Hello all,
Is there any way to get the “convert folder to LLB(see attachment)” option programmatically?
Thank you.

Hi,
Thank you for you auggestion. that was helpful. But making things to be easy I created .LVLIB  physically(i am new to invoke, property node).
Now,(attachment will help)
we are getting Incomplete Population and showing error 56003.
"Invoke Node in Add Folder.vi:7->Add Folder.vi:6->Add Folder.vi:5->Add Folder.vi:4->Add Folder.vi:3->Add Folder.vi:2->Add Folder.vi:1->Project Creation Tool.vi"
after further diggning into error 56003,(http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/error-56003-building-packed-library/td-p/3057332?device-view=desktop...
I found this may due to the conflict present during this automatic building.
To have, sureity of above I tried removing all possible files which may have dependancies(all VI and may be CTL) and only kept files which are impossible to have dependancies (only kept .txt, images and .doc files)and then found it is working exactly want we wanted.
Further I am finding about,
1. how to solve this 'conflicts' automatically ? and
2. why this is happening only when we are building under .lvlib ?
Thank you for your time.

  • How to create a virtual folder in JavaWebServer 2.0

    hi,
i am new to Java servlets and JSP and i am working on Java Web Server 2.0. I know that the default folder for placing servlet class files is - "servlets" under the JWS 2.0 folder and that for JSP files is - "public_html".
I want to know how to make my folder ( say "myfolder" ) which is lying on c:\ , a virtual folder, where i can place my servlets or the JSP pages.
    thanx in advance
    ajay

    [ajayubbott],
I am not sure if you should create another folder to house all your servlets when using Java Web Server 2.0.
The servlet invoker of Java Web Server 2.0 looks at the <server_root directory>/servlets/ directory as the root servlet directory by default and any servlets that is housed under this directory is monitored by the custom class loader provided by Java Web Server 2.0.
This custom class loader will automatically reload any serlvet class files that are modified i.e. a newer version of the servlet that is newly compiled e.g. change in functionality. What this means is that you don't have restart the web server to reload any new version of the existing servlets on the web server.

  • Unable to create virtual folder. Too many folders

    Hi,
We are getting this error while trying to create new folder in UCM (even trying directly from UCM throws same error)
oracle.stellent.ridc.protocol.ServiceException: Unable to create virtual folder. Too many folders
Has anyone experienced this? If yes, please let us know how you resolved it.
    Thanks!

You don't "store" anything in contribution folders. They are just webdav access points. I recommend zero folders personally.
If you want to upload files using webdav, then I suggest using one staging folder, where files can enter the system. When the document is workflowed and/or verified, it is moved out of the folder. It's more likely however that you'll need a few access points for various types of content as each folder enforces specific metadata.
Now I imagine you are after a way to store all the HR bits and pieces of one person together as a unit. Some people use Content Folios. Personally, I'd just use a metadata field that contains the ContentID of the person's master record. Any new content for that person just gets the master ContentID stamped on it. Just search for that ContentID to get all their stuff.
Regarding best practices, there are lots of quality blogs floating around. Stellent/Oracle don't talk about best practice because each system is used by their clients in a unique way... well, that's what they say.

  • Windows File Save dialog freezes a virtual folder

We have a shell namespace  extension that presents a remote document repository as a virtual  folder in the Desktop folder. When the File Save dialog box is opened from  within Adobe Reader or  Acrobat version 9, our  virtual folder appears inactivated. Even though the common dialog box displays  the items in the folder, it is not possible to select any of the items, e.g.,  using a mouse click or key code press.
Note that the same common  dialog when running in open mode works fine. Our virtual folder is enabled, and  an item can be selected for the Open action. It appears that the problem shows  up only when the Save dialog runs from within Adobe Reader 9 or Acrobat  9.
The problem appears to be  limited to Windows 7 and Vista. XP does not have the  problem.
I would like to know  why and how the save dialog gets disabled, and would like to know how  to prevent the dialog from disabling the  virtual folder.

    Hi,
I have followed the example you mentioned to save a picture to the folder shortcut, and the name won't change to the shortcut. Also the picture would be saved into the original folder.
Here is the steps I did:
    1. Create a folder named New folder in My documents:
    2. Select it and then press ctrl + C and right-click on destop choose paste shortcut(named New folder-Shortcut);
    3. Right-click on a picture in one webpage then open the save picture as dialog box;
    4. Navigate to the desktop folder shortcut and double-click into it, the file name field won't change;
    5. My machine is Windows 7 Enterprise SP1.
Would you please tell some more details on how you saved the picture?
In addition, there might be some other applications triggered this action, we may take a look with process monitor:
    The download link here:
    Process monitor
And here is a blog talking about how to use it:

If possible, please redo the action, then upload the result into onedrive and paste the link here.

