VIRTUAL KEYBOARD SpaceKey not autosizing
Hello, So my space button wont autosize on the virtual keyboard. It creates the blank space but doesnt autosize to it, after inputing any other key it autosizes correctly. Could use an extra set of eyes to see what im doing wrong

Been struggling with this, I now made the space function nearly identical to my keyboard function.
Pressing the space key doesnt autoformat the text for some reason Im having trouble understanding, it adds the space but wont show up until I enter an actual letter or number.

When I try to buy ibooks from my ipad, the virtual keyboard is not the same as my computer keyboard, and since my password consists of letters, numbers and symbols, the ipad keeps displaying "incorrect password". Is there any way around this please anybody?

Are you using the virtual keyboard to input your password and you cannot see/find the characters you need on that keyboard?
Or are you trying to use a bluetooth keyboard and pressing the printed key does not produce the right character? -
A word document was emailed to me. I can open the document without a problem on my iPad 2. Is there a way for me to type on the document.... to fill out the form? When I click the fields, the virtual keyboard does not appear.
If you want to edit a word document then you will need an app on your iPad that supports word so that you can copy them to it via 'open in' e.g. Apple's Pages app or a third-party app such as Documents To Go or QuickOffice HD

virtual keyboard does not open when attempting to type in username or password fields. This occurs on multiple websites. HTC Incredible on Verizon network. Current updates on phone. Fennec update dated 9-20-2010. This used to work a couple weeks ago.

I'm running Windows XP home edition. Virtual Keyboard works with Internet Explorer.

The keys on the sides of the space bar will shift the keys to a different set of characters. Pressing the ".?123" key takes you to another layout. On that layout the "#+=" key will shift to another set of characters. Between those 3 layouts you should have access to all of the symbols printed on a regular keyboard. You might want to check your keyboard and international settings in the Settings app if you think that may be an issue. If you are using key combinations to get symbols that are not printed on the physical keyboard, let us know so we can see if there is a way to generate the character/code on the iPad keyboard.

Try a battery pull. Remove your battery while your phone is powered on then replace it.

At times, when I reply to the article in discussion forum, the built-in virtual keyboard did not pop up as usual. Can I manually call for it? Otherwise, I cannot type my reply at all.
Firstly, there is no reply box.
Then why do you want/need the keyboard?
If there is no place to type, you will not get the keyboard to appear.
Actually, when I tap the Quote button, it will go to reply mode with the original article above my reply to be typed in

while attempting to rent a movie on apple tv I was prompted to sign in to the itunes store. My apple id has a space in it but the virtual keyboard does not have a space bar. my id without the space was not accepted. I spent an hour on the phone with two separate apple techies who could not help me nor solve the problem . They advised they would notify the engineering dept at apple. Can anyone on this forum assist. Thanks
Thanks for your reply. I changed to my email id & all is fine now. The mystery is that up to 1/2/09 i was using an id with a space. I had to disconnect apple tv & then reconnect. that was whwn my troubles started

Updated iPad to IOS 5.0.1. The virtual keyboard has vanished and I can't bring it up.
My iPad software was automatically updated to IOS 5.0.1 and the virtual keyboard will not come up now. My bluetooth is off and was not paired with another device so I'm not getting an ambient keyboard being picked up. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Be sure that your SIM is not an old cutted.

Not able to use online banking virtual keyboard with ios 4.3 neither 4.3.2. Used to use with ios 4.2
I used to transfer money via ebanking with my ipad 1 ios 4.2. But since i updated to ios 4.3, i'm not able to do so. Then i bought an ipad 2 and still not able. I updated ios to 4.3.2 yesterday and the problem continue. I can open the bank page without any problem. But when i try to transfer money, it ask for a confirmation key and pops-up an virtual keyboard. Well with ios 4.2 i was able go see the virtual keyboard and enter the key, but with ios 4.3 and 4.3.2, not able to see the keyboard. Safari is set to allow popup windows, but still not able to do so. I installed another webrowser, which allow me to see the virtual keyboard, but when i type the key it doesn't do nothing. Does anyone have an idea how can i solvr this issue? Thanks

Three keys of my keyboard are not working, the cap one, the return key and the space bar, while the virtual keyboard shows to others keys highlighted in orange (^ and `); How to fix it? I writing now with a bluetooth keyboard.
All new keyboards need Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and above for full functionality.
Rather short-sighted of Apple perhaps, but that seems to be a trend these days.
I'm afraid the only fix is to upgrade to SL. Personaly, I'd take it back and get a refund and seek an older keyboard or a third-party one elsewhere. -

I have 3.6. It works fine for me. Kaspersky link filter and virtual keyboard are on the toolbar.
I have upgraded twice now, but each time these and other extensions are not available for the version. So I uninstall and go back to 3.6.
As you are having this spate of upgrades, it would be so much better if we could know what extensions are and are not available before we upgrade.
Why not build the upgrades so that extensions work?Same problem here too. Curious to see what could be causing this. It has been happening for me for the last two years (South Park). Not too big a deal but it would be great for the auto download to work properly.
