Wad - Collapse Hierarchical filter

Hi all
I am using wad v 3.5. I have a problem with Hierarchical filter selections. If a user clicks and opens the filter display and then moves the mouse off of the filter they want the filter to collapse back to its original status. Currently the filter remains open and blocks some data on them.
Does anyone know some javascript or code that will collapse the filter when the user moves the cursor of of the filter.

WAD 3.5 - Pass a date to Hierarchical Filter Selection Key Date

I'm working in WAD 3.5, with 3.5 queries. I currently have a Hierarchical Filter Selection on Org Unit using a query with no Key Date set, so as to pull the most current version of the hierarchy. This filter selection is then applied to several charts and tables below.
I need the web app to initially display this current version, but also allow the user to select a date, which triggers a requery of the Hierarchical Filter Selection data provider, passing the date selection to the key date of the data provider query. 1) how do I pass the date (currently from a drop down) to the key date of the other query, and 2) how do I force a requery of the Hierarchical Filter Selection?
The problem we are attempting to address is that if Org Unit A contained Org Units 1, 2, and 3 at the end of 2007, but only 1 and 2 today, the Hierarchical Filter Selection will not show #3, thus not allowing the user to drill down to it. If they can choose the version/point in time of the hierarchy, they will then have the ability to drill down on the older Org Units.

Our solution was to modify the user exit variables and store the values in a MEMORY ID and restore from there.

Hierarchical Filter Web Item causes validation warning.

When I validate my web template which contains a hierarchical filter web item agianst the server I get the following warning (W1):
Mapping for Service item_validation_service for Object HIERARCHICAL_FILTER_ITEM missing
Maybe this also relates to my problem of not having the possibility to choose a characteristic for the hierarchical filter (see my post <a href="https://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=209968&tstart=0">https://forums.sdn.sap.com/thread.jspa?threadID=209968&tstart=0</a>)
How can I fix this mapping issue?

Hello,
Your first problem is that ABAP SP does not equal Java SP. This is not a valid scenario.
Please update both to <b>the same SP level</b>.
After it, please retest your problem. I think that the problems will be solved (at least this one with validation service).
Short explanation to validation service:
Every template created in WAD will be validated before saving it. We have two validations:
1. one is locally with the meta data this checks if:
- all used parameters are on its place,
- all parameter values are valid,
- all defined items are existing...
2. second one is extended validation on the Java Server: this one checks i.e. following:
- are all used data providers valid
- are all used characteristics valid
- item dependent validation (e.g. if one item needs a dependency between to setting - this can be checked here)
The first one will be executed in Front-End and in ABAP Back-End. The second one in Java. Because your Java stack is /probably/ lower than ABAP, this validation does not work.
I hope I have explained it clearly.

Authorization Problem with Hierarchical Filter

Hi Gurus!
In our BW system I created a query that includes hierarchy-enabled characteristic
(0costcenter). 0costcenter has a hierarchy node variable to restrict
user's data by using authorization.
Then I created an authorization object from t-code RSECADMIN, in this auth.
object, restricted 0costcenter from hierarchy authorization tab , and
selected 6 nodes (the nodes have no sub-nodes).
In our web template ( WAD 7.0 ) I used hierarchical filter to see the 6 nodes in our report. It works fine when I first open the template in our Enterprise Portal that we see in the variable screen,0costcenter's variable captures the nodes that I restricted in our authorization object.
In the portal the hierarchical filter displays only selected nodes but this filter shows the hierarchy's root (name of the hierarchy) and when we choose the root the analysis displays all the values, the authorization do not work here.
From RSECADMIN, In the hierarchy authorization tab, I tried all the type of hierarchies but all of them gave the same result.
When i execute the report in BEx Analyzer, the authorization works fine, I think the problem is about hierarchical filter but i cannot find any solution...

Looooong text in hierarchical filter after SP15

Hello,
We discovered a problem after upgrading our BI-servers to SP15 (from 13). When we use hierchical filters in WAD the text description of each leafenode includes all the attributes. This results in an extremely broad hierchical filter.
Has anyone experienced this, and if so, is there a fix on it?

We have the same problem. We opened a message similar. Search for
"Problem with the view of an hierarchical filter selection". We were told to check note 1144979, but our client system deptm didn't apply the note.
Maybe it will help you.

Hierarchical filter in Web Reporting

I'm working with BI 7.0 SPS13 and the problem is the hierarchical filter displays every characteristic node using a very long text linking every attribute of the base characteristic along with it's values. For example:

In query designer go for the properties of the characteristics on which the hierarchy is active, under display as you have 2 windows, the 1st window allows
you to choose key, key+text, text etc, and the 2nd windows allows you to retract you selection 1st window to standard or short text. probably choosing short text would solve your problem.

I am building a web report which uses Hierarchical Filter Selection on Brand to filter data as per brands. When I select a hierarchy node the data in the table gets filtered but the chosen filter value is not displayed in the Hierarchical Filter Selection control textbox.
How can I make that to display ?

