VMI Concept and SNP Deployment

Dear Experts ,
I am currently Exploring VMI in SNP
Below steps are done
1) Master Master, plant,PIR,sales order , stock are cif to APO
2) Manually Enter Forecast in the SNP planning book
3) when i run Heuristics i got two PR based or the my demand
4) now when i run SNP deployment , the PR is not picked
5) how to push the PR to ECC 6
Please advice
Thanks & Regards

  • Concept and Steps of Distribution Resource Planning.....please reply

    Hi Experts,
Can anyone tell me about the concept and steps to exicute Distribution resource planning in pp?
    Please help experts.
    Regards,
    sap pp
Edited by: sap  pp on Jan 15, 2009 9:48 AM

    Hi,
    Distribution Resource Planning
    Purpose
Distribution resource planning provides a framework for determining the need to replenish
    inventory by:
Linking market requirements with manufacturing and demand management
Relating current inventory positions and demand forecasts to production scheduling
Matching material supply to manufacturing demand, and customer demand to product
    supply
    Process Flow
    1. You define all nodes in the network including plants, distribution centers (DCs),
warehouses, and stock transfer points using the Distribution Network tool.
    2. You set up the material master record for each node. In MRP 4 of the material master
record, you must define the deployment strategy for each material (the fair and push
distribution options) as well as deployment horizon (push horizon). For the push horizon,
enter the number of days for which the system considers the ATD quantity and any
additional quantity produced. Any quantity produced beyond the push horizon is not
    considered in the deployment calculation.
    3. To calculate an available to deploy (ATD) quantity, use the availability check rule, DE, in
Customizing, u2018Carry out control for availability check.u2019 The availability check and the
deployment checking rule, determine the MRP elements that are used to calculate the
    ATD quantity.
    4. You create a forecast for each DC; for example, a sales forecast.
    5. You transfer the forecasted data to Demand Management. The system creates
    independent requirements.
    6. You perform a DRP run in each DC and in each supplying plant. The DRP run considers
the quota arrangements defined in the network, available stock, sales orders, and
    independent requirements.
The DRP run in the DCs creates releases for stock transport requisitions in the
          supplying plants.
The DRP run in the supplying plants creates planned orders for production.
    7. You convert planned orders into production orders for manufacturing.
You run deployment to produce stock transport orders for distribution of stock from the supplying
    plants to the DCs.
Hope you are a bit clear now.
Still not, refer the following link for easy understanding. Its given with simple steps and examples,

  • GATP: How to consider SNP Deployment demand (EG) into ATP check ?

    Hello experts,
we have a location 1000 where we run GATP. This location serves customers directly (via normal SalesOrders) and serves other locations like a DC via STOs. Serving other location is done (in a nutshell) using SNP which creates SNP STOs and afterwards we run Deployment to push out avialable stock. We would like to consider the so called "SNP Deployment Requisitions" (EG - "Deployment: Release for stk transf. req") as demand which the GATP product availability check should take into account. By this we would like to make sure "serving other locations" from locaiton 1000 is accounted for while performing ATP check for the Sales Orders in location 1000.
Problem: ATP category EG has been added to the ATP customizing (check control in SPRO) - but these SNP Deployment Reqs do not have a "confirmed qty" looking into RRP3 / ATP tab - only a required qty. THis means these elements are not considered while doing an ATp check although the demand categorty is in scope of the ATP check. I checked the cumulation rules - we are using 3 (consider req qty during create, consider conf qty during chg) - but this doesn't help even with the other rules we have there.
I wonder if there is a way to tell the system to consider the ATP cat. EG as demand correctly - even without a confirmed qty. Or, does somebody known how to generate/make SNP deployment reqs  "with conf qty" (I checkded SNP deployment heuristicsdocumentation and SAP help etc. - without any result).
    Regards
    Thomas

    Hi Elanie/Thomas,
We have similar issue where we are trying to confirm deployment demand in supplying location to reserve HUB demand over customer orders.
I tried the setting mentioned by Thomas but ended up getting the same error as Elania " No orders selected by filter setting"
"performing an GATP-BOP run on SNP Deployment PReqs does only require to setup a respective BOP "filter type" as follows:
--> add ATP cat "EG" while maintaining the filter type in tcode S_AP9_75000212
--> use the filter type in your /SAPAPO/BOP run
Be sure that you select orders / run your BOP in thesupplying location (where SNP deployment orders are of ATP cat = EG)."
Please let me know if you have any work around or solution for this .
    Thank you,
    Sai

  • Characteristics based planning: SNP deployment supports characteristics?

