Wamp V2 - Dreamweaver MX (6.1) DB Connections

Just for the record, if anyone is trying to develop using DW
MX (V6.1) with a LOCAL Apache server (V2.2.x), running PHP v5.x.x
and mySql uder Windows, it is likely that you will get problems
generating database connections.
I spent a frustrating few days chasing down an "an
unidentified error has occurred" message when trying to connect to
a mySQL DB that I knew was good..
The solution is simple - in Wamp, select PHP/PHP settings and
set the "register long arrays" setting.
The underlying problem is that $HTTP_POST_VARS was deprecated
in PHP V5 needs the above setting to function as designed in the
code inserted into PHP code under MX (v6.1).
Alternatively, use PHP v2.0 and Apache V4

  • Dreamweaver cs3 FTP Fault - Not connecting anymore

    Hi,
I hope someone may know the cause of this wierd problem
My dreamweaver cs3 has just stopped connecting to server for
    any of my sites
(i got over 100 sites and tried quite a few).
My other ftp program external to cwcs3 is fine and continues
    to work. This
using the same connection settings as dwcs3 site profiles.
    Nothing has
changed on my dwcs3 profiles but yestarday I had the daylight
    saving problem
(and last year) where i had to delete the cache file as per
    adobe tech doc.
DW no longer crashing but i think this ftp not connecting is
    only since
    yesterday.
I have also installed the various windows updates that came
    out recently.
The other machines in the office continue to work fine. All
    machines import
the same saved profiles, but if i remove the site profile and
    reimport it
still dosent connect, but repeating this on another machine
    works without a
    problem.
All machines in this floor have Vista Business/ CS3 web suite
    connecting to
a windows 2003 standard ed server running iis and
    iis/microsoft ftp server.
Same result with windows firewall disabled. Only other
    security app is NOD
anti-virus, again all machines are the same.
All i get is an error telling me to try passive etc, but i
    know this isnt
the fault as the other machines with the same settings are
    fine..
here is a copy of the ftp log after trying to connect,
    selecting a file, and
    selecting put.

If i was that anal about cpu overhead, would i be using
    dreamweavers built
in ftp with its feature 100%cpu usage. Even on my core 2
    extreme 9000 cpu!!
Thanks for the links, but everything in them has been ruled
    out. The issue
is clearly not a setting within dw. Its some sort of windows
    firewall
    corruption
Even running wf.msc (advanced win firewall config) provides
    no clues

  • Using Dreamweaver CS4 I can't connect to FTP

I loaded Adobe Dreamweaver on my new laptop which is loaded with WIndows 7.  I added the site information that I used in the past.  I then clicked on the button to "connects to remote host" and I get the following error message.
An FTP error occured - cannot make connection to host.  The remote host cannot be found.
What do I need to do in order to resolve this issue so I can connect and upload my pages to the web.
    Sean

The only thing that I can think of is the site definition are not correct.  Do you create an .ste file and import?  If so,did you change any information since you did the export?  I would double check the remote information in your site definitions.
Sorry I dont have any other suggestions.

  • Dreamweaver CS4 Search & Replace / FTP connectivity / ctrl + B, ctrl + c

    Hi all,
CS4 Search and Replace / FTP connectivity ISSUES:
I use Search and replace tools for some large replace operations on live websites.. However when searching and replacing.. Dreamweaver is constantly having to establish a connection between the server for each file I search and replace in.
Programs like Pspad have this down to a T. Any chance we can have an update to make the search and replace is faster. It's utterly useless at the moment.
Biggest problem is if the connection to the server fails whilst searching and replacing text in a document.. The file gets removed from the server.. I have lost now 3 website pages because of this. I edit files live because they are within a test environment.. I don't like working locally because I know programs like Pspad are capable of being extremely fast at editing live.
Because of this issue, I have had to stop using dreamweaver CS4 for now..
    ctrl + B, ctrl + C ISSUES
When pressing ctrl + b to add strong tags to text.. Sometimes it doesn't work and I have to goto the keyboard tag editor.. close it again.. Then it works again. So there's a bug there.
And sometimes ctrl + c copies as if it does (ctrl + a, ctrl + c) ... And it stops once again when I goto keyboard tags and close it again..
    Explain that hehe!
All the best and thanks in advance.

  •      Dreamweaver CS3 crashing on dns connection test

Whenever I'm setting up a DSN connection in CS3 the program
crashes every time I try to access it via either "Test" or be
expanding the tables sub-tree. I've tried both system dsn and
    custom connection string.
I've reinstalled both dreamweaver and the .NET framework and
I'm still getting the same error. The specific error is always

    ModVer: 8.0.50727.363 Offset: 00014a51"
So it would appear to be an issue with msvcr80.dll
conflicting with Dreamweaver. Any suggestions on how to solve?

