Visio Webpart Blank in IE9

Hello,
I have a problem displaying Visio web drawings in the SharePoint 2013 Visio Web Access web part. I have checked / done the following:
1) The Visio Graphics service is running and configured on the SharePoint farm.
2) The Visio Web Services features are running in the site.
3) I have created a simple Visio diagram and saved it as a vdw file in to a SharePoint 2013 Document Library
4) I then edited a page and inserted the Visio Web Services web part.
5) In the web part settings I have specified the location of the vdw file, then saved the page.
If I now open the page in Internet Explorer 9 I can see Visio UI elements in the web part, but the diagram is not there. I have also tested with IE11 running on Windows Server 2012 and it does not work there either.
If I open the page with Firefox or Chrome I can see and interact with the Visio drawing without issue.
I have checked the html being sent to IE and compared it with the html being sent to Chrome. The major difference is within a <div> with a id of "[some_random_guid]_RenderingArea". In both browsers the first child is a <script language="xml">
block. In the Chrome version this is populated with what looks like an xml file containing a json representation of my Visio drawing. In IE, this <script> block is empty.
Has anyone else seen this before? anyone know what could be causing the issue?
Thanks
Jason

Another update...
Looking at the Script section in F12 Developer Tools, there are a couple of errors. Two files are showing as "Invalid Character" and there is a further script error
'VisioWebAccess' is undefined
The script files with the "Invalid Character" appear to be junk files - see screen below:
I'm guessing one of the two corrupt files contains the "VisioWebAccess" javascript. The missing files are:
https://docs-ote.scee.net/ScriptResource.axd?d=7W990OkShhn-UuzTvQgSj74iSpl69gfBs_oIxDJXrXLWBNtLe5AkOuweVBEt3zZr_CkC3BDXuRGskW5HYrYuJQdFwfUnxJOMHGUXR58nyISoFTieSL4MAB8P-KPRd_Mvri-nOEhNST0wQ5Hd8zUAuNoNLWqHN8Zo722-y1x-v7Hifwd2TlP74o2MdHsUfRBIKG-35bywVDGNmAH-fLmL9o4YjAovRTiT1x3o1YgWAUGZ6Flqmkuo_zYzpwI9zSYP0&t=7cbeda1b
and
https://docs-ote.scee.net/ScriptResource.axd?d=QociyCzBSMjFUL6mo8zEw1uz9deIuxqiHxuXJWK5NxbUvVQUWGbRKcLNMAvITQqd0g5TpGHPviTMYVtsCswDnRoudhEg3uoSjhV1urD7-QBlct44EmaAMZocpQjblp7HxG8o2JnKu7YQtJMo1LUACDg-cGRyOjXvb_-PPI7_5wXBDjjNNDSpsFSwj8Nka7jZu9uJSU-LFv_JK17MuZSOZwA0qjOJAlE4az2Yxr1GRLBEqohbhECbOhrWadsQfEhN0&t=ffffffff8c124f94
After checking the Chrome version of this, the files are intact and the first one is pulling in
"VisioWebAccess.js".
The question now is what could be doing this? My first stop is our network guys (the https requests are being accellerated by a Cisco ACE). Anyone else have any ideas?
Thanks,
Jason

  • Blank silverlight webpart blank/problem loading.

    Hi,
    I have a strange problem for some users when they trying to connect to the self service portal.
    The setup is on several Windows 2012R2 with System Center 2012R2, both SQL 2012 and 2008R2.
    The SharePoint 2010SP2 databases is hosted on the SQL 2008R2. The site is accessed through SSL (address it-selfservice.domain.name). Site Bindings, IIS Application settings and
    web.config is configured according to this article (
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/servicemanager/archive/2012/05/04/faq-why-is-my-self-service-portal-service-catalog-blank.aspx ).
    The problem that some users get is that the silverlight webpart is blank, both by accessing the site from local browser and from XenApp 6 with published desktops.
    Test scenario for two users:
    My test account and a user account. Both have the same GPOs applying (I have also denied the GPO with IE settings for those users) and both got new
    profiles including app data.
    Working:
    With IE Default settings, both accounts can access the site after entering credentials in both basic auth forms. The Silverlight webpart is working.
    Not working:
    With the site added to the Local intranet zone and browser restarted, at this moment only my test account get the Silverlight webpart. The user account got it blank.
    With developer console open with network recording on i can se some different. The user wont start downloading the content in /ContentHost/ClientBin/*.zip. Refreshing the site for the
    user the content in /ContentHost/ClientBin/*.zip is downloaded exactly like my Test user. Event the Silverlight webpart is showing all content without the Request offerings.