    Dear experts,
Does SCM7.0 support SNP deployment with characteristics (configurable products)?
I am aware that SCM7.0 includes PP/DS deployment features that support characteristics, but I must use a SNP deployment method.
    Thank you very much.
Edited by: Hector Mediavilla on Sep 26, 2011 1:41 PM

    Hello,
It's a pity that the functionality is not supported yet up to the most recent version.
Please check the below contenct from note 1446894:
    +Characteristics Based Deployment
SNP Deployment does not support Characteristic based planning. The functional scope of PP/DS Deployment is restricted compared to Deployment in SNP:
    - only Deployment Heuristics (no Real-Time Deployment and no Deployment Optimization)
    - no Push Deployment
    - no Fair Share between stock transfer demands and independent requirements+

  • Difference between dp and snp?

    hi friends,
what is main difference between with dp and snp. why we use both in apo. can u give me any scenerio with any industry?
    regards
    suneel.

    Dear Suneel,
<a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm50/helpdata/en/8f/9d6937089c2556e10000009b38f889/frameset.htm">Demand Planning</a> - Use APO Demand Planning (DP) to create a forecast of market demand for your company's products. This component allows you to take into consideration the many different causal factors that affect demand. The result of APO Demand Planning is the demand plan.
Demand Planning is a powerful and flexible tool that supports the demand planning process in your company. User-specific planning layouts and interactive planning books enable you to integrate people from different departments, and even different companies, into the forecasting process. Using the DP library of statistical forecasting and advanced macro techniques you can create forecasts based on demand history as well as any number of causal factors, carry out predefined and self-defined tests on forecast models and forecast results, and adopt a consensus-based approach to reconcile the demand plans of different departments. To add marketing intelligence and make management adjustments, you use promotions and forecast overrides. The seamless integration with APO Supply Network Planning supports an efficient S&OP process.
<a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm50/helpdata/en/1c/4d7a375f0dbc7fe10000009b38f8cf/frameset.htm">Supply Network Planning</a> - APO Supply Network Planning (SNP) integrates purchasing, manufacturing, distribution, and transportation so that comprehensive tactical planning and sourcing decisions can be simulated and implemented on the basis of a single, global consistent model. Supply Network Planning uses advanced optimization techniques, based on constraints and penalties, to plan product flow along the supply chain. The result is optimal purchasing, production, and distribution decisions; reduced order fulfillment times and inventory levels; and improved customer service.
Starting from a demand plan, Supply Network Planning determines a permissible short- to medium-term plan for fulfilling the estimated sales volumes. This plan covers both the quantities that must be transported between two locations (for example, distribution center to customer or production plant to distribution center), and the quantities to be produced and procured. When making a recommendation, Supply Network Planning compares all logistical activities to the available capacity.
The Deployment function determines how and when inventory should be deployed to distribution centers, customers, and vendor-managed inventory accounts. It produces optimized distribution plans based on constraints (such as transportation capacities) and business rules (such as minimum cost approach, or replenishment strategies).
The Transport Load Builder (TLB) function maximizes transport capacities by optimizing load building.
In addition, the seamless integration with APO Demand Planning supports an efficient S&OP process.
Supply Network Planning is used to calculate quantities to be delivered to a location in order to match customer demand and maintain the desired service level. Supply Network Planning includes both heuristics and mathematical optimization methods to ensure that demand is covered and transportation, production, and warehousing resources are operating within the specified capacities.
The interactive planning desktop makes it possible to visualize and interactively modify planning figures. You can present all key indicators graphically. The system processes any changes directly via liveCache.

    Naveen.

  • New G/L Concept and Special purpose ledger

    Hi Gurus,
What is the new G/L Concept ?
What is the purpose of new G/Lconcept?
And what is the special purpose ledger ?
Please give me the proper answer for above questions,
    Regards,
    Baltha

