Virus? Random words on page are linked to spam sites.

Each web page i visit has various words double-underlined as links. the first time i clicked one, it took me to groupon. i just clicked another and it lead me to lifestylejournal.com with an "article" about car insurance. Grrr. How do i get rid of this? Thanks for the help..

That could be Intellitxt or you might have some malware installed.
If you have Adblock Plus you could add a block for "||intellitxt.com".
Also scan for malware:

Acrobat X trial does not convert figures that are linked visio objects correctly.
I have a Word 2007 document with a figure that is a linked Visio Object.
Acrobat 9 converts the page with the figure correctly.
Acrobat X givcoverts the page with a blank figure and a play button and selecting the play button gives an all black figure.

Advantages and protocol on listing a page of links to other sites

Hi, Once again, I have questions about my site www.freemodelguild.com. the question is more a general question for experienced web designers not about Muse specifically.
Most of the art groups in our area have a page that lists all the other art groups in the area, and so this organization is suggesting we do the same thing. I know having other links on a site can help with our search engine optimization, and we are trying to drive traffic to our site, so I think it's a good idea. However, should I just copy a list of all the other arts organizations? Should I write to their webmasters and ask them to link to us? Should I write and ask for permission to link to them? I just don't know what the protocol is.
Again this is such a non-web savvy group, they know they want a website, but have no idea what should and could be done so I've had wing this thing. I'm a print designer and, of course, things are done a little differently with print.

Generally you would have no problem adding links to other sites without asking. No website owner will tell you you can't as the more links they have coming to their site the better. I have always had mixed feelings on that type of thing. One thing to remember is the more external links you have the more work it is to make sure they all work. Dead links make your site look bad as well as bad for search engines so you would have to constantly be checking that the sites are still operational or the link hasn't changed.
So over the years I personally have found it better to just supply a small handful of links (maybe no more than 5) that I think will benifit my site visitors directly. Almost always it is a very well established long standing site so I know it is worthwhile/relevant and most likely not to dissapear.
Remember that when you do link to an external site to set the target to open in a new browser window. Also keep in mind that the more external links you have the more you are pushing your visitor to somewhere else.

Firefox will not open windows that are linked on a site, for example reviewing a piece of work that has a link which opens it in a new window.

There are links on site that open in new windows and close after you are done. Like A review link/box. The window opens but it's a blank page and the url books just says "search bookmarks and history".

Creating custom lists that are links to SharePoint sites.

I am new to SharePoint 2013 Online and was wondering if there is a non-coding way to build a sub-site from a template that is not initially connected to a site collection. Attach this sub-site to a site an already existing site collection afterwards and
use data from the sub-site that is created, to generate a custom list items that can also be used as links to the sub-site itself.
How I thought this might work would be to create templates for site collections (if that is even possible), and then use a links list or some other type of linked list but not exactly sure how this is done in SharePoint.
Any input on how to go about this would be greatly appreciated as well as any insight as to whether this is even possible to do with out coding. Thanks in advance.

According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to create custom lists that are links to SharePoint sub-sites.
I recommend to create a custom list and add a multiple line column to display the sub-sites url.
Then create a workflow associate a custom list and use “Call HTTP Web Service" action and “Build Dictionary" action to get the count of the sub-sites.
Then use the Loop Stage to create a new item in the custom list and set the multiple line column to the url you get in the dictionary.

Words on pages are highlighted and linked, how do i stop that?

i understand that links are in blue, but i am getting suggested links in other colors and things that may or may not be link is different colors. i even have pictures pop up when i move my mouse over these highlighted words. it's like there are KEY WORDS that LIGHT UP... can i stop this?

hello, this sounds like a problem possibly caused by adware/malware on your pc. please go to ''firefox > addons > extensions'' & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and different other tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner].

All my files are saved on my flashdrive, so the location on the hotspots is the location on the flashdrive. the location however changes when i have it plugged in on a mac, and when i plug it into a pc. so is there a way to change the locations so the computer can find it whethere its on a mac or pc?

How to tell which pages are linked to a template

How can you tell, from a template, all of the pages which it affects.
I have some "junk" templates that are from previous experiments which I am trying to remove, I wouldn't want them to be a part of something important.

Do a simple search on source code in your entire site for the name of the Template file. You will get a Results panel showing every instance of that filename...specifically each page that uses that Template will be on that list.
Ctrl > F > [Find in:] Entire Current Local Site > [Search:] Source Code > [Find:] filename.dwt [Enter/Return]

Pop ups and numbers are links virus?

