VPN AnyConnect Pre-deployment Configuration

Is it possible with the Anyconnect predeployment tool to uncheck the "Block connections to untrusted servers" in the MSI for AnyConnect secure mobility client version 3.1.05152 so that it gets pushed out to endusers this way?

It's part of the AnyConnect global local policy xml file. You can opt to deploy that (and any connection profiles) along with the msi which installs the other application bits.
You can create it on the ASA using ASDM and manually copy if off into your deployed package or use the standalone AnyConnect Profile Editor - VPN Local Policy component in this case. Unchecking the "Strict Certificate Trust" is the box that changes the client behavior the way you asked. that translates to a line in the file like this:
<StrictCertificateTrust>false</StrictCertificateTrust>

I followed this and wacked a bunch of interfaces, rebooted several times, tried running installer as administrator, and tried installing when logged in as a different user. All failed. Looking deep in c:\windows\inf\setupapi.dev.log, it was complaining during device install:

I opened up Device Manager, View | Hidden Devices. I found under Network Adapters a hidden "Unknown device". Right click, removed it, then VPN client installed flawlessly.
I was having re-installation issues since I uninstalled AnyConnect to see if it was interfering with a Windows Update. It wasn't, and then I couldn't reinstall it. But, removing that Unknown Device did the trick.

  • Unable to download anyconnect-gina-win-2.5.2017-pre-deploy-k9.msi from Cisco

I am looking to download an older version of the Cisco AnyConnect Start Before login module. The filename is anyconnect-gina-win-2.5.2017-pre-deploy-k9.msi.Cisco no longer has the download link on their website. The oldest version they have is 6005.
Upgrading to a newer version is not an option as it is a huge project to upgrade 10000+ machines.
I called Cisco Support and they told me that I would need to post in these forums to receive the file. It didn't make much sense to me but I'm posting. Is anyone able to help?
    Thanks,

  • Communication problem from the vpn-anyconnect to easy-vpn-remote

    Hi Team,
I have a communication problem from the vpn-anyconnect to easy-vpn-remote, I´ll explain better bellow and see the attached
    topology:
    1) VPN Tunnel between HQ to Branch Office - That´s OK
    2) VPN Tunnel between Client AnyConnect to HQ - That´s OK
The idea is that the Client Anyconnect is to reach the LAN at Branch Office, but did not reach.
The communication is stablished just when I start a session (icmp and/or rdp) from Branch Office to the Client AnyConnect,
in this way, the communication is OK, but just during a few minutes.
    Could you help me?

    Hi,
the communication works when you send traffic from easyvpn branch side because it froms the IPSEC SA for local subnet and anyconnect HQ pool. The SA will only form when branch initiates the connection as this is dynamic peer connection to HQ ASA.
when there no SA between branch and HQ for this traffic, HQ ASA has no clue about where to send the traffic from anyconnect to branch network.
I hope it explains the cause.
    Regards,
    Abaji.

  • AnyConnect pre Windows login connects and disconnects for some users

    Hi,
I have Cisco VPN AnyConnect (version 3.1.0310) clients with a connectivity issue which manifests as follows:
A user boots their Windows 7 SP1 laptop up.
Before Windows login, the user clicks "switch user" and enters their Cisco AnyConnect credentials (this connects OK).
Once the VPN tunnel is established a user logs into Windows.
At this point, 1 of 2 things happen:
    1. Most users VPN connection stays connected and user GPO processing\logins work as normal
    2. For a minority of users, the VPN connection disconnects and then reconnects. The VPN disconnect and reconnect causes connectivity issues with mapped drives and Outlook (most likely due to GPO processing not applying as the VPN tunnel wasn't established at the required time).
There are no known commanalities between problematic users - all users are in the same OU and laptops are in the same OU, so they should be getting the same AD settings. The same user can login 14 times OK, but may experience this issue on the 15th occasion.
Within the profile xml file (stored in c:\program data\) the key "AutoConnectStart" is set to false for user controllable and default value. The XML policy settings are being applied correctly (we've checked Event ID 3010 within the Cisco AnyConnect Windows logs).
What we have noticed from using the back end Cisco monitoring client is that users who experience connection issues, connect pre windows login OK, but once they're logged into Windows the Cisco VPN AnyConnects seems to try and re-connect, which causes the current VPN tunnel to disconnect and re-connect. This disconnect and re-connect for users seems to cause issues with logon and GPO processing.
So far, the only rock solid way we've found of stopping this disconnect and re-connect behaviour is by configuring a system deny permission on registry key "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run". This key contains an entry for Cisco AnyConnect VPN. Unfortunately setting a deny on the individual node value isn't possible and if the key is deleted or modified the system re-creates it. I'd rather avoid setting a system deny on the key for all users.
Any advice on how troubleshoot and diagnose this problem is appreciated.
    Thanks

