Volume Issues with Full Orchestra

This is my first full orchestra piece digitally - been able to produce quite a few smaller chamber works no problem, but can't get the volume up on this without blowing into the red zone on the Output 1-2. In order to keep the peaks under it, the whole thing has to be bounced at to low of a volume. All my chamber pieces are higher volume on my ouput equipment than this thing.
Help?

I know a lot of movie scores are compressed and limited, but that's because they are composed to support the movie and not "get in the way", but I really don't want to go that way. I'm writing orchestral music and want the full dynamic range.
I've written a lot for orchestra (but not digitally) and am confident I'm not writing things that are compositionally thick/heavy and over-scored. So I guess that leaves "MIDI-rendering", and I'm baffled as to how this one element could keep me from red-zoning. I've tried dropping the velocity and raising the bus and output volumes, raising the velocity and dropping the volumes, pulling back on sends (while pumping up the reverb), pulling back on reverb, using a smaller "room", etc. Nothing gets me the volume needed.
FYI - I'm using VSL almost exclusively as my samples, with Platinum as my reverb.

Volume issues with GE60 Apache Pro-003

I recently picked up the new GE60 Apache Pro notebook, and I've been running it for about a week now. I should of course mention that I also did a clean windows install after adding an SSD to the system (and now can't figure out how to add back that cool MSI panel that was there when I first got the system).
Anyway, I've noticed that there seems to be volume issues with the system no matter WHAT kind of settings I tweak, or drivers I try to use. With all sliders up at maximum, the volume levels still never seem to surpass around 50% (from observing the volume gauges in the Windows Volume mixer panel). My previous notebook's speakers put out significantly higher volume, and was also able to put out far more power to my headphones (Audio Technica ATH-M50).
Any possible ideas for the cause and solution to this problem? Thanks in advance, and let me know if there is anything else I need to mention.

Pretty much everything. Music, games, online videos... According to the volume mixer, the audio levels never seem to pass 50%. The grey bar bounces to the peak, but the green bar never seems to pass the 50% level. It's as if there's some sort of limiter in place I'm not aware of. And since I reformatted the notebook as soon as I got it, I was never able to see if the volume control worked correctly before the reformat.

Yes, the volume on my iPhone 4s will max out without me touching any button or setting. When opening mail, for instance, the ringer icon will appear and the volume level goes to max volume - and I'm not touching the volume buttons. It seems to happen randomly, at least I can't identify a pattern, but thankfully it doesn't happen all the time, but at least once a day.
Anyone else seen this?

Volume issues with third-party tele-conference service

A client is requried to join a conference call hosted by third-party Genesys Conferencing (866.436.3797). My client accesses the teleconference through the speakerphone of their Cisco SPA525G2, lcoated in a Board Room.
They have a UC-540 with the next to lates firmware and they have no other volume issues with any call on this or any other speakerphone.
Any ideas?

