my customized tables, where I also save the local full path of the file.
    As far as I can see in my system, the extension of the ‘F123….’ is not with a fix length, and the highest one is 18 characters long. Therefore, it seems that the actual file name should be less than 70 characters long.
    A similar code to the following can be used in a validation check:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function checkFileName(pThis){
      if (pThis.value != "") {
         //get path value (including file name)
         var fileAndPath = pThis.value;
         //find the index of the last "\"
         var lastPathDelimiter = fileAndPath.lastIndexOf("\\");
        //get everything after the last "\"
        var fileNameOnly = fileAndPath.substring(lastPathDelimiter+1);
        if (fileNameOnly.length >70) {
          alert("File name " + fileNameOnly +
              " is too long (" + fileNameOnly.length + " characters).");
          pThis.focus();
    </script>The “HTML Form Element Attributes” of the item should include:
    onblur=" checkFileName(this)"
    Regards,
    Arie.

    How can I have a video of my personal song That I've written in iTunes Have 3200 views in 4 hours, ? Does iTunes upload your iTunes library ?

    You can't write videos with iTunes.  You can't even write anything with iTunes.  iTunes plays media, not create it.
    iTunes only uploads your library if you have subscribed to iTunes Match and then it is only viewable by yourself.  It doesn't include video.
    iTunes is an application that runs on your computer.  It is not the iTunes Store which is something run on Apple's corporate computer's.
    I think there's terminology problems here so perhaps simplify it a bit.  Are you talking about something you have on the iTunes Store server?  I know nothing about that but I guess it is possible people (or more likely automated computer programs automatically scanning the web) have had a look and that gets flagged as a view.

  • What file format do I save a video to when I want to upload it to a website or youtube for viewing?

    What file format do I save a video to when I want to upload it to a website or youtube for viewing?

    Ashley.Tengler
    What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running on?
    What are the properties of the media that you have on the Timeline and what is the project preset?
    In the absence of details such as that, I would generalize and suggest that, if applicable for your version, look at
    sharing opportunities under ...Computer/AVCHD and the presets there which are applicable to your situation.
    And, be aware that you can change those settings, if necessary, under the Advanced Button of the preset
    selected.
    Please review and then do not hesitate to ask if you need clarification on anything that I have written. But, please do
    include the details mentioned.
    Thanks.

  • How can clients view video file that I upload to my Creative Cloud area?

    How can clients view video files that I upload to my Creative Cloud area?  Is there a special password that they have to use to gain access?
    Thanks for any guidance.
    Dave

    As a video professional, i agree and am VERY disappointed with this policy.  I attended CC presentations at various conventions, film festivals and meetups for a year-and-a-half before I made the leap to CC, and no one EVER mentioned a restriction to transferring video files.
    Whether it's to save storage space or not, that's how it APPEARS to the end user.  Anybody who knows ANYthing about how video pirates commit their crime (which it most-certainly is), knows that there are plenty of FREE, untraceable (or nearly-anonymous) resources to carry it out.  The need for anyone to pay $30 or more per-month to do it with an acct that has their info attached to it is ludicrous!  If anything it's CONTRIBUTING to piracy to encourage creatives to transfer their material to collaborative parties using a less-secure, more heavily-trafficked third-party service than the one they're paying for exclusive use for.
    Adobe's policy makers need to review this restriction and remove it or provide ANOTHER reason why it exists because this one doesn't fly.  And if it continues, make sure a disclaimer gets inserted in CC pitch presentations because likely half of the attendees are working with video.

    After updating my system to Mountain Lion 10.8.2 I can no longer view videos on Facebook or other sites. The only one I can view videos on is youtube. I have downloaded Adobe Flash player and still no luck. I cannot even open Preview on my computer anymore. Any ideas would be helpful thanks

    Merely clicking the Preview icon in the Dock doesn't cause it to open anything, unless you had one or more windows open the last time it quit.
    If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test.
    1. If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, triple-click the line below to select it:
    /Library/Internet Plug-Ins Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
    Services ▹ Open
    from the contextual menu. A folder should open. If there is more than one item in the folder with the words "Flash Player" (not "flashplayer") in the name, open the respective Info windows, check the version numbers, and delete all except the latest. You may be prompted for your login password. If you get the same error after doing that, re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from this page:
    Adobe - Install Adobe Flash Player
    Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
    2. If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
    from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked Enable plug-ins.
    3. Select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
    from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.
    4. In the Safari preference window, select
    Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
    Close the window. Then select
     ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
    and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.

  • Unable to view video files in browser :[

    Does anyone know why Safari is unable to view video files in the browser ??? I used to be able to view .mpg video files right in the browser and when viewing .wmv files Safari would open up Windows Media Player which would then play the file. I really dug that feature. Now when clicking on a .mpg video file, Safari simply downloads the file to my HD and that's it. Is there an easy fix for this issue ??? Hello !!! Anybody ???

    Tell the QuickTime plug-in to play the file inside a browser window.
    Open System Preferences/QuickTime and click the Advanced tab. Click the MIME Settings button and then put a check mark in MPEG media.
    Quit and relaunch your browser for these changes to take effect.

    I took some videos using my iPhone 5c and uploaded them to my computer.  I can play the videos in iPhoto, but when I open them in QuickTime, they are dark and silent.  Why can't I see them in QuickTime?

    Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
    Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
    Select the options identified in the screenshot.
    Fix #2
    Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
    Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
    Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
    Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
    In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
    Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
