I want to set the mailto app for google apps gmail.
I tried editing the gecko...mailto.2.uritemplate as per instructions found on web (https://mail.google.com/a/MYDOMAIN/mail/?extsrc=mailto&url=%s.
Set 3 related config values to "true" as per instructions (network.protocol-handler.expose.mailto ; network.protocol-handler.warn-external.mailto ; AND, third, gecko.handlerService.allowRegisterFromDifferentHost.
Does not work, no Google Apps in the mailto app spot.
Tried javascript method in address bar without success:

Spotlight does NOT work - tried EVERYTHING
Running older Intel Mac Pro... Mountain Lion
Spotlight just stopped working - it returns nothing but webpage suggestions.
There are NO disks added under the Spotlight System Preferences.
Trying to add and then remove only results in the "Privacy List Error The item couldn't be addred because you don't have the appropriate permissions.
I've rebuilt permissions. No go.
I've killed SystemUIServer in Activities Monitor - nada.
I've used the info here on How to Disable (or Enable) Spotlight in Mac OS X Lion which includes the terminal commands for killing Spotlight, restarting again, and forcing reindexing. Nothing. Well almost nothing- I got it to re-index for a bit last night... But when you use Spotlight.... nothing.
I have an ugly suspicion it has to do with perceived ownership of the disks by the OS - anyone care to take me up on this? Here's why:

When I "Get Info" (Command-I) I see these permissions... the disk first, and then the .Spotlight-V100 folder:
So why does the .Spotlight-V100 say that everyone has "No Access"? But looking at my Mac Mini these settings seem to be correct.
I tried changing ownership on the everyone to "Read" (which didn't work everytime I tried until I started writing this of course) but it just returns the same Privacy Access error when you try to add the disk to the Spotlight Preferences Privacy list again. I tried changing it to Read & Write... same thing.
Now inside the Spotlight-V100 folder is the VolumeConfiguration.plist file - I'm wondering if something in these preferences (which you can read unless you change the setting to "Read" where it is first set 'everyone' as 'no access') might give a clue - so here is the content of that file and I'll leave this for now to see if anyone has any clue what's going on here. Going to Console and filtering for mdworker reveals no entries what so ever. I recognize mdworker as one of the key components of Spotlight so suggests it's not running. I also see that Console is posting repeated crashes for for

this certainly appears also to be Spotlight because running this in Terminal...
sudo launchctl unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.metadata.mds.plist
and the crash reports stop. Run this to reload Spotlight...
sudo launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.metadata.mds.plist
and the errors start again.
This is the crash report noted above - pretty sure this is what you want now - I see no mdsworker but mds errors all through...

Flash 9 Does Not Work- Tried EVERYTHING
I tried everything from uninstalling, using the standalone,
deleting registry keys, using the ocx files, EVERYTHING. I'm tired
of "This is the answer" posts on internet, which did not work for
me, even though I follow the direction word-for-word.
Anyone else share the feeling?

1. First download the uninstaller to your desktop from here

4. Run the uninstaller
5. What files are left in this folder?

Jcombobox: additem does not work! "invalid method decl."

i have a gui with a jComboBox. but when i try to add an item with addItem() the compiler tells me
invalid method declaration; return type required

thanks for help.I'd bet the problem is not in these 2 lines of code. Maybe you have a method that has no return type specified(as the compiler already said). Check if you have spelled the names of the constructors of your class properly and the orher methods too. An example could be

Tried google - no posts.
It looks like that the installation process of one of the applications have caused some trouble. One of them may have changed or added kext files.
For that, the Window server crashed if you try to open a non Apple application like Firefox
Start the system in safe mode by holding the shift key on power on.
If save mode is reached, perform a permissions repair with the Disk Utility.
Don't bother about upcoming warnings like "could not repair file xy" as that occur cause you use the tool on a running system and opened files can not get touched by the tool.
After repair is done reboot system to normal and try to open Firefox.
If the problem persits, please report back here.

CDN does not work - tried twice
This is weird. I've done this many times before but I can't create a CDN endpoint anymore.
So I have a storage account, for example, myacc.blob.core.windows.net. And I have *public* container xslt. And there's an image inside it - logo.png. If I use direct url to this image (myacc.blob.core.windows.net/xslt/logo.png) it works.
Now, I created a brand new CDN endpoint az888888.vo.msecdn.net which points to myacc.blob.core.windows.net. And if I try to access az888888.vo.msecdn.net/xslt/logo.png I get 404!

I didn't reproduce this error on my environment. I created a CND endpoints and using the links below. They worked fine.

Did you use https to access your CDN endpoints? If you didn't enable HTTPS endpoint (https://az678259.vo.msecnd.net/img/1.jpg ), I suggest you use http to visit.

Trackpad two finger scroll, zoom and rotation does not work, tried everything
After I updated to lion my trackpad zoom, scroll and rotation feautres won´t work. I´ve tried tip I could find ( restarting, updating to mavericks, enabling them in system preferences, using terminal ect)

Had error while updating Itunes to ver 11.1.4. I had 11.1.3.8 previously. Following instructions for Removing and Reinstalluing iTunes and other software components. Was able to uninstall iTunes and Apple Software Update, but attempts to do the same under Control Panel failed for Apple Mobile Device Support (ver 7.0.0.117). Directioons say to uninstall components in order given so I cannot continue until Apple Mobile Device Support is removed. Any suggestions?

