Volume Spikes - Music Videos

Does anyone know how to equalize the sound from the music videos when played through ATV? Depending on the song, some come out very loud and some come out very low. I've tried to manually change the sound through "volume adjustments" under the itunes options, however it doesn't seem to fix the problem.

  • Very low volume from Music Video

I purchased a music video for the first time and the volume is way, way too low. I have my powerbook cranked all the way up and it's still way too soft. All my other music plays just fine. What can be done about this? It was Alice In Chains music video "Would?"

    Hi,
One thing can help is the following.  Right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select 'Playback Devices'.  Left click the default device once to highlight it ( it's usually 'speakers & headphones' ) then click the Properties button.  Click the Enhancements tab and put a tick in the box next to 'Loudness Equalization'.  Click Apply to save the change and then click OK in all remaining windows and see if this has helped at all.

  • Same volume for music videos and music?

Is there a way to have all my music videos and music to have the same volume on playback rather than me having to adjust my receiver up and down all the time?
    Thanks

  • Music Video Volume

Did Itunes 10.2 take away the ability to adjust the volume levels on music videos?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions
You shouldn't use iTunes to convert videos; it does not do it right. You can use 3rd party converters like:

  • Random CPU spikes while playing a music video

I'm using Quicktime 7.6.4 on XP Home SP3 to play music videos I got from ITunes. I'm using an AGP Nvidia 7600 GS with 256 MB of memory so it finally draws fine without half-frame refreshes but now I have a new problem. I only have an athlon 64 3200+ in my socket 754 board. It's the third fastest one they make for this motherboard but still, not exactly the quickest in the world. Playing a video in Quicktime only takes like 45% of the processor though so I thought it was fine for smooth playback. But randomly while playing any of these music videos, the CPU spikes to 100%, 95% of it being Quicktime's process, only 3% hardware interrupts so I know it's not a driver issue, and the whole computer locks up for about 3 seconds. Video suspends playback followed by the audio. Then right after that, playback resumes like normal. It can do it in the middle or end of the video or pretty much whenever or even not at all sometimes.
I've updated the BIOS, all related drivers, XP itself, and there's about 55% ram free whenn it does this so needless to say, it seems to be Quicktime's problem, not my computer. Even the voltages are good and also it doesn't lock up any other time using any other software, even VLC in dual monitor mode with direct X as the renderer.
So does anyone know what causes the sudden CPU spike? Is it running out of video memory so it has to ask the CPU to address more all at once or something? Or is it just calculating something that requires tons of resources and my computer isn't fast enough.
The only other unusual circumstances are that I have it configured to play on monitor #2 (which is actually a projector) while fullscreened and then as soon as it's done playing, it snaps back to the original monitor the quicktime window was opened on. It's really smooth and professional looking seeing as how my desktop background is black. I just hit control F, it plays with the video control overlay disabled, and then when it's done it goes back to black and they never see the quicktime window itself. So that's my current configuration in case there's some sort of known dual monitor issue. Either way, I need this thing playing videos smoothly ASAP! So does anyone know how to fix it?

I have the EXACT same problem and I have yet to find any
resources on this subject. It's as if flash videos and games just
decide that they will rebel against my computer every 30 seconds.
I've also closed down all other programmes, and with a dual core
1.6 ghz processor in addition to 2 gb of ram, this
should not be a problem, but surprise surprise it is.
Someone here at adobe has to have a clue as to what is going
    on.

  • Is TV2 suposed to recognise iTunes settings(eg. start, end, volume level)  for music videos ??

I am trying to run music videos from iTunes to AppleTV2. But any of the settings I have made in iTunes agnats the music video (eg. Video start time, stop time, volume level) don't seem to be recognised by TV2. Is this correct ? If so, how do I control varying volumes levels when playing via TV2 ?

I have this problem on occasion, below the song title and progress bar there are two symbols tap them 1 at a time and restart not sure witch one but one of them does this. I think the other causes the song to loop

  • Music videos; how far have you increased the default volume?

I'm sure you've all noticed that when listening to music videos through the regular playlist (ie: not via videos list) the quality of the sound is rather poor in comparison to regular music.
I've done a "Get Info" on each of my music videos (purchased through iTunes) and boosted the sound up 2 notches, however I still find they are comparably quieter than the other music.
How far should I go before the sound quality might become distorted?

Thanks for the fast, technically astute reply! Very reassuring - and truly appreciated!!

