Was remotely shut down by someone ?

Was illegally shut down by ? Then they started wiping my iMac
Question how do I prove it's mine ? Recept stolen purchased from pc world about  a 1 half year ago !
Problem it was registered but after a visit to Solihull and a new hard drive it has become unregistered
Then it was remotely taken over and I had to pull the plug as clean my mac went rogue on me !
Now the police have it and are looking it over but his is because I went into business with a dodgy partner
Question how do I prove it's mine ??????mine ??????

You need reciept / bank statement showing withdraw / invoice showing purchase etc.
The more of these you can find, the better

    Hi,
    Troubleshooting a start up script can be difficult. There are some third party programs that also keep logs of start up programs, however for Firefox this may be different.
    Is Firefox a startup program? [http://www.winxptutor.com/msinfo32.htm]
    Its also possible to check the Web developer tools for any scripts in a page: [https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools/Debugger]
    In the control panel there is also Administrative tools to view event logs, but this may be something a local technician can walk you through.

  • Remote Shutting Down

    Hi I am developing simple RMI system that allows different computers to shutdown remotely using 1 pc.
    I've read the tutorial on RMI just now and tried it, but my problem is about obtaining the local IPs of my computers.
    Scenario:
    5 pcs
    PC-1 - controls the shutting down of other PCs. This pc contains the client file.
    PC-2 - contains 1 server file (sample IP 192.168.1.102)
    PC-3 - contains 1 server file (sample IP 192.168.1.103)
    PC-4 - contains 1 server file (sample IP 192.168.1.104)
    PC-5 - contains 1 server file (sample IP 192.168.1.104)
    given this scenario, my client file of course invokes the methods on the different PCs having these IPs to shut each of them down.
    since the invocation needs to get their local IPs, how would i get those IPs remotely?
    so that I would not need to get those IPs by going to each computer.
    I hope you would reply to my problem.
    Thanks in advance!
    Mark Ramos

    This code opens a UDP port and listens for incoming requests. This code would go on each PC you want to shutdown.
    socket   = new DatagramSocket(port);
    request  = new byte[reqLen];
    received = new DatagramPacket(request, request.length);
    while (true) {
        socket.receive(received);
        if (/* received.getData() looks like a PC discovery request */) {
            socket.send(new DatagramPacket(response, response.length,
                    received.getAddress(), received.getPort()));
    }This code broadcasts a discovery request and waits for responses to come back. This code would go on client making the shutdown request.socket = new DatagramSocket();
    // Send request
    ifaces = NetworkInterface.getNetworkInterfaces();
    while (ifaces.hasMoreElements()) {
        iface = ifaces.nextElement();
        if (iface.isLoopback()) {
            continue;
        for (InterfaceAddress addr : iface.getInterfaceAddresses()) {
            if ((broadcast = addr.getBroadcast()) != null) {
                socket.send(new DatagramPacket(request, request.length, broadcast, port));
    response = new byte[respLen];
    received = new DatagramPacket(response, response.length);
    socket.setSoTimeout(2000);
    try {
        while (true) {
            socket.receive(received);
            if (/* Response is a valid PC discovery response */) {
                hostsToShutdown.add(received.getAddress());
            // Add code to know when to break out of while loop
    } catch (SocketTimeoutException e) {
        // Timout reached
    }I didn't try to compile it, but it should work once you add all the declarations and such.

  • Ipod touch was working, shut down and will not power up

    Ipod was working. Went dead and will not power up. The unit was charged. I connect it to a charger and I get nothing. Tried the power and home button combo but the unit is not responding. It is less than 6 months old

    Try restoring the iPod via iTunes on your computer.  If iTunes does not see the iPod:
    - place the iPod in recovery mode.  See:

    Hi,
    Have you tried a Reset...
    Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
    The Apple logo will Appear and then Disappear...
    Usually takes about 10 - 15 Seconds...
    Turn the Phone On...
    If that does not help... See Here:

  • Remotely shutting down the idoc listener

    This is onorthodox, and the reason for it is too long to type here.  But is there a way to turn off an idoc listener through a URL that I could run in BLS?
    Doesn't matter if its recommended or supported.  I'm just curioius.  I'll do it at my own risk

    No there is no service type URL available for this.  The only option is via the Message Listener screen currently. That said....
    You could attempt to post directly to the admin page handler, simulating a call from the JSP page.  That would be your only option.  I really don't recommend it since it could be broken by any service pack.

  • Simple App For Shutting Down Remotely?

    I just got an iPod touch today, primarily to use to remotely control iTunes (but I'm sure I'll fund lots of other uses).
    Can anyone recommend an app that would allow remotely shutting down PPC and Intel Macs (and possibly a pc also)?

    Oh, p.s. Please do not suggest I go in and repair my iPhone, I've already did once - the fix lastest 2 weeks.

  • Used safe start to try and fix issues with safari on MacBook Pro but it shuts down right after it stops. What can I do.