    Hi Batha,
    General Ledger Accounting (FI-GL) (New)
The central task of G/L accounting is to provide a comprehensive picture of external accounting and accounts. Recording all business transactions (primary postings as well as settlements from internal accounting) in a software system that is fully integrated with all the other operational areas of a company ensures that the accounting data is always complete and accurate.
Beyond fulfilling the legal requirements, General Ledger Accounting also fulfills other requirements for modern accounting:
    - Parallel Accounting
General Ledger Accounting allows you to perform parallel accounting by managing several parallel ledgers for different accounting principles.
    - Integration of Legal and Management Reporting
In General Ledger Accounting, you can perform internal management reporting in parallel with legal reporting. For this purpose, the Profit Center Accounting functions are integrated with General Ledger Accounting. Furthermore, you can generate financial statements for any dimension (such as profit center).
    - Segment Reporting
General Ledger Accounting supports the segment reports required by the accounting principles IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) and US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). For this purpose, General Ledger Accounting contains the Segment dimension.
    - Cost of Sales Accounting
You can perform cost of sales accounting in General Ledger Accounting. For this purpose, General Ledger Accounting contains the Functional Area dimension.
    Features
General Ledger Accounting comprises the following functions for entering and evaluating posting data:
    - Choice between group level or company level
    - Automatic and simultaneous posting of all subledger items in the appropriate general ledger accounts (reconciliation accounts)
    - Simultaneous updating of the parallel general ledgers and of the cost accounting areas
    - Real-time evaluation of and reporting on current posting data, in the form of account displays, financial statements with different balance sheet versions, and additional analyses.
In this way, General Ledger Accounting automatically serves as a complete record of all business transactions. It is the central and up-to-date component for reporting. Individual transactions can be checked at any time in real time by displaying the original documents, line items, and monthly debits and credits at various levels such as:
    - Account information
    - Journals
    - Totals/transaction figures
    - Balance sheet/profit and loss evaluations
However, SAP still offers to choose between the New GL and the old Classic GL way of accounting.
There are certain limitations in the new GL and clients are adopting to the new gl concept.

  • Java platform and Java Deployment should be updated but there is no other version, always the warning to update but thats not possible

Java Platform 7u9 and Java Deployment Kit plug-ins are yellow and asked to be updated.
The problem is that there is no other version than I have already installed.
Even if I try to instal this latest version again I've get the message that I already have the latest version.
The same problem was with Flashplayer where I installed the latest version but three days Firefox asked to update the plugin.
The last one is now ok but Java Platform and Java Deployment Kit is hopeless.
Why it ask for an update if there is none?
What should or can I do? I always be careful and patch my pc if necesserry.
All my friends who are working with Firefox have the same problem.
Can anybody tell me whats going on here?
    greetings, Mimi321

    Hi
There is still an issue for me. When i check to see if add-ons are up to date it identifies "Java(TM) Platform SE 7 U9" as out-of-date and gives me an orange "Update" action. When i hit this it takes me to the Java website giving me "Recommended Version 7 Update 9". This is the one i've already got so i cannot get rid of the orange Update action buttons.
Furthermore, if i try the link earlier in this thread to test to see which version of Java i should be using it says "Congratulations! You have the recommended Java installed (Version 7 Update 9)" so i'm not sure what this talk of version 7.10 is about?

  • Status of a specified package and program deployment

    Good morning.
In the report "Status of a specified package and program deployment", I noticed there are 2 groups of reports; "Status of Targeted Resources" and "Resource Receipt Status". Each group has their own substatus:
    Status of Targeted Resources:
Accepted - No Further Status, Succeded, Waiting
    Resource Receipt Status:
    Accepted, Expired, No Status
Can anyone guide me on the following?
    1. The meaning of each status (Accepted-NFS, Succeeded, Waiting, Accepted, Expired, No Status).
    2. Some of the count for status is less than what is displayed on the report after I exported to csv format. What does this mean? Does it mean some clients not detected or something?
    3. Total percentage of each "Status of Targeted Resources" and "Resource Receipt Status" is around 100.1% and 99.9% respectively as per print screen below. What does this mean?
Your guidance is much appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi,
Accepted - No Further Status – Back end installation may be running and need to wait for some time to get the actual status
Succeeded – Deployment installed successfully without any issues
No Status - Systems are not online or has issue with SMS Agent, or not received the policy, if the system is online then this status must change in one hour time (if the status not changed then you may Suspect the issue with SMS / SCCM agent
Accepted – Deployment can be installed in few mins, as it will start downloading the software from remote /local system
    Expired – Deployment is expired

  • Should e-book Data Guard Concepts and Administration be useless for us?

I think The Data Guard Broker is an easy and efficient way to manage a Data Guard configuration. The Data Guard Broker provides us with two efficient tools: EM Console and DGMGRL. We can do everything we want for Data Guard system.
Why we spend so much time to read Oracle e-book Data Guard Concepts and Administration? I think it is useless. Only Broker is enough?

    Frank,
The thing is GUI tool itself is also program that need some one to manage. The developer of such tools cannot take care unlimited possibilities in the real world.
Just check how many threads in this forum about why emca, dbca and EM console not working.
Being a DBA, we should understand the underlying technology that driven the system. It's like driving a car. A regular customer could say I don't care about mechanics of a car. As long as it's running, that's enough. But we are not regular customer, we suppose to be the auto repair mechanician in Oracle world. We could enjoy driving a car, but at same time we should know why and how it's working.