OS X LION Issues with Full-Screen; iPhoto, Image Capture & Mail

I'm experiencing un-Apple-like issues (bugs) with Lion in Full-Screen mode.
For example - iPhoto doesn't seem to like Full-Screen mode. If iPhoto is open and I connect a camera, for which I prefer Image Capture to retrieve my pics... Image Capture opens 'behind' the full-screen iPhoto, but I can't get to it. Image Capture shows as open on the menu bar in iPhoto's full-screen mode. If I go to the desktop (where it should be opening) Image Capture isn't 'on top' and clicking it takes me back to iPhoto full-screen
Similarly, if I get mail and return to the desktop (the only way to see the dock) and I click on the 'Mail' app icon - I am catapulted into Image Capture... or iPhoto. Returning to the Desktop to click the Mail icon from the dock... takes me to Image Capture... or iPhoto. The 3rd try takes me to the Mail.app which is usually always open and in full-screen mode.
While I'm complaining about bugs, I'd like to mention that I am fully dismayed by the loss of control in full-screen mode when using apps such as Mail or iPhoto. The Mail app opens an email to edit (such as a reply) but you can't access any other mail docs to 'cut and paste' info from. I can only click SEND or CANCEL.
What if I don't want to CANCEL? I just want to go to another email and cut a piece to paste.. I have to exit full-screen mode which allows me to open two email documents at once, then cut and paste. Essentially Mail in Full-Screen is only a reader... not a work area. I can only access the document I have open, since it greys out the Message Viewer. You can't click on the message viewer nor access any of the features of Mail.app. You can only write your email and either Cancel or Send. Where is the 'hold on a second while I go cut and paste'? I don't want to cancel.
Can't seem to use Safari since I'm constantly three-finger swiping it away. My cursor hovers over a text field and suddenly it's zooming in and locks text input. I have to iPhone-like swipe to expand to exit this inadvertent partial (very slight) zoom. Sometimes the zoom is so partial that I can't figure out what's going on until I just exit full-screen mode, close the window and start over.
Seems like I'm starting over and over and over... just to do simple things. Inadvertent zooming, inadvertent 3-finger returning to Desktop, inadvertent changing apps... ugh.
I'm willing to let go of the old and embrace the new future but so far it's been pretty uncomfortable for me to constantly monitor my overly sensitive trackpad gesturing combined with constant bugs and glitches. I'll save complaining about iPhoto's over-simplification (apparently for dummies) like the new Edit menu, Export menu, etc.. since it's more iLife than Lion related. Rate Lion: 2 out of 5 stars for ease of use & features complicated by unrefined software issues.

Cisco Agent Desktop / Supervisor Desktop Issue with Full Disk Encryption

Has anyone had any issues related to running Cisco Agent Desktop or Cisco Supervisor Desktop on a machine running full disk encryption? Our desktop team installed full disk encryption software from Check Point, and it seams to be causing some issues with call monitoring, screen pops via workflow and connectivity to the UCCX server. It's not effecting every machine (that we know of), but the fix for us right now is to provide a desktop without the encryption software. I'm just wondering if this is related to us, or if there is any supporting documentation out there?
Any help is apprecicated.

CAD for IPCCX v4 does not support windows 7. See compatibility matrix:

In my experience if you already have CAD installed and you upgrade the OS (without a fresh rebuild) CAD will work - but it is NOT supported. You should test this though.
You will not be able to install the older version of CAD on windows 7, the installer will give you errors.

Issue with Full Screen & Input languages (Mavericks 10.9.1)

I have two issues with the latest (Version 8.0.24308) Microsoft Remote Desktop from the Mac App store:
1. If I tick the connection entry "Start session in fullscreen" option, after connect the desktop slips upwards like on the screenshot (below on the link)
2. The default input method switches to Latvian after connect (never used Latvian anywhere...).
On my Mac:
- System language: Hungarian
- Input language: Hungarian
On the server:
- System language: English
- Input language: Hungarian (default) + English
+: the app doesn't supports Retina display resolution :(

OS X native: The native full screen feature for the Mac OS X version.
Custom: The custom full screen mode enables the multi-monitor feature in order to provide a better experience for users of Mac OS X versions 10.7 and 10.8.
Important information for users of 10.9: if you have disabled "Displays have separate Spaces" in Mavericks
(System Preferences > Mission Control) go to Preferences > Resolution in the Microsoft Remote Desktop client and configure the setting using the same option.
Please try the OS X native mode and see how it works.
2. The OS keyboard locale, is suggested to the remote PC. Therefore, please check the keyboard locale.

On my current project we have really annoying issue with master merge process that occurs after Full Population of FTS Index.
Let me describe our process: we have continuous build that setup environment and run unit tests after each commit in our source control. For each run we create new DB (on the same SQL Server) then fill it with test data and run unit tests. Sometimes unit
tests failed because FTS Index population cannot finish in time.
We have constantly seeing in [sysprocesses] table lots of sessions with wait type FT_MASTER_MERGE that block our tests
In FTS log we have following error:
The master merge started at the end of the full crawl of table or indexed view [TABLENAME] failed with HRESULT = '0x80000049'. Database ID is '45', table id is
706101556, catalog ID: 5.

