Voice announcement

When I turn my phone off, there is a voice that says "loss of service, Verizon wireless ", also when the phone rings, same voice. How do I turn these announcements off?

Voice announcing everything on screen. How do I stop this from happening?

I have an Apple TV Series 3 and when scrolling though my music, movies etc, I hear a voice announcing everything on screen. How do I stop this from happening?

Settings - general - accessibility - VoiceOver - off

Sometimes my ipod nano will have a voice announcement of the song and then skip to the next song on the cd and then announce again and skip again over and over again??

Sometimes my ipod nano will have a voice announcement of the name of the song playing after the song starts and then skip to the next song in line and then repeat the announcement and then skip, again and again....

Turn off voice announced caller ID?

Have a Samsumg Galaxy 6 where the caller's ID for incoming calls is announced. Want to turn off voice announcement but retain the base caller ID (on screen, but no voice) Cannot find this option?

Can system voice announce time in French if iMac set to English?

I'm wondering if anyone know how to have the system announce the time in another language, say French. if the Computer System is set to English. I can download a French computer voice in Customize of the voice panel of Date and Time but I don't hear it announce the time. When I change to another voice I hear the announcements.

I have Tom, the system voice is set to Sebastian and the time is set to announce on the quarter hour. The computer system is set to English. I find the time announcements in English intrusive but I absolutely need to know the time so I don't get so engrossed in computer work that I don't leave for work on time. As I speak French also and find the Sebastian voice quite soft and soothing I thought it would be a nice thing to have French time announced. I downloaded the voice and it shows up in my list of choices when I choose Customise in the date and time announcements panel. The time announcements work when I choose Alex but when I choose Sebastian no announcemts are forthcoming.

I just got the new LG Cosmos phone. When I touch the settings the female voice tells me everything I hit. I want to turn off the voice prompt announcement or what ever. Does anyone know how to turn off the voice. she even tells me the letters I hit when I text. Help?

Options mileage vs. km in voice announcements

Hi,
does somebody know what to do if I still get mileage announcements while having changed the options from miles to km? Quite confusing to run in Europe with km, but get the distance announced in miles ??!!! Maybe there is a software upgrade? I bought the software here in Luxembourg, so assume that this is fixed by now or?
Below also my request in German for those who understand.

With apps they install and appear in the application folder, you can set your Ovi account with a preferred drive to install them, anything you download to computer can be side loaded and installed on the phone from file manager, As for Washington maps , simply install the state maps you require from USA in the maps section on Ovi suite. There is also an upgraded maps Beta 3.07 at Beta labs
You can also create folders to 'neaten up your applications by selecting options in the main menu or application folder, eg I have a folder where I put all my browsers and one for Media apps.

Re saving links, you have direct link to Ovi with the Store app, you can bookmark the others, but I tend to download stuff to pc and side load whenever possible, a lot of free stuff will download from Ovi to PC if you change the url on the Ovi site by addinf /download to the url

Lyync queue voice announcement

Is it possible to add an announcement when a caller is transferred to a relevant queue? We've got an interactive response group configured with three options - press 1 for sales, press 2 for accounts and press 3 for support. What we are looking for is announcement
when a call is transferred to one of the queues, for example after pressing 1 hearing an announcement "forwarding you to a sales queue".

Agreed. RGS can do very minimum customisation. What you described above cannot be done on RGS platform. You may need to look for a more high end contact centre solution to use such features other than RGS.

Samsung Fascinate Voice Announce

I've read through all the posts concerning the announcement of the incoming caller id, but the option for "Speak caller id" is not in my menu under text-to-speech. How can I turn this off? I want my ringtones back!

I am sorry but there is no caller id readout on my phone at that location.

How to Play Sound on the Hour - not Voice

I miss the ability I had in Classic to play a sound on the hour and half hour. In OSX, it seems that only having a voice announce the time is an option - unless I'm missing something.
Does anyone know of a workaround? I hate the voice thing and would rather listen to a pleasant sound.

Iphone 4 gone bizerk and announces everything!!!

My iphone 4 is in a mode where it voice announces everything you touch on the screen. Along with it, the swipe feature isn't working and it takes a double 'tap' on any icon to activate it. Anyone know how it got into this mode and how to turn it off? Please help. Thanks.

Vodafone and Apple can't help you with this. Your only chance to recover is by using Windows system restore or mac Time Machine to revert to an earlier time and see if you can retreive your old backup, assuming you have been syncing your phone to back it up. (If you haven't, there's no way to get your information back.)
If you backed up your phone with iTunes prior to this happening you could use Windows System restore to restore your computer to an earlier restore point before this happened, or mac Time Machine to do the same. If an earlier backup exists after you revert back you will find it at one of the following locations:
Mac OS: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup
Windows XP: %AppData%\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
Windows Vista: %AppData%\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
Windows 7: %AppData%\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
If you find it, copy it on a flash drive then revert your computer back to its current state (by undoing System Restore or ending Time Machine). Then copy this backup file to it's original location. Next save any recent pictures in your Camera Roll, disable automatic syncing in iTunes (under Preferences>Devices>Prevent...from syncing automatically), connect your phone to iTunes and when it appears on the left sidebar, right-click on it and select Transfer Purchases (to save any new purchases) and finally right-click again and select Restore from Backup.
I realize this might sound a bit technical. If it does you may want to have a computer savvy friend help you with this.

VoiceOver announcement problem

Every time I get an e-mail or finish writing a mail I get this voice announcement that it needs my attention. Even when I forget to save a final cut document it speaks. I did switch off the VoiceOver in the Universal Access preferences but it still speaks and muted the voice in the "Open Voice Utility" tab but with no luck! Can someone please help me with this problem? I appreciate any your help.

Hello Jameh,
Sounds as if you are suffering from corrupted Preferences files. To fix this, first make sure System Preferences is not running, then in your ~/Library/Preferences folder, bin the following files:
com.apple.systempreferences.plist
com.apple.speech.synthesis.general.prefs.plist
and empty the trash.
You may have to do a fair bit of resetting of System Preferences, but the problem with Talking Alerts should have gone.

Disable voice at login

My daughter's iBook G4 (10.4.11) has the text-to-speech and field outlining turned on for the account login screen, i.e. as you select each field in the login screen the field gets a black outline around it and the computer voice announces the name of the field -- like Assistive features for disabled users have been activated.
I've checked that the Universal Access preferences are not enabled.
She does have Speech preferences turned on for one of the two accounts on her machine, but that should not turn on the assistive behavior during login, as far as I know.
I removed speechsynthesisserver from the login items, and it seemed to fix the problem for the subsequent login, but it returned after logging out.

The women's voice in iTunes

I was at a local store, looking at a MacBook Pro, when I heard a woman's voice announcing the name of the next song on iTunes. I listened for a bit more and the same voice announced the next song. Is this a new feature in iTunes and how is it accessed. Thanks.

It's not a feature in iTunes. It must be some sort of add on.
