Warning: Comp needed but no BD
Hi, Everyone:
When I go to look at a property of a node (for example the VISA Write, but it could any one of the built-in functions), it will keep returning an error (see the attached picture) until it runs out of hard drives to check, then it finally opens the proerties dialog. Upon closing LabVIEW, I get the above error (details in the txt file). I guess it's trying to compile a locked library (locked for a good reason - it's part of the LabVIEW install). It just started happening, but I cannot recall an event that may have started the whole thing off...
Anyone have any ideas?

You can start LabVIEW from scratch, then make a new VI. Drop anything on it (like the "add" function, for instance). Open its properties and it happens. First, it tries all my removable drive letters, then it finally gives up. That is the time I think I get my first "Comp needed" error in the log. After that, it's smart enough to know that there is nothing in the drives but it silently accumulates the same error every time I try to open a property on a LabVIEW-provided function. It also seems to happen when I try to open the properties of a typedef.
It thinks it needs to recompile the library, but since the BDs are removed, it cannot recompile. The thing is, the library can't be modified, so why would it think it was? Again, thinking it might be a corrupt library, I did a repair on the LabVIEW install to no effect.
The LabVIEW info is contained in the log.

Then, you have the following error:
RMAN-06053: unable to perform media recovery because of missing logWhich says that some logs are missing. The error messages RMAN-06025 below give you the list of missing logs:

...Are you sure to have a Backup of all the needed Archived logs ?
You may execute this statement to check the contents of the RMAN Backup:

I cannot find this 300GB "Backup" in the Finder, only in the Storage info when I check "About This Mac".
You are probably using Time Machine to backup your MacBook Pro, right? Then the additional 300 GB could be local Time Machine snapshots. Time Machine will write the hourly backups to the free space on your hard disk, if the backup drive is temporarily not connected. You do not see these local backups in the Finder, and MacOS will delete them, when you make a regular backup to Time Machine, or when you need the space for other data.

I have restarted my computer, but the information remains the same. How do I reclaim the use of the 300GB? Why is it showing up as "Backups" when it used to indicate "Photos"? Are my photos safe on the external drive?
You have tested the library on the external drive, and so your photos are save there.
The local TimeMachine snapshot probably now contains a backup of the moved library. Try, if connecting your Time Machine drive will reduce the size of your local Time Machine snapshots. -

SCCM report says 17 patches are needed, but they are not needed
Another weird one. I've had this before with just 1 patch needed but never figured it out. But now I have a Server 2012 box (SCCM 2012 R2 CU4) that report "Compliance 5 - Specific computer" says need 17 patches. Software Center on the box says
none are needed. Patches are downloaded and installing on other computers. In Windows Update\View Update History, it says all 17 patches successfully installed ON THE SAME DAY. So I think something happened with the patch run on that day and Software Center
and Update History say they finished but somewhere in the db it thinks they haven't. Cache purges, reboots, and running all actions on the actions tab haven't helped.
Patches that have come up as needed after that day install and report as completed just fine.
Any ideas?

to get a client to re-report "current" state of all software updates currently known about at the client, that little snippet needs to be re-run.
In my environment about 2x a year I have all my clients re-submit their software updates state (enable a deployment for a while, then disable it). I don't know how many clients "might be" in a misreporting state, but it gives me the warm
fuzzy that I'm doing my best to reduce the possibility that computers might be listing they are missing an update, when they aren't.

With Windows Explorer, navigate to your C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support folder.
Copy the libxml2.dll that you should find there, navigate to the nearby Mobile Device Support folder, and Paste it in there also.
Restart the programme all should be well
In case that your OS is (64 bit)
1. Open windows explorer, go to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
2. Copy file "libxml2.dll"
3. Open new windows explorer, to to location C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support
4. Paste file "libxml2.dll" to the location.
5. Restart the programme, it should not display that message, it should be clear.

Be Sure the External drive is Formatted Mac OS Extended (journaled)
After you are satisfied they are Safely on the External... You could even Select a Couple on the External and check that they Open and Run...
Then... Discounect the External and Delete the particular Applications from your Internal.

I recently upgraded to Lion and I had Adobe InDesign which is no longer supported. Problem is, I have several files I need but cannot open because it was PowerPC based. What do I need to do? Thanks in advance!
Assuming you registered your older version, you can retrieve the serial number by going to Adobe's site and go into your account. On this page, click the My products link in the right hand column of the first three. You'll be asked to enter your user account name and password. Once in, a list of all software you've purchased will be shown, along with their serial numbers.
That said, it really won't help you much. A PowerPC only version of InDesign means it's no newer than the original CS version, and won't be worth a cent towards an upgrade discount. To get CS6, you'd have to pay full price again. -

My iPhone says that I don't have enough storage to update one of my apps so I went to delete stuff that I didn't need but every time I select what I want to delete my phone freezes, goes back to the home screen and doesn't delete anything.
First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