  • SSRS 2012 With No Virtual Folder

We currently have SSRS URL something like
http://oursqlbox1/CompanyReports.  To make it easier for our users to remember where the reports are, we would like to implement a DNS alias like
http://CompanyReports.  We do this with other Web applcations on our network like SharePoint and Dell K1000.
But, DNS aliasing can only alias the server, but
not server + virtual folder (as my system admin explained to me).  So, even if we aliased oursqlbox1 to CompanyReports, the URL would still be
    http://CompanyReports/CompanyReports<//a>, not real significant improvement.
Is there anyway to set up SSRS to be the default Web site on a server without a virtual folder/virtual directory so users can get to the reports with just
    http://oursqlbox1?
Alternately, does anyone know a way to get a simple URL like
http://CompanyReports to be aliased/etc. to a Web site running in a virtual folder?

    Hi Dan,
As far as I know, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is not support the simply URL. The URL precisely identifies the location of an instance of a report server application on our network. When we create a report server URL, we must specify the following
parts: Host name, Port, Virtual directory, SSL setting.
In the URL, a port is often shared by multiple Web services or applications. For this reason, a report server URL always includes a virtual directory that corresponds to the application that gets the request. We must specify unique virtual directory names
for each Reporting Services application that listens on the same IP address and port.

  • Incoming virtual folder for all email account

How can I make an incoming folder in mail.app like it is on mac: a virtual folder where all incoming messages from all accounts are displayed?
I have several email accounts and it's very uncomfortable to dig into one account, then back to root^ than to another...

You can't - this is up to Apple to provide a "blended" Inbox mailbox for all accounts and the same for the Drafts, Sent, and Trash mailboxes for all accounts as is available with the Mail.app on a Mac.
You can provide Apple your feedback here.

  • Site Studio Error Handler for virtuals folder URLs

    Hi Experts,
we have a ErrorHandler section in sitestudio to handle 404 URLs. It is working fine for site URLs.
My question is .. would it be worked for virtual folder URLs.
IF we have a vitual folder structure like this - /abc/xyz/ and this folder has one file say "abc.html"...
    http://server/siteid/abc/xyz/abc.html - It works fine .....
I user typed any wrong URL like
    http://server/siteid/abc/xyz/abcdefgh.html
would it be handled by Sitestudio ErrorHandler ???

This is the mapping from my first post:
    <instance-name>/webdav-test/newsletters/ <!--$cgipath-->?IdcService=GET_FILE&dDocName=<!--$suffix-->&allowInterrupt=1&RevisionSelectionMethod=LatestReleased&Rendition=web&noSaveAs=1
The only change is I added <instance-name> to mine at the begining (if I don't it won't work because I didn't feel like adding webdav-test as prefix in my apache).
Then I run it like this:
    http://www.example.com/<instance-name>/webdav-test/newsletters/000001
Notice that I put contentId as in 000001, not xyz.htm because it won't work (xyz.htm is not a valid dDocName). This works perfectly fine for me.
I'm guessing in your case it'd run: http://www.example.com/webdav-test/newsletters/000001, you'll have to give the contentId instead of the actual name of the file for that.
    Cheers

  • Bug? Cannot export shared variable, if it's in a virtual folder within an .lvlib

    Hello,
I was trying to keep my libary of shared variables organized by categorizing the variables into different virtual folders. However, it turns out that variables in virtual folders are excluded from exports, even though they (and their folders) are visible in the Multiple Variable Editor.
Is this by design (in LabVIEW 2012)? If so, what's the rationale?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
When there are variables inside nested virtual folders within a Library, the multiple variable editor does not work. If you select several variables in a virtual folder and right-click and select Multiple variable editor, the editor opens but you cannot change anything.
Workaround: Convert folders to libraries or move variables under a single folder.

  • UCM tagging & virtual folder issue

    Hi, I have two issues.
    1. If the ucm has one hundred folders and the number of the files is over the limit of the virtual folder and the file should keep in UCM, how to automatically manage the a lot of files?
    2. I have twenty conteyt types and each content type is group by the different category, should I create the metadata for each category group? Or have better way to manage it?
    Thanks!