So out of no where, all numbers on pages are links to sites, and now Im getting a ton of pops ups. Lots are for mac keeper and things to "clean" my computer. Never go on any questionable sites,so this is really odd. PLEASE HELP!!!

You may have installed the "VSearch" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.
Malware is constantly changing to get around the defenses against it. The instructions in this comment are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data before proceeding.
Step 1
From the Safari menu bar, select
          Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Uninstall any extensions you don't know you need, including any that have the word "Spigot," "Trovi," or "Conduit" in the description. If in doubt, uninstall all extensions. Do the equivalent for the Firefox and Chrome browsers, if you use either of those.
Reset the home page and default search engine in all the browsers, if it was changed.
Step 2
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

Right-click or control-click the line and select

I have 2 questions:
01: how to create a link to an etsy online shop

01 –> I am done with my website so far and now I want to put a link to my external online shop at ETSY. I also have an online shop at "DaWanda" and that link works just fine. But the link from ETSY isn´t working. I tried many times, copying and stuff. Still it doens´t go to the ETSY site. What could be wrong here?
02 –> And I want that the original URL of the online shop (www.etsy...onlineshop.com) will show up in the browser. But it still shows the URL of my own homepage insted of the ESTY or DaWanda Onlineshop. How can I change that?
Or is that based on my adjustments of my webhost? Because I made the following adjustments:
The real URL (for example: www.myhomepage-hostingcompany.com) of my homepage doesn´t show up in the browser (when you visit my website) because I´m hiding the part "hostingcompany" and you can only see "www.myhomepage.com"
Maybe because of this adjustment at my hosting service (the "hiding option") the online shop URL doesn´t show up either. Is that the reason?

As you have mentioned you are linking to external site but its not working, how exactly you have linked ? something like "Buy Product" which is linked to external site where Online shop is configured ?
Regarding the URL, the purchase process will show the url of the site it is configured while shopping/Order process, if you want to change this then you would need to do this from your hosting end as you would need to use a redirect link from shopping back to your site. Please get in touch with your hosting provider for more information.

Why are linked documents randomly out of sync with source docs?

Regarding RoboHelp’s Link to Word feature…
I have a RH 9 HTML project on my local drive with several hundred help topics that are “linked as references” from Word documents on a network drive. All was well until recently… several of the linked help topics are showing as “out of sync” even though the source documents have not be changed or moved. The out of sync topics all seem to be randomly picked, and when I update one topic to get things back in sync, another topic appears out of sync. It is not project specific, because I created a new project and created links to the same Word documents and the out of sync issue happened again. I tried removing the cpd file and opening up the project so that a new cpd file is generated, but the problem persists.
Any thoughts on why this is happening? Is it some sort of connection issue?

Hi, I understand about the mismatch…the problem is there shouldn’t be any mismatches, because the source documents didn’t change at all, and no updates were made to the html help topics in RoboHelp. The mismatches appear for no reason that I am aware of. They are very random and I can “fix” the mismatches by performing an “update” for a few linked topics, but then a few more mismatches randomly appear.
I don’t use a Master Page…can you think of anything else I should look into?

Random words disappear from pdf and printed page

I work for a newspaper and we have had an ongoing problem from week to week of random words dropping off pages. It happens with the same font family each time but usually only occurs on one page a week. These fonts are used throughout the entire paper and has no problems in other places. The problem seems totally random. I usually send groups of pages (about 25)and the printer then extracts the pages.
They say the words sometimes drop off when the pages are extracted in acrobat.
I'm using indesign cs6, with the default "high quality print" setting. The font in question is the Knockout family from the Hoefler foundry. It is open type.
Does anyone have a solution for this? We had an entire headline drop off last week resulting in the printer having to reprint the entire paper... Not so good.
I have tried reinstalling the font but it has not helped.

Yes I export directly from InDesign and then send the files via FTP after that. Once they receive the files, they they use the Document/Extract tool within Acrobat to separate the files. Apparently this is when they find that letters on the page have been replaced by X'd out boxes.
Their fix is to open the orignal set of pages in Photoshop and rasterize the problem page. I would rather they don't do this so that we don't lose quality. Also, when fonts drop from the page, they can be easily overlooked by an unattentive printer.

What exactly is the problem?
Your description is so muddled I am having trouble working it out.
How does your exported .doc file mess up websites? In fact what does it have to do with websites?
Where, how and what are the random words turning up?