    I manage to solve this....
    Some users have large amount of groupmemberships (up to 150). At the moment we are using NTLM as authentication provider to access the self service portal.
    Changing authentication providers order on the webcontent site fixed it. Instead of Negotiate at the first Place...move NTLM up.

  • Spry Table displaying blank in IE9

    Spry table created in XML using CS5 (SpryData.js - version 0.52 - Spry Pre-Release 1.6.1) at http://www.jacquipatterson.com.au/slideshow_celebrant.html
    The table displays as required in Firefox, Chrome, Navigator but draws a blank page with IE9. I have searched all over for a similar case but to no avail.
    I would be most praisefull if someone has a solution to this annoying problem or has a suggestion on how to get around it.

    Change line 35 to
    var slides_120609 = new Spry.Data.XMLDataSet("http://www.jacquipatterson.com.au/Slideshowjune.xml", "Root/Row", {sortOnLoad: "venue", sortOrderOnLoad: "ascending"});

  • Flash player blank in IE9

    Flash Player does not work in IE9. This problem appears to have started when I tried the 64-bit version of the player. I have since:
    Uninstalled and reinstalled IE9.
    Uninstalled Flash Player 10 and 11.
    Installed Flash Player 10.
    Reset Explorer settings to default.
    Open http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ in Internet Explorer 9
    Flash video does not play (video area is white).
    Version # displays for a fraction of a second before becoming blank.
    Right-click on either Flash area opens Flash drop-down menus.
    Note: on other sites with Flash content, audio plays properly but video is blank.
    Firefox, Chrome and Safari work properly.
    I'm using Windows 7 (64 -bit), IE9.0.1 (32-bit) and Flash Player 10.3.181.34 (32-bit)
    I suspect the uninstaller missed a file or something similar, but I don't know where to look (I'm primarily a Mac user).
    TIA,  Eric

  • Visio Webpart-links opens in new tab

    Hi,
    I have created a Visio-document with some shapes. I have set hyperlinks to other .aspx-files in the
    SitePages-library on these shapes.
    Everytime I click on a linked shape it opens in a new tab. How can I solve this?
    For your information: The ShapeSheet in Visio is correctly set up. "NewWindow" is set to "False".
    I have Sharepoint 365.
    Thanks in advance!
    Thomas

    Hi  Thomas,
    According to your description, my understanding is that the hyperlink of
     Visio document  opens with new tab.
    For my test, I create a rectangle with hyperlink
    in a Visio document and  set the NewWindow property of the hyperlink to false using VB coding as below:
    Public Sub NewWindow_Example()
    Dim vsoHyperlink As Visio.Hyperlink
    Set vsoHyperlink = ActivePage.DrawRectangle(0,0,5,5).AddHyperlink
    vsoHyperlink.Address = "http://www.microsoft.com/"
    vsoHyperlink.NewWindow = False
    End Sub
    But this hyperlink opens in new tab in my SharePoint 2013 Online as your scenario. It is by default that SharePoint 2013 Visio Service deals with
     the hyperlink of Visio document. There is no approach that Microsoft Visio keep the same location when it follows a hyperlink to open a Web page.

    Hi,
    In the “Property Mappings” of the Content Search Web Part, we can see that the Picture field will only display the value retrieved from “PublishingImage;PictureURL;PictureThumbnailURL”,
    because there is corresponding column in OOTB Document Library holds the valid value of a thumbnail image for a document, that’s why documents from Document Library display no thumbnail image in a Content Search Web part.
    If you want to display thumbnail images for documents of Document Library, you can add a custom Picture column to hold the thumbnail image of a document, set the “Property
    Mappings” to display this custom Picture column.
    By doing this, every time uploading a document to this library, setting a thumbnail image(provided by common users, not generated by SharePoint automatically) for
    that custom Picture column, in the Content Search Web Part, the thumbnail image will display.
    Thanks

  • Visio document imported into a SharePoint VisioWebAccess webpart : open links in new tab or window