Hierarchical filter

Hi!
Is it possible to use hierarchical filter on hierarchical column if this column is not in report form? When I remove column from form selection step with this column became ignored and filter does not work. And I cannot add hide this column either because reports grain became wrong. What should I do?

Kos,
I dont see how you can apply filter on a report without the column that filter is being applied on existing in the report (You can typically hide the column, but it is not possible in your case). If you want to put data filters on hierarchial columns, you can do it using external table authorization by mentioning the node at which you want the particular group to be filtered.

How to collapse the filter conditions

Hi,
We are displaying the filter conditions under each dashboards. But our conditions are around 10, so the user want to collapse them by defualt.
if they want they want to expand and see the filters.
Can any suggest how to achieve this.
Also, during export to ppt they want the filter conditions also to be exported.

Venkat.This is what you should do:
1) Ensure that the Filter View exists in your report.
2) In your dashboard, drag TWO instances of your report in a section, one beneath the other.
3) In the second (bottom) instance, click on the Rename button. Type "Filter View" and then check the "Use Dashboard..." checkbox. Click "OK."
4) Click on the Properties button: Properties>Display Results>Link - In a Separate Window.
5) Click on the Properties button again: Properties>Show View>Filters 1
Now check out the dashboard. You will see a simple link that indicates the Filter View of the report without taking up any real estate on your dashboard. It costs you nothing extra and automatically updates when you modify your report.
That's what you should do for dashboard reports.

Hierarchical Filter Item should show no old intervals

I have built a hierarchy filter in my template.
The filter shows old hierarchy node. How can I suppress this?
example:
abc: Validity 01/01/2006 - 01/01/2008
abc: Validity 02/01/2008 - 09/29/2015
Only the second line is to be displayed.
Do I need to make this about the designer or WAD?

when I use the 2 June 2007 as Key Date, then the displayed valid for this date. But I want to get displayed that were greater than or equal 01 January 2005. But I can not enter a greater than or equal 01.01.2005. How can I put this?

Expanding and Collapsing Hierarchical Levels of a node

Hi Expert,
There is a scenario where user wants the Hierarchical data in a node to be in expanded form.
At present, all the hierarchical data in a node in displayed in collapsed form.
We need to manually click the expand icon(triangle Icon) , then the child nodes and siblings are visible.
I need to default this settings so that all the data comes in expanded form.
Please help me in resolving this issue?

I am using the method: expand_all_root_nodes( ). It expands all the nodes but the drawback is it is not allowing to collapse the node again.All nodes remains expanded.
I have tried using Me->typed_context->ISUBOLTREE->EXPAND_NODE( '1' ) but is only expands the 1st node. Remaining child nodes remains collapsed.
Subnode expand method is not helping.
Please let me know if you can help me with any other method which expands the tree completly as well as allows us to collapse the individual child node.

WAD - Problems with Filter

Hi Friends,
I have got the feedback from our user about new web applications implemented with WAD 7.x.
Almost everybody does not like new filters.
That is why I want to ask if it is possible to change layout of the filter or use somehow the old ones (I think in BEx Analyzer it is possible to change layout of the filters).
Two things are particularly uncomfortable:
1. If we want to go into the filter, at first we have to choose "edi"t (really unnecessery), In the old version it was better.
2.I can not find possibility in filter inside to "Select All" position. Do you know maybe some workaround.

Dear Erwin,
This "Edit" option will allow you to change the values of Characteristic or KF.Either you can select the value for a characteristic through Dropdown or select "Edit"->Selector dialog->Select the values.
And Selecting all the values in the values in the selector dialog is not possible with Web report,You have to select one by one.
As you said,this is not user friendly.

1) Type Query
2) Type Filter
Is there a difference regarding the performance? Why is there adifference when to use what?

WAD: Height of Filter pane not displayed correctly in SPS14

Hi Experts,
I just moved to SPS14 and I noticed on our Web Templates that Filter Pane are reduced in comparison with what I had in SPS10.
For Instance, for an height of 18 I was able to display properly 2 dropdown boxes in Filter pane. Now I am not able to see them unless I increase height.
Is it related to a new function of SPS14?

-Rightclick on the respective layer, then 'Open Attribute Table'
-Press Button 'Options': Add field. Name = SAPBWKEY, 'Type' depending on your characteristic
-Next Step: Editor ( a menue you need to load into ArcMap) --Start Editing
-Then again: Rightclick on the respective layer, then 'Open Attribute Table'
-Now you can maintain values for the SAPBWKEY
-Editor: Stop Editing (save changes)
Rightclick on the respective layerData-Export data
The last step exports the modified shapes files, which can then imported to your info object.italics

What have you set for the property "Maximum number of displayed values for the filter item"(ENTRIES_MAX_COUNT). This property is of the dropdown item and I think 50 is the default. Increase this value. May be this helps.
