Vinyl to MP3 - how do I get it LOUD?

Question

I just converted a bunch of vinyl to digital last night, edited it a bit in logic, and then exported at the highest volume possible without distortion, and the resultant MP3s are half as loud as anything else in my iTunes.
Here's how I'm converting - Turntable to Mixer (Vestax DJ mixer) to Firebox to Logic
During recording I've got the master volume on the Mixer in the reds, and when I export from Logic the master volume is up and the output volume is almost almost almost distorting, but still the file is too quiet.
Any tips for getting my MP3 files louder??

I get what you're all saying, and appreciate it.
The reason I was asking mainly is - if I put together
a CD for someone, and put one of my vinyl-->mp3
tracks on it, they're gonna turn the volume way up
for the vinyl track, forget that they did that, and
then hurt their eardrums or **** up their stereo when
the next track blasts on.
know what I'm saying?

Yes I understand your assumed problem...but remember...you cannot control what other people do,only whay you do...if they mess up their stereo,it is them doing it,NOT your CD.Don't ever feel guilty about it either.
Let me illustrate:
I once spent a whole week remixing an album,because the client kept saying it sounded VERY different at her stereo at home.Boomy and weird.No matter what I did in the studio,the comment stayed the same...
So, One Fine Evening,I decided to follow along and listen to my mixes through her stereo.Lo and behold,as I had suspected,the stereo had these funny "EQ Preset" buttons in the front,and guess what...they were set to "Hip-Hop EQ",loud and boomy!
The album was a Christmas songs album, so you can imagine what the stereo EQ was doing to it.
After I had removed the offending EQ setting,there was the mix I had made!!!
But,we had already wasted a whole week remixing...at least since I was mixing in TrollPools,I went back to my orignal mixes,and finished soon afterwards.
Needless to say,I learned then and there that I cannot expect the consumer or other party to listen on anything even nearly approaching what I listen to in the studio,and therefore,I don't worry about it,but I also mix for the greater common denominator...i.e. I mix listening to at least 5 different speaker systems,including crappy boomboxes,auratones,yamaha ns10s,fancy 10,000 dollar speakers,in short whatever I can get my ears on.This ensures that I did my job as well as I can,and then I can sleep better.