    Hello.
    I'm using a SharePoint Server 2010, with a Visio Web Access WebPart.
    With Visio 2010, I created a vdw document which I put in this webpart.
    This works very well, but i have some hyperlinks which I want to be opened in a new tab (or a new window), so that he SharePoint page won't be replaced by the target page.
    So, in Visio, I tried to modify the ShapeSheet of each hyperlink, by setting the "NewWindow" to true. Unfortunately, it does not work : links are replacing the current page.
    I found nothing on the web that could give me a trick to do this.
    Has anyone an idea ?
    Thanks a lot
    _David

    Hello _David C,
    You can create some JavaScript code that will open the hyperlink in a new window. Here is a JavaScript sample that will open the first hyperlink applied to a shape in a new browser window. I have tested it in both IE and FireFox.
    <script type="text/javascript">
    // Declare the global variables for the script, for the Visio Web Access Web Part, the active page in the Web Part,
    // the shapes on the active page, and the shape on the page without hyperlinks.
    var vwaControl;
    var vwaPage;
    var vwaShapes;
    var coldShape;
    // Add a handler to the AJAX Sys.Application.load event.
    Sys.Application.add_load(onApplicationLoad)
    function onApplicationLoad()
    try{
    // Capture a reference to the current instance of the Visio Web Access Web Part.
    // Add a handler to the 'diagramcomplete' event.
    vwaControl= new Vwa.VwaControl(getVWAWebPartID());
    vwaControl.addHandler("diagramcomplete", onDiagramComplete);
    catch(err){
    alert(err);
    function getVWAWebPartID()
    // Search all of the <div> tags on the page to find the div tag with the ID of the VWA Web Part.
    var divArray = document.getElementsByTagName("div");
    var webPartElementID;
    for (var i = 0; i < divArray.length; i++) {
    var node = divArray[i];
    if (node.className == "VisioWebAccess")
    webPartElementID = node.parentNode.parentNode.id;
    break;
    return webPartElementID;
    function onDiagramComplete()
    try{
    // Set the vwaPage and vwaShapes variables to the active page and the shapes collection on that page, respectively.
    vwaPage = vwaControl.getActivePage();
    vwaShapes = vwaPage.getShapes();
    // Set the 'cold shape' for the current active page in the drawing.
    selectColdShape();
    // Remove the handler from the shape selection changed event and then add it back to the event.
    vwaControl.removeHandler("shapeselectionchanged", onShapeSelectionChanged);
    vwaControl.addHandler("shapeselectionchanged", onShapeSelectionChanged);
    catch(err)
    alert(err);
    onShapeSelectionChanged = function (source, args)
    try{
    // Get the array of hyperlinks from the selected shape.
    var vwaShape = vwaShapes.getItemById(args);
    var newURLArray = vwaShape.getHyperlinks();
    var newURL;
    // Check to see whether the shape has any hyperlinks.
    if (newURLArray.length > 0)
    newURL = newURLArray[0].value;
    // Check to see if the hyperlink goes to another page in the drawing.
    if (newURL.indexOf('vdw') < 0)
    // Open the hyperlink in a new window.
    var newWindow = window.open(newURL);
    else
    // Set the active page to the new page.
    setNewPage(newURL);
    catch(err)
    alert(err);
    function selectColdShape() {
    try {
    // Set variables with the names of shapes on the pages that do not contain hyperlinks.
    // Customize the values for these variables to fit your web drawing.
    var coldShapePg1 = "Sheet.6";
    var coldShapePg2 = "Sheet.10";
    // Check to see if the coldShape exists on this page.
    if (vwaShapes.getItemByName(coldShapePg1)) {
    // Set the active shape to the shape without hyperlinks on page 1.
    coldShape = vwaShapes.getItemByName(coldShapePg1);

    // Set the active page in the drawing to the page ID passed in as argument.
    var indexOfAmp = pageId.indexOf("&");
    var page = pageId.slice(6, indexOfAmp);
    vwaControl.setActivePage(page);
    </script>
    Note that this code requires that each page have a "cold shape" that does not have any hyperlinks applied to it. In my test drawing, I added a hidden shape (in ShapeSheet, Width = 0, Height = 0) that did not have any hyperlinks. This is because the Vwa.shapeselectionchanged
    event fires when you switch pages, which creates the possibility that the JavaScript code will open a new window when you change pages in the viewer.