    Safari kept shutting down and someone suggested trying a safe start to correct issue. All this did was create a new oils sue as my MacBook Pro OS X 10.9.1 system only begins the safe start within lay a small portion of the bar filling and then shuts down. Now I cannot even get back to my regular screen.

    artbyval,
    what is an “oils sue”?
    Have you tried booting into your recovery partition? To do so, hold down a Command key and the R key as you start up. It should eventually show a Mac OS X Utilites menu, from which Disk Utility can be selected. In Disk Utility, select the disk that your MacBook Pro boots from (typically named “Macintosh HD”). Once the disk is selected, press the “Verify Disk” button; if it shows problems, press the “Repair Disk” button. Once the verification/repair is complete, restart normally, to see if you can login as normal. Once you can log in again, see if Safari still has the same problem with shutting down.

  • Yosemite Shuts Down

    IMac (24" Early 2009)
    Processor 3.06 GHz Intel COre 2 Duo
    Memory 6 GB
    Graphic NVIDIA GeForce GT 130 512 MB
    OSX Yosemite
    Version 10.10
    After the computer starts up I can work in it from a few minutes to almost ten minutes before suddenly it will shut down for no reason. It doesn't seem to be application problem. Sometimes I'm in Photoshop CC 2014, or Apple System Preference running Monitor to Drive Genius or Safari or......
    I have started in REPAIR and run Repair Permissions and Repair Disk, with no luck. Did hook up my 15" started the iMac in Terminal mode ran DiskWarrior and like Apple Repair Disk they all say they are fixing issues. But, the shutting down (like someone pulled the power cord out of the iMac keeps happening).
    I can start it by holding down the SHIFT key and then I don't have a problem. But, this isn't feasible for working with Photoshop for me.
    So, I can I find out what the extension or whatever is causing my problem?
    Thanks,
    Don

    Thank again, John. I will go through the log and see if I can make sense of it. A trip to the Genius Bar is an oxymoron. I'm better off taking off my files. Erasing my hard drive and start from scratch. It would be faster with better results. I sure do appreciate all your help and advice.

  • Dual 2.3 GHz G5 suddenly shutting down

    We have a Dual 2.3 GHz G5 (production week 10/29/05, Power PPC 970 v.3.0, with 2.5 GHz RAM), running OS 10.4.8. This machine has started to suddenly shut down - like someone pulled the plug with no warning.
    After turning itself off like that, we need to wait around 20 minutes before it'll start up again and keep running. Once it has shut itself off, we cannot get to the logon screen without it shutting off suddenly again. After letting it cool down for 20 minutes, it'll run again. So it seems to be heat related in some way.
    I've run Temperature Monitor and iStat, and everything looks OK. Of course TechTool Deluxe didn't find anything (does it ever?).
    The machine will run for 2-3 hours under load just fine, but will suddenly click and shut off at some point - even when not under a load.
    I've checked the System logs and Console logs and can see nothing, except once the system log reported "ApplePMU::PMU forced shutdown, cause = -122"
    The other times there was no log entry, like it shut down too fast for the log to be written.
    Is the power supply going bad? Is there a temperature sensor which is too sensitive?
    We'd appreciate any help or suggestions.

    o maybe there is something RAM related, but I can't
    imagine that RAM would shut the machine completely
    off. Can it?
    I believe the problem is thermal related. You may have a processor acting up. Try running Hardware Monitor once, and see what your internal temps are running.

  • Latest update makes my vista not shut down

    SO, I've uninstalled and re-installed the latest ITunes three times, and every time after installing my computer fails to shut down properly. I've let it go for hours of " shutting down" and it never does unless I hold the power button. When I start it up, it says it was not shut down properly and how would I like to start it up... When I uninstall iTunes, it shuts down and restarts fine. Can someone out there spread some help my way?

    Plug your device into the original charger & block in a wall outlet and leave it alone for a couple of hours. Then, while it is still plugged in, restart it by holding down the home button and the power button for 10-15 seconds until you see the Apple, then let go.

  • Why is imac randomly shutting down?

    Hi everyone, My imac 24" intel (early 2009) 2.66ghz 4GB ram keeps randomly shutting down, It started after i upgraded to 10.8.1, It was running fine until then, I had the screen set to sleep if no one had used it for half an hour (not changed this for 3yrs) & it started to not wake up & i would have to restart then when i started using it would randomly shut down like someone had pulled the plug! When i got it going again it would do it again sometimes in 5 mins sometimes 10 mins, I spoke to apple on the phone did all the usual stuff they told me to do still the same, I'm going to the genius store tomorrow with the imac.
    I have no idea what could be the problem.
    Anyone had this before?
    p.s I have had this 3yrs now so no warranty

    Hello,
    Have you blown the dust out lately?
    Get Temperature Monitor to see if it's heat related...

  • I can't open firefox the running but not responding window opens and says to close the existing window. I can't do that shutting down the computer doesn't do anything to help. I've done all the suggestions here. I've uninstalled and reinstalled firefox

I have tried to end the process via cntrl+shift+esc and nothing firefox is listed to end. I have tried find the app data via the run icon in the start up window, I have no run icon on this system (Acer with windows vista(?)

    I am having a similar problem. Running Xp.
    Latest revision of firefox.
    After using firefox for a while if I exit, parent.lock is locked and i have to reboot to reload firefox.
    I have killed all firefox applications from task manager (usually there are none). and I have tried 3 different "file unlock" programs including unlocker to no avail.
    I also recently installed a program that shows -all- open files, and parent.lock is not listed, and thus not closable/unlockable from there.