I've attached some log files in case someone is particularly keen eyed at spotting issues (all data is anonymized)

  • Mobile Devices (Android and iOS) cannot Connect to WS 2008 RRAS L2TP VPN with Pre-Shared Key

I have my Windows Server 2008 standard installed with RRAS service and configure with L2TP VPN with pre-shared key. Services such as Active Directory, DHCP and DNS are not installed. The Internet connection doesn't pass through a router to my server machine.
I have the Verizon fios Internet cable plugged in to the server machine directly.
PCs running Windows and Mac OS X can connect to the server without problem. When I tried to connect by using android or iOS mobiles and tablets, they cannot connect to the server. If I change the VPN type to PPTP, the mobile devices can connect successfully
but I would like to use IPSec/L2TP since it's more secure.
I tried so hard to look for the solution for this issue on Internet but I had no luck on that. Can anyone please provide me some help, please ?
    Thanks,
    CK

    Hi CK,
I think we may need to create a policy in Network Policies. Please follow the steps below,
Right click Network Policies, Click New.
Enter the policy name, click Next.
Click Add, select the Day and Time Restrictions, click
    Add.
In the Day and Time Restrictions, choose Permited for
    all, click OK.
Click Next five times(leave everything default), click
    Finish.
Move the policy to top and try to connect with your device.
If issue persists, please make sure that the Connection Requet Policies have been configured properly.
For detailed information about how to create a network policy, please refer to the link below,

  • Deployment application Pre-deploy setting

HI all , i have basic questtaion about deployment application .
If I select in the deplyment types "Install for system if resource is device ; otherwise install for user" and "Wheather or not a user is logged on" and deployment collection is user and pre-deploy is checked is the program istall only
to primary device or every computer where user logon ?
    thanx
    Falcon

    Hi,
You can define primary devices. These are typically the devices that users use on a daily basis to perform their work. When you create an affinity between a user and a device, you gain
more software deployment options. For example, if a user requires Microsoft Office Visio, you can install it on the user’s primary device by using a Windows Installer deployment. You can also use user device affinity to pre-deploy software on a user’s device
when the user is not logged in. Then, when the user logs on, the application is already installed and ready to run.
How to Manage User Device Affinity in Configuration Manager

  • Pre deploy applications sccm 2012

    Hey Everyone,
I have a question regarding deployment of software. Current layout is as follows : 2200 machines ranging from always on desktops to about 400 only laptop users. We use SCCM 2012 to deploy applications etc. I am currently updating java and Imprivata
Single Sign On. Regardless the process is to remove the old versions of JAVA , install a newer one , once that is complete lay down a newer version of Single Sign-On which requires a reboot. Since one depends on a another we decided that this is the best opportunity
to update both. Anyway I push the software out to to machine collections as all machines need this regardless of users.
I cant get the laptops that go home for the day , since I can't deploy during the day the machines are not getting this update. There is a setting within SCCM that allows a deployment to be " predeployed" to the users machine. Is there anyway
I can utilize that to apply to the machines so that even when a laptop is offline the content is already pre-deployed to the machine so all that needs to happen is  ; a deadline to be set
and the clients to be configured to automatically install required software after business hours ? I can push a script that would copy the installation files to the machines and kick of a script or a scheduled task to install the updates ,
or many other ways. But I really wanted to use SCCM and since I noticed that check box for pre deplyment of content to the users machine seems like what I want. But since it targets users primary device and I am deploying to a device collection targeting machines
not users  it doesn't seem to be working. Any ideas ? Is this possible ?

I have looked at Powershell deployment toolkit as it offers users the ability to snooze installs etc. But I don't have the time to adjust my deployment to this format as my deadline is coming up. But going back to your comment about packages having the ability
to pre download content , wow that is awesome - huge limitation on application types in my opinion. Let me walk you through my mind set to see if I got the logic down please.
    1) I set the Scheduling on a deployment to a set deadline of 11/5/2014.
    2) On the User Experience tab I set the following 2 check boxes : When the installation deadline is reached , allow the following activities to be performed :
         a) Install Software
         b) System restart if required to complete the installation -  ( Do I need to set this if my deployment type : User Experience tab has the setting set of " Configuration manager client will force a mandatory device restart "
    3) With regards to Maintenance Window and Work Hours do I need to worry about anything here ? I know that if the deadline is set to a time where the maintenance window doesn't match it will be applied at the next maintenance window. But do I need to set
anything else here to have this automatically get apply ?
4 And last on the client side within the software center - options tab - computer maintenance " automatically install or uninstall required software and restart the computer only outside of the specified business hours " do I need to set this check
box ? And do I need to specify logon hours to match up with the maintenance windows to have the software try and deploy prior to deadline but still offline ?
What I am trying to achieve is to get the software pre downloaded to the machines and then automatically get deployed during off hours but hopefully prior to the deadline. Meaning is there anyway using any of the mentioned steps above to have the system
try and install the packages everyday between certain hours and once the deadline is reached to just install ?