  • Page viewer webpart (set to network folder) works in ie11...but not ie9

    Hello all,
    I have configured a pvwp to point to a network folderon my app sever.
    Any user running ie 11 who opens the page containing the webpart can see the contents of the shared folder.
    Any user running ie 9 who opens the page containing the webpart sees a browsers error saying: Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage.
    If I have a user with IE 9 log in to sharepoint using a PC running IE 11 they are then able to see the content so it does not appear to be user permissions (in sharepoint or on the share) related.
    Does anyone have any ideas on this?
    Thank you!

    Hi,
    As I understand, page viewer web part works in IE11 but not in IE9 with same user account.
    Could you please test the issue on other browsers and see if it works? Make sure you are using 32-bit IE browser.
    Please perform the steps below on your IE9:
    1.Reset IE settings via Internet Explorer options > Advanced tab > Reset.
    2.Add your SharePoint sites to trusted sites or local intranet sites via Internet Explorer options > Security tab.
    3.Use Compatibility settings for your SharePoint sites.
    4.You could also try installing latest update to your IE 9.

  • WebUI Smartform Preview - blank window in IE9, works in Chrome (partly)

    Hi there,
    I am seeing an issue with Order Print Preview of PDF(Smartform) in WebUI, wondering if anyone had similar issue.
    Have a smartform configured to 'Preview Output' under SPPFCADM->CRM_ORDER.
    It has been working fine for a long time (years) in all systems. I now need to make a change to the form.
    It still works fine in Prod. system but in Development system if I 'Preview Output' in Internet Explorer 9, it gives me a completely blank Pop-up.
    No error message.
    I checked other posts, checked in SICF (Active, Handler is correct), checked notes - no luck.
    I debugged the form and CRM_ORDER_EXEC_SMART_FORM, there are no errors given.
    then I tried in Chrome browser - the Pop-up works (partly) - I can see the PDF form in a small window that opens, but when I try to make window bigger the actual form stays small but I can scroll up and down to see it.
    I have changed some settings in IE9 (Compatibility etc.) but with no effect.
    This worked fine a few months ago!
    Any ideas?
    thanks,
    David

  • How to Hide Page View Webpart Option E.g.: Refresh, Open in Visio, Close.

    Hello all- Is there any way to hide Refresh, Open in Visio, Close option from Page Viewer Webpart, using Java script or client side method.
    <script type="text/javascript" src="https://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.min.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    $(document).ready(function()
        $('#VwaToolbarButton').css('display','none');
        $('#VwaRefreshButton').css('display','none');
        $('#VwaButtonNormal').css('display','none');

    Hi Kamal,
    As I understand, you want to hide the Refresh, Open in Visio, Close option in the page viewer web part by JavaScript or client side method in SharePoint 2010.
    You could add the custom CSS code to hide the Refresh, Open in Visio, Close option in the page by content edit web part.
     You could use CSS 'visibility: hidden’ or 'display: none’ to hide the buttons.
    You could add the CSS code to content edit web part as below:
    <style type="text/css">
    //your custom css code.
    </style>

  • Report Viewer Webpart IE9 issue -Reports not visible

    Hi,
    we have several installations using Sharepoint 2010 together with Reporting Services 2008 and 2008R2.
    When displaying reports in Sharepoint through the report viewer webpart, the rendering in IE9 will sometimes not display the report. This means
    the Sharepoint site including the report viewer headline is visible, but the report itself is not rendered. After pressing ctrl+F5 the report most of the time will show up. When viewing the logs of reporting services it is clear that the report has been executed,
    but as stated it was not visible in IE9.
    Even when forcing IE9 to render all Websites in compatibility mode there is no change. Out of 10 times the report is roughly 3 times not visible.
    On systems still using IE8 there are no problems at all.
    Any ideas?
    Regards,
    Andre

    Run Internet Explorer, use Alt + T to open Tools menu, choose Internet Options.
    2.
    Choose Advanced tag, click “Reset…” button, click OK in the pop-up box.
    3.
    Click OK to close Internet Options, then restart Internet Explorer.
    In you have any progress, please let me know.