I've run into a very interesting problem today, and I hope you'll be able to help me.
I have a page in which the top is php to read a table from the server, and post the table as the html page is being built.
The data come up as a table, and each row is clickable, that click moving the user to a different page, based on the row clicked.
Here are the relevant parts of the php code:

Today I started to build something similar, BUT! I cannot read from the database at the top of the page, I must do an ajax query, call the db, and post the data in a table;

All the "stuff" loaded onto the page just fine, BUT, absolutely nothing happens when I click a row.
Playing around this afternoon, I did a "View Source" on both pages, and saw something VERY interesting;
1 - The table written by PHP is present, can be seen, and therefore is "clickable" to the jquery .click function.
2 - The table written by javascript is INVISIBLE! I cannot see it in the source view (but I can see it on the screen) and therefore the .click function can't see it either.
Questions:
1. How can I make the table written in javascript "clickable" - how can I make the javascript table "visible"?
2. Could it be the use of ".html" to post the table to the div? Is there another way?
And again, I thank you in advance for any help.I found the solution to my problem, and perhaps my comments here will help others.
Thinking a bit more, I wrote a separate javascript routine that created a table, allowed it to be styled, and allowed it to be clickable.

The initial code I posted was creating the table the wrong way.
You have to create the WHOLE table at the same time, and post it all at once.
The code above does that.
My learning points are:
1. To create a table in javascript, and post it with a $("#puttablehere").html(output); call, you must put the ENTIRE table into that single string variable called "output" (or whatever you want to call it).
2. Everytime you call a jqeury .html function like this: ---("#puttablehere").html(output); -- It COMPLETELY over-writes the whole div/tr/td block that it is pointed at.
3. If you create a table in javascript (client side) you cannot see it with "View Source" - because what is posted in the table is AFTER the DOM is loaded.
Creating a table with php server side - you CAN see, because it is posted with the DOM.
So I thank you for your ideas, and I hope this may help another noob, such as myself, in the future.

Google search suggestion does not work
I have Google set as my default search engine in the upper right hand corner. Until today when I start typing it automatically gives suggestions. Now this feature does not work on my laptop which uses Windows XP. However, it works on my desktop PC using Windows XP just fine. If I go to google.com and start typing in the search bar the web site offers suggestions. Therefore I feel the problem has something to do with Firefox 3.6.8
I use Firefox on mt mac. The toolbar search boxes stopped working with the latest upgrade to version 3.6.8

Any intelligent people from HP on this forum ? Why the Disney app eprint does not work ?
There is a problem with the Disney App on the Photosmart eprint application . After the selection of an image there is only a preview button and no way to print. If you use this button nothing appear except a black screen !!!
First of all stop to make stupid answer like unsbscribe eprint service uninstall the disney application or verify that your a registered or check that your printer is powered ....IT DOES NOT WORK even all this check is on !!!
And you can also check that all of the users with this bug have try this and no way.... That is the problem with this application ? Do you have any user that can print something from this app. Find a solution or unvalidate this application.
Oh I forgot to teel you that it work perfectly for the dreamwork application.
Regards, Defmak.The disney app is currently experiencing problems. It is an issue on Disney's end which is why you can print from other applications. Unfortunately I'm not sure when Disney will have the issue taken care of but what I would suggest is to try later.

Configure exclude for tablespace does not work.
I have to exclude a tablespace from my full database backups. I have Level-1 and Level-0 backup script.
run the following command as per documentation.
CONFIGURE EXCLUDE FOR TABLESPACE DATA_TEMP;
To reconfirm, if exclude is set.
run SHOW ALL;
it shows that exclude is set properly.
Now i have to restore on another machine and before running the restore i run
RESTORE DATABASE PREVIEW, just to confirm if backup health is ok.
it gives me error

The datafile 10 mentioned in the above error is the 'DATA_TEMP' tablespace which was excluded before taking the backup.
Restoring the database with RESTORE DATABASE command goes fine and restores the tablespace "DATA_TEMP".
My question is why RMAN have backuped up a tablespace which is in the exclusion list. i think rman reads its environment settings before starting a backup.
Have any one have experienced this before. the documentation says nothing about this.

For some unknown reason, my Apple ID Password does not work when trying to down load IBooks, Nook books, or new Apps. Everything else seems to work. Any suggestions out their???
I appreciate the info and realize that the Nook App is not related to my Apple account but this too has stopped working. My situation first started with the Nook App not down loading and then has now spread to my IBook and new app downloads. I have checked into my ITunes account and the ID and password are correct and at times when I am asked to submit my Apple password such as setting up this Apple Support Community the ID and password work. My problem seems to be just with trying to use my ID and password when wanting to download new books or apps. I can go into the IBook, Nook, and App stores and seemingly download an item but when clicking on the new book or app nothing happens and I get a message that states it can not get into the ITunes store and it wants me to either try again or cancel. This message appears usually ten minutes after I have tried to make a purchase. At other times when I attempt to download a book or app I lose the screen and the IPad goes into the opening screen. Short of redoing my Apple account or deleting an app and attempting to reload the app (but this won't work because the App store won't load new apps) I don't have a clue what to do.

I have an apple ID which I use to sign into icloud for my iPad and iPhone.But when I use the same ID for setting up iCloud on my Macbook it says INCORRECT ID or password, try again. I tried changing my passwords several times but it does not work for the macbook.
You will have to provide the correct password to delete the existing account, if you have tried but are not getting the password reset email, contact Apple for assistance by going to https://expresslane.apple.com, then click More Products and Services>Apple ID>Other Apple ID Topics>Lost or forgotten Apple ID password.