  • Volume control for video playback through Apple TV2

I am trying to configure the volume settings used on airplay through apple TV2 and a macbook pro and Iphone4 all with most recent updates.
I am using the apple remote app on my iphone to control the apple tv.
    Whats working:
Using the pandora app on my iphone through aiplay to the apple tv, I can control the volume using the plus and minus buttons on the side of the iphone for volume control. Very cool and easy.
Using the apple remote app on my iphone I can control the itunes volume of different speakers by clicking on the airplay icon and using a slider.  Not as cool as using the hard +/- buttons but still works.
    Whats not working:
Controling volume on appleTV2 through the iphone remote app for video playbacks like netflix, and youtube.
Why I want this: RIght now I can control most of the multimedia right from my iphone including cranking the music up:) But when I switch over to video(Netlfix, Youtube) I have to get out another remote (stereo reciever) to control the volume. It seems we are so close to being able to control everything off the iphone, the only thing missing is volume control for video playback.
Is there a setting that can be changed or a solution I havent found?
    Thanks

Same problem with TV3. HDMI volume output is not adjustable, neither with the original Apple remote nor with any universal. Why ? Every simple settop-box is able to be volume adjusted. And a Mac Mini too ?!!!
I use a flatscreen TV. it has 3 HDMI inputs and one optical out for the audio going to an amp standing behind it. The sound of the TV is switched to go to the optical out.
HDMI 1 is connected to the satellite settop box with its  own remote control ( channel +/-, volume +/- etc. ) it work s fine.
HDMI 2 is connected to the MacMini HDMI out with its own remote control ( channel/music +/-, volume +/- ) it works fine too.
HDMI 3 was connected to Apple TV3 with its own remote control ( channel/music +/- but no volume ). I sent the TV3 back to Apple.
What's going wrong in the mind of Apple ? Why is the HDMI volume output of the MacMini adjustable with the Apple remote, and the TV3 not ?
I want not to discuss, wether a 4th remote control is useful or not. I don't want it. I want to adjust the volume with the originl remote control of the specific unit I use, because I need it anyway. It worked since years, but not with Apple TV3.
How can we help Apple to open the volume +/- function on their own remote control ?

  • My iPad is not playing sound on music videos...

Suddenly my iPad is not playing the sound on music videos. I have already tried holding down the sleep and home button...still not working.

    1. If Side Switch is set to Mute, check to make sure it's not muted

  • Music & Video App Bugs in iOS 8

Probably mentioned before but it looks like the Music and Video Apps are suffering from a few bugs. These issues are identical on my iPhone 5s and my iPad Air after updating to iOS8.
Album art that previously appeared in front of a Playlist's title in the Music App has disappeared.
I'm seeing the same band listed twice in the Music App, under 'A' for the bands name and under 'T' for "the". The 'T' is following directly after the 'A', making it weirder.
In the Video App, some TV Show titles, and all Music Videos have lost their album art work. Oddly, the Movie titles seem unaffected.
    -m

This isn't a Music app issue, per se, but it is related, so I'll put it here.
On my iPhone 5s, the volume control on the lock screen is now very close to the transport control buttons, so much so that it can be almost impossible to adjust the volume without activating one of the transport buttons instead.  This is especially frustrating when listening to iTunes Radio as I will frequently activate the Skip button, which not only skips the song, of course, but inadvertently reduces my skip count.  Since nothing else seems to have changed in the lock screen's layout, this repositioning makes no sense.

  • HELP - Problem Playing Music Videos on 5G iPod

I've downloaded 3 music videos to my 60 Video iPod. I've watched all of them recently but today i've got no sound or no picture but the video playlist is still there and the iPod starts to play them but i just get a black screen with the white play arrow and i can alter the volume.
    Any ideas or help please???
    Many thanks

If the audio for movies plays through the headphones and you see "Now Playing" on the iPod screen with a progress bar, but the video does not appear on the iPod screen, then you may have the TV Out video setting turned on.
To change your TV Out setting so you can view video with your sound:
Navigate on your iPod to Videos > Video Settings
Select TV Out to set it to Off or Ask.
If the issue continues, make sure you are accessing the video through the Videos menu. If you have a video mixed in an audio playlist, you also won't be able to see the video.

  • Album Songs & Music Videos not playing in order

I've just bought an iPod Touch. On my iPod Classic, when I play albums it runs in the order of songs, but on my iPod Touch it will say play Track 1 and when that song has ended it may play any random song like Track 7 then back to Track 3.
All the music videos I have play in the order of the alphabet from A to Z, not in the album titles I've selected them to play on.
I have Shake to Shuffle switched off on my settings for Music. I'm not sure how to correct this, as my music appears to be on some sort of Shuffle mode.

I just solved the same problem on my new iPod Touch (3G, 32G, if it matters). FYI, I am a complete newbie when it comes to iPods, and so please excuse me if I don't identify things by their correct names.
When the first song on the album starts playing, there is a screen with a volume slider on the bottom, and the name of the artist and album at the top. There's also a progress bar for the song near the top, and two symbols on the left and right side of the screen just below that progress bar. Try tapping the one on the right, with the two intersecting/curvy arrows, even if it's not highlighted in blue - I think it gets 'stuck on', and just doesn't show that it's on.
I did this after deleting all the songs on my iPod, or even after a full restore, didn't fix the problem.
I hope this works for you. I found some great live recordings (made legally!) on the Web recently, and they just didn't sound right shuffled.

  • Just purchased a new iPad and the sound works on Siri, music, videos, alarms, but on games it will not.  Is this a preference or perhaps a defective unit.