Flash player 10 update:: issue with full screen

I am running a windows xp sp3 and did install (by mistake) an update of the flash player 10.
Youtube (for example)videos play but on full screen, I only have a white screen with the sound.
I uninstalled the flash player and plugin and reinstalled a new flash player and plugin but without any results. I still have a with screen.
Any help or lead would be really appreciated on how to fix my issue.

I was having the same problem, the screen would be blank white when I switched to full screen, no matter where I watched the video at. I disabled hardware acceleration and that fixed it. I'm glad I found this in the forum.

Volume issue with certain songs

Certain songs will not play as loudly as they do in iTunes on my Mini, I tried turning on and off the sound check option but this actually has no effect on these songs at all. The songs were all extracted from alternative sources (DVDs, Quicktime movies) As I said they play fine in iTunes, but seem really soft on the Mini, especially with background noise.

You could try one of the 3rd party programs that work more effectively at leveling out the song volume (at least in my opinion).
For Macs there is iVolume.
The full version isn't free, but it has a trial version that allows you to use the program with just a few songs at a time so you could try it and see if it has any effect.

CRM Data source 0CRM_OPPT_H issue with full update

Hi Gurus!
When I tried to start Full Upload via 0CRM_OPPT_H data source at BW side I faced with issue that
No data available
Diagnosis
The data request was a full update.
In this case, the corresponding table in the source system does not
contain any data.
System Response
Info IDoc received with status 8.
Procedure
Check the data basis in the source system.
I have checked the data source via RSA3 at CRM side and can extract 11 entries. The table CRMD_ORDER_INDEX has 39 entries.
What have I done:
1. Activate data source at CRM side in RSA5 and can see it in RSA6
2. Activate BW Adapter Metadata in BWA5
3. Tried to start full uploading at BW side but got error(No data available).
4. Initialized delta-upload and can see active status for 0CRM_OPPT_H in tr. BWA7 at CRM side in active status (Delta active = TRUE, Initial upload = empty).
5. There is no any authorization issues (user has SAP_ALL in both systems)
6. RFC connection between systems is Ok. Extraction via 0CRM_OPPT_I was Ok.
Have you any ideas how to start full uploading for BW via 0CRM_OPPT_H?

Volume issues with MacBook Pro

Hi,
I just placed a new SSD into my Late 2011 MacBook Pro and re-installed Mavericks and for some reason the volume on my machine is a lot quieter compared to before... I have gone into System Preferences and both my input and output volumes are full... could I be missing something? Help would be greatly appreciated...

Issue with full screen apps quitting

I am having problems when I exit a full screen app on OSX Mountain Lion!!! It does't happen all the time but when it does the only way I could fix it is log out and log back in!!
The problem is when I quit a full screen app the desktop it created to open the full screen app on remains blank and doesn't close so I end up with my 2 desktops and blank desktops which is really annoying when I want to switch between desktops or other full screen apps!!! Anyone else having this problem?? PLEASE HELP!!!

Autonomy Backup Client - issue with full backup but incrementals okay

We run Autonomy to back-up our Laptops across the enterprise .
I notice on one laptop here that the account within Autonomy Admin shows taht "Last known good full backup = Not applicable", but when you go into client history you can see that the incremental backups have been happening okay.
Should I be conerned? Is this backup file corrupt? If so, how please can I fix with minimal impact to the user.

For this unless this is a HP software product you need to contact the Software manufacture that you use for your backup for support on their software...

Volume issues with some itunes movies

I just downloaded the movie Sucker Punch, but when i play it on itunes the volume is very low. i don't have that problem with downloaded music, just with some movies and it's not the first time it happens, this has happened multiple times in the past.
all my softwares are up to date as far as i can tell, itunes 11.0.4, on a mac OS X 10.6.8 with 2.26 GHz Core 2 Duo.
It a bit frustrating because i can't seem to do anything about it, which renders itunes movie store pretty useless to me.

Hi, aloosh1.
This can happen depending on how the media was created. However, there is a solution. Most media volume can be adjusted by selecting the media, either control click or select the file menu from the menu bar and choose Get Info. From there you can select the options tab and adjust the volume. I have attached a screen shot of the process for reference.