    Hi Saurabh,
In order to migrate the Folder structure across the instances the best practice is to use FolderStructureArchive component. Installing this component will add "Folder Archive configuration" link under the Administrations tab.
Click this link and in the name of the Archive give the name of the archive you want to create.
below to this you will find the expand button("+" plus symbol), on expanding it you will be able to see all the existing folders in your contribution folders.
Select the folder you want to archive. Select the parent folder if you want to take the archive of all the sub foilders existing or else select the respective folders.
In the config.cfg file add one variable if you want to archive only the folder structure and not the contents within it:
    ArchiveFolderStructureOnly=true
After adding this entry restart the content server.
Now From the Archiver Admin Applet select the archive created just now and from Actions, select Export.
This will export the selected folders into your archive without any content.
*Note - If you want the content also to be archived along with the folders then set+
    ArchiveFolderStructureOnly=false

Use the Add->Virtual Folder (snapshot) menu item.  That will create the virtual folder with the current VIs that are in that folder.

    It is solved now......
    Solution.....
the contibution folders have a security group "All" and the user that im using to create a new folder was having just R permission to "All" so If you tried to create a new folder from the action list choose link folder then u will get the error that i mentiond above and i think this is the way the content server works "corrent me if im wrong" .now to solve this i gave that user a RW to the "All" security group and now he can create folders.
Note:what i discovred is that when the system folder has a security group defined then the contibuter the contributer that he want to create a new folder under it must have RW to the security group in the Contribution folders.

  • Programatically delete a DAQ device

I have created a system with hardware (a USB DAQ) and software that is to be installed on multiple computers overseas. I want to make the set-up as easy as possible because I don't think the people doing the setup will be very well trained, and I won't be there to fix any problems.  I have created an installer that includes all the hardware as well as software setup, but there is one issue left, and I'm not sure what the best way to solve it.  If the installer is run before the DAQ is connected, then the installer creates a virtual device. If the DAQ is then connected, it is named Dev1, which doesn't work with any of my tasks, of course. I have some code that runs, and verifies the hardware set-up each time the system is started, so I can see if the device with the proper name is virtual, and if so, I can rename the actual and virtual DAQ device to the right names, so my tasks operate properly. However, I now have a virtual device hanging out on my system doing nothing, which I would like to avoid, because there is an outside chance that I will end up on the phone trying to explain to people how to straighten out a system when it goes bad, and I want to keep it as simple as possible.  I have two questions:
Is there some way to delete the virtual device programatically?
Is there some better approach to accomplish what I am trying to do? I thought about not allowing the installer to proceed if there is no DAQ device plugged in, but I don't know if that is possible.

I would tend to agree with John_P1's quote below:
    John_P1 wrote:
I honestly just build up my tasks programmatically.... You can do just about anything that you could do in MAX programmatically via the System Configuration API.
And I would tend to shy away from:
    Jo-Jo wrote:
...I just find [that using MAX] really speed development, and help with maintanence because you can test out all of your tasks in MAX outside of any LabVIEW code. And debug and toubleshoot hardware without using any of your own software, so you know any problems are not software bugs.
once going into production. MAX tends to be a good tool for getting your feet wet after unboxing the hardware, but something you gradually migrate away from after the prototyping phase -- yet occasionally return to, as you mention, if you need to back up to square one for new prototyping or as a sanity check.
It's possible to deploy NCE hardware behavior configurations, but not necessarily desirable. For the same reason it's possible to deploy any arbitrary configuration (INI, XML, ....), yet it's likely more desirable to build this configuration programmatically -- perhaps persisting it to disk if it's a user-modify-able configuration, or if it's desirable to persist user settings between subsequent deployments -- else it might be most desirable to keep the "configuration" hard-coded as essential business logic (as DAQ tasks might tend to be).
Though, it sounds like you have a solution, and that's far more valuable than more work! Keep a tally on whether the current deployment strategy keeps you and your end users happy, and if so, keep it! Else, consider John_P1's advice, which is more likely to scale with your application if things get hairy.

  • Read jpg files and stop programatically

    Hello,
I would like to have my program stop reading the jpg files in a folder programatically. These pictures are formatted similar to a movie, to correspond to a graph. The graphical output will stop programatically but the jpg files continue to be read and outputted. In this situation, the graph will stop but the "movie" will continue. I would like them to both stop at the same time and the last jpg file read at the time when the stop button is pressed to be display. If the program is stopped halfway through the data, the graph will display half the data and the "movie" will also stop halfway through the jpg files. This is similar to pressing the pause button on your VCR or DVD player. I've tried several things an
d none have been successful. Thank you.
    Attachments:
    front_panel_2.vi ‏485 KB

Instead of putting a For loop around your code to display your "movie" you should put a While loop around it. Wire up its condition terminal just like the one for the graph, except use a local vaiable of the stop button. This should make your movie stop about when the graph does. Unfortunatly this won't act quite like a pause button, you won't be able to resart where you left off. It could be done though, you'd just need a bit more coding in both loops.
    Good luck