  • Dreamweaver CS5 using PHP to connect to Postgres

Started learning Dreamweaver using PHP to connect to mySql and dynamically load data into a table on my web page.  Dreamweaver worked great as I didn't have to enter any PHP.  Now trying to use PHP to connect to a Postgres DB.   Does Dreamweaver CS5 support PHP connection to Postgres like it did mySql?   Or do I need to enter the PHP commands  to connect and access the Postgres myself rather than rely on Dreamweaver (which I did for mySql)?

PHP/Postgres is not a supported server model in DW. You'll need to code by hand, or try to find an extension. Try posting over at the Postgressql forums.

  • Dreamweaver (on Windows 7) wont connect to IIS (v7) Server using "FTP over SSL/TLS..."

I am evauating wether to purchase Dreamweaver CS6...
Dreamweaver CS6 trial (on Windows 7) wont connect to IIS (v7) Server using "FTP over SSL/TLS (explicit encryption)".  I have a NEW Godaddy SSL certificate installed on the IIS server.
On connecting Dreamweaver states: "Server Certificate has expired or contains invalid data"
    I have tried:
-ALL the Dreamweaver Server setup options
-Using multiple certificates (tried 2048 bit and 4096 bit Godaddy SSL certificates)
-Made sure the certificate 'issued to' domain name matches my domain name.
I am able to connect no problem using Filezilla, with equivalent Filezilla setting "Require explicit FTP over TLS".  I can also connect fine using Microsoft Expression web.

    Thanks for your prompt reply.
    My comments:
    1) You should update your tread (forums.adobe.com/thread/889530) to reflect that it still occurs on CS6 (I had already read it but figured it was an old tread and thus should be fixed by now).
    2) You said “These warnings will also pop up for your users if you have a store saying the SSL certificate does not match the domain/ip and this can make users checking out in a storefront very nervous” .  This does not seem to be correct – my https pages display properly using the same Godaddy certificate … using IE:
    3) Godaddy is not my host (I use Amazon AWS) – but the SSL certificate is from them.

  • Dreamweaver CS6 - locks up when connecting to server - sftp

I am using Dreamweaver CS6 on Windows 7  64bit which is connected to a remote server using sftp.  Most of the time connecting to the server has been fine but now Dreamweaver has started locking up when I use the Put command.   According to the log the process times out but if this is the case surely the program would still be operational.   However, when this occurs Dreamweaver is unusable and the task manager has to be used to force the program to close.  When it happens regularly (as it is today) the program becomes unusable. The files I have been uploading when this occured today were between 5 and 20KB's.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem.

    Hi,
Use Check-in/Check-out while transferring. This can be enabled as follows:
In the site settings dialog, go to advanced tab and check the checkbox "Enable check-in/check-out". Give a name and a user-id as well. Save the settings now and you can do a get/put or check-in/check-out and confirm does it works or not.
    Thanks

  • Dreamweaver very slow when lose connection to intranet

When not connected or lose connection while intranet
    documents are open,
id still like to be able to work in dreamweaver yet it is so
slow like it is trying to find the intranet every second.
At least it wont give a popup for every open file like
Dreamweaver mx2004. but it still runs very slow, like switching to
another application and then switching back to Dreamweaver8, the
document open becomes active after 20seconds so have to wait.
Intuitively at least for me, it would be nice if it only
bothered you when u tried to save the document, a message would
popup saying ' Orig document path could not be found'. I would stop
whatever background process is running slowing down dreamweaver.
Anyway to turn off whatever process this is?

Hi Murray, the RAM comments were irrelevant, pointless. 32GB RAM vs 4GB RAM?  Sorry, I worked at Microsoft and as a systems integrataion consultant for a number of years.  32bit programmes don't access RAM the same as 64bit, but, having 32gb with a 64Bit OS means RAM usage for a 32bit programme is better managed. Programmes and data files are on seperate drives.  My data files kept are on 3 disk stripe sets.
The CSS files and the HTML file are on the same drive.  AS an example of performance for data read/writes, I also use Photoshop CS6 to edit images in excess of 2gb in size containg multiple smart object, and I dont experience this type perormance lag.
In this case, RAM is mainly irrlevent because the file are small, approx 200kb total combined size.  I mentioned RAM in my initial post because any time I've had problems with Adobe products before, I've always been asked how much RAM I have.
So, can we please drop RAM, and perhaps focus on the problem....
Dreamweaver, regardless of what background processes I have running, regardless of how much RAM I have, regardless of where the files are kept, has a significant performance hit when editing an HTML file with links to multiple CSS files.