  • AppContainers_test fails with error during pre-test configuration checks

    Hello,
AppContainers_test fails with error during pre-test configuration checks:
"[FAIL] The machine is not properly configured for testing: the test directory "C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\" is not ACL'd to allow execute permission for "APPLICATION PACKAGE AUTHORITY\ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES"
But that kind of permission for APPLICATION PACKAGE AUTHORITY\ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES was allowed, also i tried to allow full access, but error was the same.
In the test WindowsFilteringPlatform_Tests, the same requirement "REQ - Wfp-based products must not block App Container apps operating within their declared network intentions by default" was checked successfully.
How can i pass successfully AppContainers_test?
I installed lastest versions of QFE and filters on my server, but it didn't help.

    Hi M'Alerter,
I have the same issue, have you found a solution to your problem ?
    Cheers,
    Ghalem

  • SCVMM 2012 RC - Unable to remove a VHD in the library because it has a dependency (Virtual Hard Disk deployment configuration)

When attempting to delete a VHD in the library, I am getting the below error message. Any thoughts on where I might look for the dependency "Virtual Hard Disk deployment configuration"?
    Exact error message:
The library object (os_disk) cannot be removed because following objects are dependent on it:
    Virtual Hard Disk deployment configuration
Please ensure that no objects are dependent on this library object and try the operation again.
    ID: 848

On the final version (tested in 2012 SP1)
Suggest this instead of hacking around in the database:
You will receive a message that objects are dependent on the library object. Note the name that is listed after "VM Template"
    Go to powershell in scvmm
    Run:
    remove-scvmtemplate -vmtemplate "NAME_YOU_RECORDED_FROM_ERROR"
Then, you can delete the template from SCVMM,
    Wow Microsoft, Wow.

  • Can't remove Service Deployment Configuration

    Hello,
When i try to remove VMM Service Deployment Configuration i get error:
    Error (26965)
VMM is unable to find the specified static IP address pool. The specified name may be incorrect, or the pool may have been deleted.
    Recommended Action
Verify that the name is correct and that the static IP address pool exists on the VMM management server.
How to force delete this Service Deployment Configuration ?

Not sure about supportability with Microsoft. But this should allow you to delete the orphaned Service Deployment Configuration in SCVMM.
    1. Open SQL Server Management Studio.
    2. Navigate to SERVERNAME\Databases\VirtualMachineManagerDB\Tables\tbl_WLC_TierConfig, right click
tbl_WLC_TierConfig and click Select Top 1000 Rows.
Look for the name (e.g. Web Service) of the
delinquent Service Deployment Configuration and record/write down the
    TierConfigId. (e.g.  CCAAFC3B-F26A-46A5-8EBA-8FB6813537A0)
    3. Navigate to SERVERNAME\Databases\VirtualMachineManagerDB\Tables\tbl_WLC_VMDeploymentConfig, right click
tbl_WLC_VMDeploymentConfig, and click Select Top 1000 Rows.
Look for the TierConfigId from step 2. and record/write down the
    VMConfigId(s). (e.g.  5C68C6A1-2063-4C4C-B7A4-42236BFEF809, 2A372909-BB9F-4456-AC55-806326BFCFB9, etc.)
    4. Navigate to SERVERNAME\Databases\VirtualMachineManagerDB\Tables\tbl_WLC_NICConfig, right click
tbl_WLC_NICConfig and click Edit Top 200 Rows.
Look for the VMConfigId(s) from step 3. and change the
    IPV4VMSubnetPoolId and IPv4SubnetVLanId values to
NULL.  These values are the orphaned ID's for the deleted IP Address Pools (SCVMM Error 26965).
    5. Open SCVMM console.
    6. Navigate to Library\Templates\Service Deployment Configurations, select the object
(e.g. Web Service), right click it and select Delete.
    Hope that helps.
    Cheers!

  • Create Domain from template doesn't loads right deployment configurations

    Hi!
I would like to export my domain configuration in a new machine.
As documentation reccomended I've generated the template.jar using the template builder.
When I try to create a new domain on other machine (using the option "create domain from tempalte") I noted that the configuration server would load correctly but the same doesn't happens for the deployment configuration.
Does Anyone know where is the error?
    Diego

    Thank you for the reply.
Since I've configured a complex environment this is a critical issue for me.
    I tried two different solution.
The first is using the template builder, the second using the pack/unpack script but the result is the same.
I hoped to solve the problem unpacking the environment changing only the config file but it seem get more than one problem.
I will ask helping to the support.
    Diego