  • Visio 2013 opens my old VSD files fine - but they are blank and do not show content

    Hello,
    I have downloaded a trial of Visio Pro 2013.  I opened an existing VSD file and when I open it, it is blank.  No error message or anything.  Shows it open but it's a blank screen.
    It opens fine in previous version but blank in 2013.  Is there some default or layer that needs to be turned on?  Something that needs to be enabled?  Why can't I see the contents?
    Regards,
    Elizabeth

    Hi,
    Visio 2013 has a dramatically different file format.
    Method 1. Open the VSD file in Visio 2013 ,it’ll display in Compatibility Mode and use Compatibility checker to see if the file is normal. And I recommend you convert the VSD file to VSDX to test.
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/visio-help/compatibility-between-different-versions-of-visio-HA102749766.aspx
    Method 2. There is a setting in Visio 2013 in File > Options > Trust Centre > File Block Settings. Don’t tick “Visio 2003-2010 Binary Drawings, Templates and Stencils”.
    Method 3. Open Visio 2013 in safe mode, run visio.exe /safe. If it can open normally, disable some add-ins from File > Option >Add- Ins.
    Method 4. Clean Temp folder.
    The temporary copy of the drawing file is named ~$$FileName.~vsd.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/826418
    Method 5. Repair Visio 2013 from Control Panel > Program and Features.

  • IE9 wont open pages, just give a new tab thats blank

    IE9 won't open a lot of pages.  It just opens a new tab that is a blank screen and a empty tab title.  The extension types all vary.  However, if I cut and paste the link in a new tab it will work.  I already tried to down grade the
    version to 8, but it says its unsupported by windows 7 64 bit, funny I started with 8...

    Hi,
    You may be disturbed by some add-ons or malware, you’d better run Internet Explorer with “no-add-ons” model first.
    1.
    Open Start Menu, then click all programs, select Accessories, open the  system tools;
    2.
    Right-click Internet Explorer(No Add-ons), run as Administrator.
    If the problem disappears, it could be caused by Internet Explorer add-ons, you could try following steps to narrow down.
            1.    In Internet Explorer, click Tools and click Manage add-ons.
     2.    Disable the Google add-ons and keep the needed items on.
     3.    After finding the related item, double click the item and select Remove.
     4.    Restart Internet Explorer and check the issue again.
    Also you can reset your IE settings. Here is an official article can be referred to.
    How to reset Internet Explorer settings
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737
    If the issue persists, you could restore the Internet Explorer by turn off and turn on the Internet Explorer feature in the control panel ->Programs and Features.
    Note: Before you restore internet explorer, please perform a system backup first and backup your favorites.
    Besides of above suggestions, you’d better scan your computer and clear malware in time.
    Hope that helps.

  • Visio Blank WICs / Modules

    I've been searching high and low for a "blank" stencil to fill in module and WIC areas of a 2821 router that I'm diagraming.  Does anyone have any suggestions or a link to where I can get a hold of something that will work?  It seems that Cisco is somewhat lax lately on their visio stencil offerings.
    Thanks all!

    HI Nick,
    The reason you cannot easily ungroup that image is because, as part of the production process, we convert the Visio geometry to Enhanced Metafile Image (emf) format and embed it in a Visio shape.  There are several reasons for this including:
    Improve performance when dragging, dropping, resizing, and moving shapes
    Maintain proportional text font size when resizing
    Every piece of Visio geometry and text has a ShapeSheet behind it which contains data about the shape's contents, size, postition, formatting, etc.  When a device shape is rendered with the level of detail we apply, the simple act of moving a shape will produce a lag because every geometric object's ShapeSheet is recalculationg.  When we convert it to a .emf image, it is still a vector image (as opposed to bitmapped or pixel image) so it remains sharp.  However, Visio does not need to handle all of those calculations since it's just an image with one ShapeSheet behind it.
    When you ungroup the shape, Visio breaks up the metafile image back to individual geometric objects but it does not conserve all of the original information that went into the source Visio drawing of the device that was converted to metafile.  Therefore you often see unexpected results.
    OK, so that's why you are having trouble ungrouping.  The key question is that you need something that's missing from the stencils.  I've run a blank cover plate shape for you and it's been uploaded to
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-22049.  This shape will not be in the official Routers-Cisco 2900.vss on the download page until the next revision to that product stencil.  I hope this is helpful.