  • Dreamweaver CS3 ftp won't connect

Very unusual ftp problem: Server is MS IIS. I have multiple
Dreamweaver sites defined for this server. Been using them for
years. All sites connect fine except one. The one initially worked.
For the one problem site, clicking the Test button in Remote Info
tab connects just fine. Clicking the Connect button in Files will
time out every time. Using WSFTP to the same site and folder works
just fine. The only difference between this site and the ones that
work is the folder name. They even share the same parent folder.
ftp connection parameters are the same. How can this be?

I solved it myself. It turned out to be a corrupt site
definition in Dreamweaver. By deleting the site, then recreating
it, everything works as it should.

I have DW 2014.1 installed and up to date. Followed all guidelines when installing BC extension. Restarted machine, restarted DW. Uninstalled BC extension, reinstalled extension. Adobe extension manager up to date. Creative cloud desktop is running with sync on.
    Has anyone solved this issue?
    Thanks

    Hello Gregory,
Can you try the below steps:
    1. Goto AddOns page and uninstall Business Catalyst.
    2. Now verify that BC is no more installed on your machine for DW CC 2014.1 (Goto Site menu > Manage Sites.....Import Business Catalyst Site Button should NOT be available anymore)
    3. Clean up your DW CC 2014.1 preferences. To do so, please delete the following folders:
    Win : %appdata%/Adobe/Common/15.0 ; %appdata%/Adobe/Dreamweaver CC 2014.1
    Mac : ~/Library/ApplicationData/Adobe/Dreamweaver CC 2014.1 ; ~/Library/ApplicationData/Adobe/Common/15.0
    4. Now Re-install the BC Extension from the AddOns page.
Let me know if you still face issues.
    Thanks

  • DreamWeaver CS5, PHP and DB2 Connections

    Hi,

  • Is there a list of hosting companies Dreamweaver can connect to? Database wise

I need to know if Dreamweaver can connect to certain databases. I don't want to waste my money just to find out, so I came here. I need to know if there is so I can go with that hosting company instead.

    Jean90p wrote:
Once I get everything sorted out on a 'local' level I'll then purchase some remote server space and transfer the files to it. Then if I need to update the database I'll just use the remote version of phpMyadmin which should come with the hosting package.
Yea that's what I meant what hosting companies can Dreamweaver connect to? I'm using wamp locally but I've tried to connect to go-daddy database and that was a bust so now I'm looking for other hosting providers that allow me to connect to their databases from Dreamweaver.....Or is there any reason to do that at all?
No reason to want to connect to a remote database from DW in my opinion. Like I said I do all the setting up locally then transfer files over to a remote host and connect using the database connection details supplied by the host. If the connection details from the host are correct then all you should need to do is replace your local connection details in the database connection file with the remote ones - everything should work like a dream - obviously sometimes it doesn't but that's because some web-hosts make you jump through hoops to set anything up, for instance BT in the UK are total crap in my opinion stay clear of their convoluted set up if youre in the UK - I'm sure others have had a great experience using BT - go with a small company - large companies couldn't give a shite about their clients.

narrowed it down to the router. We bought a new router - and the
problems persisted on all four computers in our network, two
running XP and two running Vista. It can't be a firewall issue
because all four machines don't have the same settings.
So the problem lies with WAMP or Dreamweaver. I've installed
WAMP5, stepped back to Dreamweaver MX 2004 - nothing works.
    The error is:
"Testing Database Connection..." searches and fails several
times, then responds with:" MySQL error 2003: Cannot connect to
    server on "IP.Address"
I can log into the FTP site, I can log into the PHPMyAdmin
    through a web browser.
On top of that, after trying (and failing) to connect to the
MySQL database, I get a network timeout from the web pages
themselves. The pages fail to load in any browser. The FTP won't
connect. I can clear that by uninstalling WAMP and re-installing
    Dreamweaver.
It's frustrating because I have run out of fix options. Over
four days, nothing has worked. Everything seems like it should work
    - because it did, up until Thursday.

    Hi sohail.
As you title mentioned wamp server, for WampServer is a Windows web development environment. It allows you to create web applications with Apache2, PHP and a MySQL database. This is third-party software. I
am afraid this is out of our support.  I would suggest you to ask in their
official forum. Thanks for your understanding.
    Have a nice day!

have spent over 3 hours on this, and double checked
everything, even with ISP to make sure my host address is correct.
I can connect to the host address via other programs and ftp
I have the same settings in dreamweaver, but it won't
    connect.
I can connect to other sites with this same dreamweaver, and
can create NEW connections too, but not to this one site that I can
connect to with everything else, but dreamweaver.
    The is dreamweaver MX,
    Can anyone help?

Adobe provides a test FTP server for these purposes. You can read about it here -
    http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/troubleshoot-ftp-issues-dreamweaver-cs5.html#main_Ve rify_FTP_access
Try setting up a connection to that server and see if you can connect.
